We had a lovely lunch and brilliant service. Our waiter was exceedingly helpful and even gave us a recommendation for souvenirs to take home for our grandchildren 😀

Ate there twice. Every time outside at lunchtime, bad service. Forgot pretzels. Forgot glass. Served from the left.... Well. Loveless

Classic pub, but this one, unlike others, with courteous service, the waiter, who also spoke a little Italian, was able to advise us on the choice of dishes and beers.

“The” Weissbierbräu. In the last few decades the menu has changed quite a bit... Not only for the better, BUT that doesn't affect the quality and no one has touched the mustard and that's something to celebrate... When there's a lot going on, there's no more Weisswurst, then the Leberkäs has to serve, and also a poem. Apple strudel somewhere between fruity Viennese and English bread pudding... Divine.

09/01/2024: 30mn. Wait > notice to head waiter who doesn't do anything > 10mn. . Waiting > the waiter was spoken to again > another waiter came > food after another 20 minutes. > never again!!!!

Waited over 30 minutes and were not even given a menu so unable to comment on food and drink but the service is shocking

Just went for a drink and could be nice but service was slow and rude.

Restaurant uncomfortable since renovation, just standard ambience, no individual recognition value. Leberkäs very good, pretzels not freshly baked. Indian waiter rude, wiped down our table (for a reservation starting in 10 minutes) while we were still sitting and couldn't even pay, unmistakable expulsion strategy. I have known the restaurant since 1987, but unfortunately it is no longer recommended today.

If you're ever in Munich, you can go there... it's not a highlight, but it's ok for a visit. We were only there for a short time, about an hour, had a drink, something to eat, then moved on straight away... that's good. Food wasn't as expected (ok, I'm spoiled 😂), but for the price I would have expected a little less "canteen food from an upscale company". By the way, we were 4 people. The service was very friendly.

The staff was very unfriendly, except for the man of Indian descent. When I asked a waiter to pay, they gave me a dirty look, waved back sarcastically, and the waiters stayed where they were. Unacceptable! A salad had to be ordered separately for €6.50!

Pub in the center with an outdoor space. We had a beer and a pretzel as an aperitif. We didn't have dinner. Nothing special. Our waiter was friendly, other waiters I noticed were not, unfortunately.

I've never eaten in the restaurant here - I've always just been in the kitchen because there's a hidden street vendor there. Highly recommended. If you don't feel like all the tourist hustle and bustle, treat yourself to an LKS with pretzel roll and sweet mustard.

Stay away. Very expensive for very little value. A glass of water is €3.80. That says it all. Almost €60 for two people for nothing.

Unfortunately we were greeted very unfriendly, which continued until after we ordered our drinks. The waitress, Ms. S., was so unfriendly that we decided not to order any food. It's a shame - since we've actually been guests when we're in Munich for several decades. For us it is clear that it was the last visit there - to be reprimanded if you think for a moment whether you want water with or without gas (I'm talking about 3 seconds here). Children don't seem to be wanted either - which I understand if a child doesn't behave - which doesn't apply to us. Very disappointing. The lady also spoke very unkindly to her colleagues!

Very good food and very particular environment.

We've taken mushrooms with bread-dumplings and cheese spaetzle - very tasty. Order taken by Mr. Robert, who ensured professional service and a positive atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Overall - place much recommended.

The portions of the food have become significantly smaller since our last visit last year.

Very good option to eat in Munich. Located in a very pleasant area with few tourists, it has a large terrace and is very comfortable. We liked the dishes we ordered, sausages, meat and potatoes, and the beer, Franziskaner, very well. Even the cake we had for dessert was good. Attentive service. Highly recommended, to return.

We just wanted something to drink and first had to wait 20 minutes for a table. After the waitress walked past us 20 times and after repeated requests, we were finally served after 30 minutes. It's not possible to skilfully ignore it

I just had the best beer and typical German food of hole Munich with my best friend. But the BEST PART was the service with de Oliveira, a very friendly, polite and fun Brazilian waiter. Just made our experience even better. I would go back again.

Hearty German restaurant with a meaty menu. Good place for a pint and some pork - very satisfying. Very conveniently open late, with breezy, no nonsense service and cozy booths for privacy.

For the first time ever in my life I stood up from the table at a restaurant and left without eating. I waited with my mom fo 1 hour and 20 mins and the food was not yet served. We did pay for our drinks. I would have blushed in shame from embarrassment as a restaurant owner when something like this happens. Evidently here they don’t feel like it’s their problem

Very unfriendly service and asked us for tips for that. If you shows that the closing time is 23:30, then don’t blame us for coming at 22:30 and makes it a reason for tips. And if we give you tips, please be friendly and at least say something nice to your customers when you want to close the restaurant ok? We PAID for it.

Not the most beautiful brewery, not the best beer, not the best food, not the best service. Everything is correct but without falling in love.

Didn’t have food. Just drinks. Took so long to simply get the bill and even asked multiple waiters yet they needed the one who served us before??? Like can no one else print the bill and take payment?? Then expected a tip after all that and all we had was 3 drinks…

Not speaking German and the waiter not speaking French, communication in English, good food and well served but the salads are not seasoned, dirty mustard pot, no basket of bread.

I should have read the reviews before going to this place, We went there for lunch and asked for the table, which we were provided,  then we asked a waiter (some south Asian or middle eastern guy) for any chicken dishes in the menu, and he opened a page with Vegan/Vegatarish dishes, I asked him very politely where the chicken dish is, and he was like "CAN YOU READ?" and left , If that attitude was coming from a German server, I could understand,  but that kind of attitude from a asian guy with very unhygienic appearance,  just couldn't understand,  left the place without ordering anything, *GERMAN servers were polite, but unfortunately we were sitting in this asian guy's service area,

It's a German beer hall with typical dishes, so don't expect much. The dishes are not cared for in appearance and plating. The staff is friendly, the place is really central

Everything was great, especially the ladies serving were very nice and attentive. Unfortunately, this cannot be said about the young waiters, who only look but do not see the guest... The food and drinks were impeccable. Even though it's a place specializing in downtown tourists, it's worth a visit, the ice-cold applesauce in the warm Caesar crumble pan for 2 is brutally delicious.

Terrible service. We ordered two beers and the waitress very rudely told us several times that we had to drink it quickly because it was lunch time. As if we didn't have the right to order just beer.

Actually not a fan of restaurants in Munich Mitte, as they are expensive, unfriendly and not tasty. BUT everything didn't apply here. We had to wait a bit until a waitress came to the table. Good food, unfortunately served by people who to define as rude would be an understatement. Contact with the public definitely reviewable. Not very inclined to use English in conversations, despite the obvious language barrier. Welcome to the 21st century where one in four people has celiac disease: updates are needed.

We were not at all happy with our last visit. The pork knuckle was tough and needed a little more time in the oven so that the meat came away from the bone and became tender. When you looked at the dumplings you noticed that they were still in the water from the lunch service. A dry bread was served with the sausage salad, which was already untwisted. It should be noted that a pretzel was brought, which was then charged at around €2.40. As a local, the waiter will also talk to you stupidly from the side because you speak Bavarian and since the tables outside are so close together, he will also drip water (probably beer) on your head with his tablet as you walk past. (Of course without apology if you complain) It's a shame, we actually used to enjoy coming to eat before the opera, but now we can save money.

We have been waiting 35 minutes before asking the waiter to gently take our order. Nobody came and we left without having the chance to experience their food. Moreover, the moment we left the restaurant there were plenty of people, came after us, already enjoying their lunch. Not a good experience at all :(

Cute, cozy restaurant in the center of Munich. The negative is that my girlfriend was given the wrong drink. In principle, our discount was for the drink, in comparison, they only gave a discount for the dessert.

Absolutely iconic restaurant/beer garden, simply huge, but everything still works and the food is delicious, we'll be back.

This place offers a typical tourist experience, prioritizing efficiency over quality. The indoor dining room boasts a pleasant atmosphere, and the menu features all the popular German dishes. However, both presentation and taste are merely average. Our visit was further marred by an unnecessary argument between waiters over who would serve us. This establishment seems designed for rapid, mass production to accommodate large tourist groups. Nothing special or outstanding; it feels more like a tourist trap than a traditional venue for locals.

The restaurant is typical, very well decorated, the tablecloths are elegant, the dishes taste great. The waitress, Ms. Stock, is personable, quick and professional!

I can't comment on the food. Unfortunately I didn't even manage to order. The service just didn't come. Both waiters I spoke to harshly rejected me. You are not responsible for this row of tables. Then Soe probably didn't want to sell anything.

Hot day! Full restaurant but found a table by the staff. Food was OK... too much sauce and just one small dbl fish fillet (Herring Hausfrauenart) My wife had the Schweinkrustenbratan with Klöse. Tasted very good, and a good portion.

Very (too) touristy restaurant: it's quite expensive and not necessarily good (very salty and not very refined) and the service really needs to be reviewed. The waiter wanted to force us to take bottled mineral water even though we had just asked for a carafe. He was also very rude and barely spoke to us.

Average sausages, expensive but ok. For some reason I ordered beer with dismantling, it’s better not to, it tastes like champagne ;) There were a lot of flies outside in August, it’s better to take a place inside In general, the staff does not seem very friendly and waiting for a menu or check can be problematic

Traditional Bavarian cuisine without fuss in heart of Munich. Recommend the creamy mash and pork knuckle. Service efficient.

Ristorante centrale molto carino, che mi ha sorpreso con un bel menù. Sono andata con amici che lo avevano proposto come una delle solite birrerie, infatti, e mi aspettavo il classico menù delle birrerie/biergarten di Monaco, invece offre molta più scelta di piatti “da ristorante” mantenendo comunque un bel clima informale e sereno. Ho provato una Flammkuchen enorme che mi è piaciuta molto, e gli altri commensali hanno mangiato hamburger, carne e dolci tipici tutti molto graditi. Stavo così bene che ho anche bevuto una birra piccola anche se a me non piace la birra. Decisamente consigliato come esperienza “tipica”!

Last night we had the dubious pleasure of visiting this restaurant. What we experienced there was nothing short of SHOCKING and absolutely unacceptable. After a short time we witnessed a scene that deeply embarrassed us and the other guests. A waiter yelled at a group of tourists in a way that crossed all professional boundaries. We sat right next to them and felt extremely uncomfortable and embarrassed. It's well known that service in some Bavarian restaurants can be rather rough, but what we experienced last night was simply grotesque. Something like that simply can't happen in Munich. This type of behavior is unacceptable and suggests that staff urgently need better training. Although the food was fine, the experience of the evening was completely ruined by this outrageous behavior from the waiter. We were deeply shocked and so were many of the neighboring tables. Such a spectacle definitely spoiled the whole evening. I absolutely do not support a waiter believing that he can treat guests with such disrespect just because they are tourists. Ultimately, it is these tourists who bring the restaurant money. The waiter should serve the guests with a smile, as is usual in good restaurants. Due to this incident, I unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant at all. We will definitely never come here again.

After a long car journey, this is a great place to drink a nice cold wheat beer.

We came with our dog at lunchtime. Service very friendly. Crusty roast on Mondays as a daily offer is a recommendation. There were treats for the dog. Lovely again!

I actually like the store. The food isn't particularly good, but it's actually pretty decent. Unfortunately the service is very bad. Like some other visitors to the opera opposite, we just wanted to drink a beer during our 50-minute break. Unfortunately, five waiters referred us to the next one until the last waitress said after waiting 20 minutes that we would have to wait indefinitely.

Well, what can you say? I specifically asked what could be done quickly (opera break!), chose sausage salad and after 25 minutes I had to leave again. Without food. Nothing going on in the restaurant Sunday 7 p.m.

We only had drinks there and they were very drinkable and tasty. The atmosphere is very rustic.

Today again at the Franciscan. We had the "Breakfast Combo with Leberkäs" ... the Leberkäs and mustard are always good 🤗 at a great price, and the fried chicken salad. Very good portion with proper! Baked chicken shares, very good potatoes and lamb's lettuce, also a very good price/performance ratio. Fast and friendly service... what more could you want We'll be back soon! On Sunday, after a really long time, we spontaneously went to the Franziskaner for dinner. 1x 200 gr. Leberkäs, really one of the best in Munich and the mustard is just great😍!. 1x suckling pig, very well roasted and good meat quality, juicy, tender but still with a bite and a great crust! Coleslaw not perfect but good. Very good "mini" dumplings and plenty of sauce served in a gravy boat! The sauce and meat could have been seasoned a little more boldly for my taste, but it was still so good that I ordered more dumplings so I didn't have any left over. Service was also quick, attentive and very friendly. .. . and about the Corona rules: it was the first time that someone wanted to see our vaccination certificate and ID.

The food I ordered was delicious. The hamburger was especially impressive.

Dismal service.. waited 20 minutes just to get the bill

Great restaurant, very nice and hard-working business. I wasn't super happy with my meal, because I didn't eat a la cart with company either, so it wasn't representative. I will gladly come again.

A small portion at a great price

Unfortunately the Kaiserschmarrn doesn't taste good. I had a fight with the duck. Because it wasn't good but it was a nice atmosphere.

Went here for the leberkäse, ordered a large portion, was very disappointed by two small pieces. Quality good, but quantity poor.

Things used to be better here. Overtourism leaves its mark. The Tafelspitz was unable to meet the price/performance expectations.

Slow service. Order arrived very delayed and separated. In my opinion, the price/performance ratio is not right. It's a shame, I would have hoped for more.

Service was generally ok, but our private conversations at the table were interfered with (?!?). The food was mediocre. I ordered a dish with chanterelles and it ended up being mushrooms. And then selling the whole thing for €26 is pretty cheeky. 🤡 I won't be back, sorry 😅

👍 Really tasty food and a really friendly waiter

We sat on the terrace, which was quite cramped. There were many waiters, but the service was dismal. The waiters were arguing with each other and there was lots of walking around, but not seeming to get anything done. Seeing disgruntled guests made the atmosphere just not good. The food was great, however. We were all happy with our meals. Maybe a bit of waiter training wouldn't go astray. Food is just one aspect of eating out. Don't forget the rest.
