Very tasty. Prices are absolutely reasonable. The service is courteous. As we left, we were asked if our parking ticket needed to be authenticated/validated. This was because the parking lot was charged, but we don't want to overcharge restaurant patrons. We'll be back—next time by bike, though, because the beer garden is also worth it!

Unfortunately, I can only give this restaurant a very low rating. The food was rather average overall, and the meat was unfortunately very dry. Particularly disappointing was that one schnitzel wasn't cooked at all and still had bloody spots on the inside. The dish was taken back and recooked, but not removed from the bill. There was no apology, nor was there any small gesture of sympathy—perhaps a shot of schnapps on the house to get rid of any bacteria. Even though the meat was subsequently recooked, one's appetite is understandably lost after such an experience. A real shame, as one would expect something different from a restaurant visit.

It's a shame, I really liked the Bavarian restaurant, which had been renovated with such style. But on our last visit, we encountered rather grumpy service. One of my three daughters (admittedly no longer a child) wasn't particularly hungry and only wanted dumplings with sauce. I understand if this "food" is supposed to be reserved for children, no problem. But the way it was communicated was rather rude. We weren't prepared for such a reaction, because on another visit and with a different server, there were no problems with the order. If that's no longer possible, it could be communicated in a reasonably friendly manner. Unfortunately, this brusque attitude ruined the whole evening for us. We're taking a longer Gustl break for now.

Gusto at Gustl If you're looking for a Bavarian restaurant – modern, yet in the style of olden times – then this is the place for you. A tasteful ambiance and top-quality dishes. The zander and Bavarian tiramisu I ate were excellent. No wonder we managed to snag the last available table (inside) without a reservation. The friendly service at this establishment also deserves praise. Wonderful, see you next time.

I was here for the second time, and my guests from Hamburg and Bayreuth were thrilled. Although I had accidentally made a reservation online for the wrong day, we still got a table without any problems. The food is, in my opinion, the best in Munich—truly delicious and freshly prepared. We were particularly impressed by the draft beer; it tasted fantastic. The service was friendly, attentive, and very professional. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable visit, and I will definitely be back. Truly fantastic!

Beautifully located behind the old avenue at Gut Freiham. The best roast pork in the world, the Munich schnitzel is a delight, and the wheat beer tiramisu is a taste explosion. Gustl serves excellent German cuisine! The beer garden is very nice, and the building itself is also quite impressive. The food was truly delicious! We had roast pork and a Munich-style schnitzel. The roast pork portion was very good. Unfortunately, the schnitzel portion was a bit mediocre... but that was the only drawback. The service was really very friendly.

The beer garden is quite nice, and the playground right next to it is also good. What wasn't so good, in my opinion, was the food. The meat planter was way too salty in my opinion. The Swiss sausage salad wasn't my cup of tea either, as the sausage was sliced, not cut. If you want bread with your sausage salad, you have to pay extra. However, the bread is quite expensive in my opinion, at €1.70 for two slices, and I personally didn't like the fact that it looked like it was already two days old. All in all, it's nice to go there for the playground and drinks, but I wouldn't go back for the food.

This was our first time at Stiftungsgut Freiham. We discovered this wonderful, brand-new adventure playground through a social media/Instagram post about "Boarisch Gschbuid," a wonderful, brand-new adventure playground that makes children's hearts beat faster. The large playground is fenced in, monitored by cameras, and has a lot to offer, but is located a bit away from the Gasthaus Zum Gustl. Right next to Gasthaus Gustl (with outdoor service) and the beer garden (self-service open from 3 p.m.) is a smaller playground that is also beautifully designed. The food was good, the cappuccino was very tasty but not very large, and the service was very friendly. We would love to come back.

The main courses were all very, very good. Unfortunately, the Kaiserschmarn (smothered pancakes) was nothing special. Too floury and not fluffy. They need to do better. Hence, no 5 stars. The ambiance is airy, modern, and tidy. Not loud, which is great. Unfortunately, it has lost some of the coziness of a traditional restaurant, hence one star less.

Absolutely not recommended! We waited over an hour for our food!! Guests who arrived after us had already received their food. When I then said something about where our food was, they said that several chefs had apparently fallen ill today. Then you HAVE to communicate this, let the guests know, and not leave them in the dark!! Sorry, but that's not how it works, and what's even more outrageous is that you're spoken to very rudely. We won't be coming back.

The grounds of the Stiftungsgut are beautiful and create a wonderful atmosphere. Two lovingly designed, modern playgrounds make it an ideal destination for families. Add to that the Augustiner restaurant—nothing can go wrong there. Or so you'd think. We were turned away at the Stiftungsgut. We wanted to go out for dinner around 2 p.m., after the lunch rush, in a group of people who were obviously not welcome: three adults and four children. I finally broke off the discussion with the "hard door," even though the outdoor area still had a few free tables and the prospect of a suitable spot for us. We then sat down in the self-service area and watched a few other families being turned away, with tables always free. The food, which comes from the same kitchen, only took about 30 minutes to arrive, contrary to what the placement staff member said, and was, as is usual with Augustiner restaurants, good. With such great playgrounds, you should perhaps be prepared for families with several children to visit—including in the restaurant area. As a big Augustiner fan and regular visitor to the various pubs and beer gardens in Munich, I am extremely disappointed. This was probably my last visit.

There's no hot food in the beer garden at 1 p.m. on Sunday (anymore)? After we called shortly beforehand to ask about this! Is the organization so difficult, and is it surprising that it could be full on a Sunday and people might ask for food? In short, a complete disappointment. We drove home hungry and in a bad mood, wasting many miles for nothing!

The Gustl Foundation House in Munich-Freiham is a true gem. Large parts of the entire grounds have been beautifully renovated – it retains its historic feel, yet also has a modern charm. Particularly beautiful is the combination of the magnificent brewery horses, which also pull the festival carriages at Oktoberfest, and the cozy beer garden. This offers an unattended area with a pager system for food, as well as a waiter-serviced area – a very practical solution. Right next door is a lovely children's playground, making it a perfect family-friendly visit. Drinks can be taken away from the self-service area, and the Augustiner merchandise shop sells embroidered T-shirts, polos, baseball caps, bottle openers, and much more. Another real highlight is the newly opened wooden playground behind the horse stables – varied, high-quality design, and simply fantastic for children. All in all, a fantastic place to enjoy and explore.

It was our first time here. It was perhaps a little difficult at first: We arrived on a Friday around 2 p.m. and actually wanted to eat outside with table service. There were plenty of seats available. However, we were told that afternoon service wouldn't start until 3 p.m., and new tables could only be opened then. Until then, only the tables already open could be served. For us, that meant going inside and picking up drinks there, or ordering food only when afternoon service arrived. But the food made up for it: super delicious roast pork with coleslaw, beautifully presented, and at a reasonable price. Hence the excellent rating. I live nearby and will definitely be back.

Unfortunately, we couldn't get a seat, even though there were free seats and two other guests at a table for eight who wouldn't have had a problem with us joining them, as they had already finished their meals. They said that the waiter might not be able to serve us (2 adults/2 children) and that it would probably take a very, very long time. There was no food available in the self-service area at lunchtime. There were still a few tables available, all of which were apparently reserved for later.

Caution: A longer review follows, but if you're looking for a wedding venue, you should read it. My wife and I had the privilege of getting married in church at Gut Freiham in mid-August, and it was the best day of our lives. The venue is fantastic, and the staff are amazing. The "dance floor" hall seats 60 guests and is beautifully brightly furnished and decorated, and the covered balcony lounge provided guests with a place to retreat to the fresh air throughout the wedding. The estate also has a small church for about 50 people. Although small, the church is decorated with a great deal of art and marble, making it a true contender with more elegant churches. The beautifully decorated village square in front of the Augustiner Brewery and the estate stables provided a wonderful setting for group photos and congratulations. The banquet manager Katharina Unden made our dream of having an extensive photo shoot on site possible. We were able to use not only the village square but also the castle park, which resulted in some incredibly beautiful photos. Since my wife also rides, I asked if we could take photos in the estate stables, which have been incredibly beautifully restored, perhaps with one of the beautiful black cold-blooded horses from the Augustiner Brewery, and Katharina made that possible. We were even happier when we found out from Ingrid, the horsewoman who accompanied us throughout the photo shoot, that we were the first couple to do this and that it was wonderful for her too. My wife couldn't stop beaming. Katharina made us feel right up until midnight that she really wanted this to be our dream day. When the train of my wife's wedding dress came loose late in the evening and no one could fix it properly, Katharina was there and magically put everything on the wedding dress back in place, ready to dance. We are so grateful to have had Katharina by our side that day. The waiters who accompanied us throughout the afternoon and evening immediately became guest favorites. Saki created such a comfortable atmosphere with incredible warmth and a great sense of humor, while Steffi looked after our guests with loving, almost motherly care. The two were so friendly and exuded such a relaxed serenity, which quickly relieved a lot of stress for us as a bride and groom. The guests felt exceptionally comfortable and well-cared for; it felt like a real family atmosphere. We were absolutely thrilled with them. The food was also wonderful; we highly recommend it. The guests were thrilled with all three courses. The chefs here definitely know their craft. (If I had enough characters, I would go into detail about the individual courses here, but Google is putting a stop to that.) Another wonderful thing that rounded off the wedding beautifully was the Augustiner Brewery's good relationship with the Augustinian monks from Maria Eich in Planegg. This made organizing the wedding significantly easier, and the Augustinian monk, Father Christian, conducted a beautiful ceremony that even our non-Christian guests found very emotional and touching. There's also something very nice about being married by an Augustinian monk near Munich, the heart of the Augustiner Brewery. Whether it's for a wedding or simply a visit for an Augustiner Dunkel and a Munich-style schnitzel, we can only recommend the Gustl or Gut Freiham unconditionally. Thank you so much for everything!!!

The cheapest vegetarian dish is more expensive than two-thirds of the meat menu. In the beer garden, despite free tables, you're seated at a table with eight strangers, and you have to sit next to each other. Kaspressknödel: a quarter portion at full price. Never again. It started strong and faded brilliantly.

Lunch in the beer garden today: 11:40 a.m., bright sunshine, plenty of free tables. Sounds like a relaxing lunch, right? Wrong thought! "Everything reserved," they said. Exception: communal table or self-service area. Two free seats opposite each other at the communal table? – Perfect for a chat over dinner? No, absolutely not! The waitress insisted that we sit next to each other to make room for other guests who – surprise – never showed up. Meanwhile, half the beer garden remained empty, presumably so the reserved chairs wouldn't get overused. After dinner, I mentioned it: "All tables are reserved," I was told, while the seats behind her remained gapingly empty. A hint that the tables might not be needed until 1:00 p.m. would have been too easy. Conclusion: If you like solving puzzles about seating arrangements, practicing the discipline of "eating next to each other," or want to admire the art of empty tables, this is the place for you. For everyone else: self-service – or go somewhere else.

The ambiance is very nice, and the food was okay, but very nicely presented. Unfortunately, you have to wait quite a long time to order food. I accidentally ordered sparkling water for a child. I asked if I could exchange it. The answer was no, but the server wanted to add salt to my sparkling water, which would also dissolve the carbonation. I politely declined and went back to the back of the line to order still water... The kids still had fun, and the playground is very nice.

A cozy beer garden with friendly service, fair prices, and a lovingly designed playground – ideal for families. The children's portions were also generous. Unfortunately, the food could have been better: the sirloin steak was riddled with tendons, and the potatoes tasted like they came from a jar – watery and unloved. It's a shame, because they can do better, right? Positive: Easy to reach by bike, car, and S-Bahn (S8). Plenty of parking and even a charging station – although unfortunately, it can only be accessed via QR code; common charging cards don't work. And: The beer garden closes at 10 p.m. – a bit early for a summer evening. Nevertheless: We'll definitely be back! I think the beer garden can do better – and with a little more love in the kitchen, this place would be really good.

Always a busy place and hard to find reservations for the restaurant. Food variety is very limited at the biergarten. You have some more alternatives at the restaurant but still somewhat limited. Being recently restored, it has great atmosphere. An outside playground is available if you have children.

One of the most beautiful and best beer gardens around Munich. Above-average pub food, fantastic beer, friendly service, and fair prices. The entire grounds alone are worth a visit.

Highly recommended. A little hidden away, there's a really nice playground for the kids. The food is excellent. A tip: reserve a table in advance. Totally cozy.

A rustic inn with honest food and relaxed, yet super friendly service. Highly recommended – the pork knuckle with a crispy crust and juicy meat. We were there five years ago and it was just as good. You can even help yourself to a homemade schnapps to finish off the meal. Excellent value for money!

Yes and no. 😉. Superbly renovated. Another great beer garden, the old-school style. With local guests and no tourists. With local dishes (I judge the quality by the Bavarian-fresh sausage salad... and it was great) and great beer. I'm not Bavarian, but I went to Bavaria with my parents and grandparents 60 years ago. I was hoping for Saures Lungerl (a kind of sausage), but it was the wrong time of year. I'm very disappointed with Bavarian restaurants. Everything is geared towards tourists and mainstream. Things were different 20 years ago. Times change, but I'm glad that oases like this still exist. So yes and no, I'm happy to give it a good review, but I'd be happy if it remained an oasis.

The restaurant is particularly racist towards foreigners and people of color. No respect for people. The waitress assigned us a table and then decided to give it to a German family. Tips come from the waitress, and such poor service convinced me I'll never return.

The roast pork "Zum Gustl" tastes excellent! Tender and juicy meat with a fine crust. The staff is attentive and very friendly. The decor is typically Bavarian—definitely cozy.

A jewel in the West. Every detail has been lovingly renovated with a lot of passion. Always a treat. A highlight for the kids, too.

Lots of beautiful rooms, it's really cozy inside. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the food and drinks were excellent, and the prices were practically a bargain. I'd love to go back.

We came here based on a recommendation. Well, Augustiner has breathed new life into an extraordinary property. Everything has a very traditional, Bavarian feel. The spacious, diverse dining rooms are beautifully designed and tastefully renovated. Everything is very cozy and well-crafted. Our chosen dishes were of excellent quality, impeccable in both appearance and taste. A freshly tapped Augustiner beer on tap rounded off the dining experience. We'd love to come back!

Always a highlight! Traditional, old-fashioned inn-style. Excellent brewery cuisine at extremely fair prices. For us, it's still the highlight of all restaurants in this style. Highly recommended: the Kaiserschmarrn. The portion size is insane and comfortably serves 4-5 people or as a main course. The only downside: like many inns, it can get very loud with larger groups. We're already looking forward to our next visit to Munich—of course, to Dürnbräu again.

Attention tip police!! Unfortunately, I have to write this review. I once gave this restaurant a very good review. Today, I learned that the proprietor explained to me that we (my wife and I) are already known for giving bad tips. What happened? I ordered a Cordon Bleu, which was unfortunately raw in some parts (not good for pork). The mistake was immediately corrected, and the dish was returned. I wasn't actively offered anything to rectify this mishap. When I asked for it, I was offered an espresso. When I explained that I didn't drink espresso at that time of night, the waiter offered me schnapps. I asked for grappa. The proprietor declined because it was too expensive. When I asked for it, the proprietor explained that I was only trying to negotiate for a grappa, which was much more expensive than espresso, etc. He also explained that we were already known to give poor tips to the staff. I don't know what that has to do with the current case, and besides, I'm under the impression that a 5-7% tip is good, apparently not. Dear Mr. Landlord, scaring away regulars for 5-7 euros is truly sad, and then kicking them about the fact that the tips are always too meager is even sadder. A shame and unnecessary. The one star for poor service only refers to the landlord. P.S. The burger was also very raw on one of our other visits, but we didn't say anything because you have to let things slide sometimes. But twice raw is simply not good. Unfortunately, I was forced to revise my good rating after this experience.
