Das Essen schmeckt sehr gut, jedoch sind die Preise mitunter sehr überteuert. 2 Scheiben Bruchetta für 12 Euro sind defenitiv zu teuer, trotzdem sehr lecker. Service könnte besser sein.

Gutes Personal, sehr gute Küche

Das Essen war gut, keine Frage. was mich aber sehr irritierte war, dass ich die Roulade bestellt habe, auf dem Teller aber nur eine halbe lag. Der Trend ist ja auch in anderen Restaurant zu beobachten. Es soll nichts weggeworfen werden, Portionen werden kleiner. Dasit ist nachvollziehbar und so weit auch in Ordnung. Ein halbe Roulade zu verkaufen ist aber nicht in Ordnung. Ja, anderen legen 2-3 Minirouladen auf den Teller, was am Ende auch nicht mehr ergibt, aber wenn man schon so vorgeht, dann sollte man direkt Gewichtsangeben machen und Aufpreis für mehr dazu schreiben. Ich bin sicherlich mit fast 2m Körpergröße kein Durchschnittesser, aber auch ich will satt werden - und ich rede nicht von überfressen.

Wir waren dort mit einer großen Gruppe für eine private Veranstaltung, hatten Kuchen vorbestellt und haben nicht bekommen, was wir bestellt haben. Es gab nur auf Nachfrage am Ende die Information, der Koch hätte falsch gelesen. Ich zitiere: "Ihren Gästen hat es geschmeckt , die haben nämlich genug davon gegessen." Preise nicht verhältnismäßig, Miniaturkuchenstücke, alle unterschiedlich groß.

Haben dort den Geburtstag meines Vaters gefeiert und was soll ich sagen? Es war alles perfekt! Angefangen beim leckeren Essen, über den freundlichen Service der jungen Frau und dem netten Ambienten! Der Service war sehr zuvorkommend, nicht aufdringlich und dennoch absolut präsent und aufmerksam. Wir würden immer wieder kommen - Danke für den schönen Abend und das sehr leckere Essen! Wir kommen wieder!

Ich bin zufällig in der Landküche zum schwatten Jans gelandet, weil ich wegen starken Regens von der Autobahn abgefahren bin und mich dann spontan entschlossen habe, Essen zu gehen. Das war eine gute Entscheidung, denn ich bekam wirklich leckeres Essen und äußerst freundlichen Service. Und da der Kaffeevollautomat kaputt war, machte man mir noch einen großen Becher Filterkaffee, weil ich gesagt hatte, dass ich noch zwei Stunden fahren muss. Wenn ich mich mal wieder in der Nähe von Dorsten/Marl befinde, komme ich garantiert wieder vorbei. ETA: Ich war am 1. März in Dorsten und habe wieder hier gegessen und das Essen war wieder sehr lecker und die Bedienung sehr freundlich. Da ich das im Menü inbegriffene Dessert aus Allergiegründen nicht essen konnte, bekam ich stattdessen ein Eis.

Wir waren im Rahmen des Menükarussells mit einer großen Gruppe im Zum Schwatten Jans und hatten einen richtig schönen Abend. Der Kontakt vorab war schon sehr angenehm und unkompliziert. Das Essen war wirklich top. Egal ob Fleisch, Fisch, vegetarisch oder vegan, alles war auf einem gleich hohen Niveau und sehr liebevoll zubereitet. Der Service war freundlich, aufmerksam und trotz der Gruppengröße absolut souverän. Jeder wusste genau, wer was bekommt. Die Einrichtung ist stellenweise etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber bei der Qualität von Küche und Service fällt das kaum ins Gewicht. Klare Empfehlung.

Wir waren mit 9 Personen im Rahmen des Menükarussells zu Gast und rundum begeistert. Alle vier Gänge waren hervorragend – geschmacklich auf sehr hohem Niveau und äußerst ansprechend angerichtet. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir den sehr freundlichen und kompetenten Service. Wasser und Wein wurden aufmerksam und regelmäßig nachgeschenkt, sodass wir uns jederzeit bestens umsorgt fühlten. Ein rundum gelungener Abend – wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. Klare 5 Sterne!

Wir haben das Restaurant spontan besucht. Mein Mann hat Lammfleisch bestellt. Leider war das Fleisch offensichtlich nicht frisch und hatte einen sehr unangenehmen Geruch. Es war so schlimm dass meinem Mann übel wurde und er kurz davor war , sich zu übergeben. Ich wollte das Problem dem Kellner mitteilen,aber mein Mann hat darauf verzichtet da das Restaurant sehr voll war und er keine unangenehme Situationen oder Aufmerksamkeit verursachen wollte. Schade, den eigentlich hatten wir uns auf den Besuch gefreut. Wir hoffen dass in Zukunft mehr auf die Qualität und Frische der Speisen geachtet wird. Wir waren da 01.02.2026.

Jedes mal ein Genuss! Das Essen ist einfach köstlich!

Wir waren mit Freunden erstmalig in den neuen Räumlichkeiten, um am Menükarussell teilzunehmen. Es war ein rundum gelungener Abend. Wir wurden sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend bedient in einem modernen gepflegten Ambiente. Das Menü selbst ließ nichts zu wünschen übrig: die einzelnen Gänge stellten eine originelle Kreation von lokalen Zutaten in moderner Zubereitung dar und waren nicht nur schmackhaft, sondern auch gut bekömmlich. Die ausgewählten Begleitweine passten hervorragend. Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert!!!

Wir waren heute zum 2. Mal hier essen und wir waren erneut begeistert. Sehr raffinierte und schmackhafte Gerichte, auch für Vegetarier. Sehr freundlicher Service. Absolut empfehlenswert.

Beim vorbeifahren kurz angehalten weil der Hinger groß war. Leckeres Schnitzel mit sehr guter Balkan Soße und Salat gegessen. Kann ich echt sehr gut empfehlen. Einfach Lecker👍

Die Gerichte sind innovativ kombiniert. Man merkt, das hier jemand in der Küche steht, der sein Handwerk liebt und Spaß am Experimentieren hat. Die Verwendung von regionalen Produkten sind genauso hervorzuheben wie der hohe Anteil an Bio-Zutaten. Es gibt ein gutes Gefühl wenn man weiß dass nicht nur der Geschmack, sondern auch die Herkunft der Lebensmittel stimmt. Der Service ist sehr aufmerksam und liebenswürdig. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis ist absolut angemessen. Wir werden Stammkunden. 😊

Ob zum Spargel- oder Gänsebuffet oder wie heute an Weihnachten, noch nie wurden wir hier geschmacklich enttäuscht. Eine tolle Auswahl an Vorspeisen, Hauptgerichten und Desserts und alles qualitativ richtig gut. Wir kommen gerne wieder ❤️

Waren zum Wild- und Gänsebuffet dort und waren begeistert.

Wir hatten ein sehr schönen Abend, wir waren am 20.12.2025 mit 7 Personen zum Xmas Dinner dort & wir wurden vom Service so toll bedient mit einer Freundlichkeit und Humor was ich wirklich toll fand. Das essen war sehr sehr lecker, alles kam zeitgleich an den Tisch. Wir alle waren so zufrieden mit unserem Essen ob Vor,Haupt oder Nachspeise es war wirklich ein schöner Abend! Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder 😘

Nach dem die Besitzer gewechselt haben, ist hier auf jeden Fall Hoffnung für die Zukunft. Eine moderne Karte, viele vegetarische und vegane Optionen. Kartenzahlung problemlos möglich. Gute Küche. Auf Allergene wird hingewiesen und entsprechende Kompromisse werden eingegangen. Einzig, dass es keine dedizierte Allergeninformation gibt, ist schade. Für den gezahlten Preis fand ich die Portionsgröße jedoch leider etwas schwach. Ansonsten sehr lecker und sehr freundlich.

Also wenn ich hier die ganzen anderen Bewertungen lese könnte ich meinen, ich war in einem anderen Restaurant... zum dritten Mal trafen wir uns mit Freunden dort zum Gänse-Buffet, da das die letzten 2 Jahre immer hervorragend war. Gestern nun waren wir das letzte dort. Fast alle Speisen waren total versalzen, so daß wir das nicht essen konnten. Aufgefüllt wurde nur auf Anfrage und das auch erst eine halbe Stunde später. Die versalzenen Beilagen standen noch eine Stunde später da, so daß man, wenn man satt werden wollte, sich am Dessert satt essen musste - nie wieder werden wir dort essen gehen und das ganze dann noch für 46€ pro Person, unverschämt!!!

There were four of us at the restaurant for dinner. Plenty of parking spaces on Thursday evening. The so-called conservatory was a bright, pleasant room, not too crowded. Very friendly and attentive service. For me, a vegetarian of 25 years, it was a highlight to see five vegetarian dishes on the menu (not the usual vegetables with hollandaise sauce). The chestnut balls, parsnip and potato puree with spinach, mushrooms, and carrot chips were very creatively and attractively presented. Everything was delicious, including the sauce. It's clear that the chef doesn't just serve vegetarian food to fill people up. The other three guests were also very satisfied with their non-vegetarian dishes. The dessert, Herrencreme, was simply delicious! In short: We'll be back!

We enjoyed the country-style cuisine at Schwarzen Jans again last night. Delicious food and very attentive service. A small but excellent menu, adapted to the season, with additional game and pumpkin dishes. Although we were more than full, we still managed to squeeze in the complimentary dessert, which we hadn't even ordered :-). We'll definitely be back!

Today we went to dinner at the Landküche zum schwatten Jans for my big birthday, and I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. The new menu has some truly culinary highlights. Each dish is harmonious, flavorfully balanced, and exceptional. The combination of top-quality ingredients speaks volumes about the chef and his skill in serving an outstanding culinary delight. I celebrated my milestone birthday with my friends, neighbors, and family. The buffet was amazing, and the service was simply fantastic. We started with a small champagne reception in the morning. A big thank you to the whole team!

We were there for a christening and had lunch. The food was consistently very good and delicious, and the staff was attentive, quick, and friendly. The atmosphere was very pleasant with a lovely outdoor area.

My wife and I held our wedding reception here on June 7th, 2025 in the restaurant's two halls. Thanks to their open nature, we were able to organize a fantastic evening with the help of the two tenants. The food selection left nothing to be desired; there was more than enough to choose from, from vegan/vegetarian to meat or fish. We received nothing but positive feedback from our guests at the reception. The staff always paid attention to everything and quickly refilled if anything was running low. During the planning phase, we were able to drop by at any time and share our plans and wishes. The open feedback made our planning easier, especially since we were able to leave the decorating entirely in Ms. Luzha's hands; we only had to tell her what we wanted and she took care of everything else. We invited 66 people and they found a comfortable space here. We were more than satisfied with everything and can only recommend holding events here to anyone. Thank you for the wonderful evening!

The quality of the food was exceptionally good. Portions were absolutely sufficient. Attentive staff. Wait time for food was too long.

A very hospitable, homey restaurant in an unassuming location. The food impresses with its freshness, regionality, and balance. Quality, motivation, and craftsmanship are clearly evident in the dishes. Overall, it leaves you wanting more. A visit is worthwhile.

We happened upon this restaurant today by chance. The food was wonderful. The staff was absolutely competent and customer-oriented. The value for money was very good. All in all, it was great; we really enjoyed it. Definitely recommend it 😋👍👍👍👍

The ambiance is typical of many other restaurants. But don't let the first impression fool you. The service is unfussy and attentive. The chef absolutely knows his craft and serves the menu impeccably. It's simply a pleasure to enjoy the food without, or with, any unidentifiable convenience elements.

Unusual country house cuisine in the restaurant, which will reopen in February 2025. I had a dish with 400g of regional premium asparagus and new potatoes, plus 180g of lamb rump with a very tasty sauce. The whole dish was of very high quality. Top recommendation. I would also like to mention the very friendly and attentive service.

...simply a particularly good place to eat really well, something I haven't been able to enjoy for a long time in my longer life in which I've been able to experience a lot of culinary delights. The everyday taste of most of the restaurants, no matter how praised they are, is transformed here through the heart of the house, the kitchen, simple and at the same time high quality (and that's exactly the art!) to a culinary delight that lasts for a long time, like a cozy nap after the meal reverberates..., as experienced over dinner for two at Schwatten Jans and recently at a larger family celebration, which was a celebration that essentially melted in the mouth⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Histamine intolerances and celiacs also have a chance of enjoyment here, because the chef de cuisine is happily open to all kinds of wishes and does what he can to let people who can no longer eat out be human again.)

We went to Schwatten Jans for Easter brunch. When we arrived at the reserved time of 10 a.m. we were the first guests. There was a mediocre breakfast like in a conference hotel. No fish, no muesli, no yogurt, etc. When we complained about the selection and that it wasn't brunch, we were asked to stay for the lunch buffet starting at 11:30. Then there was delicious food with a good selection. But the next shock came when paying. Apparently it was brunch what we got and it cost 42 euros per person. We could hardly eat anything from the lunch buffet after breakfast. There weren't enough knives in stock and the orange juice glasses from breakfast were not exchanged for the water we drank later. Here the price and the service don't match at all. Things are said to have been much better with the old owner.

We went there for the first time today for the asparagus buffet. It was extraordinary and magnificent. No matter what, everything was super tasty, whether it was starters with salads, antipasti, etc. The asparagus was great, as was the meat and fish, and the side dishes were also great. 4 different desserts, even fresh crepes with strawberries! It was something completely different, already selected and interpreted in a modern way! 5 stars from us and with great pleasure! Taste experience and a real taste explosion thanks to sophisticated herbs and spices, for example in salads. Unfortunately I forgot to take photos. Service also great. Thank you

Since we could hardly decide what to eat - we will probably have to come more often to try everything out. We look forward to seeing you next time!

We were there today for the opening of the restaurant and are absolutely thrilled! If you value high quality, be it the food or the service, you've come to the right place! They are well-known dishes, but refined with a modern nuance that gives you a real taste explosion! You are skeptical and wonder whether the ingredients go together, because here everything is anything but "0815", when you eat you are surprised by the interaction of the ingredients and are really amazed at how delicious it is! I can only advise everyone not to miss this culinary delight. Keep it up! 🙂

We were invited there as part of a wedding party and we were just completely satisfied. The buffet was really a treat and the waitresses were incredibly friendly.

Went to Schwatten Jans for the first time at the weekend! Good home cooking with delicious food. Particularly delicious dishes at acceptable prices, especially now during the asparagus season. Particularly worth mentioning is the extremely friendly staff. The ambience has a certain charm of the 80s/90s, but that flatters the whole thing. If you want to spend a nice evening on a budget, you should visit this nice restaurant this year. Unfortunately it will be closing at the end of the year, which is very regrettable!!!

We were invited guests yesterday, the asparagus was good, the rump steak we ordered “medium” was “done”! The ambience and cleanliness (especially the floor) leave a lot to be desired. The service was a disaster. The gentleman who served us probably didn't notice much about friendliness, behavior and service!! You get better service in a canteen!

It's amazing that you probably get fake addresses in this restaurant. What's even more astonishing is that there are no more rentals taking place. Those who feel targeted should be told that the authorities will deal with it!!!

We were in the restaurant on Saturday and can recommend the restaurant. The food was great and we would particularly like to praise the service. The lady was in top order. Friendly, helpful etc.

Nice inn, delicious food and a very humorous waiter. It was really fun and delicious.

At first our reservation could not be found and the service staff reacted a bit rudely. When that cleared up, things went well. The food made up for everything: you felt full, the price-performance ratio was right and the taste of the dishes was finely tuned and really very tasty. We'll definitely be back!

The restaurant "Zum Schwatten Jans" is located between Dorsten and Marl Frentrup on the busy federal highway 225. The restaurant itself is unobtrusively furnished, but exudes a cozy atmosphere. Fast and good service as well as a very tasty three-course meal round off a pleasant stay in the restaurant. For example, what is important to me is the fact that the restaurant is also open at lunchtime. We ate whole with dumplings and red cabbage. The goose was tender and the skin was nice and crispy (I hate soggy skin). Also important to me, the boss has a great social commitment, he continued to pay his employees normally during the tough Corona period, hats off to them. There is a large parking space in front of the house to park your vehicle. We felt very comfortable here and will definitely be happy to come back. The price/performance ratio is very good, where you can get half a goose, breast + boll, for less than €30.00 as a 3-course menu. We were a bit embarrassed to pay so little for so much delicious food. There was a decent tip for that.
