Nice inn on the corner with very good cuisine with everything that Bavaria has to offer in terms of classics, from north to south, from west to east, Swabia, Franconia, etc., everything there and excellently cooked. By the way, the lentils with spaetzle are amazing, they taste just like mom used to make them. Pleasant atmosphere, friendly, quick service and acceptable prices. What more could you want?! The concept is right.

Super pleasant and fine pub in Maxvorstadt. The decor is spartan and the service is very friendly and attentive. The food is delicious and freshly prepared. The food also came for all of us at the same time, so no one had to wait. I would make a reservation in advance if you want to go there, as the inn is busy. We'll definitely be back.

Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted warmly, were able to sit down immediately and both ordered the wiener schnitzel. Food and drinks came quickly and were excellent! We were looking for typical Bavarian food and we got it here. Both the schnitzel and potato salad were delicious. The atmosphere is nice and homely. Unfortunately we didn't take a photo, we just enjoyed the atmosphere and experience. When we get back to Munich, we at least know where we are going to eat

Best Bavarian in Munich in my opinion. It has a lot of vegan and vegetarian options, with creative weekly specials. Absolutely recommended.

Best Bavarian and Swabian inn far and wide. Everything on the menu is excellent. Changing weekly menus with also fantastic food! Nevertheless, the Königsberger meatballs, the fried chicken, the Gröstl, the sauerbraten, the lentils with spaetzle, three kinds of dumplings, meat patties, Augustiner are also worth highlighting... Everyone else can get involved… be it fancy and expensive around the corner or rustic and established. Just keep it up!

the ambiance is really nice, kind of a mix of bavarian and modern restaurant with space for big groups. l ordered a chicken soup which was incredibly tasty and warmed my heart lol. after waiting 24 minutes for my schnitzel and kartoffelsalat, l was disappointed. l found that the potato sizes were unevenly cut and not well cooked, since there were some bits hard to bite. regarding the sauce, there was a very strong -almost cough inducing- mustard taste that outshined all of the flavors. l could also add that the berries jam wasn’t actually a jam? but just the full fuit.

We had three types of dumplings: super tasty. We had sausage salad: super tasty. A nice selection of wines and beer at the right temperature. Satisfaction. Then the service comes and takes the last reason for a hate rating. What can you say? Everyone go there. It Is. Good.

Great Bavarian food away from the “brauhaus mainstream”. You can taste that everything is fresh and homemade. The changing weekly menu with some regional dishes is also great.

Went here right after we touched down in Munich. Perfect place to wind down - the beef broth with liver meatballs was so good for recovery. The snitzel was juicy, with the great interplay with the cold, acidic cucumber and potatoes base. Maybe my perception of Bavarian food has been mistaken, it can be so delicious! Obacht service staff were also professional, fast and friendly. Kudos to the team.

We ate there in the evening on April 19, 2024. Both the schnitzel and the potato salad were just almost tasteless, and that for just under 28 euros...! All 6 of us were dissatisfied with the food. Unfortunately, I have rarely eaten so modestly. Service and beer were good but definitely won't be returning for a second visit.

Nice quaint looking restaurant with good German cuisine. We were in the mood for something hearty Bavarian-style and found out about it via a Google Maps search. Parking in the area is a bit difficult as you often have to circle around or take public transport. I myself chose the three types of bread dumplings, the dish consists of one each with spinach, beetroot and oyster mushrooms. There is also a nut butter and mountain cheese. All three were delicious, I can't say which was the best. My husband chose the King Ludwig meatballs with parsley potatoes and beer sauce, plus a coleslaw. These were also really tasty and really nice and fluffy. Dessert couldn't be missed either, so I decided on the wheat beer tiramisu. This was very light and had no beer note at all, making it ideal for anyone who doesn't actually like beer. We would come back at any time if we are nearby. The staff was super friendly and really on the ball.

We had such a wonderful evening. Such good food just makes you happy 😍. The menu is complemented by a great weekly menu. Here everyone can find what they like best. And I would also like to highlight the service, which was really attentive and courteous. We will definitely come back next time we visit Munich.

Even without a reservation, I was able to find a place there as an individual. Unfortunately, I chose the wrong food for my body. They were dumplings served with plenty of nut butter. The butter was way too much for my taste. But the dumplings were truly a little masterpiece and incredibly tasty! There was a small problem with the payment, so the debit was made twice, but after two emails the problem was solved and the money was refunded to me.

The food was excellent, we had the Baden sauerbraten and the boiled beef with root vegetables. The service was also very attentive, our very friendly waitress stopped by every 10 minutes at the latest and also took care of our dog, even in the back corner when the restaurant was full. The beer was wonderfully cold and on tap, the atmosphere was pleasant and the guests were a diverse mix of students, seniors and families with small children, couples and groups. Everyone obviously felt at home. Only the noise level is very high, due to the partly vaulted ceilings. All in all great and we would love to come back!

Had a really cozy evening with very tasty food. The dumplings, the celery schnitzel and everything else were really tasty. The beer was well tapped and cold.

We were guests at the care in a small group on Tuesday evening. Reservations are always advisable as the care is always busy. The service is great, relaxed, friendly and fast. All dishes tasted were also absolutely fine. I don't need to waste any words about Augustiner beers :-)

Best restaurant I went to in Munich. Schnitzel was perfectly cooked. Roast pork in beer sauce was amazing. Comfy atmosphere with very kind and attentive service. Couldn't recommend it more highly.

Update Januar 2024: Leider nicht mehr so gut. Wir waren Sonntag da, 70 Euro für 2 Suppen und 2 Mini Schnitzel mit Getränken. Qualitativ leider 2,5 von 5. früher war das Schnitzel hier echt klasse. Schade. Mal sehen vielleicht geben wir dem Obacht im Sommer nochmal eine Chance. ———————— Bedienung immer sehr nett. Essen ist immer gut und preislich ok. Gerade mit auswärtigen immer einen Besuch wert.

Auf allen Ebenen 5 Sterne. Essen, Bier, Kellner. Immer wieder gerne. Super Lokal.

Ein super schönes Wirtshaus in München mit wechselnder Wochenkarte. Absolut zu empfehlen, wenn man echtes Wirtshausfeeling möchte, aber auch gutes Essen und ohne bayerischen Kitsch.

Super aufmerksames Team, alles hat geklappt, man wird schnell versorgt, auch wenn der Laden voll ist, Essen lecker. Was will man mehr, wenn man ins Wirtshaus geht. :) Wir kommen wieder.

Ganz nett - die Karte liest sich gut, auch ein paar ungwöhnliche Gerichte, die einen neugierig machen. Leider waren hinterher doch fast alle enttäuscht - bis auf mich und ich hab leider vergessen, was ich hatte. Aber es gibt auch fränkische Bratwürste - das kann gar nicht verkehrt sein. Und nett sind die Leute auf jeden Fall

Alles bestens, nur das geforderte Zeitlimit für unseren Besuch war etwas störend, aber verständlich, weil wir kurzfristig reserviert hatten.

Die Knödel waren super lecker, das Personal auch ganz freundlich. Etwas schade nur, dass es ziemlich laut war...der 'Dekobraukessel' unter dem wir gesessen haben verstärkt die Lautstärke wohl 😅

Ein sehr gemütliches Wirtshaus mit der perfekten Kombination aus Moderne und Urigkeit. Das Essen schmeckt ausgezeichnet, das Bier sowieso. Besonderes Lob verdient der stets freundliche und aufmerksame Service, weiter so!

Wir hatten gestern einen Tisch im Obacht reserviert für 6 Personen. 2 der Personen sagten erst ab, was wir telefonisch mitteilten. Die beiden kamen dann aber doch noch spontan vorbei. Die Reaktion der Kellnerin war nicht gerade freundlich. Allgemein ist der Service dort zu bemängeln. Ein anderes Mal aß ich mit meiner Freundin dort ein Schnitzel für den stolzen Preis von 23€. Als wir fertig gegessen hatten aber noch nicht mal ausgetrunken hatten, fragte uns der Wirt ob wir den Tisch verlassen könnten, da spontan neue Gäste gekommen waren. Ich finde das ist keine Art mit den Gästen umzugehen. Das Essen war gut.

Been going to this little Augustiner gem in Maxvorstadt since it opened a few years back (so shame on me for not posting a review of the place earlier). There’s always a nice crowd of people there and the staff are very friendly. The weekly menu is both traditional and modern. I tried their Ukrainian/Bavarian borscht this evening which was tasty, hearty and filling 😍. It goes without saying that I would recommend the place but be sure to book in advance. It’s a popular venue for a good reason.

Nette, kleine Kneipe, recht eng, Lautstärkepegel ziemlich hoch. Wir waren nur für einen Absacker da, daher kann Essen nicht beurteilt werden. Nette, aufmerksame Bedienung.

Das war ein toller Abend! Gutes frisch gezapftes Bier, rustikale Tische, bayerische gute Küche und sehr aufmerksame, schnelle und nette Servicekräfte. Das passt. 😀

Best classic Bavarian food I've had in Munich. Only good and properly made Wiener Schnitzel I've had in Munich. All other dishes great as well. Full recommendation

It's quite obvious a lot of money was invested in making the restaurant look traditional. They've done a good job at it. I had the sauerbraten, which was a little underwhelming and lacked seasoning. Not sure the cooks actually taste the food. And for both of ihr follow-up drinks we were made to wait about 10 minutes with empty glasses even though it was a slow night. Not sure I'd recommend this place if German food is what you're after. The competition is fierce in Munich.

Unser allerliebstes Stammwirtshaus im Viertel :) Tolle Speiskarte (+ abwechslungsreiche Wochenkarte), super freundlicher Service, schönes Ambiente und frischgezapftes Augustiner, das einem das Herz höher schlagen lässt. Und auch vegetarisch und vegan kommt man auf seine Kosten. On top sind die Preise für Münchner Verhältnis auch noch überaus fair! Unbedingt mal hingehen 😁

This is one of my favorite restaurants in all of Munich. They have traditional food, but cooked in a more creative and interesting way than it would be in your regular Wirtshaus. We always take our visitors there, and we always get good food and service. Definitely recommend, and definitely reserve beforehand as it is quite popular with the locals.

Das Obacht ist einen Besuch wert. Oder auch zwei oder mehr... Sehr freundliches Personal, gemütliche Atmosphäre und sehr leckere Schnitzel. Natürlich mit einem Hellen. Wir kommen wieder!

Sehr gute, abwechslungsreiche Küche mit Wochenkarte. Viele verschiedene Fleischgerichte, aber auch viele vegetarische Gerichte wie Semmelknödel mit Schwammerl oder Kässpatzen. Mein Lieblingsgericht am Wochenende - Schweinsbraten!!! Man wird vorher bei der Reservierung immer gefragt, ob 2 Stunden zum Essen reichen oder ob man den Tisch länger haben möchte. Reserviert man per Maill, kriegt man innerhalb kürzester Zeit eine freundliche Antwort. Durchgehend freundliches Personal. Die Besitzer werden hier in manchen Kritiken als unfreundlich dargestellt. Dies kann ich überhaupt nicht bestätigen. Im Gegenteil- wir werden seit Jahren herzlich empfangen und unseren Extrawünschen wurde immer entsprochen. Habe kürzlich eine Auseinandersetzung mit einem extrem unfreundlichen Gast mitbekommen, der sich total aufgeführt hat, weil er sich den Tisch nicht aussuchen durfte. Diese Person wurde extrem unhöflich und beleidigend. Ich hab mich gewundert wie lange sich der Chef die Provokationen gefallen hat lassen… Wie man in den Wald rein ruft… !! Fazit: Wer bayrische Küche gerne genießt, nicht überteuert essen möchte und nicht wie in einem Touristenlokal abgefertigt werden will, ist hier genau richtig! Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen!!!
