Hotel Loemuehle in Marl

The standard itself is okay by German standards. The service was very friendly and attentive, and the breakfast was quite okay. BUT... the single rooms were a disaster. Terribly narrow beds, soft mattresses (I don't like them), and worst of all, the water was COLD from arrival to departure. Bathing and using such water was a disaster considering the price and the hotel stay.

Great restaurant and super beer garden. Friendly service and delicious food at reasonable prices. Definitely a repeat visit. 👍🏻

Italian Night...CATASTROPHE! No decorations, bare tables, waiting for orders like at a school kiosk. Carelessly prepared food. The taste was abysmal and the quality was terrible. According to the organizer, the first drink surcharge was used to pay the GEMA fees, which I consider outright fraud. We, like many others, are extremely disappointed. We will definitely not be going back!!!

Only the restaurant/event location will be rated. First and last time! We had purchased tickets for the Italian evening. €30 per person for the buffet and drinks. They advertised a free first drink. Then, when we arrived, we were surprised: No buffet, just a small selection of dishes. The portions were small and all tasted like convenience foods. The prices were outrageously high. Even after asking, we were unable to get any information about the ingredients and were referred to the main menu. There was no allergen breakdown here either. Furthermore, the ingredients used were completely different from those listed on the menu. No one on site even knew about the free drink. The evening was a culinary and organizational disaster!!!! Absolutely outrageous and a rip-off!

The Loemühlel restaurant is highly recommended. In addition to the delicious food, the prices are also reasonable. The service is friendly and attentive. The interior is also well-designed. It's a shame they don't offer seafood pizza.

The restaurant is located in a historic building, which is quite charming in itself – unfortunately, the potential for setting the tables wasn't fully realized. This makes the atmosphere seem a bit unloving. However, the staff was friendly and attentive, which positively influenced the overall impression. We tried the Jägerschnitzel and the Paprikaschnitzel – both dishes were okay, although nothing special. The menu is fairly straightforward, which provides orientation on the one hand, but also leaves little choice. Overall, the price-performance ratio was okay. If you don't place much value on ambiance but are looking for solid, home-style cooking and friendly service, you'll be satisfied here.

It's okay, everything is a bit disorganized. The staff is friendly, but they lack clarity. Either the potatoes are missing or there are no plates. The cake buffet was completely gone after two minutes. The service needs to be improved.

We celebrated our wedding here. They offered us a complete package (preliminary discussion, requests, food and drinks, etc.), with good prices and even discounts thanks to larger groups. The day before and during the reception, they served us a very good buffet, including schnitzel, roasts, vegetables, and even handmade spaetzle at our request. It was a bit empty, but they refilled it. The service was quick and friendly. The breakfast was simple but decent. Many rooms had been renovated, but some were showing their age. The rooms where the ceremony and reception took place were decorated in a "medieval" style with ceiling paintings and decorations, in keeping with the age of the venue. Affordable yet beautifully situated in a green setting.

A nice little hotel with flair, set in a centuries-old mill complex. There's a beer garden and other facilities that weren't open at the time of our visit. The hotel is quite quirky, but the rooms are a decent size and spotlessly clean, and very quiet. There's no air conditioning, but it wasn't necessary for us. We didn't see an elevator. Many details of the historic furnishings, including historical art, are still preserved, which makes the whole place very special. Since there were only a few guests at the time, the dining options were limited, hence the point deduction. The evening menu was from the pizza delivery service next door. Not bad, but just not what you'd expect from a hotel restaurant. Breakfast can be booked for 10 euros; there was no buffet for the reasons mentioned above, but it was worth the money overall. There was no fruit, cereal, etc., but there were fresh eggs, plenty of fresh coffee, and very attentive service. The location is beautiful; it's a huge property on the outskirts of the city with a beautiful adjacent park. The in-house beer garden has a lot of flair and the historical background with a stream and mill wheel rounds it all off.

Great little beer garden where there was an event yesterday

It's a shame that the restaurant has closed, the outdoor area is unfortunately no longer in the condition I knew it to be. The overnight stay was good, the staff was very friendly!! Guys, rebuild this thing, Loemühle belongs to Marl.

We stayed in these historic walls for one night. Old, but great and modernly furnished. Large room, everything was very clean and tidy. Very quiet location, large parking lot, approx. 1.5 km to the town center. The breakfast was very mediocre. Little choice, baked rolls, the scrambled eggs were almost cold. Very nice staff.

An oasis of peace in the middle of the Ruhr area! We only stayed one night, but you could stay here longer. The hotel has a restaurant and a cozy terrace. We didn't eat at the hotel but the menu looks promising. The location is really beautiful! Quaint and cozy. The breakfast was good and plentiful, gluten-free bread was also available upon request.

We celebrated our wedding on Saturday at the hotel loehmühle. I had expectations, but they were exceeded. It was wonderful. Thank you kader and nazan 😍

My family and I visited here for one night because we were at a concert in Gelsenkirchen. The location is good, nice and quiet, a bit more remote, the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately the outdoor pool wasn't filled, but all in all it was a 10/10.

We stayed at the hotel for a weekend for the concert. There is only positive things to say about the hotel and its staff. The rooms were clean, tidy and modernly furnished. The staff was always friendly and helpful and took care of everything. The breakfast buffet is plentiful and there is something for everyone. If we ever have to go near Gelsenkirchen again, we will definitely come back.

We come here every now and then to eat, the food is consistently good, the staff is humorous and in a good mood. Always happy.....greetings from the young man! 😏

Nothing going on, hardly any guests. Some of the fried potatoes with the schnitzel were half raw.

I only visited the place briefly for a conference. But my impression is very positive.

The pillow, always the pillow. The pillow is usually the Achilles heel of a hotel. Just why? Why do you skimp on a small detail that makes such a difference to a good night's sleep? Incomprehensible. This one was junk again. The house is already a bit shabby and looks unkempt on the outside. The breakfast was quite good despite baked rolls and cold cuts from the discounter.

The ambience suggests more than the food actually suggests. Hollandaise sauce is a ready-made product. Veal liver was great, mashed potatoes were really homemade, braised onions and apples were great but the whole thing was “drowned” in a tasteless sauce. Also the portion was very small. The starter bread is similar to a pizza and really tasty, but the salad plate is more standard and you could mix your own vinegar and oil dressing. As long as you had both...mayo was available in sachets etc. The drinks menu was not brought but was immediately asked to order. No new orders were taken during the meal. No receipt or invoice was issued. The new service staff tried very hard but everything seemed a bit disorganized. (Ordering with a tray) There is room for improvement. Maybe we'll come back to try it again next year. The ambience is definitely worth a visit, even if it's just for a beer after a walk in the nearby park.

A nice and quiet hotel with very friendly, competent and helpful staff. Breakfast is rich and very good! My single room was very well equipped and a real oasis of peace. I'm already looking forward to the next visit!!!

I can only rate the restaurant. The food did not meet our expectations. The view outside looked more like a run-down theme park. We won't be coming back.

I pre-ordered breakfast during the week and was disappointed. The buffet looked very looted. However, the service tried hard. Tried to save the situation. Nevertheless, we will go somewhere else in the future.

A wonderful experience at the Restaurant and Hotel Loemühle! The hotel room was extremely tidy and structured, with a kettle and free consumables - a big plus! In the restaurant I enjoyed a top quality pizza that did full justice to the pictures. Beer orders were processed quickly and the staff was extremely accommodating and polite. Today (Saturday) we cycled over 20 km to Dorfkrug Marl because we wanted to drink a beer and eat something in the sunshine in the beer garden there! According to the homepage, the Loemühlen terraces should be open. Opening hours Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. Unfortunately we found ourselves in front of a locked door at 2 p.m. An employee who was about to go into the building said quite succinctly that the beer garden wasn't open and that the restaurant wouldn't open until 5 p.m.! The reference to the homepage was also succinctly stated: "The boss probably hasn't changed the homepage yet"! answered. We were really angry and felt pretty disappointed! Tip to the boss: Please always update your homepage so as not to scare away the nice customers! Well, luckily we got a well-deserved beer and a delicious schnitzel not far from Bauer Südfeld.

I've been here several times but today I'm very disappointed with this result. Schnitzel is just a parade, not lovingly prepared. Very unusual, so unloving. Spices are also missing. Chip shop is better.

An old mill indeed. Cozy style and beautifully renovated. You have to be a fan of this architectural style, anyone who is and/or doesn't mind it will feel right at home here. The breakfast is rich and fresh. The staff friendly and helpful. A great stay at the Loemühle. Thanks to the entire team.

Great cozy Christmas market with great children's entertainment

So I'm not sure how to rate it... the location is definitely beautiful... Especially in summer... The friendliness of the employees is usually good when superiors are not around. For example, we got married in a civil ceremony but didn't book the event there, apart from the champagne reception... The employee sent us to the terrace to take photos or approved it after we asked, but we noticed afterwards that he was getting into trouble because people probably don't like being on the terrace to take photos. The room for the wedding ceremony on the ground floor was definitely good... not as rustic as when our friends got married upstairs, but still good.

War da gestern essen und muss sagen war echt sehr positiv überrascht. Alles lief super. Das essen war einfach nur grandios und alle waren super freundlich.

Gestern sind wir spontan auf dem Restaurant gefahren und haben uns das angeschaut mit mein Sohn und es gab Dort Buffet es war wirklich sehr lecker und es gab auch viel zur Auswahl also war für jeden was dabei

Einfach nur genial, Buffet war top und essen und auch das Hotel war super.... bomben Service wunderbar kann man einfach nur jeden Empfehlen

Wir hatten uns zum Buffet angemeldet. Um sieben Uhr war es schon übersichtlich geplündert. Auf Rückfrage hieß es, daß bei Bedarf nachgereicht wird. Zum Hauptgang waren doch nur noch ausgetrocknete Restbestände vorhanden. Fazit: 24 € für ein armseliges, drittklassiges Essen, bemühte Bedienung und eine halbherzig Entschuldigung. Kein Entgegenkommen, oder Getränk zur Versöhnung. Sorry, aber definitiv keine Empfehlung.

Top hotel met lieve zorgzame personeel! Top locatie! Iedereen spreek daar goed Engels! Ze hebben daar een " huis hond" die Koeki heet, zo lief! Deze hotel is echt een aanrader!

Waren dort mit der Kulinaris Card essen. Hervorragend und sehr zu empfehlen.

Frühstücksbuffet ist nur zu empfehlen. In Marl gibt es nichts vergleichbares zu den Preis / Leistung Verhältnis.

Ein schönes, gepflegtes und sauberes Hotel. Das Zimmer und die Ausstattung verfügen über nötigen Komfort der den Gast entspannen lässt. Das Personal sehr hilfsbereit und sehr freundlich. Das Frühstück lässt keine Wünsche offen. Der Kaffe hilft den Tag perfekt zu starten. Und das Essen abends im Restaurant lässt den Tag perfekt ausklingen. In diesem Haus kann man wahrlich entspannen. Unser Sohn war begeistert und wir werden bestimmt wieder kommen.
