The food is not bad, price/performance is absolutely ok. The selection of dishes here is also comparatively diverse. All in all a reasonable restaurant.

Unfortunately no star. After 45 minutes the order was taken, after another half hour the drink came and the food we ordered didn't come at all. As a diabetic who has to inject insulin before a meal, absolutely dangerous! If it hadn't been the annual general meeting, I would have left the restaurant immediately. This has happened to me there twice. I cannot accept or accept an apology.

Four of us were here for the first time on a Sunday afternoon. At first we were greeted in a friendly manner, apart from a waitress who spoke to us in a very unfriendly way, almost shouting at us that we had taken the wrong passage, even though the other waiter actually showed us this route next to the counter. Surprisingly, we initially received a main dish for one person and the remaining 3 dishes after about 15-20 minutes. And that even though there weren't many guests there. Drinks were brought very quickly. The food, carp, actually tasted very good. The wheat beer on tap and Capuchino are equally delicious. Unfortunately, some of the kitchen exhaust air apparently comes directly into the guest room, so the clothes smell strongly of fryer grease. We won't want to come again.

Schlemmerblock is not accepted due to a change of tenant... €3.90 for a small side salad and soft carp fins/breading won't keep me coming back.

We have never experienced anything like this! We made a reservation a week in advance (and also left a phone number). When we were there today, we were taken into a back room so that none of the other guests would notice that they couldn't accept us because there was suddenly so much going on and everything was "empty". We drove there for 45 minutes to do this, although they could have easily told us this by phone!! But looking at the output from the kitchen, the hunger was gone anyway with all the dirty plates!

Unfortunately, the gourmet block was not recognized. The service was rather unfriendly. The food was good. Dessert was no longer possible at 8:30 p.m. All in all, it wasn't a comfortable evening considering the conditions of the restaurant. At 2:30 p.m. we were asked to pay. For me this is a clear dismissal! I won't be coming back any time soon.

We visited today because we had the voucher book where the second dish was free. The waitress is too infrequent to ask if something is needed. We were thirsty and ignored several times. Payment was possible by card, but the voucher book was refused. With the justification that they no longer participate. That was the last time we were here.

We came with the gourmet block. After we ordered the drinks and they were brought straight away, we wanted to order food and showed our gourmet block. We were informed that this would no longer be accepted because there had been a change of tenant. Redemption was also refused at the neighboring table. The food was average, the missing salad was only brought when asked, although this was pointed out when the order was handed out, which was directly behind us. The new tenant benefits from the entry in the Schlemmerblock without having to provide anything in return. Also a way to scare away customers. In any case, we'll never come back.

Thought I was an ID forger, which I found very offensive. She also reacted really unpleasantly to my €100 note, which was also very questionable. And when I asked about the Kärwa, she rolled her eyes and answered very aggressively, which was also very confusing. But the very delicious beer saved the shop again, which is why I would still recommend the shop. You have to know.

We ended up here through the voucher book - but it is no longer accepted as the restaurant is under new management. The food was great and the service was really attentive and friendly. The prices are reasonable and the portions are filling. Interesting menu, e.g. delicious bratwurst shish kebab. We are happy to have ended up here (would never have found our way here without the Schlemmerblock) and will definitely come back ☺️

Unfortunately, we found out on site that the restaurant no longer accepts the Schlemmerblock. This information was not available anywhere in advance, which was extremely annoying as we had to travel all the way to eat there. We then literally found ourselves in front of closed doors because we went to eat somewhere else under these circumstances. It's really disappointing that the restaurant doesn't clearly communicate such changes. Unfortunately we cannot recommend it and we will choose other options in the future….

There was also no question as to whether everything was OK. So service was sparse or non-existent. And there wasn't much going on. On a Sunday there were only 6-7 tables occupied (with 2-3 people and our table for 4). As a tip: If someone still owns the Schlemmerblock 23/24 with this restaurant, the voucher will not be accepted due to the change of tenant. It's a shame that everything has slowed down so much.

We used to go to the old forester's lodge very often, and I even spent lunch there on my civil wedding anniversary with my closest family circle. On July 16th I then reserved a table for two people in the courtyard for Saturday (my birthday) using the answering machine. When I called today to ask about the reservation because my appointment had not yet been confirmed, the Eastern European employee simply said bluntly, "We don't even make reservations in the courtyard" and that the inside is reserved for me and if I'm lucky, I'm allowed outside sit. I wanted to say that I would think about it again, but the lady just hung up without saying goodbye. With behavior like that, I would rather get rid of my money somewhere else. Apparently there is no need to be friendly anymore.

NO FOOD BLOCK We came for dinner on a Saturday lunchtime without making a reservation. Before we ordered we were told straight away that gourmet blocks were no longer possible. The service was very attentive and quick. We ordered 3 different dishes, all of which were average but nothing special. I feel like it's been fried a lot. There were 4 different vegetarian dishes, including 2 vegan ones. We paid around €20 per person for a drink and main course.

Was there with the family, and to put it briefly: food that didn't taste good, with extra long waiting times, you would have starved to death three times. The meat was tough and we didn't even want to give the rest of the schnitzel to our dog at home. At the same time, the staff seemed so unhappy about working here, I can hardly imagine what the climate is like behind the scenes. Definitely won't be a second time.

So if I could, I wouldn't want to give it a star. Very rude staff. First you wait forever for your food and then it is served cold. Not a second time. And let's not even talk about all the flies in there.

We paid €44.99 for this gourmet block, which includes a voucher for a main course in the Zum alten Forsthaus restaurant. The validity is until December 1st, 2024. The inn did not accept the voucher for your hotel. I just call something like that fraud.

A nice great surprise on a short bike tour. Not only the beer garden is lovely but also the interior is cosy and and nice. Very attentive staff, nice vegetarian options and tasty desserts. They have a really nice cauliflower schnitzel which I highly recommend.

We used to be guests at the Altes Forsthaus often and with pleasure, even with friends and family. Our last visit under new management was all the more disappointing. I also contacted H. Jeffrey Brown directly by email and described our impressions, but so far I haven't received any response, hence this approach. This is how our visit went: The Schlemmerblock voucher was not accepted, the service staff pointed out that this was also on the Internet. Immediately checked and pointed out that there was nothing there - no, it was there. There is still no clue there! We stayed anyway because we were looking forward to delicious food. My meal, salmon with asparagus, was so-so, asparagus was too cooked and fibrous. My husband's schnitzel was very large, but consisted mostly of breading, which was also very dark. The schnitzel was correspondingly dry, although the breading tasted unpleasantly greasy. When paying, my husband told the waitress this, but she just "laughed at him". We've never had so much ignorance and stupidity. The old forester's house will never see us again. Note to H. Brown: it's a real treat when the name Jessica Brown appears in the new reviews. Who can that be, wife, mother, sister or other relative? Word of mouth is much more effective.

Unfortunately very disappointed without a happy ending. We waited forever for the food. Then 2 of the 4 dishes came. 2 dishes were finished, even though we ate slowly, and then the 2 more came. If it had at least been tasty, it would still be acceptable. Unfortunately, the food was so incredibly bad that I can't say I've ever had such a bad meal. And my motivation to evaluate came at home when all 4 people had to run to the toilet. Therefore unfortunately 0 stars (unfortunately also for the service).

Bitte so beibehalten...hab ganz vergessen mich dafür nochmal extra zu bedanken... ...nun zum Essen... wir hatten Karpfen... super 😋 lecker...oh, was meine Mama und Tochter hatten fällt mir gerade nicht ein, doch die Reaktion... wollen wir baldmöglichst doch unseren Besuch hier im Zollhaus wiederholen, zum plauschen und 😋 leckeren Speisen... Tipp... reservieren ist empfehlenswert Nochmals wirklichen Dank an das ganze Team... 🫂

Weihnachten alles sehr voll, man musste anstehen um rein zu kommen. Ohne Reservierung hat man kein Chance aber an den Feiertagen ist das ja normal. Personal aber trotz mega Stress freundlich. Essen war auch sehr gut.
