We spent a really nice evening here with extremely delicious food! Nice service & great atmosphere also points :) The fried potatoes, the schnitzel and the affogato were incredibly delicious!

I don't know, but this won't really be my store This was the fourth time I had lunch at lunchtime on a business meeting, but this restaurant failed to impress me on any of my visits. Sometimes the soup or salad is perfect and then you have a lukewarm main course or the starter is so-so and then you get a mega schnitzel. The beer, especially the Radler, can sometimes taste bland and the service is sometimes super attentive and then ten minutes later totally forgetful 🤷🏽‍♂️ I'll definitely try again but I wanted to share my experiences.

The food is very good and the staff is friendly. However, in my opinion the prices are too high and the beer is a joke, even with the dark wheat beer there was no foam left at the table after a minute, with the light beer the whole thing went even faster. Either the beers were extremely poorly poured or the glasses were not rinsed properly.

Service substandard and unfriendly. Curling rink reserved until 9 a.m. At 9:10 the lights are turned off without notice. Drinks that had already been ordered were canceled without comment. In addition, a very unpleasant smell outside, unfortunately an absolute mistake….

The two of us had dinner inside the inn, so I can't rate the beer garden. Food - in my opinion there was nothing to complain about about the food. I had the small veal schnitzel with fries (instead of the fried potatoes). The portion size was completely sufficient for me. The fries were crispy and well seasoned, the schnitzel was very thin the way I like it, and the breading was very tasty. I thought the price was reasonable for the quality on the plate. Service - the lady in service was very quick and, above all, very attentive, despite the restaurant being full. Big praise for the service. Friendly, unobtrusive and yet always attentive. You can't do it better! However, there were also two points to complain about, hence not 5, but "only" 4 stars from me. Anyone who expects a rustic “old” brewery restaurant will perhaps be surprised or disappointed by the modern ambience. But that's without judgment - after all, it's a matter of taste. What bothered me more about the large open (back) room was that the background noise was extremely high. You had to keep the volume quite high when entertaining, which meant that each table had to compete with the other tables in terms of volume. The biggest point of criticism, however, concerns the kitchen and its smells - which is probably due to the fact that the kitchen is quite open in the middle between the rooms and/or there is no reasonable exhaust ventilation? Either way, when I got home, my partner greeted me with a “yuck, you smell like a restaurant.” The entire laundry from the jacket, top, pants, even my undershirt smelled disgustingly of chip fat! But I have to say - that the food itself didn't smell or taste like old fat - it's just the typical smell from the kitchen, for example. missed due to a poor exhaust system. In short - the freshly worn clothes smelled so pungently of kitchen, grease and restaurant that I had to put them in a plastic bag and put them in the washing machine today. A shower was also due - because the hair and the rest smelled pretty bad and you definitely won't go to bed like that. It's a shame - I know this from the past, when people still smoked in the bars and had to throw their clothes in the laundry after a visit. No smoke this time - just chip fat all over your clothes and body. Unfortunately, this will (for now) prevent me from making further visits to the restaurant, at least inside - this doesn't affect the beer garden area. The owner/operator should do something here.

Einfach Bodenständig gut und bürgerlich trotzdem gehoben. Sehr gemütliche Abend oder Brunch immer möglich. Großes Lob für die freundliche Kellnerinnen.das Essen schmeckt wunderbar. Tolle Biergarten und sehr gemütlich.

Among various reviews the schnitzel/schnitzel of this place was given to be one of the best so let's try it! Informal, modern and welcoming place with some kitsch touches such as the moose horn-shaped chandeliers With light bulbs 💡. It looks like a modern mountain cabin. Nice waiter who spoke Italian well ✌️ Let's take a cheese specialty 🧀 (non-repeatable name 😅) a lot Good but heavy. Large cutlet to divide in two. It comes with lemon in a very practical net and a jam. At first I thought the jam on the cutlet was heresy. Try it guys. 🔝 With the large cutlet, two of us ate in peace and it was excellent 👍 we spent less than in more famous places in the centre! An amazing place that you must try! The schnitzel rocks. ✌️

Really very nice and modern brewery. The menu appears varied and modern. The implementation in the kitchen and the price-performance ratio are not right. French toast for 17 euros with a strand of currants and ice cream. I just expect a lot more. Unfortunately, my croque madame wasn't up to par either. Instead of a cappuccino, you can drink half a bathtub, but you have to do something with the coffee. Munich definitely has different standards. Great idea, unfortunately poor implementation. The waitress was really super open and friendly.

Wir waren mit 5 Personen zum Abendessen da. Geschmacklich war es sehr gut. Die Portionen haben aber leider nicht zum Preis gepasst. Die große Portion Schnitzel haben alle 3 Damen ohne Problem geschafft. Für 5 Personen ohne große Extras 290€ fanden wir zu teuer.

This place was nice with a brunch reservation. I shared two plates with my gf and met with 3 others. Good beer to complement. Finished with raspberry schnapps! Too bad the back patio wasn’t open for sitting and smoking as it was setup nicely for the winter discussions. Service was a little slow.

So these prices are high, but the food was very good, although not much. Only the price for the Kaiserschmarrn (from 2 people 12.90/person!) It is a normal large portion of Kaiserschmarrn for 26€!!!! Simply an outrage!

Very good German food here. The Schnitzel and Kaiserschmarrn are in particular standouts that I dare say would be top 3 places I’ve tried so far in Munich. Ambience inside is more of a modern Wirtshaus. Main downside are the prices, which are steep even by Munich standards but at least you get commensurate quality.

They might serve the best Wienerschnitzel (according to The Food Fetishist), but I’ll never know because I am never going back there. This restaurant was the biggest disappointment of the year for me. We started with aperitifs – Prosecco and Negroni. While it’s hard to mess up Prosecco, Negroni is a different story, and the bartender failed spectacularly. It lacked depth and flavor, as if one key ingredient (in this case, Campari) was missing. Yet, they kept serving it regardless—or perhaps the bartender simply forgot to add the Campari. For starters, we had steak tartare and the “Junge Ziege” salad. The salad was very good—well-seasoned, with perfectly grilled cheese. The composition could have used some beets, but still, I’d rate it a 7/10. The tartare wasn’t bad, but it didn’t hit the right notes for me—too much pickled onion, not enough meat flavor. I asked the waitress for salt and pepper, and I had to wait so long that I ended up getting them myself from the waiter’s station. For the mains, we ordered a quarter chicken and a large Wienerschnitzel. The chicken was juicy, with a good crust, and it came with a very tasty potato salad. It was also served with breaded liver—a creative presentation, though I personally prefer the traditional way (liver sautéed with onions). As for the Wiener Schnitzel, it was the worst one I’ve ever had—a complete disappointment. The meat was rubbery and full of sinew, the breading was greasy and undercooked, and the fried potatoes with onions were burnt. I was planning to try the Kaiserschmarrn for dessert, but after that schnitzel, all I could think about was going home. When we were done and asked for the bill, the waitress finally brought me the beer I had ordered to go with the schnitzel… What a disaster. I do not recommend this place, and I will personally avoid it at all costs. P.S. I would have added photos, but it was so terrible that I didn’t take any.

Sorry but not really good. Decent expensive Bavarian restaurant, food ok, but service not especially friendly for the level of gastronomy they try to play at.

We had breakfast there with children, the menu is not rich, what we ordered was delicious, the service is cold and slow, less suitable for children.

Really enjoyed breakfast here. The cappuccinos were really delicious and I had avocado and eggs. The eggs are cooked Japanese style for a longer time at low temperature which are maybe now my favourite. Definitely will come again

For me, the Max-Emmanuel Brewery is one of the most important institutions in the area of ​​young, upscale Bavarian/Alpine cuisine. The team is extremely committed and always in a good mood. This is noticeable when you take a quick look into the kitchen. The cooks often have a smile on their faces, as do the service staff. Why not? After all, the business appears to be solidly run from start to finish. You can tell from the tastefully designed interior to the truly fantastic food. A hot tip: the Tyrolean Krautfleckerl are an absolute gem and should be tried here. Gladly again and again! :)

It has everything a pub needs, just tastefully modern. How pleasantly nice here. Oh yes, the kitchen is completely transparent so you can see how and who cooks here. Instilling trust and sustainability is also taken into account. Friendly.

Food was tasty and beautifully presented. Still not outstanding compared to other brunch locations in Munich. I had the “Schliersee Benedict” and a tasting Obatzda dumpling (this and the bread that came with it were excellent). The Schliersee Benedict disappointed me a bit because I was expecting more in terms of taste. Very nice waitress. However, it is very loud in the restaurant and the bench is not really practical to sit on.

AMAZING FOOD! My favorite restaurant during my time in München. They serve authentic food in a modern restaurant. We had the grilled Camembert dip, spaetzle as a main course and kaiserschmarrn (scrambled pancake) and it was delicious!

We went to Max Emanuel Brewery for brunch. The ambience and furnishings of the restaurant are really nice, I would like to emphasize that upfront. Unfortunately, I was more than dissatisfied with my food. I have never been served such bad avocado bread and for just under €18. Unfortunately, my coffee was also really not tasty. All in all, unfortunately a disappointing brunch for me!

An outgrowth of system catering! For roast pork: dumplings for playing tennis, oily coleslaw, fatty meat, tasteless sauce Service: Food came after just 4 minutes, was probably under a warming lamp, and before the drinks. Price-performance is not right at all. After a good half hour we were processed like we were in a fast food restaurant and after an hour we had stomach problems (too much glutamate?!).

The food tasted good/very good to everyone. Priced okay for our habits. Service also really good and friendly. But when we pay we should pay more than twice the actual price. After checking on our part, this was done revised and apologized. However, a bad aftertaste remains.

Totally worth it! We went there cause they have the wild weeks. It's a little on the pricier side but if you don't mind that then it's probably a perfect choice. I tried the deer dish which was more than perfect. The meat just melts in your mouth. Our server was not so attentive though. We had a lot of glasses piling up which no one seemed to care about. But it wasn't really a big deal.

Nice atmosphere, but unfortunately that was it. Our waitress couldn't tell us exactly what kind of beer the Löwenbräu Urtyp was. We should google it. The pumpkin soup for €10 was good, but gone after 5 spoonfuls. The "big" Wiener Schnitzel was still small and it just didn't taste like anything. When I asked why neither the meat nor the potato salad/fried potatoes were seasoned, all I got was "yes, that's standard for us and so far no one has complained." In my opinion you can react to this differently. Unfortunately not recommended for the price.

Went here spontaneously for dinner and were thrilled with the inn. Starting with the very nice and quick service, through to the wonderful location and the food, which was excellent and you can hardly get better in Munich. We were completely thrilled and would love to come back!

I wanted an authentic schnitzel, but found many places used some form of dairy (butter, milk, or cream) which I cannot do. At Max Emanuel Brauerei, our waiter was so kind to describe their ingredients to me. I had their lunch menu Munich Schnitzel with shaved horseradish on the top. So yummy! Wife had roast pork with dumplings & potatoes--Delicious! We stumbled upon this restaurant and would urge you to do so as well. Way better than the Old Town crowded places and more relaxed.

It is a nice place, with very good service and delicious food. The roasted pork what we tasted was excellent and also the dumplings as well. The beers are tasty with a big variety. The only disappointment was the dessert. The apple crumble kind staff wasn’t tasty and sweet enough. One more thing the website has no English version, not even the menus, wich would be useful for a foreigner.

Excellent food and atmosphere on the first visit in a small group (at the front of the entrance). On the second visit with a group, unfortunately we didn't get the promised seat (instead it was divided into several tables at the back), nor was the service good. The food was good, but served impersonally for groups... Sorry, at least that didn't work for us. 🧐

Gentrified Bavarian Beer Pub in the center of the university quarter. The food is good but limited vegetarian options (salad and pasta with cheese), forget veganism. The service is kind and efficient.

Sat with a few friends in the really cozy beer garden, for me one of the most beautiful in the city! The food is always really good there! Whether it's the fried chicken salad, the half pork knuckle, the snack board or the burgers... everything is perfect! The staff very friendly and accommodating. Always worth a visit!

We sat on the terrace and had reserved a 2 hour window from 6pm to 8pm. It's very nice to sit in, everything inside has been lavishly renovated with wood. The food was delicious and the drinks were varied, but unfortunately extremely overpriced. Just the half for €6.10 is already steep. For the schnitzel for €35 to take away, the portion was very clear and, for example, there was no lemon.

Nice and quiet beer garden. However, 20.50 euros were charged for 1x Aperol Spritz and 1x white wine spritzer, mind you if it was self-service.

Very nice location in the middle of Munich. We were there for dinner and I had the crusty roast with two kinds of dumplings and dark beer sauce. Afterwards I had Kaiserschmarrn, both very tasty. The service was super friendly and quick and the atmosphere was really cozy. Prices are high but you also get something for your money. Gladly again!

Wir waren zu mehreren im Biergarten. Der Biergarten liegt schön und ruhig im Herzen Schwabings. Angenehme Atmosphäre. Bierpreise sind hoch, aber für die Lage noch ok. Nur die Preise und die Qualität der Speisen passt nach meiner Ansicht nicht mehr zusammen. Backhendl mit Kartoffel-/Vogerlsalat für 16,90€, der Kartoffelsalat aber wie aus der Metro Großpackung (einfach nur sauer) und die Backhendlstücke wohl tiefgefrorenes Fertigprodukt mit sehr hohen Panadeanteil. Nicht gut!

Very nice beer garden with a restaurant in Munich. Very friendly waitresses. A visit is definitely worth it.

Nice menu in the inn with a shady terrace in the middle of very tall chestnut trees. The beer garden fills the rest of the courtyard. The prices are a bit high for us country bumpkins. The roast pork looked very nice. The pepper dishes lack some garlic and herbs. Add a few drops of balsamic vinegar to the roast beef. The salads a little too little tomato and cucumber. The grilled goat cheese had a touch too little kick. Huge platter of ham. Big Obatzda. If you like Bavarian food reduced to the essentials, this is perfect for you. Honest German cuisine. Good home-baked bread and pretzels.

When will Maxvorstadt finally get the Max Emanuel brewery it deserves? After the renovation we had all hope and were only disappointed again. The food is still below average, the service is still sometimes rude and the price-performance ratio is not right. The beer garden needs more love and care. I also don't understand why the beer garden only opens at 5 p.m. when the weather is good. Something like that contradicts the unwritten rules of Munich's drinking culture.

Unfortunately I can't say much about the "beer garden" because it doesn't serve beer at 4 p.m. on a Friday when it's 30 degrees. Sorry but then don't call yourself a beer garden.

A nice trendy brewery. The service was friendly, nice, accommodating. The map is small but nice. We had a small and large Wienerschnitzel. The schnitzel was excellent. Unfortunately, the fried potatoes were cold and dripping with fat. The complaint wasn't a problem, the new fried potatoes arrived immediately in a small bowl. As an apology we each received a Mirabelle Mirabell. This one was excellent. At a price of 27€ and 32€ you can expect other fried potatoes, or even a potato salad. At least the veal schnitzel was worth the money.

Very pretty place since the re-opening. Food has a high quality but prices are clearly too expensive for what you get (20%+). Service is okay but could be much friendlier.

Moderne Einrichtung und sündhaft teure Preise. Wenn ein Viertel (jawohl 1/4) Huhn für 25,- verkauft wird, dann könnte man annehmen, dass es aus Gold ist. Weit gefehlt. Die Preise sind exorbitant hoch und dementsprechend war das Lokal an unserem Abend halbleer und auch das hat uns schon gewundert.

A restaurant with an attached beer garden. There is service in the restaurant including its outdoor area; as usual, you have to get your own food and drinks in the beer garden. The restaurant was renovated a few years ago and I like it much better since then. However, prices have risen significantly; a Wiener Schnitzel costs 30 euros. Everything just becomes more expensive. The outdoor area and beer garden are highly recommended, especially in summer, also because the beer garden is nice and shady.

Schnitzel and Kaiserschmarren were really very good and the conditions were extremely friendly.

The typical Munich Beer Garden atmosphere is nice. It’s self service - so not much to expect. The prices are relatively high, but it’s Maxvorstadt after all. They have vegan options, which is nice, and I went for the vegan main dish. But what stroke me was the price and the portion. It was basically a single middle sized potato filled with a bit of tomato and quinoa, like a teaspoon of each, topped with some vegan cream. That’s the main dish, at 16€ 🤯 That’s just ridiculous compared the to „Haxenburger“ or „Schnitzel mit Kartoffelsalat“ at similar prices. What to improve: just offer a full vegan dish, make it a real portion. Don’t assume a plant based diet needs less calories. A

Roast pork €21.50, beer €6.10, everyone has to decide for themselves...

We were there with 12 people for a project completion party and really enjoyed our stay in the serviced area. Eating and drinking is always a question of taste, I thought it was good, even if, to the chagrin of a colleague from the north, the pork knuckle was unfortunately only available in the beer garden area.

What a great place to enjoy some traditional Bavarian food in a trendy environment. Exceptional food by the way, served in a no traditional approach. Trendy decor inside makes this place extra special. Beer garden is small and hidden, but still worth a visit.

Great lunch! We were at Max E with 10 people and the food and service were great. The veal cream goulash is a poem and the subsequent Kaiserschmarrn was the crowning glory. The furnishings are very tasteful. Clear recommendation!

Personale molto attento. / Nice surprise for Munich, little gem in the countryside (=beer garden). The beer is great and there are lots of delicious dishes. Maybe a little expensive but we are almost in the center. The service is very attentive. Great.

Very nice atmosphere, good mix of modern and classic. We were here in a group and tried a few dishes, all of which were very tasty! The absolute highlight was definitely the roast pork! Nice beer garden on Nordendstr. Was there many years ago. In the meantime there was a general renovation of the restaurant and beer garden. But it's still very nice.

Ich war an einem Wochentag mit Kolleg:innen vor Ort. Wir erhielten einen schön Tisch auf dem Balkon im Freien. Später hatten wir Glück, dass dieser überdacht war, als es relativ spontan anfing ziemlich doll zu regnen. Ich entschied mich für den Salat mit Ziege, welcher aus zwei gebräunten Ziegenkäsetalern bestand sowie zwei halben Scheiben dunkles Brot. Zusätzlich gab es eine große in Portwein geschwenkte Feige. Weder die Kräutercroutons noch die Walnüsse, welcher auf der Karte standen, habe ich gesehen. Danach bestellten wir noch zweimal Kaiserschmarrn für alle. Dazu gab es Zwetschgenröster und Apfelmus, welcher sehr hell aussah. Leider waren bei uns sehr viele angebrannte Stücke in der Pfanne. Der eine mags, der andere nicht. Ich gehöre zu letzterer Kategorie. Zudem hätte der Schmarrn etwas fester sein dürfen. Die Bedienung war auf trapp und freundlich, wenn auch ziemlich gestresst.
