Delicious food, fast service and cozy atmosphere

Very flavorful cuisine; the menu isn't too extensive, but not too limited. Portions are good for the price, even if they're a bit skimpy on the meat and fish options. There's enough choice for vegetarians. The restaurant offers a lovely ambiance, but can get quite noisy when it's full. The service is unpretentious and very friendly, very pleasant. Kudos to our favorite brunette waitress. She takes excellent care of all her guests. I'd be happy to come back ;)

We called at short notice to ask for a table, had a pleasant conversation, and were confirmed that we would get a table. We ran through the rain, arrived, pointed out the phone call, and the server acted "clueless" and said that only he answers the phone and couldn't remember. We were then offered the opportunity to sit outside under an awning. We quickly tested the spot, waited 15 minutes without anyone speaking to us, and then left. The wind and rain also contributed to this, as we weren't really protected. Perhaps this is an isolated experience, but in terms of friendliness, understanding, and service, this was a 6. If I don't have any room for walk-in guests, that's perfectly fine, but please not like this.

We went in after lunch hour so it wasnt crowded nor busy. Took us a while to get the foods served, but worth the waiting. Food tastes good and live up to good comments. We had pork knuckle and the veal snitzel. The cranberry sauce really brings the snitzel to next level. Pork knuckle could be more crispy i think but it doesnt affect the overall experience. The staple potato dumpling is not to my liking (no offense!) it just taste bland and has weird texture.

We had a super delicious, spontaneous lunch. All the dishes were delicious, and the service was very attentive and courteous from Miquel (I think that's what the nameplate says)! If we're ever in Munich again, we'll definitely stop by again.

A top spot for good, home-style food. They still cook their own food here, and you can taste it. The Sauerbraten with Bohemian dumplings was excellent. The Kaiserschmarrn was also excellent. Service was friendly and attentive. Prices are reasonable for Munich. Highly recommended.

We ended up coming here twice within a single week – simply because the whole experience hit the mark. The service is super friendly and impressively quick. The atmosphere is classically Bavarian, exactly what you’d hope for when dining in the heart of the city. The food? Solid. Generous portions, authentic flavors, and genuinely good beer. On our second visit, we had the veal cream goulash and the Bavarian burrata with tomato gnocchi – both absolutely delicious. The first time, we tried the Käsespätzle (soft egg noodles with melted cheese and fried onions), which were a full-on comfort food win. We also shared the tasting platter with smoked salmon, roast beef, Bavarian cold cuts, vegetables, and spreads served with hearty sourdough bread. Definitely recommended.

We ate here this evening with guests from abroad because the reviews were good, but unfortunately we were very disappointed. The service was impatient and stressed, even though the restaurant was only half full. We ordered two sets of knuckles, entrecote, and Wiener schnitzel. The quality and presentation were unfortunately in line with your average student bar. The Wiener schnitzel was greasy and the breading was soft and soggy, served with small baked potato halves when it should have been potato salad – a complete disaster. The stringy entrecote was also served with these potato halves, along with four small overcooked pieces of green-grayish artichoke – a strange combination. Were leftovers used? The knuckles and dumplings were also of average quality. The service then told us that today was the new chef's first day, which explained a lot. Unfortunately, we discovered that the quality had declined massively with the change of chef, and for this reason I can no longer recommend the restaurant. The landlord should urgently improve this and carefully control what goes over the pass.

It's a shame that the restaurant, especially the bar, has been ruined since the fire. Serving veal patties in a bowl with potato salad and arugula stalks was also very inappropriate. The staff had a hard time speaking Bavarian. Unfortunately, that was the last time!!!!

The service was very good. Everything was always delivered quickly. The food wasn't bad either, and now comes the big but: The portions were very small, so the price-performance ratio wasn't right.

Seven of us were able to spontaneously get a table just before 9 on a Saturday evening, and the service was super friendly and authentic. We had schnitzel and almond Kaiserschmarrn, and we all enjoyed it immensely! We definitely recommend it and would come again if we're back in Munich :)

The food was average, but the service was disappointing. We waited too long to order and get the bill. When we ordered drinks, we didn't order a glass each because we can't drink much. The waiter immediately got rude and questioned whether we ordered enough. It was very disrespectful and a very unpleasant experience.

My wife, three-year-old daughter, and I had a lovely family dinner in the garden. The girl said, "That was delicious," and she loves the little lamp in the tree. The waiter was also very nice and brought out some great colored pencils for our daughter.

We stopped in here on a vacation to Bavaria. The food was incredible! Genuinely the best German food we ate on our trip. The Weiner Schnitzel was excellently cooked. The breading was light and the meat was tender and juicy. Thee Käse Spätzle was perfect. Not at all overpowered by the cheese and texture of the noodles was perfect. We also had the Sauerbraten which was delicious and moist. The polenta it was served with was perfect. Great beer, great food. Would definitely go back!

A cozy, modern restaurant with delicious food and a wonderful (child-)friendly waiter who immediately brought crayons, had the children's meals prepared extra quickly, and even explicitly wished the kids a good appetite. This makes you feel like a welcome guest, even as a family!

Nice atmosphere inside. We sat outside (voluntarily), which was OK but nothing special. Service was friendly. I had half a pork knuckle with napkin dumplings, as I prefer them to potato dumplings. Unfortunately, the dumplings were a disappointment – overcooked and very greasy. The knuckle had a nice crust, but overall, it was relatively flavorless. My companion had a Wiener Schnitzel. At €31, it was significantly overpriced. Two relatively small schnitzels and a handful of new potatoes cut into small pieces. No salad, not even a salad garnish.

Right in the heart of Munich, yet very relaxed. The food was first-class. We had fish with salad and a great sauce dip. Some of the portions aren't too big, so we also had the almond pancake. Wow! Absolutely delicious! I highly recommend the restaurant/inn and the food.

Excellent place for those who want to try traditional Bavarian cuisine. The food is fantastic, and the staff is friendly and professional. It's best to call a few days in advance because it's very difficult to find a table. The atmosphere in the dining room is also very pleasant. Highly recommended restaurant.

A truly Bavarian restaurant with hearty food, a great atmosphere, and excellent service. The menu offers Bavarian delicacies with a twist, and the beer is Paulaner. The delicious coleslaw is a must-try. Modern restaurant decor makes you feel right at home. Our waitress, Isabella, is priceless. She loves her job and her guests. The shady outdoor seating area is a real asset. Prices are fair. Lots of tourists, but thankfully, the place is anything but touristy.

As a Straubinger, I've known the location well for over 10 years, and the beer garden with its mature trees (in close proximity to the center) is basically a dream. Unfortunately, there's been a change of ownership and staff here, too, and with it, the quality has declined significantly, thankfully not the taste of the food. Initially quite pleasant, the service had to be urgently reminded of repeat orders. When it came to billing, there was no longer any checking of the ordered food and drinks; instead, they simply quoted the total price. While I understand the effort required to clean the beer garden due to the flowers and leaves, the condition is still dingy. A shame.

We had a fantastic party. The weather was great, the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. Martin remained calm and handled the whole thing with aplomb. Simply fantastic.

A lovely, shady outdoor dining area, but unfortunately, there are too many wasps and annoying flies, making it almost impossible to eat. The knuckle of pork can't compare to those at the Schweizerhaus in Vienna.

Somewhat disappointing. A traditional inn at the Viktualienmarkt. I expected more from the food. The veal cream goulash was bland, with little meat and a lackluster sauce. The Bavarian cream was probably a convenience product. A shame.

I hate giving bad reviews, but the "Brotzeitplatte" (snack platter) was absolutely terrible. €20 for three small plates with tiny portions. The liver dumplings were so bland, even semolina dumplings had more flavor. Luckily, Paulaner Spezi (€4) is still available. When we arrived, we were seated at a long table. Later, the waitress told us to move to another table because they were expecting a large group. It was a disgrace.

We do a Riksja tour through the city centre and ask our guide where we can have a good lunch. He drops us off here, an excellent tip. The restaurant is within walking distance of Marienplatz but just outside the hustle and bustle and all the tourists. The courtyard is wonderfully shady and quietly situated. The service is friendly and quick. We quickly get a drink and not much later our dishes. The Burrata is great, served with delicious gnocchi. Very tasty. The homemade käsespätzle are delicious! Good rich cheese flavour. A delicious authentic lunch in a beautiful place! Recommended!

The restaurant is cozy and not too crowded. The service is consistently friendly. Every meal I've ordered there so far has always been excellent. My absolute favorite, however, is the Mandelschmarrn (a kind of pancake with almonds). It's simply amazing, and worth a visit for that reason alone.

5 stars for the food, 1 for the elderly waitress. The food was really good, but the elderly lady couldn't decide which language she wanted to speak to us in. Even though we spoke to her in German the entire time, she responded in German and English, and we didn't force her to speak to us in the other language. She didn't seem very friendly.

I'd happily give each 6 stars! The food was absolutely delicious, the almond pancake was divine, the service was extremely friendly and accommodating, and the outdoor ambiance was wonderful in the beautiful weather. We'd love to come back!

I personally think this is the best garden to drink Hacker keller bier in Munich.

During my visit to Munich, I was privileged to be a guest at the Zum Straubinger Inn twice. The service was courteous, friendly, and prompt each time. I found the inn to be a medium-sized, rustic Bavarian restaurant. It's a bit off the beaten track, with staff dressed in traditional Bavarian leather and dirndls. I was able to try the roast pork and half a pork knuckle. Both dishes were incredibly tasty, with a wonderful crispy crust. A full 5 stars for that.

Online reservations were easy. The service was friendly and quick. The food arrived quickly and hot from the kitchen. The portions were filling, and the prices were really reasonable. A great selection of Hacker Pschorr beers. The cozy atmosphere is also recommended for smaller groups. The restrooms are clean. The restaurant is very close to the Viktualienmarkt. Card payments are accepted. We'll be happy to come back.
