Ein klassisches deutsches Wirtshaus – ordentliches Essen, faire Preise. Aber der Service? Ach, der Service... Sobald der Hauptgang vorbei ist, kann man sich praktisch eine Leuchtrakete zünden, um bemerkt zu werden – für das Dessert, die Rechnung, irgendetwas. Man sitzt, man wartet, man fragt sich, ob man unsichtbar geworden ist. Einmal, zweimal, dreimal – wie oft kann man sich zum Narren machen lassen? Wir haben dem Ganzen genug Chancen gegeben. Das war’s für uns.

Quaint pub, good beer and actually delicious food. However, you can smell the deep fryer from outside. After the visit, the clothes definitely have to go in the wash. If that doesn't bother you, you can have a good time here. 😀

Very good cuisine, nice beer garden in summer

We were there as a group of colleagues and were very satisfied. The food was typically Bavarian, hearty, very tasty and absolutely reasonable in terms of price. Plus delicious light beer from Aying. In front of the entrance the fish were lying over the fire. Where can you still find something like that these days? I'd love to come back!

Very nice service, nice beer garden, nice interior, I've never seen such clean toilets. The food was perfect and plentiful. The prices are a little higher but it's worth it. It was a lovely afternoon... thank you very much!

Yes, definitely a good address for predominantly Bavarian food in the north-east of Munich. Meat dominates, but there are also good vegetarian dishes. And those who like it vegan will also be served accordingly. When the weather is nice, there is a cozy beer garden. Otherwise there is a winter garden lots of sun.

was a big fan in the last few years, this time we were put outside next to a loud gas cannon with the promise that something would be released soon. The food was also lukewarm and came one after the other so we couldn't eat together, no matter there are more local ones. works without us too.

It was my visit to the "Dicken Sophie" and I was completely satisfied! Bavarian, cozy atmosphere with lots of wood and rustic seating areas. Very fast and attentive service with a lot of joy in the work and the guests. The veal schnitzel was to die for – buttery tender and a large portion. For dessert I shared a Kaiserschmarrn and it was crispy, caramelized - perfect. The prices are more than fair. Absolutely recommended!

Great food, mediocre service Yesterday's meal (vegan burger + small fried chicken salad) was also very good to excellent in the New Year. There were only a few other guests there, so it was a rather stress-free weekday lunch. Unfortunately, this time we missed the feeling of being welcome from the lady who was mainly responsible for us. From the first order to billing. The first bill was another more expensive order, the second bill was our order and even more that we didn't have. When deducting the amounts verbally, things weren't that precise. I hope it was a mistake because there was no “I made a mistake or I’m sorry.” To be honest, I regretted the tip afterwards. Not because of incorrect billing, which can happen from time to time, but rather how it is handled. I come from a service profession myself and find this very unfortunate and unprofessional. We have always enjoyed going to Fat Sophie for decades. So we hope that this was an exception so that we can continue to enjoy the good food.

5 stars, really? Absolutely! We were there again after a long break of 15 years and it was like coming home: 1. Friendly, personable, quick-witted and quick service 2. Cozy atmosphere 3. The food was simply great. In our case, both crusty roast and onion roast roast - both don't work any better. Point! 4. A fun and sociable evening 5. Fair prices in comparison. In short: a real and honest recommendation!

I was there for lunch for the first time today. I was very positively surprised. The service was quick, unobtrusive and professional. Original pub atmosphere. Rock solid. The veggie burger absolutely convinced me. Of course not haute cuisine, but really tasty. I am full of praise, despite my now rather critical attitude towards gastronomy. The small point deduction is due to the clearly noticeable smell of frying in the restaurant.

I've read a lot about it and was curious...My expectations were 100% fulfilled...The food is excellent, the service is courteous and friendly and the atmosphere finally has something Bavarian...I'll see Fat Sophie more often...I admit an additional ⭐ star for the nice service..wedding day was a success thanks to Sophie

First time visitors from US - so glad we found this place. Everything was wonderful. Had the schnitzel and loved it!

Staff really rude, except for one lady. I was asked to wait at the entrance for 7 minutes and was then not accompanied to the reserved table, but was just told, “Yes, you are sitting back there”. The food came relatively quickly despite the restaurant being full, which was positive and the food was also quite good.

One star too many! Roast pork (18.90!!!) was really overcooked, burnt black on the outside, dry on the inside and like an old rag. We returned a portion because a piece of meat, roast corner, was black as coal. The waitress apologized and brought a new portion. The same roast, no corner this time. You could only eat two small dumplings the size of golf balls. Our daughter ordered hamburgers. The meat was bloody inside. Before that we had soup (8.90!!!) which was lukewarm with semolina dumplings that were served ice cold in the middle. 2x soup, 2x roast pork and a hamburger with drink for 86,-. Food inedible. Nice service offered us schnapps as an apology. Drinks on an empty stomach, no thanks. Never again!

We stopped here on the way from the airport to the train station. Less than 5 minutes walk from the S-Bahn! The food was very tasty and the nice gentleman who served us was just great!!! Highly recommended!

The place is very relaxing, at least on the terrace, but the waitress takes a long time to serve, even if you ask her in advance, at least for the drinks. They give you a napkin for your food. And if you need another one it can take more than 5 minutes, it doesn't have a children's menu.

Since the restaurant doesn't respond to my email, here's a review... Dinner on October 11, 1024 (6 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.): Waitress (blond hair, around 55 years old?) didn't serve me anymore, even though she came into the tent 6-7 times and served other guests. After 30 minutes I went to the checkout and asked if I could order something to eat. She asked me where I was sitting and then replied that she would be there soon. Another 15 minutes passed, her waitress was in the tent 2-3 more times to serve others, but not me or us. My business partner from Japan had now arrived and I was extremely embarrassed by the service he had to witness. I then went back to the counter and confronted your waitress with the situation. She grimaced angrily, no sorry or anything like that, I was then allowed to order at the counter. The drinks (I had to order again at the counter) took even longer. In the meantime, other food was brought to the table that we hadn't ordered. Our food came after less than 10 minutes and that's how it tasted. The onion roast was rare instead of medium, and the fried potato wasn't even lukewarm. I was really worried about bypassing the food because that would have created more chaos. Nobody cleared away or came by to ask if it was tasty or if we would like another dessert. I was really happy that we walked out of the restaurant. I had to go to the checkout again to pay. The waitress must have thrown something in, she actually asked where we were sitting. And now: our consumption from table 31 wasn't even saved in the cash register! I was asked what we had eaten!!! The woman was completely incompetent, unfriendly and seemed completely overwhelmed! I have been traveling for work for 35 years and have eaten in many restaurants and beer gardens. I have NEVER been served so badly in 60 years! Your restaurant has a good reputation and I have always recommended it to others. I can understand that there was a lot going on and that everyone has a bad day sometimes, but there is no way to explain or excuse what happened.

First of all: The food was delicious but unfortunately it wasn't enough for a nice stay. My wife was insulted right at the entrance because she spoke to a nearby waiter. Without comment, a reserved sign was pulled out of my daughter's hand with the classic German grumpy groan because she glanced at it briefly while we were waiting. The store wasn't even full at the time. Either way, at least minimal politeness is part of the job as a waiter. You don't have to hug everyone but you should at least feel welcome. The tables are also very close together to generate maximum sales. So it's not the nicest atmosphere. Our waitress was very nice but please pay more attention to your staff or change your name to “Grumpy Sophie”

We were here today after the evening game, one of the few restaurants that are open on Saturdays and the kitchen is open until 10 p.m. It was super tasty, we had the veal schnitzel and loved it... everything was great here, the service, the atmosphere, would love to go back and see for yourself...

There were four of us eating - my husband and I chose the beef burger and asked for the patty to be fried medium. Didn't work. What came next was a burger with a standard round, very dark and dry slice of frozen meat. For the price and quality, with fries over €14 - way too expensive. Otherwise okay, but nothing more.

A really nice shop with great Bavarian food. Delicious Eyeinger and very friendly service. Especially the junior boss. Unfortunately I'm not from Munich so I rarely get to enjoy it. Great praise from Münsterland, which is too far away.

Unfortunately I am very disappointed... I've been here several times in the past and counted the roast pork as one of the best in/around Munich. At that time the price was €14.50, then at some point it was increased to around €16.50. We were there today and the roast pork cost a whopping €18.20 (for comparison: an average pork bar in MUC costs around €14). The high point was that the roast pork no longer tasted good. Quite dry, not tender, crust not crispy... A disgrace for the price. Unfortunately that was my last time here.

Booking at short notice with 13 people was no problem 😉 and we got the tables right next to each other. Eating took a while but tasted very tasty 🤤 The portions were also okay. Service is quick and takes care of you continuously. When paying, however, it takes 20 minutes until someone comes with a receipt 🧾 Parking is a complete disaster, it has a few on-site spaces, the rest is on the street and notoriously overcrowded.

If you are looking for a real home atmosphere and good food, this is the best place for you

Die zuletzt schlechten Bewertungen kann ich nicht nachvollziehen. Sehr große Wirtschaft mit umfangreicher und überwiegend bayerischer Speisekarte. Man kann sich also auf einfache und bodenständige Küche und keine großen Geschmackshighlights einstellen. Empfang und Service war freundlich, schnell und aufmerksam. Meine Nachfrage zu Komponenten eines Gerichts (selbst zubereitet bzw. zugekauft / Convenience / TK) wurde prompt beantwortet: vielen Dank für die Ehrlichkeit! Die Portionen waren groß und die Speisen auch schön angerichtet. Alles war geschmacklich gut und wir wurden somit nicht enttäuscht. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis geht auch in Ordnung. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

We were there twice in the last week. Once when it was very busy and once on a Wednesday when there was very little activity. The staff was both very slow. That Wednesday, even though there was hardly anything going on, waiters left us sitting unattended for over ten minutes. We also sat right in the middle of the garden, at a small round table where you can't easily be missed; not somewhere in the corner. I then asked a waiter passing by if anyone would be coming to see us soon. The waiter seemed to be responsible for other tables and just answered me "I have no idea!" and went on. Didn't make any attempt to inform the colleague in charge, even though the beer garden was quite empty (maybe around 25% capacity). At some point the waitress who was responsible for us came, said "Oh, I almost missed you" and gave us cards. No “I’m sorry” or anything like that. On the busy day at the weekend, the experience with another waiter wasn't good either, but there was a little more understanding because of the busy time. The food is still excellent, but the staff used to be a lot friendlier. That a waiter bluntly told me “I have no idea!” (i.e.: "I don't care!") when asked about the waitress in charge is something I've never experienced before in a restaurant.

The Wiener Schnitzel with fries is always a good choice. But mostly a little too much for me. Very much justifies its price due to the good taste and quantity. Staff sometimes very friendly sometimes normal depending on the stress, which is of course understandable.

Unfortunately, opening times and kitchen times do not match, so you drive through half of Munich and get a “NA KITCHEN IS OFF” shout at you. Very annoying.

A wonderfully authentic place. From the outside there was a brief doubt as to whether fat Sophie was open, it was open! I was greeted by a friendly service person who, as it turned out, has a good feel for people. Extremely empathetic and warm, I would come back at any time because of her alone. I only ordered a latte macchiato that day, which was extremely good. The café is supplied via Dinzler and there is a large professional portafilter machine behind the bar. I leave fat Sophie with a smile and say thank you! 😊

Hello, we've been there a lot, but the entrance looks shabby, there's no menu on the outside and the entrance could be cleaned and made nice by a gardener. From the outside it looks like it's deserted. Today we ate the homemade currywurst with fries, it was so bad for me never eaten the sausage was nothing, the sauce is my tomato sauce with lots of paprika, nothing more!!! I also have to say that you have raised the prices on the menu quite a bit!!!! In my opinion, the price/performance ratio no longer fits at all.

Authentic beer garden with a wide selection of food and drinks. I can recommend the browned liver cheese to everyone, it was super tasty. Plus an Ayinger and Kaiserschmarrn for dessert - to enjoy on Sunday.

Wonderful beer garden with friendly staff who don't let you get hurried. First of all, a big thank you to Leon for the great service. We felt completely comfortable at your table. You can sit back and relax in the shade of the old trees and enjoy the wonderfully fresh beer and eat something hearty. There should be something for everyone on this great map. All of the food was extremely tasty. If you want to take the S8 home after visiting the beer garden, it's only a 2-minute walk away.

We had our farewell party 6 years ago and back then the service was much better and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. This time we also had a reservation but our reservation wasn't carried out because there weren't enough people. We could have been told that in advance. The waitresses were sometimes almost unfriendly and some people had to wait a long time for their drinks. I doubt whether we will meet there again next time. The prices have also more or less doubled.

Really nice beer garden, the food is good and quite varied and the waiters are friendly. There are various Ayinger beers, light beer and cellar beer also on tap. The S-Bahn is within walking distance. If you are in the area, definitely an option, highly recommended 👍🍻

We have eaten here so many times and the food and service was always great. No idea what has happened but tonight was a disaster. Stressed waiting staff, running here and there. We waited just under 2 hours to get our food, then we were told that 2 of our dishes were no longer available. When it did arrive, we laughed at the sad state of the Zwiebelrostbraten. 29 Euros for this. No thank you. I sent it back but actually, nobody cared or asked why. Never again.

We had reserved for 13 people. When we asked for our table, it turned out that our reservation was not registered because reservations are only possible for "large" groups. We were not told this when we made our reservation over the phone. The waitress then said, find a place somewhere. So we did that too. But then another problem arose: each table had a different service. So we were told not to change tables. Since it was an annual meeting, this was difficult to implement. The food was good and the waitresses assigned to us were also very nice. However, we will plan our next annual meeting somewhere else. Maybe then, even though we're not a "big" group, we'll still be able to make a real reservation. What would we have done if the beer garden had been full???
