Sometimes the music is way too loud. So loud, in fact, that you practically have to shout to hear each other.

Very expensive, but the service was excellent. The steak wasn't medium, but still delicious.

We were a group of 14 for a Christmas dinner at Timberjacks Marl. Initially, we were split between two completely separate tables – apparently, a large table could only accommodate up to 13 people. As a result, the atmosphere was immediately subdued. The menu I was given had noticeable sauce stains, which was extremely unappetizing and didn't reflect well on the restaurant's cleanliness. Based on numerous other reviews, I had printed out my order beforehand and given it to the waiter: Smoked pulled beef burger, sweet potato fries, deep cheese dip, and coleslaw. We were eventually allowed to sit at a shared table because other guests hadn't shown up – two chairs were quickly added. For a short time, the mood improved somewhat. The first main courses were served after about 20 minutes. However, I only received the coleslaw. Upon inquiring, it turned out that three-quarters of my order was missing. They apologized and promised to deliver the missing items immediately. After everyone else had finished eating, I finally got my burger. The sweet potato fries and deep-fried cheese dip were forgotten again. Since I'd already helped myself to some of the other burgers while I waited, I decided against ordering them. To be fair, the burger itself was good quality. However, I was disappointed that the coleslaw was served in a bamboo bowl with a parchment paper lining. Given the current discussions about potentially harmful substances in parchment paper, I found this presentation very unappetizing. On the plus side, the plates were cleared very quickly – perhaps a little too quickly. My plate was cleared while I was still holding the salad bowl. In restaurants of this price range, I expect the tables to be cleared only when everyone has actually finished. It seemed more like they were just trying to clear the table as quickly as possible. My seatmate's experience was also quite curious: When ordering dessert (Gentle Angel Cream), the waiter pointed out, unprompted, that it "tastes extremely like quark and many people don't like it." All in all, the experience left a very mixed impression. For the price, I would have expected better organization, cleanliness, and service. There are cheaper alternatives right next door where at least you're not warned about the food.

Christmas Party at Timberjacks a Complete Disaster We were a group of twelve guests at Timberjacks Marl for our Christmas party and unfortunately had a thoroughly disappointing experience. The service left much to be desired right from the start. Drink orders were only partially taken: The waiter initially took the orders of half our group, then went to another table, chatted with the guests there for about ten minutes, and only then returned to take the drink orders of the remaining guests. Furthermore, the wrong drinks were served several times, or they were incorrectly assigned. This negative experience continued with the meal. The two meat platters we ordered were served cold. When we complained, the waiter simply held his hand briefly over the meat and commented that it was "warm." We had to point out that at most the top layer was lukewarm, while the meat underneath remained cold. Even after reheating, the platters were only moderately warm, while the accompanying baked potato with sour cream remained ice cold. Other dishes also failed to meet expectations: A skewer of filet tips we ordered consisted not of filet tips, but of tough, inedible pieces of sirloin; a steak was served cold; and the burgers were dry due to a lack of sauce. Dessert also revealed further quality issues: Three out of four waffles we ordered were cold. The service was inattentive, unfocused, and at times unprofessional throughout our visit. While our polite complaints were met with apologies, no solutions were offered, nor was any apparent effort made to improve the situation. The way our criticism was handled was particularly inappropriate: When we mentioned that we also run a restaurant, the waiter replied, "Yes, we hope you learn from our mistakes and do better." We were also told, "We'll do better next time." When a colleague then stated that there wouldn't be a next time for us, the waiter simply commented that this was the way it was. ] ... Overall, neither the quality of the food nor the service met the expectations one would have for a restaurant of this category. Our visit was unfortunately extremely disappointing. We hope that this feedback will be taken seriously and lead to improvements.

Credit where credit is due, the Oklahoma Smash Burger yesterday was a revelation. The service was a bit lacking; everything was okay, up to today's standards, but things were better back in the day ;-) ... except for the Smash Burgers, which weren't available....

Disappointing and Unprofessional Visit – Christmas Party Completely Ruined We wanted to hold our Christmas party here and were a group of twelve at Timberjacks. Since we all work in the restaurant industry and deal with service, quality, and guests on a daily basis, we know exactly what to expect – and what not to expect. This visit was all the more disappointing for that reason. Right from the start, we had to wait far too long before anyone even took our drink order. For a large group that was clearly ready to order, this is simply unacceptable. The bad impression continued with the food: Several dishes were cold, and the ordered beef fillet bore no resemblance to a fillet – it was tough and more like a simple sirloin. Our feedback was not handled professionally. Instead of offering a solution, someone simply held their hand over the meat and said, "You can see it's warm." The general tone was anything but customer-oriented. Criticism was met with curtness or outright rejection. When I said I wouldn't be coming back after this experience, all I got was: "Well, at least I know you won't be coming back." For a Christmas party we were really looking forward to, the whole experience was simply disappointing. We certainly won't be coming back.

Unfortunately, it's nothing more than an overpriced fast-food restaurant. Chain restaurants, sadly, have no passion for good food. The steaks look like they came off a contact grill, and there's no indication of where the meat even comes from 🤷‍♂️. Other dishes at our Christmas party were cold, pre-made, tasteless, and smothered in excessive sauce. The waiter was completely overwhelmed. The ambiance, on the other hand, is "world-class," worth seeing in every respect. So, as a tourist attraction, Timberjacks has its place, but as a steakhouse, it's rather questionable. More quality than quantity would be desirable, but that's hardly feasible in chain restaurants. Young people with little experience in the restaurant business will certainly be happy here 😉 I usually give every restaurant a second chance, but not here. 18 people with a consistently negative impression are apparently enough 👍

So, to make a long story short, we were there for dinner with a group of nine. I should mention that this was our first time ever visiting Timberjacks. Four people and I ordered porterhouse steak (medium). I'd never eaten it before in my life, just like the other people. I chose it because I'd looked it up on Google to see what it actually was. And since it seemed to be something really special, I ordered it, of course. When it arrived, it looked good at first, but then came the shock. The steak was tough, and we were stunned. We paid so much money for a 700g piece of meat. The reason we didn't question it was that we were so annoyed and didn't want the hassle of complaining. We left almost a four-figure sum there for nine people. That completely put an end to any thoughts of coming back with family and friends and recommending it. Five stars for the ambiance. What a shame, a real shame.

Our company Christmas dinner at this restaurant was a complete disappointment, both in terms of organization and food. Given the high prices, I had expected significantly more professionalism. We (about 15 people) were initially seated at a large, suitable table, which we really liked. The ambiance is undeniably appealing. However, just a few minutes later, we were moved again because the table was supposedly reserved after all. In the end, we were seated at two separate tables. This was a completely inadequate and unprofessional approach, utterly inappropriate for a company event. Regarding the food: I chose the Big Daddy Burger. It tasted okay, but nothing special. For a price of around €20-21, I expect a full main course including a side dish. Instead, we had to order fries for an extra €6 😂. For a simple, standard portion! In my opinion, the price-performance ratio is completely off. Conclusion: Based on this experience, I will not be returning to this restaurant and cannot recommend it. For comparable prices, the established local steakhouse offers significantly better quality, service, and organization.

We've been to Timberjacks in Marl several times. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the food or the atmosphere. It was, as always, very good! I'd like to talk about their table reservation system. We usually always reserve in advance! Today, however, we were running very late and drove there on the off-chance, without a reservation. There are usually more than two tables available the entire time we're in the restaurant. So we thought they'd be able to give us a table. At the reception, we mentioned that we hadn't made a reservation. The man at reception immediately said, "Oh, not so good. Then you'll have to sit at the bar." We accepted it, which is fine. Because the last few times we've been there, there have always been more than enough tables available, all the time. So they can't really tell you that they don't have tables available for walk-ins... At the bar, we ordered drinks and started looking at the food options. During our visit, we occasionally asked if we could sit at a table. The waiter said he'd check and never came back. Our entire visit lasted about two hours, and during that time, two tables were free the whole time! And tables were becoming available every 20-30 minutes! From 7:30 p.m. onwards, hardly any new guests arrived, and more and more tables became free. As I said, we eat here often and are generally satisfied with the restaurant. What bothered me was that we had to sit at the bar the whole time, even though there were tables available... I expect a bit more customer service in a restaurant like this. It's understandable that they don't expect walk-in customers, but I think more communication with the customers would be appropriate.

Great location! 👌 Then the problems started. The table reservation for a Christmas party didn't work out; everyone was supposed to be spread out at different tables. Drinks arrived late, were the wrong ones, or didn't arrive at all! For example, the potatoes were brought out, and the meat arrived 30 minutes later. 🙈 Looks alone don't make a good restaurant. 🤷

Timberjacks in Marl is definitely worth a visit and impresses with its good food and authentic atmosphere. The menu is diverse and offers great dishes for both meat and fish lovers. For example, you can choose from several sauces to customize your meal. In addition to appetizers and main courses, there are many desserts and just as many side dish options. The dishes were well-seasoned and the portions were generous. The staff is friendly and polite, making you feel comfortable. The restaurant's decor is also very cozy and, in some parts, quite spectacular. Did you know there's a moose statue in the entrance? It's definitely an eye-catcher! There is plenty of free parking at the restaurant!

We spontaneously decided to eat there one Sunday afternoon! The staff were attentive and always friendly! Since the restaurant wasn't very busy, we didn't experience any of the usual waiting times for our order or drinks! The short wait for the main course was best bridged with some pleasant conversation! A good rule of thumb is: if the restrooms are clean, the kitchen is too! The restroom was more pleasant than in many restaurants I've eaten at! The two of us paid about €50 for two dishes and drinks! I'm happy to pay for quality! The restaurant is highly recommended, and the building itself is impressive!

Initially, I was blown away by the ambiance. The service was friendly, but later became a bit too pushy. My 200g rump roast steak (a lean cut from the hip) was extremely tough and riddled with sinew. When I complained, I was initially told that it was a lean cut and that these are generally often tough. When I pointed out that I've eaten steak many times before, but never such a bad one, I was told that the current delivery hadn't been very good and that if I ordered a new one, it would probably be the same. They asked if I wouldn't rather choose something else. I ended up ordering a sirloin steak (roast beef from the rear rib section), which was only available in a 250g size and cost significantly more than €10 extra. This steak, however, was excellent. Very tasty, well-prepared, and tender. Unfortunately, the various steaks are only available in one predetermined size.

We ate there today on our wedding anniversary, and the welcome was lovely. We were shown to our table and served by a very nice young woman named Jule. The drinks arrived incredibly quickly, and we only waited 15 minutes for our food. My husband had a steak with rosemary potatoes, and I had chicken strips with mashed potatoes. It was absolutely delicious. And the ambiance—I think it's just wonderful. Five stars aren't nearly enough; I'd give it ten stars for the atmosphere alone. We'll definitely be back.

BUT the entire experience was completely ruined at the end. Without any warning, neither when we made the reservation nor when we were seated, we were suddenly told in the middle of dessert that we should finish our food and leave immediately because our table was needed by new guests. We were even offered the option of moving to the bar "if necessary." The problem was: We had a heavily pregnant woman with us, for whom a seat at the bar would have been completely unsuitable. The waiter himself was very friendly and visibly upset. He explained that this new policy came from management and he simply had to pass it on. We ate throughout our entire meal, repeatedly ordered drinks, and yet we were practically ushered out while still enjoying dessert. In addition, the restaurant was extremely crowded, so we had already been waiting quite a while for our food. The problem was: We had a heavily pregnant woman with us, for whom a seat at the bar would have been completely unsuitable. Conclusion: Great food, friendly service – but the way paying guests are treated is unacceptable. That's how you drive customers away!

Update Review Timberjacks Marl We've been there several times now. There's never been anything to complain about. Last night, however, an incident occurred that will make us reconsider future visits. I made a reservation a few weeks ago. I received a reminder the day before that I had reserved a table. Everything was normal at the entrance; the table was reserved. That evening, it was very busy. Everything ran as usual, and the staff did a good job despite the large number of guests. After exactly 2.5 hours, the server came and said that our "RESERVATION TIME" was over and we had 5 minutes to vacate the table!!! We thought it was a joke and asked about it. The server was visibly embarrassed to explain that this was the case. The restaurant was full, and several guests were waiting for a table. We had to quickly gulp down our drinks, which we had ordered just before, and leave. Organizationally, it's completely inadequate. They're either totally disorganized with reservations or they ask guests without reservations to leave, not those with reservations. But what really ruined our evening was that we weren't informed about the time limit, neither by the email we received the day before, nor by the waiter when we arrived after making our reservation. With this system, of course, profit maximization is much greater. Guests who have already eaten usually just stay for drinks, while new guests do both. This will be our last visit!

We ordered the BBQ beef churrasco twice. The meat was cold and tough as shoe leather. Not recommended at all. The waitress was friendly and said she would inform the kitchen, but there was no response. To ruin meat like that at a steakhouse takes real talent. It was inedible, and one skewer was sent back completely, except for the vegetables. Between 6 pm and 9 pm, we only received one drink. No one came to ask for anything, and no one responded to waving or calling out. Unfortunately, there was no apology from the kitchen for the meat. Not recommended, sadly.

On Wednesday, I went to Timberjacks Marl with three friends. It's a BBQ/beef/beer restaurant with a strong American-Texan vibe. 🏜️ Atmosphere The restaurant is impressively decorated: lots of wood, a rustic look, animal motifs, and even a mechanical bull arena that apparently opens daily around 7 p.m. Overall, it's very atmospheric, perhaps a bit "too much" if you prefer more subtle decor. Minor downside: Some anti-vegan comments like "You can't fake steak." I found that rather unnecessary, especially since vegetarian guests should also be welcome. 🍔 Food I had: Double Smash Burger (no side): The price was surprisingly reasonable. The taste was good, the meat had a good bite, but it was a little dry. A sauce would have helped, but thanks to the free mayo/ketchup on the table, it was okay. Pulled Chicken (200g): It strongly reminded me of a bratwurst. Maybe it was pulled pork by mistake – I'm not sure. The taste wasn't bad, but completely different than expected. The BBQ sauce, on the other hand, was nicely smoky. My friends had: Smash burgers with fries: Verdict: "Okay." Nobody was really full, but everyone was satisfied. Vegetarian options: A baked potato and a feta dish were well-received. At least there are a few decent vegetarian alternatives. 🍨 Dessert One friend really wanted dessert because Timberjacks is supposed to be known for it. Ice cream: huge. American cheesecake (mine): really good, extremely filling, almost a meal in itself. 💬 Conclusion We had a relaxed evening, good conversations about training, nutrition, and everyday life. Unfortunately, a complete disappointment. We had two waiters who didn't take us seriously at all. We waited over 30 minutes for a drink. After asking several times, the bartender replied: "Be glad it's coming now; it usually takes even longer." So, I'm not sure if I'll go back. The ambiance, however, is good.

Yesterday was my fourth visit to a Timberjacks restaurant, and I've always been satisfied. Unfortunately, that can't be said for last night. We had specifically ordered certain items as appetizers, but then the server arrived with everything at once. Well, that was manageable. Then it turned out that all the sauces were missing from my burger. Some of the side dishes were delayed or didn't arrive at all. And to top it all off, a colleague complained that her dish was completely missing the meat. The server, when called over, seriously remarked, after looking at the plate, that it was a vegetarian dish. Of course, that wasn't the case; it was definitely a dish with meat. The maître d', who was then called over, realized that the meat was indeed missing and offered a replacement. As could be gathered from the subsequent discussion between the manager and the staff, there were apparently quite a few similar problems that evening. The slice of cheesecake I ordered last was crumbly like a lump of Parmesan. I skipped dessert and went to McDonald's afterward; a McFlurry for €3 was significantly better value. I have no idea what was going on in the kitchen in Marl last night. The employee's brief explanation was, "Well, no one speaks German in the kitchen, and all the recipes are in English." But nobody could explain to me what that had to do with the quality of the food.

Our new favorite restaurant. The quality of the food is amazing. The service staff were very polite, quick, and always available if we needed to order anything else. We'll definitely be back.

I was thrilled. We arrived way too early, took a quick look around, and took everything in. Then we went to the service desk, where an employee (Rico) promptly came to help us. He checked our reservation and said, "It's great that you're already here. I'll show you to your table." This excellent service continued throughout our visit to the restaurant with David, our waiter. He frequently asked if everything was okay, if anything was missing, or if we needed anything else. And that was despite the full house. Top notch.

There was no long wait. 30 minutes after our food order, our hot food was served – we found the wait to be completely reasonable. The various dishes were hot, the meat and burger patties weren't dry. It was just as we had hoped – simply delicious and beautifully presented! As time went on, Timberjacks continued to fill up. You could see that our server, Philipp, and his colleagues were really busy. Nevertheless, everything went very smoothly and quickly. Kudos! Thanks to the service team and the kitchen crew. It was a great visit, and we'd love to come back! We definitely can't agree with the negative reviews!

A fantastic location. Quiet and cozy, yet very pleasant for music and larger groups. The food we had was perfect, super subtle but flavorful. The service was also very friendly. Thank you Oli and Rico for your dedication. We'd love to come back again.

A very nice restaurant, great atmosphere. Unfortunately, despite having a reservation, we waited a long time to order. The drinks are expensive, perhaps that's why they stopped offering us drinks after the first round. The burgers were very tasty, but the sides weren't convincing. The fries were lukewarm, and the vegetables were overcooked. What bothered us most was the wait to pay. For five people, including burgers and salads, we paid just over €200. That wasn't cheap.

My aunt really liked the place, but we were unfortunately disappointed during the week. The ambiance is really nice and the food is good, but the service was so bad that we thought we could run a restaurant. First, they brought the wrong drink, then forgot a dish, and we waited half an hour for dessert despite asking. At least they didn't charge for it, but it wasn't exactly great either.

Today was my first time here. The ambiance was okay, but the tables were too close together for my taste, so you could hear everything from the next table, including when someone sneezes. The iced tea was extremely sweet, and the salad I ordered was served in a wooden bowl lined with baking paper, which I personally don't find very hygienic. Plus, the bottom part of the salad was quite soggy. The staff was very accommodating and friendly.

A superb location. I can't think of anything comparable. The selection is very large, perhaps even almost too large. The food was very good and plentiful. The wait time was about 30 minutes, which was actually okay, although we were there on a Saturday lunchtime. Very friendly and courteous service. The value for money is good. I was absolutely pleasantly surprised, especially after some of the negative reviews. I was there with my family on a Sunday evening: two adults and two children. We spent about €80 in total and ate really well; we were all stuffed. The quality of the food was surprisingly good. With the kids, I tried the chicken fillets; they were tender and crispy, perfect. My wife had a burrito, which was also good and, above all, large. I had a burger myself—I'm very particular about that—and was absolutely satisfied. The meat was tasty and juicy, the rest was deliciously prepared, and overall, it was really worth the money. I often go to the US and have had many delicious burgers there, and this one is absolutely in the right direction. The wait for the food was also absolutely okay, even though the restaurant was probably about three-quarters full—I think we were there for about an hour in total. Absolutely okay. I can recommend it.

Three of us went there today. The burger was okay. Unfortunately, we couldn't say the same about the skewer (beef). The meat was cooked thoroughly and there wasn't much of it for the price. It wasn't value for money. We reported this to the waitress. They did apologize, but nothing more. It's a shame, it wasn't classy; a small drink as compensation would have been appropriate. Still, it's a good place to go.

We wanted to eat here because a friend had told us the food was very good. We ordered, and the server was very rude when we asked questions, and was also disrespectful when we mispronounced words and when we asked questions about the food. Furthermore, when we paid, the server insisted on his tip and "forced" us to tip. Then the food: two of my friends and I ordered a churrasco skewer. The meat was very dry and full of tendons. A friend of mine had a chicken taco, which was also dry and simply not tasty. Another friend had a burger, which was very tasty. The atmosphere was very good; there was live music that you could listen to, and the seats were very comfortable.

I'm 71 years old and have eaten plenty of entrecôte in my life; I know what an entrecôte is. My entrecôte was missing the fat; it wasn't an entrecôte. When we complained, we were told that the piece of meat had been delivered as an entrecôte, and it might have been cut differently. It also wasn't delivered medium as ordered, but almost well done. Summary: Starters were great, main course was delivered incorrectly, which was discussed but not seen, desserts were excellent. A small apology would have sufficed, perhaps, as is usual in such cases, an offer of an espresso. But stubbornness doesn't make a satisfied guest, and only satisfied guests return, especially at these high prices. And goodbye.

We ate there yesterday. The food was absolutely amazing. But the service was terrible... We waited over 1:37 for dessert and then canceled it because it still hadn't arrived. There was no apology, nothing. Drinks weren't checked often. What a shame...

We finally managed to visit a Timberjacks, and it was absolutely worth it. The Food A fantastic selection, from farmers market fare and a decent burger to good steaks, tacos, and burritos, American cuisine is well-served here. The quality is significantly better than you'd expect. The dips were divine and truly unique. Everything tasted truly delicious. The desserts have several flavors to choose from, which you can order either as ice cream, a shake, a waffle cone, a cake, or a cream. Strawberry, for example, is available in five different flavors, which is really cool. The cheesecake is amazing, by the way! And my corn on the cob alone… I've never had it that good anywhere else. The drink selection is also great. They have some great lemonades. The Staff Super attentive, always there, super friendly, and above all, helpful. Not irritating, no weird comments… Simply perfect! The Price Level Admittedly, everything costs a little more here, but the prices are absolutely justified. Because you're not just paying for the food, but also for the ambiance and service. The food itself is also of a high quality, so you really can't complain. There are specials on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays where you get mixed plates from one section. For example, on Tuesday we had the taco platter with four different tacos, sweet potato fries, and dips for €19.90. There's nothing to complain about. And it allows you to try a lot. The Ambience: The noise level is okay, but it wasn't completely full. I don't know what it's like when it's really full. But the whole wooden look makes it feel super cozy. It's like you're in another world. Conclusion: Highly recommended!

Everything was within reason, but nothing more. The burrito wasn't that good, had too little cheese and was much too small; it definitely wouldn't fill you up. The fajitas were also rather bland, with too few fresh vegetables compared to the chicken, and the mayo sauce was completely off the mark. Service, however, was very good, friendly, and quick. The atmosphere was also nice, just a bit noisy and quite loud at times.

This is our second time there, and we weren't disappointed. The first time we went for lunch to get to know the place, and then last night with the family. Everyone was absolutely thrilled; whether it was the burgers, chicken, or shrimp, everything tasted fantastic. You can also taste the homemade signature sauces. Our service was absolutely lovely, and for my son, the Oreo shake is the absolute highlight. We'll be back next month and share the treat with the other part of the family 😄😄😄😄 Thank you🥰🥰🥰

I was overwhelmed by my first impression. In a huge log cabin with lofty ceilings, we found an impressive ambiance in an upscale saloon style. The food and drink menu left nothing to be desired. The service was excellent and friendly. As a wheelchair user, I had plenty of space, and there was also a large accessible restroom. On certain days, there is live music and bull riding. I highly recommend this restaurant; it's a truly unique experience.

The steaks here are highly recommended, albeit very expensive. You can skip the salads; unfortunately, they're far too expensive and don't taste very good.

A very bad experience. The steak was tough and inedible, so we had to return it. The meat on the salads and the salad dressing were okay at first, but then, after our meal, it was an absolute horror. My cousin and I both suffered food poisoning after the visit. For us, this is a clear indication of poor quality and hygiene. Absolutely not recommended.
