Really good food. No frozen food, but freshly prepared. The Wiener Schnitzel was excellent, and the dessert (poppy seed noodles) was also of outstanding quality. The service was friendly too. We'll be back! 😃

Max Emanuel Brewery is one of those places that never disappoints. It's one of my favorite pubs in the city. You can really feel the love and attention to detail in the kitchen. The roast pork is perhaps the best around. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. And the Kaiserschmarren (shredded pancake) is simply sensational. Warm, fluffy, exactly as it should be. All in all, I simply love it there. It's a place where you can arrive, relax, and enjoy a really good meal.

Actually a pretty restaurant with good quality food. Nevertheless, rather disappointing. It starts with the fact that, despite a large wine list, only two red wines are offered by the glass. So you either have to order a bottle or pay €15.70 for a glass of (supposedly) anything but full-bodied Viennese Trilogy red wine. For a wine that costs €16 per bottle in retail. Ridiculous. The main course, the venison ragout, tasted good, but a few isolated pieces of meat were floating in the ample sauce, which, if weighed together, would have maybe come to 100g. For €33, a complete rip-off. Thus, the impression remains that a greedy management, through a misguided pricing policy and short-sighted guidelines, has unfortunately squandered the potential that the restaurant and the kitchen actually possess.

The four of us dined at the Max Emanuel Brewery in the evening. For starters, we had bread with spread and the Vulcano ham, which was very tasty. Unfortunately, the main courses were only lukewarm, and two of the dishes (venison goulash) only had four small pieces of meat on each plate. This is absolutely unacceptable for the price of €33. The food tasted impeccable, but these are two major points of criticism that we voiced at the end. While our concerns were acknowledged, we received no compensation whatsoever, such as a complimentary dessert or a round of drinks. The price-performance ratio is simply unacceptable, and we will not be returning.

Harmonious and peaceful atmosphere, excellent food, one of the best brunches I've ever had! Wide selection, vegetarian and vegan dishes, or the option to make modifications to make them vegan. Fragrant bread, fresh jams, tasty main courses, and a top-notch Kaiserschmarrn! Thanks to Tobi, who served us with such kindness and friendliness; it was a truly pleasant experience.

We visited Max Emanuel twice in a very short space of time and were extremely satisfied each time. The service was very friendly, attentive, and prompt. The food was always excellent: Kösespätzle, duck, roast pork, and mushrooms – absolutely delicious! You can easily reserve online. Overall, a fantastic experience that we can definitely recommend. We'll definitely be back!

Very chic restaurant, attentive service. I wasn't so impressed with the Kasspatzn (cheese spaetzle) though; the onions could have been a bit more colorful. I'd happily come back anyway :) The schnitzel was really good.

The prices are certainly a bit higher, but they're reasonable for the quality. I've eaten more for poorer quality in Munich and elsewhere. I once had the pleasure of having a Wiener Schnitzel from a Michelin-starred restaurant. This restaurant is the only one that was equally excellent. We were equally enthusiastic about the duck and the Kaiserschmarrn. The staff was also attentive, even though the place was full. I don't understand some of the criticism. For example, that quality simply takes time to prepare. Excellent place!

Unfortunately, we find the value for money here completely inadequate. For these prices (cheese spaetzle for €22 including salad) and Wiener schnitzel (€36), we would have expected exceptionally good food. The cheese spaetzle had far too much cream, and the schnitzel was okay but nothing special, and also too small for the price. The side salad was okay, but it lacked a bit of cabbage or carrot. The service was very friendly. Nevertheless, we won't be going back.

This restaurant has one of the best roast pork I've ever eaten—as an Upper Bavarian. The service is excellent! And I always enjoy going there.

Pros - The dumplings are very tasty - The gravy is delicious Cons - The Kaiserschmarrn wasn't as crispy on the surface. It was very thick. There wasn't enough powdered sugar. - The coleslaw was very oily.

So the food was good and the service simply charming but 27,80€ (!!) for a Kaiserschmarrn, are you still quite crispy 🤣

A very nice, quiet outdoor dining area in the city center. That's quite rare! The renovation has done MaxE a world of good, even if it no longer seems so typical. The cuisine still has potential to gain its own character for a traditional Bavarian inn.

The best Viennese veal schnitzel I've ever eaten, WOW. The restaurant is a dream, not exactly cheap, but absolutely worth it. The staff are fully committed and everyone is very friendly. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, everything was top-notch. I felt completely at home and can only recommend it!

A wonderful self-service beer garden with a waiter service area right next door, featuring a great menu and a very knowledgeable drinks list. The prices are absolutely reasonable. The food is excellent. We went there twice on Mondays with a few friends. The friendly, competent service from Ruben and the pleasant, always up-to-date Amelie is particularly enjoyable and makes you feel very welcome. Highly recommended!

The Obazda (pretzel) was plentiful and delicious, easily enough for four pretzels. The atmosphere was great, too. But I think it's way too expensive for a beer garden. In Munich, you can sometimes get a light beer for €5 at a pub, and for €5.80 at a beer garden. You can also get a schnitzel or a fried schnitzel in a brioche for €16.

It is a fancy bavarian restaurant with good food and nice service

They've lost touch with reality here. €15.50 for a schnitzel roll with nothing on it but schnitzel and iceberg lettuce. With the beer garden half full, I had dishwasher-hot glasses all evening. My last half-pint was scalding hot. When I asked if they couldn't serve warm beer, I was recommended an iced pitcher, which costs an additional 50 cents. That's over €6 to get a drinkable beer. Disaster

This is what a pub should be like. It's a bit more upscale, with super friendly staff and fantastic food. Modern decor, a lovely terrace with a beer garden behind it – highly recommended. We'll definitely be back on our next visit to Munich!

I let myself be persuaded to visit (restaurants aren't really my thing) and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is modern and tastefully decorated, the food is excellent, and our waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back :)

We were there for our department's summer party. The terrace was reserved for us. The two (?) women who had to put up with us were quick to respond, and requests (like extra ice cubes in the bucket) or new drinks were promptly fulfilled. The food (fried chicken, Kasspatzn, roast pork (that crust!!!), and dumpling variations) took up a lot of space, but it was more than enough for our table of eight people. Otherwise, we asked the others at the neighboring tables for more. And it was absolutely delicious! The appetizer and dessert couldn't quite keep up. Of course, the noise from the beer garden itself reached us at a decent volume, but we probably weren't much quieter either. I can't comment on the price, since the boss invited us.

Absolutely fabulous! A warm welcome, excellent coordination. The table reservation went flawlessly. The service is fast, incredibly friendly, and accommodating; the server covered more ground in an hour than I did in a day and then arrived at the table beaming. The meal was a warm embrace of Bavarian cuisine. Generous portions, tasted like grandma's food, and evoked the same feeling. Fantastic!

There's a great beer garden with a self-service bar and food stand, perfect for relaxing after a long day! 🌳🍺 You can also sit and eat inside the inn or on the terrace. The service is very friendly and the food is excellent. If you're feeling a little peckish, we recommend the homemade Obazda (traditional German sausage) with homemade sourdough bread! 🤤 We'll definitely be back!

Wonderful atmosphere, super friendly staff, great food, cozy!

We just wanted to check if the garden area was suitable before deciding to sit down. However, the lady at the entrance insisted on setting the table and responded quite rudely, almost shutting me down with anger when I tried to ask to take a quick look. If you're paying €30 for a dessert, I think a more respectful attitude would be expected. But others were quite nice, thank you except her.

The food was good and tasty. The service was very distant and cool, which I find inappropriate for a Bavarian pub/beer garden. Otherwise, everything was okay.

A very modern, stylish restaurant with a lovely ambiance. Very friendly and prompt service. The menu isn't extensive, but the selection is still good. Large portions, with the Kaiserschmarren being a highlight. A great drinks menu and excellent aperitifs (Spritz) that go beyond the classic Aperol. A very nice outdoor seating area.

Let yourself be enchanted by a taste experience – here, authenticity meets German cuisine. The Kaiserschmarrn was undoubtedly the best we've ever enjoyed in Munich, and the warm, attentive service left nothing to be desired. We felt completely at home.

Visiting as tourist from America The service was incredible, was helped by someone that spoke English and was very polite. The food is incredible, started with a chanterelles and burrata dish that was great, paired with obatzda. Both dishes were unique and flavorful. We also got the Wiener schnitzel and chicken schnitzel, so flavorful and tender and came with great sides. Ended with the kaischerschmarn, make sure you order before you end dinner as it takes 20-30 min to prepare Highly recommend this place

Nice little inner-city beer garden

A regular beer garden in the middle of Schwabing is great. The food selection is modest and should be expanded to include classics.

We rented this beer garden for an event (180 people). The food in a pleasant setting was outstanding, the wine selection was excellent, and the staff was very accommodating and always on time. Highly recommended!

I can only recommend this restaurant. As a native Bavarian, I really enjoyed my visit. Great taste, top quality, and super friendly and attentive service. We now live in the greater Cologne area, and I think the value for money at Max Emanuel is absolutely reasonable for Munich. The pictures speak for themselves. We also had Kaasspatzen (cheese spaetzle) with a large salad to go, which is also highly recommended. I'd definitely go back!

The food in the beer garden was too expensive for the portion size (Munich is all well and good) and unfortunately a bit cold. The instructions at the bar were excellent. The ambiance is very pleasant under the trees.

Good local restaurant, the interior is very beautiful and the outdoor terrace is very clean. You can eat in the restaurant or in the Biergaten area where you serve yourself. The service is very good and fast. The food is good but nothing extraordinary. The prices are a bit high.

I had the Schnitzel (for 36€) and was disappointed. Schnittzel was quite basic and also small for that price. Roasted potatos were these type you would get at your grandmas on the stepmother side...the one that doesn't love you. The were like from yesterday or couple days ago. Cranberry sause watery. All together- not worth it to go there for Schitzel. Service was quite forgetful. The side salads for my friends came when they were almost finished. Atmothphere and interior design very nice though.

The Wirtshaus Max Emanuel is a rather upscale restaurant with a chic flair. The food was truly delicious. I had a Wiener Schnitzel with fried potatoes. The schnitzel was excellent, but the potatoes could have used a bit more salt. The service was very friendly and attentive; there's nothing to complain about. However, we had to wait a full 50 minutes for our food, even though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. That was definitely too long. Furthermore, the interior smelled strongly of grease, which somewhat spoiled the otherwise pleasant impression.

Serving typical Bavarian fare and beer in a nice environment -- the food is excellent for this category. Difficult to get outside garden tables without reservations when weather is nice.

Extremely disappointing experience. The staff was notably rude and unaccommodating, especially the waiter, who was blatantly impolite. The food was overpriced and lacked quality—definitely not worth the cost. We were a group of 20 and encountered zero flexibility or effort to accommodate us. This place is not worth your time or money. Strongly recommend avoiding it.

Loved the ambiance and the drink here. I would highly recommend the Emanuel Sbagliato. Was delish. didn't have any food there as met some friends for a quick drink but the restaurant was upscale and decorated with a nice warm finesse.

We had an absolutely fantastic evening at this restaurant – simply perfect from start to finish! We were there with a large group of ten people, the restaurant was packed to capacity, and yet everything ran like clockwork. A huge compliment to our wonderful waitress, Fahima! She was absolutely amazing – super attentive, friendly, and extremely professional. Despite the hustle and bustle, she always kept an eye on things, refilled drinks, cleared plates, and even made sure everyone got their food at the same time – which is certainly not a given with such a large group. You could really feel how much passion and dedication she puts into it. The food was also a real highlight: The starters included Obatzda (traditional Austrian sausage) and tartar – both wonderfully seasoned. This was followed by juicy schnitzel and perfectly cooked asparagus, and to finish, a heavenly Kaiserschmarrn (sweet pancake with pancakes), which you couldn't wish for better. Every course was a delight, the quality of the ingredients was top-notch, and everything was fresh and lovingly prepared. The combination of great service, delicious food, and a cozy atmosphere truly made our evening special. We'll definitely be back—and hope we'll be lucky enough to be looked after by Fahima again. No, I can't recommend it anymore. The Max-Emanuel was a venerable institution, but the Schotenhamel family unfortunately bulldozed it. The food is good, and the wait time was okay. However, it seems like the waiters there are forced to do forced labor, given how unhappy they are. The good times are unfortunately over here.

We always enjoy going to Max Emanuel. We recently went there with a large group (33 people, pre-booked). The food is always excellent, the service friendly and attentive. The ambiance is both traditional and modern. We'd be happy to go back anytime.

Four of us went to dinner in the catered area. Service and ambiance were excellent. Prices were normal for a catered restaurant in Munich. Portions were somewhat small. The taste was average, nothing special, but still good.

It's a shame that the "tavern of the present" is declining again. I miss the vegetarian schnitzel and the veggie currywurst in the beer garden, and the small Kaiserschmarrn is no longer offered. The potato salad probably comes out of the packaging (at least there are empty buckets lying around)… but it is very expensive

Very nice atmosphere especially if you sit outside. Unfortunately we had to wait over an hour for our food. The waiter was absolutely not friendly and the response to questions was rude. The crusty roast was generally good but unfortunately oversalted. There are definitely better places in Munich for Bavarian food.

Das Wienerschnitzel ist gut, aber nicht außergewöhnlich. Als Nachtisch haben wir uns drei Portionen Kaiserschmarrn geteilt, die in einer Pfanne kamen und nur von zweimal Zwetschgen und Apfelmus begleitet wurden. Die Qualität des Kaiserschmarrn war aber gut. Die Rosinen in Rum eingelegt, das ganze mit Mandelsplittern verfeinert. Der Teig war noch fluffig und schön kandidiert. Enttäuschend war der blaue Zweigelt. Auch bei einem offenen Wagen dürfte man einer etwas bessere Qualität erwarten. Die Bedienung ist freundlich und in aller Regel flink.
