After a visit to the botanical garden, we stopped here for lunch. Although located directly on Verdi Street, the terrace and beer garden in the backyard are nice and quiet. A real oasis with its old trees. The food was very good and it was a show to watch the service and the kitchen. During the peak period they were at full speed and still tried to fulfill all wishes. We'd love to come back!

We were there yesterday. Very cool and relaxed atmosphere. Very tasty food and nice staff. Very great playground for small children in the shade with swings, slide 🛝, small house, sandpit... Oh what a very positive thing with a changing table for babies. This is what a really child-friendly changing corner looks like, even with the wonders in all sizes. Very high praise to the staff! We'd love to come by again. You don't find such beautiful places every day.

Here you can relax in the rustic inn with the beautiful beer garden! The food is down-to-earth and tastes good. The service, funny and pleasant! Definitely worth a visit again!

The good thing first: When I got my food after more than 50 minutes, it was really good and fresh. From the very attentive waiter at the beginning to the somewhat strange waitress, everything was offered. Sometimes it's better to say nothing than to make such unpleasant comments.... . As a guest you don't want to hear such nonsense. First think, ask colleagues, then act quietly. That would be the way... And maybe teach people again how to view payment transactions in the cash register. The colleague explained everything. But something remains. A pity. I hope both faux pas were an exception.

Addendum: Still great Two years ago my review wasn't the best: food overly salty, service extremely slow. Today we were there again with friends who wanted to teach us something better and I have to say hats off. Good food, good service, we would love to come back. The almost 4 hours we were there flew by.

Celebrated our sons graduation here with his friends. Had a great time! Drinks and food were spot on!

Classic Bavarian. Good, down-to-earth cuisine. One of the few places where cards are still played. Very well attended (reservation recommended). The highlight for us is the beer garden, where you can also order food from the normal menu.

Wonderful restaurant with a beer garden and excellent Bavarian cuisine.

We had a place on the terrace and were served in a totally unfriendly manner by a woman with a long braid in a dirndl... The lady was very unfriendly to dogs… And really pushed us to pay at 9 p.m. even though the store was open until 11 p.m.... Unfortunately I have to say that I don't go there anymore because I've never seen such unfriendly service... it's a shame...

Very nice, cozy restaurant, very tasty food! I can highly recommend the roast pork and Schäufele! Of course there are also good things to drink! The staff is very friendly and the food comes to the table quickly.

The Grüner Baum is particularly recommended in summer; in the Pasing area the beer garden is a great location to simply relax. The prices are average for a Munich beer garden, only the late opening time (from 3 p.m.) seems a bit strange. Depending on the day of the week, it can be quite full when the weather is nice, but you can still usually find a place. There is a small playground for children and, in an emergency, even diapers in the changing room. I haven't seen anything like that before either.

We, grandma, daughter-in-law and 2 children were here for lunch today Very friendly waiter, delicious asparagus soup and the small schnitzels were completely sufficient and at least as good as at home. Price-performance absolutely top

A very nice beer garden with great staff, quick and very attentive. The menu is small and clear. The Leberkäse wasn't a hit, but the Munich Schnitzel was. Value for money is great, especially due to the low prices for beer.

The food was good as always. Unfortunately, an amateur band was playing in the adjacent beer garden and it was so loud that it was no longer possible to have a conversation. Our waiter just shrugged his shoulders at the suggestion. We'll only come back when this band stops playing.

Great Bavarian food and drink in a cozy atmosphere

After the tenant changed, things were a bit chaotic when the new building opened. However, the quality of the food was still very good and “our” service was very friendly.

The food is tasty and fresh. Service is excellent. The only thing is it's a bit noisy inside the restaurant. Well, ppl talking to each other is fine,but the kids scream around it's not nice. It's not the restaurant's fault, but if the restaurant can provide a different room,like a family with kids only. That would be great for the other.

Traditional, rustic, Bavarian beer 🍺 and restaurant!!! The way it has to be! Remarkable price-performance ratio. Absolutely delicious, huge portions served by friendly, motivated service staff. And don't forget the best beer in the world: Augustiner! 🤩

The food is excellent (5€ for a mini side salad with 4-5 lettuce leaves is absolutely excessive). Light beer from a wooden barrel on Tuesdays and Fridays, what more could you want (sometimes from 5:30 p.m., which is not stated online). Service staff are always friendly and attentive :) It doesn't hurt to make a reservation.

I've been a regular at the Grüner Baum for 8 years now, to be precise, since Ms. Sperl and Mr. Brezean took over the restaurant and have lovingly run it ever since. Thanks to their head chef, Mr. Haimerl, they have been offering home-style Bavarian cuisine of consistent quality at fair prices since they reopened. The friendly service team, including Yvonne and Max, and the serving of Augustiner beer round off this successful package and contribute greatly to enriching the gastronomic offerings in Obermenzing. In summer you can relax under old chestnut trees in the adjacent beer garden. Great class, keep it up! :)

Top Bavarian economy in -->Augustinian quality. We came across the restaurant by chance. The onion roast is simply very good with roasted onions and spaetzle, plus a salad. Food first class, we'll be back, the best onion roast in Munich :-) Nicely decorated with a red perperoni, large portions and the salad included. Very good friendly service

The green tree is a typical Bavarian inn and we have never been disappointed. There is a good selection of food and the best Munich schnitzel in the city 😋😋 The prices have remained moderate even after the VAT increase, so you can definitely afford a visit here. During our visit there was Augustiner from the barrel and a Maximator (strong beer) typical of Lent. There are parking spaces directly in the yard

The portions (green tree salad, meat patties) were generous, the salad dressing was good, but somehow not really that special. The planters probably had a lot of Knofi in them, but at least it upset my stomach a bit. The service was impeccable. If you like good home-style or Bavarian cuisine and don't necessarily want to watch the Champions League, you'll get your money's worth here. Reservation is definitely not a mistake.

Was always my favorite restaurant... unfortunately the prices have been massively adjusted several times over the last 3 years and now of course again. Unfortunately, the portions were constantly being adjusted. I would now have to order 2 portions... I can't afford it anymore... it's a shame... I have no idea which direction this is going to take, but that's definitely the wrong direction to pass everything on to the consumer

Herausragendes Restaurant mit klassisch bayrischem Flair. Egal ob Mittagessen oder zum Feierabendbier. Die Tageskarte ist sehr zu empfehlen! Ich war schon etliche Male dort und habe noch nie ein Gericht ausgesucht, das nicht sofort nochmal wählen würde.

Schöne bayerische Gaststätte mit schönem Biergarten. Von der nahen Straße bekommt man kaum etwas mit. Schnelle und freundliche Bedienung. Essen ist solide Hausmannskost und sehr gut. Es scheinen dort auch sehr viele Einheimische einzukehren. Dabei auch noch recht günstig.

Wir waren zum Mittagessen auf der Suche nach einer bayerischen Wirtschaft in der Gegend und sind nicht enttäuscht worden. Sehr solide 4 Punkte. Das Essen war gut, der Service ging recht schnell. Preislich auch sehr in Ordnung.

Über zwei Sterne kommt er hier nicht darüber! Leider kann man sich auf Reservierungungsplätze nicht verlassen! Man wird kurzfristig in den nebenraum verwiesen, da sei man unter sich und es wäre ruhiger! Hat ganz gut geklungen, doch kam der Männerstammtisch mmmh! Das Essen ist an verschieden Tagen mal so, oder ganz anders. Die Wirtschaft an sich könnt eine Restaurierun vertragen, doch ich glaube sie hängt an der Bahngenossenschaft, welche da kein Interesse hat.
