Everything great! Stayed with Krystina, who was super nice! Service was a 10/10!

Great restaurant with a great atmosphere and delicious food! The waitress Krystina was incredibly friendly and attentive, such service makes the visit special! I'll definitely be back!

We had a very good meal there yesterday on November 8th, 2024. The dishes were all very tasty and, above all, freshly prepared. Not the usual stuff like other restaurants of this type. I would particularly like to praise the outstandingly courteous and friendly service from Sinan, who served us. Thank you very much, we'll be back.

The service person (Denise) was super competent, friendly and helpful. She was always ready but absolutely not intrusive. The food was delicious, but the fried noodles (on November 2nd, 2024) were unfortunately cold and the strawberries were very mushy. The rest was super tasty and having it freshly prepared worked really well and was ready quickly considering the high number of guests.

Wir waren Stammkunden aber werden das Restaurant nie wieder aufsuchen. Die Qualität und der Geschmack der Speisen hat ganz extrem nachgelassen. Wir waren alle vier total enttäuscht.

Extremely disappointed with this store, we only got there around 8 p.m., ordered a table online, and had also read that they start dismantling the buffet 30 minutes before closing time. They close at 10 p.m., When we went back to the buffet at 9:15 p.m., a lot of things had already been cleared away, the grill was almost clean, tongs and spoons for the fresh ingredients were gone We then asked a waitress and were told that they were clearing away now and that we had been told that when we arrived, but that was definitely not the case, Complained to the manager, after that we were allowed to take something for the grill, unfortunately the food was swimming in fat and didn't taste good at all, despite different sauces. It's really outrageous to dismantle the buffet so early, we've never experienced that before, you could also reserve a table online for later than 8 p.m. But it's very sporty to eat in peace when the buffet is dismantled so early. Shortly after 8 p.m., several containers were almost empty and apparently weren't refilled. There is a very small note on the drinks menu stating that it will be dismantled 30 minutes before closing time, It was impossible to explain why it was cleared away sooner, won't be coming back and can't recommend it!!!

Denise in particular was extremely friendly and made our stay a little nicer! With staff like this you'll want to come back! For the restaurant I have to say that the selection of vegetarian, ready-made dishes is almost nil or very basic. Very meat/fish heavy. Great for me but not worth it for my wife given the prices. Unfortunately.

As someone who has always enjoyed coming here, I found the visit quite shocking. The food was incredibly old and the seafood tasted spoiled. Tongs and bowls were missing everywhere and the plates were dirty and not cleared afterwards, leaving us with a dirty, unpleasant table at the end of the visit. It felt unsanitary and it was difficult to find anything edible. Here are a few pictures of the selection. The staff was nice, but you can see the restaurant was chronically understaffed. Really a disappointing experience, hopefully it doesn't end in food poisoning!

We haven't been to XIAO in a long time because we just didn't like the food anymore. Today we tried it again and were surprised. The food was very tasty, the service, Krystina, was very nice, attentive and accommodating. Thanks for a nice Sunday afternoon

The food is not refilled and the containers are often empty for a long time. In addition, once the food has been refilled, it gets cold very quickly. The counter where you can put together your own food is often not stocked and half of the items are empty. Furthermore, there are hardly any plates and cutlery available. The range of different dishes on offer has become significantly worse over the years, but the prices have risen significantly.

A bit lukewarm. Not good at all for lunch. Fresh counter good. Far too much glutamate in the finished food

Very very busy on the weekend. Good buffet, price performance is also OK, the only thing that always bothers me is that on weekends the acoustics are very bad due to the crowds and you have to speak relatively loudly so that the person you're speaking to can understand you. Otherwise great location and modern atmosphere with lots of space. Addendum November 2024: Unfortunately, the food has become drastically worse compared to a few years ago. On the one hand, the selection has been significantly reduced to cheap and bulky items. Lots of salads, lots of dishes with loads of vegetables "adulterated" with less meat in them. No more baked bananas, baked pudding on offer. Dessert drastically reduced to the cheap brownie and cake parts. A plate of churros that were no longer refilled. There is no more salmon in the fresh buffet as there is only some inferior frozen food. On the other hand, and this is worse: on Friday evenings from 6 to 8:30 p.m. the shop is packed (there are probably over 100 people there) and sometimes no food like duck, chicken or cooked salmon is served for hours. There wasn't even the cheapest of the cheapest fried rice or noodles. There were so many people walking back and forth with empty plates. disaster And then completely stressed cooks at the grill who are just overwhelmed with plates from customers who want meat. So the concept is right, but stinginess is not cool here. Because the full price still has to be paid on such an evening without getting anything in return.

So, I think there's a new owner there now or something. The last time I was there was about 3 years ago, and again today (11/1/24). Compared to before, I liked the buffet offered today, including desserts and grill very good . There were even a few completely new dishes such as small potatoes in herbs and garlic oil (which you don't know from Chinese). There are a few small drawbacks for some bone-hard/cartilaginous duck. The service was noticeably friendly right from the start and was quick to bring drinks etc. I'm really very critical when it comes to eating out these days (to be honest, it's just a rip-off everywhere), but I can only recommend XIAO compared to other restaurants at the moment!😃

Went with my daughter this afternoon and we were both very excited about the large, delicious selection and lovely atmosphere. We ate at Xiao today and can only recommend it :) FOOD Top (there are a lot of new dishes compared to before). We were served by Denise, she was super friendly and explained us about the cool 2good2go boxes. We will definitely come back :) The only drawback is that at just under 30 euros per person, it's a bit too steep to dine here often. However, it will happen every now and then 😄

Well I have to say the quality and ingredients have deteriorated over the years. As an example, the ice cream, there is only vegan ice cream. The chocolate fountain no longer delivers Nutella but rather sweetened condensed milk as chocolate sauce. Food that goes to the wok chef comes back raw (a nogo for fish) even if there is a lot to do in the evening, it can be done better. Plates that have been used remain at the table for 20 minutes without being cleared away. Overall, I think the place has deteriorated.

Food: Plenty of choice and was always replenished. Service: A very friendly employee who was attentive, cleared away the empty plates quickly and also quickly brought drinks to the table. Thank you Krystina for the excellent service! Ambiance: Everything was well thought out, although it was well attended, there was no rush. We felt comfortable and we will recommend it to others!

Food is freshly prepared and deliciously dressed (sauces & dressing) and is very tasty. No run-of-the-mill dishes. Service was very friendly but, like everywhere else, too few staff so used plates sometimes had to wait a long time to be cleared away. The ambience is different compared to other buffet restaurants.

Well, that wasn't the first time, but the last. Food didn't taste good at all!!! Souse very salty. Rice for sushi sticky and "100 years old". We were there with a large group, 9 out of 10 people had the same opinion. I'm sorry.

We spontaneously went there on Sunday evening to end our vacation. I am very impressed by the service and friendliness of the employees. The waitresses do a great job. Mr. Dishanan served us, he was extremely friendly and attentive. Thank you very much! The food always looks freshly prepared and I found it was refilled sufficiently. Except for the ice cream, some flavors went quickly. Since I eat vegan, the menu is unfortunately not very varied for me. The signs at the sushi bar were kind of messed up too. I also think it's a bit of a shame that when it's freshly prepared according to one's own creation, everything is prepared on the same base. Unfortunately for me that doesn't work at all. I also think it's a shame that the peanut sauce, for example, isn't even declared vegetarian, nor are the spring rolls. There is still room for improvement these days. The ambience is appropriate for a buffet location. I like the upper area a little better, it's not quite as loud. Even the strange smell that could be smelled on Sunday wasn't quite as intense up there. All in all, it was a nice evening for me with my husband.

I ate here for the first time on Sunday last week. The sushi is great and my service was great. But the carpaccio was my highlight. I would like to come back again and again, especially for the service.

Wir waren mit dem Besuch im Xiao in Marl leider sehr unzufrieden. Das Preis Leistungs Verhältnis war absolut ungerechtfertigt. Die Qualität des Essens war sehr ungenügend. Die meisten Speisen waren kalt. Wir haben uns durchprobiert aber leider nichts gefunden, was geschmeckt hat und warm war. Auch die typisch chinesischen Nudeln haben sehr stark nach Teig geschmeckt. Auf den Tellern die wir uns zubereiten lassen haben war immer etwas, was wir nicht selbst ausgewählt haben. Auch das Geschirr war nicht hygienisch gereinigt. Essensreste waren noch auf einigen Tellern am buffet. Ungenießbar! Wir haben bereits direkt zu Anfang die Kellnerin angesprochen und mitgeteilt, dass wir sehr unzufrieden sind. Leider ohne Entgegenkommen/ Vorschlag etc. Wir sind uns bewusst, dass nicht alles 100% sein kann und schon gar nicht die Kellnerin der Grund für mindere Qualität ist, aber wir mussten uns quasi durchprobieren und haben nichts gefunden was qualitativ dem Preis von knapp 30€ p.P. entspricht. Das Fleisch bestand entweder 50% aus Fett oder war von Sehnen durchzogen. Um es mit Worten zu erklären war unser Abendessen heute eher ein „vom Vor-vortag leicht erwärmtes Imbissessen“.

We came here spontaneously today and without an appointment. Right at the entrance, Denise gave us a warm welcome and accompanied us to the table. That made a very good impression on us. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also really nice and clean. The food in the restaurant was excellent! A big compliment to the kitchen. Our waiter Jonny was also very friendly and attentive. We will definitely come back here and recommend this restaurant.

Super tasty and lots of choice. But you also have to be a good eater to eat out almost €30 in the evening. Cleanliness on the floor e.g. Stairs dusty and cobwebs, could be cleaner. But around the buffet it was very clean. One star deducted because the sushi is no longer gluten free.

But that's complaining at a high level... Otherwise everything was clean and tidy, I was impressed by the fern wall in the entrance area and the Chinese figures - arranged one behind the other - in front of it. The location with the high ceiling and the decorative glass box in the room with imaginative furnishings also hit the mark. In short: You found 3 new fans and it definitely wasn't the last time... There is no *Chinese* in the area that great

I can only wholeheartedly recommend the Xiao in Marl. The ambience is unique and the dining areas are very large, so that there is space for many people without it being too cramped. The food has never disappointed me; it is always warm and regularly replenished. The waitress who served us (Krystina) was very professional and confident. The plates were taken away immediately so that nothing ever piled up and there was always room for new plates. People regularly asked if everything was OK, so you didn't have to wait to order a new drink or pay. Overall we were very happy with the visit :)
