Bratwurstherzl in München

We sat on the terrace and just had a drink. Tables were very close together. Staff a bit inattentive. To have a drink it's ok 🐰.

Restaurant to avoid. As a group with a reservation, we received a most unpleasant welcome and service. Really unfriendly waiter. Very average menus. Go your way. The rating of 1 concerns the decor and the location, for the rest 0.

I would honestly not return. We went here simply because we were hungry, our feet hurt, and we were jetlagged and this place had open seats. We were originally going to go to the restaurant next to it, but a group came up and took our table. The food was okay, the service was okay, and the atmosphere was okay. The beer was great, but it's hard to screw up something that comes from a spout. Honestly a skip, especially when there are much better authentic German cuisine spots all around Munich.

In spite of the BAD attitude we received from the server, the food was quite good, though a bit pricey. When we asked if we could sit at a table we were met with a look of sufficiency, that remained throughout the whole dinner (when ordering, when receiving our plates, when said plates were recollected). I would NOT advise tourists to come here, there is an obvious difference in the treatment offered, between locals and people that are not German.

After 15 minutes of being ignored, I gave the waiter a hand signal. I wanted to order the white sausages. The waiter shakes his head eagerly and immediately turns away. OK. Well then, thank you very much and goodbye.

The best restaurant in Munich in a very central area and yet not at all touristy. Family atmosphere, with mostly local people where you can eat very well with honest prices despite the proximity to the Viktualienmarkt and Marienplatz. Excellent draft beer. The menu includes a choice of a few fixed dishes with a choice in the daily menu handwritten exclusively in German but the waiters are always ready to help with translation. In short, whatever you are looking for to eat, you can find it here and it is carefully prepared on the spot.

It seemed kind of welcoming from the outside, so we took a seat in the beer garden. The first smoking waiter ignored us at first. The other smoking waitress then snapped at us because we supposedly put the chair and stroller in the way. Because, as we all know, the sound makes the music, we left without having achieved anything.

Very bad experience, the staff did not serve us no matter how much they saw us sitting, they ignored us because there were people who told them to serve us, they did not want to, they have a racist tone in this place, do not visit this place, do not have a bad time.

I put only one star because there are no 0 stars. The service was embarrassing. The food was cold and they did not have menu items available. I had to go inside to pay for dinner, because the waiter was at the bar having a beer 🍺. I told him in English, since the Spaniard didn't know, the bill, he first asked me for the tip and I told him 10 cents more than the bill to round up the payment, he said in German and I answered him in German and he turned red. What a shame.

The employee was very rude. When we called him to place an order he snapped at us. When he brought our order, he literally threw it at us. Also, the menu said “lemonade,” so I ordered a lemonade – but instead I got a carbonated lemonade.

It was my first time there, but I now know that I didn't miss anything. The ambience is great, it's also nice to sit outside. The service was catastrophic - not my table, you have to order from a colleague. That doesn't work at all! Then we waited forever until we were served. The bratwursts are average at best, I expect a little more from a bratwurst restaurant. Well, unfortunately that won't have any influence given the situation

Not exactly tourist friendly maybe it’s good with local though, idk. I hardly ever write a comment but the service here is kinda weird so just to let asian tourists know. The food was not bad ,I mean German food is salty for me but it is what it is. But the service, oh dear, the waiter who let me wait 30 mins for order and another 30 mins for the bill had the audacity to ask for a tip? And then lecturing me “you are in Germany, you must tip”? I’m more than happy to tip good service, you couldnt even give standard service, if you were to do that in where I’m living (Japan) you should feel lucky that you didn’t get a complain.

My wife and I wanted a drink there. Our order was taken promptly, but the previous person's glasses hadn't been cleared. After a quarter of an hour, I noticed our waiter asking the next table what they had ordered, so I took their order a second time. After a total of 20 minutes without drinks (others who arrived later had already had something to eat; ours hadn't even had their previous person's glasses cleared), I asked the waiter, "You forgot about us, didn't you?" He replied, "Yes, and now you'll be waiting even longer, and I think you'll be much more comfortable somewhere else." Since I didn't want to get into a discussion, we left without comment. If you like being treated like dirt, then this is definitely the place for you.

The reviews are far too negative. Just because the Bratwurstherzl manages to still be authentic in the middle of the city center. And the bratwursts are better, too.

I took the sour soup with onions and sausages. I liked it a lot, BUT my friends took a vegetarian dish and it was not that good. They were not satisfied. The service was bad, the people were rushing every time putting us pressure on the order AND if you're going in a group you have to know that they do not accept paying separately. Over all, the environment was a typical bavarian resto-bar. It was nice the atmosphere.

Apple strudel is highly recommended, as is the pork schnitzel. Two things from the grill were okay, but unfortunately they were served cold and were a bit dry.

Pretty restaurant on the Viktualienmarkt. Did you come here for the sour tips? It was good, but more vinegar, a bit of carrots and parsley would have brought the sausage closer to the original. Service was top and the adjoining room was charming.

Il cameriere ha preteso la mancia, insistendo. Dal momento che ero lì per lavoro e non potevo ho dovuto rifiutare. A quel punto si è indispettito poi mi ha addebitato arbitrariamente 2 euro con una transazione aggiuntiva sulla carta. Alla mia protesta si è scusato dicendo che aveva letto male e pensava che il conto fosse diverso. È un comportamento inaccettabile.

The waiter demanded a tip. Since I was there for work and couldn't I had to refuse. At that point he got annoyed and then arbitrarily charged me 2 euros with an additional transaction. When I protested he apologized saying that he had misread and thought the bill was different. This is unacceptable behavior.

Bratwurst and meat only tasted like burnt fat.

Unfortunately everything tasted a bit like the day before. Quite dry and the sauce was out of the packet.

Very nice room but different treatment for tourists. The food is good, however the service is deplorable, I give 1 because I can't give 0 We had a server with no smile, we felt like we were bothering him. When paying he told us that we owe him a tip because the service is not included in the price, although this is the case when we ask about German law. I don't mind leaving a tip if the service and the person are pleasant, but there is no service and what's more it's forcing to get a tip. Very sincerely do not go to this restaurant to get a good welcome

There are two rooms, the food was good, normal price, the room where we ate smelled bad (not enough to not recommend it)

Das Bratwurstherzl ist bei unseren München - Reisen immer seit Jahren ein Muss !!! Anfang Februar waren wir am späten Samstag Nachmittag zum Essen dort. Platz würde uns durch den Kellner sofort angeboten. Die bestellten Gerichte sind in angemessener Zeit und gut angerichtet serviert worden. Leider entsprach ein Gericht nicht unseren Vorstellungen ( Fleisch nicht durch, flaxig, lauwarm ). Da wir sonst immer zu 100 % zufrieden waren, sahen wir von offensiver Kritik ab, ließen das Gericht aber stehen. Dann kam es zu einer sehr positiven Überraschung !! Der sehr freundliche Kellner entschuldigte sich und nahm das komplette Gericht selbständig aus der Rechnung. Wir empfanden das als sehr aufmerksam und nicht als selbstverständlich!! Natürlich werden wir auch beim nächsten Mal in München ins Bratwurstherzl gehen !!

Eating caused diarrhea. Service was actually very friendly until he complained about the tip. You should be happy to get some and not ask for “more”. Tip: Talk to your boss and ask for a better salary. Ambience was okay, it smells like a grille.

It makes a huge difference in service whether you are seen as a local (Munich) or as a tourist. At Touri's you don't do any big faxes, there are always new ones.

Traditional German Brauhaus, delicious food good service excellent beer. I have deducted 1/2 mark as some of the dishes are a little on the small side in particular the 6 Bratwurst with potato salad but that said we visited a second time. The roast pork is stunning and the Goulasch with Spätzle is also delicious. Attentive and friendly staff but not overbearing.

We just wanted each 2 Knödel with gravy and red cabbage. We do this quite often, as we're not so keen on the meat. So we got our Knödel, two of them HARD on the outside..meaning not fresh! The gravy tasted like fresh out of the packet...The red cabbage sour ...where is the love..?? ....all together for......27€....

Excellent Bavarian place, i always visit it when i'm in Munich. Very authentic, and the beer is wonderful.

We liked it very much. Its famous sausage, beer and ambiance were wonderful, I felt like I was in a place in the middle ages.

We were there in August and are still visibly shocked by this “service”. First we were ignored for a good half hour, then the menu was thrown on the table. No hello, no sign that we are welcome. At some point we had drinks in front of us and were even allowed to order food. The hot plates were handed to us by the waiter as we passed. The waiter didn't even look at us, let alone talk. We also ordered a pretzel that we never received. When we asked, we were grumpily thrown a pretzel onto the table, which we have never eaten anywhere else. It probably lasted for a few days and was so hard that you could hardly chew it. Then we were brought another pretzel that was hardly better. There was hardly any warmth, apologies or questions from the waiter as to whether we needed anything else. At the end the cheeky waiter asked for a tip, which we didn't want to give him. For what? Actually, this person should be fired. We certainly won't come back again and can't recommend the atmosphere.

Me and my friend were looking for somewhere to eat, and came across this place by accident. And what a brilliant accident it was!! The waiter, was super polite, and very helpful. The beers were delicious 😋. The food was great! The apple strudel was yummy!! The atmosphere was authentic Couldn't fault the service! Thankyou.

Guten tag my Germans. Very fast service, really tasty sausage. Good beer, kind waiter. Very cute heart shapped plate for the sausages. Only minus its the size of the meal. For this price in Munich you can get a looot bigger plate that this, so a bit pricy.

Liver spaetzle soup was unfortunately very bad. Brown water with some still dry “liver spaetzle” is just annoying. Atmosphere was good service too. Soup more than disappointing.

We believe the best times are over! Reservations by phone don't work at all. It is picked up and immediately hung up again. The service leaves a lot to be desired. We had to wait 15 minutes for our second beer. From 6:30 p.m. there were no more pretzels and the light from the wooden barrel is only available on Saturday. In addition, the Nuremberg grilled sausages were no longer what they once were. They won't see us again.

We go to Bratwurst herzel at least once every year - unfortunately we were very disappointed today. The grilled sausages were lukewarm and the white sausage was watery and tasteless. Pretzels were good and so was the sauerkraut. There used to be hardly any space, but today it was half empty. A sign? We definitely won't go there anymore!

Not much waiter but is okay as the waiter will attend to you when he free. Anyway the food is amazing, feels local the beer from cask is a must try sausage is good too!

That was average at best. If a person from Nuremberg who cooks himself orders a Schäuferle in Munich, then he knows what's going on. The dumpling tasted very well seasoned and didn't seem to have seen any salt water. He even seemed almost warmed up to me again. The meat was also just average. The positive thing is that the prices are almost cheap for Munich.

The service is the worst. At first, the waiter kindly guided me and recommended menus, and as I passed by I asked if the food was delicious. Even though I used a credit card to pay, he asked me if I wanted to tip and said that I usually tip 10%. When I told him I wouldn't pay, he shook his head and paid for me, and then threw my card to the side with a loud noise on the counter..^^ The first card I used to pay with couldn't be paid due to an error, so I gave him another card, and he threw the second card and the payment receipt as well. Yes..? Then, I was embarrassed because he didn't even say goodbye and went into the kitchen without saying anything. I know that tipping is not required in Germany, but with just one tip, the attitude completely changes from before the payment and it is very rude. It's ridiculous that I was so kind at first because I was trying to get everything;; Because of this person, my impression of Germany got worse. I'm really pissed I am posting this review in the hope that Koreans will not have the same experience as me. It's completely unfavorable.
