The food was delicious, and the service was very friendly and attentive.

I've been there several times, and I highly recommend it.

There was plastic packaging residue in the food. After complaining, the food was taken back, and when another beer was ordered, they said, "The first beer is on the house." So far, so good, that was fine. But the second beer was then filled to just below the fill line, about 1 cm below the fill line. Therefore, my rating: 6-

A highly recommended inn, located just outside the city to the west of Munich. It features a great beer garden, the food was delicious, and the service was good.

We were very disappointed with our visit. Although the weather was lovely and the outdoor area seemed ready, we were told that we could only order drinks in the beer garden, but no food. At the same time, the indoor area was completely packed, so there was nowhere to sit. We were told that the beer garden wouldn't be serving food until April 1st. That would have been understandable in principle, however, there were already several tables set up outside and drinks were being served – just no food. Given the beautiful weather and the impression that everything was prepared, this was difficult for us to comprehend. We even offered to get the food ourselves from inside and eat it outside so that the staff wouldn't have to do any extra work. Unfortunately, this was also refused. In addition, we found the service staff to be very unfriendly. We've been here several times in the past and had generally had good experiences, which is why this visit was particularly disappointing. Under these circumstances, we will not be returning.

Yes and no 😉. Superbly renovated. Still a great, old-fashioned beer garden. With local guests and no tourists. With traditional dishes (I judge the quality by the Bavarian-fresh sausage salad... and it was superb) and great beer. I'm not Bavarian myself, but I've been going to Bavaria with my parents and grandparents for 60 years. I was hoping for Sauerbraten (cured pork lung), but it was the wrong time of year. I'm very disappointed with Bavarian restaurants these days. Everything is geared towards tourists and mainstream. It was different 20 years ago. Times change, but I'm glad that oases like this still exist. So, yes and no. I'm happy to give a good review, but I'd be glad if it remains an oasis. The service is incredibly good! We were given a table upstairs, a little off to the side, without a reservation, and were told it would take a while before we could be served. Despite this, our order was taken quickly and the food arrived very promptly. The dishes were all brought simultaneously – truly professional and top-notch! Both the vegetarian and meat dishes were perfectly prepared! Highly recommended, especially if you have guests; the ambiance makes it a great place to enjoy Bavarian cuisine!

Today I went to Gustl's with a friend. A beautiful restaurant with a delicious salad that we thoroughly enjoyed. The schnitzel with cranberries and lemon was especially tasty! We also had a delicious light non-alcoholic beer – and the evening was a complete success. The service was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back! Best regards and many thanks!

We went there for lunch. Pork tenderloin with Spätzle and mushroom sauce €10.90. It was tasty. The beer (Augustiner) was good as always. Sitting on the benches is worse than sitting on any church pew, since the backrests are completely upright.

What a shame. The service and ambiance were very good. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and quick. Unfortunately, the food was terrible. I had the venison leg. The meat was dry, the spaetzle were mushy, and there was practically no sauce. The kitchen forgot the Brussels sprouts. When I asked about them, they arrived mushy, presumably frozen, and microwaved. They were tasteless and watery. The Kaiserschmarren (shredded pancake) wasn't any better. No raisins. Soggy. And way too much cinnamon, which definitely doesn't belong there. With such awful food, I don't want to come back.

We've been there twice now! It's amazing how the Augustiner Brewery has renovated it. Every piece of interior decor is unique! Beautifully renovated. So much attention to detail. And the food is wonderful! You rarely find so much homemade and delicious food!! So fresh and good, we were very impressed. The service was fantastic too!!! We'll definitely be back.

Today, after a week of closure and despite days of unsuccessful attempts to call, I personally inquired about a table and received a curt reply that everything was full and whether we had made a reservation. They said it had been full for several days. When I suggested they could leave a message on their answering machine or post online, they just shrugged. That means this Augustiner won't be seeing me or my friends again anytime soon. What a shame.

The food was absolutely delicious! We tried several different dishes, and every one of them was great. We just wish the flavors were a bit spicier.

I ate at the Gasthaus zum Gustl, a restaurant run by the Stiftung (Foundation), as part of a belated Christmas party in January. The grounds are very well-maintained with a lovely interior. You are greeted warmly and shown to your table; reservations are definitely recommended. Unfortunately, we were seated in a small room next to a large group of men who were quite loud, making normal conversation difficult. The food was good, and they also offer vegetarian and vegan options. I found the prices to be very reasonable, the staff very friendly, and paying by card was no problem. The free parking lot is somewhat hidden in the back courtyard.

The food was a complete disappointment. The salmon was dry. The risotto was utterly tasteless, probably because the orange sauce listed on the menu was missing. When I spoke to the waiter, he didn't seem very surprised. The old grounds, however, have been nicely renovated. Perhaps it deserves a second chance as a beer garden in the summer...

We dined at this restaurant as a large group (eight adults and six small children). The food was truly delicious. Both the appetizers and the main courses were fresh, beautifully presented, and flavorful. A big compliment to the kitchen. Unfortunately, our positive impression was significantly marred by the service. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the server in an unusually unfriendly manner. As the afternoon progressed, it became clear that she seemed bothered by the presence of our children, even though we were in a separate room and the children (the oldest is three years old) were behaving as one would expect at that age. Of course, it's not completely quiet with small children, but we were careful to be considerate. What was particularly unpleasant was that, while some of us were still eating, we were brusquely told to clean up our children's leftover food from the floor ourselves. A broom and a dustpan were brought to us. We found such a request during a meal, and in that tone, inappropriate and unprofessional. When we later spoke to the server about her behavior, she said she had a problem with our "very aggressive children." We felt this statement was exaggerated and unjustified. Overall, we were very disappointed by the lack of friendliness towards children and the way we were treated. Because of this experience, we unfortunately won't be returning, even though the food was really good.

The restaurant offers a truly lovely ambiance – stylish, cozy, and very inviting. The food was also delicious and of excellent quality. These would have been the perfect ingredients for a wonderful visit. Unfortunately, one incident significantly marred our experience. The older waitress who served us seemed unfriendly and annoyed from the start. Things came to a head when, during our meal, she brought us a dustpan and brush and demanded that we clean up ourselves because the children had made a bit of a mess. I've never experienced anything like this in any other restaurant. Of course, we understand the importance of not leaving our table untidy – but demanding that guests clean up during a meal is clearly going too far. Overall, the restaurant offers fantastic food and a very pleasant atmosphere, but the service – especially this incident – ​​unfortunately put a damper on our visit.

We came to Zum Gustl for lunch based on a recommendation. The restaurant is beautifully and traditionally rustic, creating a very cozy atmosphere. The service was exceptionally friendly and remarkably fast. We ordered roast pork, veal Wiener Schnitzel, and Kaiserschmarren with applesauce for dessert. The schnitzel and Kaiserschmarren were delicious. Our only criticism was the roast pork, which tasted more like smoked pork loin and therefore didn't quite win us over. Apart from that, we had a thoroughly enjoyable visit and can still recommend Zum Gustl – especially for its atmosphere and service.

A traditional Bavarian restaurant, excellent food at relatively low prices, and a rustic, old-fashioned Bavarian service – you either love it or hate it. The roast pork is the best in town. The side room isn't too noisy either. Reservations are absolutely necessary.

We wanted to make a reservation for Christmas, but the man on the phone was very arrogant and told us they had been fully booked for tables with multiple people since September. He said we couldn't make an online reservation in September because it was too early. Despite all the positive reviews I've heard from acquaintances, this leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. It feels like they're doing too well. Sorry, but if they weren't a foundation, they'd fight for every customer. Apparently, they don't need to. However, polite service is still a good thing.

Augustiner is lived and breathed here! Good food, a wide selection, a quaint building, very friendly and attentive staff, and the beer is second to none.

A very nice restaurant with good German cuisine. I had the 1/4 goose with serviette dumplings and jus. Can't complain. We felt the wait for the food was really long, but we were also hungry. The service was very friendly, but also seemed a bit overwhelmed.

Unfortunately, I can only give this restaurant a very low rating. The food was rather average overall, and the meat was unfortunately very dry. Particularly disappointing was that one schnitzel wasn't cooked at all and still had bloody spots on the inside. The dish was taken back and recooked, but not removed from the bill. There was no apology, nor was there any small gesture of sympathy—perhaps a shot of schnapps on the house to get rid of any bacteria. Even though the meat was subsequently recooked, one's appetite is understandably lost after such an experience. A real shame, as one would expect something different from a restaurant visit.

Very tasty. Prices are absolutely reasonable. The service is courteous. As we left, we were asked if our parking ticket needed to be authenticated/validated. This was because the parking lot was charged, but we don't want to overcharge restaurant patrons. We'll be back—next time by bike, though, because the beer garden is also worth it!

It's a shame, I really liked the Bavarian restaurant, which had been renovated with such style. But on our last visit, we encountered rather grumpy service. One of my three daughters (admittedly no longer a child) wasn't particularly hungry and only wanted dumplings with sauce. I understand if this "food" is supposed to be reserved for children, no problem. But the way it was communicated was rather rude. We weren't prepared for such a reaction, because on another visit and with a different server, there were no problems with the order. If that's no longer possible, it could be communicated in a reasonably friendly manner. Unfortunately, this brusque attitude ruined the whole evening for us. We're taking a longer Gustl break for now.

Gusto at Gustl If you're looking for a Bavarian restaurant – modern, yet in the style of olden times – then this is the place for you. A tasteful ambiance and top-quality dishes. The zander and Bavarian tiramisu I ate were excellent. No wonder we managed to snag the last available table (inside) without a reservation. The friendly service at this establishment also deserves praise. Wonderful, see you next time.

Although I had accidentally made a reservation online for the wrong day, we still got a table without any problems. Beautifully located behind the old avenue at Gut Freiham. The best roast pork in the world, the Munich schnitzel is a delight, and the wheat beer tiramisu is a taste explosion. Accompanied by a bowl of freshly tapped Augustiner beer, chestnuts, friendly people, and gracious service. What more could you want?

Gustl serves excellent German cuisine! The beer garden is very nice, and the building itself is also quite impressive. The food was truly delicious! We had roast pork and a Munich-style schnitzel. The roast pork portion was very good. Unfortunately, the schnitzel portion was a bit mediocre... but that was the only drawback. The service was really very friendly.

We ate in the self-service area. The roast pork was really good, which made up for the slightly longer order line. There's a relatively large playground on site.

The beer garden is quite nice, and the playground right next to it is also good. What wasn't so good, in my opinion, was the food. The meat planter was way too salty in my opinion. The Swiss sausage salad wasn't my cup of tea either, as the sausage was sliced, not cut. If you want bread with your sausage salad, you have to pay extra. However, the bread is quite expensive in my opinion, at €1.70 for two slices, and I personally didn't like the fact that it looked like it was already two days old. All in all, it's nice to go there for the playground and drinks, but I wouldn't go back for the food.

This was our first time at Stiftungsgut Freiham. We discovered this wonderful, brand-new adventure playground through a social media/Instagram post about "Boarisch Gschbuid," a wonderful, brand-new adventure playground that makes children's hearts beat faster. The large playground is fenced in, monitored by cameras, and has a lot to offer, but is located a bit away from the Gasthaus Zum Gustl. Right next to Gasthaus Gustl (with outdoor service) and the beer garden (self-service open from 3 p.m.) is a smaller playground that is also beautifully designed. The food was good, the cappuccino was very tasty but not very large, and the service was very friendly. We would love to come back.

Nice beer garden, but what's strange is that they only serve half-liters, no shandy, and only one cashier (you have to wait in line). There are two playgrounds for kids! The price for roast pork is €15.16. Funny—I'll just say German Purity Law. 😁

The main courses were all very, very good. Unfortunately, the Kaiserschmarn (smothered pancakes) was nothing special. Too floury and not fluffy. They need to do better. Hence, no 5 stars. The ambiance is airy, modern, and tidy. Not loud, which is great. Unfortunately, it has lost some of the coziness of a traditional restaurant, hence one star less.

Absolutely not recommended! We waited over an hour for our food!! Guests who arrived after us had already received their food. When I then said something about where our food was, they said that several chefs had apparently fallen ill today. Then you HAVE to communicate this, let the guests know, and not leave them in the dark!! Sorry, but that's not how it works, and what's even more outrageous is that you're spoken to very rudely. We won't be coming back.

The grounds of the Stiftungsgut are beautiful and create a wonderful atmosphere. Two lovingly designed, modern playgrounds make it an ideal destination for families. Add to that the Augustiner restaurant—nothing can go wrong there. Or so you'd think. We were turned away at the Stiftungsgut. We wanted to go out for dinner around 2 p.m., after the lunch rush, in a group of people who were obviously not welcome: three adults and four children. I finally broke off the discussion with the "hard door," even though the outdoor area still had a few free tables and the prospect of a suitable spot for us. We then sat down in the self-service area and watched a few other families being turned away, with tables always free. The food, which comes from the same kitchen, only took about 30 minutes to arrive, contrary to what the placement staff member said, and was, as is usual with Augustiner restaurants, good. With such great playgrounds, you should perhaps be prepared for families with several children to visit—including in the restaurant area. As a big Augustiner fan and regular visitor to the various pubs and beer gardens in Munich, I am extremely disappointed. This was probably my last visit.

There's no hot food in the beer garden at 1 p.m. on Sunday (anymore)? After we called shortly beforehand to ask about this! Is the organization so difficult, and is it surprising that it could be full on a Sunday and people might ask for food? In short, a complete disappointment. We drove home hungry and in a bad mood, wasting many miles for nothing!
