Beer garden is fine. Tomato soup was too thick, lukewarm and the croutons were too mushy (probably left in the soup for too long).

I accidentally ended up in the beer garden that belongs to it. Cozy, clean beer garden, very friendly staff, good food. Was very surprised by the cheap beer price, Augustiner on tap €3.90. Plenty of parking spaces with e-charging stations available.

We were treated very condescendingly by the usher. Although around a third of the tables in the restaurant's outdoor area were unoccupied during our entire visit, we had to eat in a corner at the already overcrowded regulars' table. A further request to sit at one of the numerous free tables was also rejected. The food didn't taste good under the conditions and the beautifully decorated facility couldn't make up for it. It left us with the impression of a beer bar with uninterested staff instead of a well-run restaurant. We won't come back. We do not recommend the restaurant.

The roast pork is amazing. Unfortunately the service wasn't that great. I think our waiter was overloaded. It was very crowded on Friday evening.

Nice beer garden, clear menu, prices rather higher. Because this is a higher-priced location, there are no cushions for the chairs or blankets in the beer garden (which every restaurant, no matter how small, now has). When it gets dark, a few fairy lights come on in the self-service beer garden. In the operating section you sit in the dark. We still had daylight, the guests who came later had to read the menu using their cell phone light. Impossible. I don't know what the innkeeper is thinking. Probably nothing.

Nice staff and nice location. BUT: we were there on Sunday September 25th. at dinner. My girlfriend had a roast pork and I had a gut plate. 2 hours after our visit to the restaurant we both got food poisoning, which we had to cure for 3 days. After this experience - we will never go there again!!

What the Wagner Foundation has created and will continue to create here is simply wonderful. Good food and best beer at decent prices. Top! Reservation advisable

We have been coming weekly since it opened and are very happy to have Gustl near us. The quality is always excellent except for a few times. The service and friendliness of the ga Zen staff is wonderful. Everyone is very attentive and accommodating. Prices have increased slightly since opening, but we feel it is in line with performance. The ambience makes you feel comfortable. Everything is of great value and very well maintained. Suggestion: Please don't make the portions of Kaiserschmarren smaller 😋

Food is great. You can still eat and drink moderately. Unfortunately the staff wasn't very friendly. We would have liked to drink more, but unfortunately we were quicker to drink than the staff were to sell. But maybe we were just unlucky that evening.

The food is good quality, but the price is on the upper average side for Bavarian cuisine. Unfortunately, I've encountered not so great service once or twice - sometimes you don't get the feeling that the customer is king. This could still be improved. Otherwise the atmosphere, especially outside, is nice. It's worth making a reservation (if someone answers the phone...)

Vom feinsten! I really enjoyed the food and drinks here. This place is a local hidden treasure. I've never had alcohol free beer that tasted so good. The service was impeccable. The meal was well portioned and perfectly seasoned. If I'm ever in the area I'll be going back.

A Gustl dream in Freiham!! Beer garden is wonderful. However, there are no measures... but the beer stays cold longer :)

The boiled beef was served in a soup plate, the lightly fried potatoes floated in the soup and became soggy. The root vegetables, without celery, were also floating in the soup, which was by no means beef broth, the vegetables were half cooked, something from the freezer! The horseradish is sparingly grated on top, as if it were so expensive. Why not use a gravy boat for a beef broth and serve the potatoes on a separate plate. My phone complaint was taken and the response was arrogant. The Kaiserschmarren is by no means freshly prepared, it comes pre-baked from a baking tray, then cut up and served with a disgustingly sweet caramel sauce. Be careful not to eat there! Everything prepared quickly and carelessly!

Typical Bavarian beer garden, with wooden tables and flowing beer. Located in a suburban area, near a logistics center of the Augustiner brewery. Large square very enjoyable in summer, in the shade of large chestnut trees. Typical good quality Bavarian dishes. Efficient and courteous service.

Beautiful Augustinian restaurant in Gut Freiham. Newly renovated inn with beautiful Beer garden. Menu manageable but plenty of Bavarian dishes. Lunch menu until 2 p.m. from 5 p.m. evening menu. Parking spaces available.

Beer is good, and relatively cheap for Munich standards. Eating was just a “beer garden”, but with tolerance. The service was staffed by amateurs who did their job very well; However, one of the junior staff wanted to tell me that there is no schnapps in a beer garden. She didn't respond to my objection that I drank schnapps in beer gardens when her grandmother was still a virgin. 😁 The toilets are top notch, but they are a difficult olfactory challenge, so you have to go over them more often. I liked it and I'll be back.

Still a pearl at the moment, but it will certainly soon be on everyone's lips. If the weather is good, you definitely need to make a reservation for lunch. The food is upscale, (unfortunately) not larger portions but the taste is excellent. There are all kinds of Augustiner (including non-alcoholic), the staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating and yet still has a Bavarian, rustic, warm atmosphere. The beer garden is also great and you can currently get a whole table for one person on Saturday afternoons when the weather is nice. Playground is a real joy for the little ones.

Super great restaurant and beautiful beer garden. Absolutely recommended, but unfortunately ordering in the beer garden is extremely time-consuming. Improvements should be made here so that orders can be processed more quickly. Otherwise you'll stand in line forever. If that fits then 5 stars!

Always a highlight when visiting Grandma & Grandpa: upscale traditional cuisine, Bavarian hospitality, perfect, very attentive service (even the dog was given a bowl of water without being asked) and, as the icing on the cake, a wonderful playground right by the beer garden… three generations happy 🤗 - We'd love to come back!

A very comfortably furnished restaurant. It is very busy and therefore a bit noisy. The food is very tasty, I would say price-performance is okay. The beer garden is very nice, there are chestnut trees there. Above all, the new playground should be mentioned; the kids love being there.

Historic feel-good place with friendly service and really good food. However, the very wet floor of the beer garden toilet and the empty paper towel dispenser mean that there is a lack of necessary regularity of checks. This can certainly be easily remedied.

Rarely have I seen such a great beer garden/great tavern in Bavaria (!!). Incredibly beautiful house, very tastefully restored, perfect balance between old and new. Very nicely done. The beer garden is a dream for families! Great food, friendly staff and great system in the self-service area. It's really rare to experience something almost perfect!

Tue midday, well-filled outdoor area, weather hot and sunny! Didn't have the opportunity to order anything after the first service employee complained to me that SHE wasn't a waitress and was only responsible for reception. The next service person complained to the guests at the next table that SHE now had a long to-do list of orders to process. With this perception, my wife and I left the table and looked for another lunch option. I'm a real friend of the Augustiner Brewery and its restaurants, but this shop no longer sees me. Very, very nice restaurant. Big compliments to the interior designers. And of course a warm welcome to the kitchen, which produces very good food. Unfortunately, the restaurant has a very big flaw. For over 1.5 years now, management has not been able to hire enough staff. Of course, everyone knows that no one wants to work anymore, but it's still annoying. Today there are a few tables available in the beer garden. When asked by the service staff, they even openly admit that the kitchen doesn't produce enough food, so the free seats are not filled - only a foundation can really afford that. Well, then just go to the self-service area. In the queue for drinks with 10 people in front of one, after 20 minutes at the destination - a beer. Please think about something here, there are enough examples in Munich that can show you how it works. My appeal to those responsible: step on the gas! It's a shame that your potential is simply not being utilized to its full potential. With best expectations Philip

We spontaneously went here in the beer garden on a bike tour. When I got to the counter, I had to wait quite a long time for two spritzers, a pretzel and an Obazda. Overall it was tasty, but a bit expensive for the portion size. I would happily come back for slightly larger portions or a lower price!

Yesterday (May 19th, 2024) I walked to Planegg when the weather was nice and via Freiham and I always pass the Zum Gustl Foundation Inn. The beer garden was full and that speaks for itself. I heard that the cuisine there must be very good, I'll try it out this year. Lg.Rainer

If you're in the area it's definitely worth a stop. Food is inexpensive and the entire restaurant is well decorated with modern wooden style.

Basically, first of all: This review refers exclusively to the self-service beer garden!!!! It's really great how much attention to detail, good taste and awareness of tradition has been used to create a beautiful inn and beer garden - chapeau! The food is great, the drinks are typically Augustiner wonderful. Points deducted for: There was only one cash register open for the entire beer garden and you had to wait in line for 10 - 15 minutes (!!!) to place your order. Sorry, it wouldn't be a technical miracle to open a second one. And what really doesn't fit into the image of the lovingly restored building: Once you've placed your order, you have to wait again because the drinks are obviously poured in the inn and then - here it comes - are passed on through a window to the responsible service person, who then hands them over to the waiting and thirsty customers. So it couldn't be any more unprofessional - I wouldn't have expected that from the Augustiner flagship inn. Another thing on the subject of customs: How can there be no beer mugs in a beer garden that is committed to Bavarian tradition??? That just means standing in line at the overwhelmed checkout more often and actually having a nice time in the beer garden waiting in line. So overall, great food and a nice ambience, unfortunately the implementation of the beer garden is mediocre to unprofessional at the moment.
