We were actually very satisfied with our stop for soup and a drink. The service was quick and good. The soup was tasty, but we only noticed it later on the receipt: a wheat cola cost €5.90. The 0.5-liter wheat beer cost €4.90, and the 0.5-liter wheat cola was €1 extra. Unfortunately, we found this excessive. Can someone explain it?

We came here without a reservation and were lucky to get a table for four. The service was friendly and very attentive. The food was served at the same time, even though all four of us ordered different dishes. Everyone enjoyed it immensely, and we were more than satisfied. We were able to enjoy the fantastic view alongside the delicious food. We would definitely make a reservation next time, as it got very busy during lunch.

Restaurant review: I've been back 3 years later and everything is still as good as it gets! The steak was huge and perfectly cooked, and the fried potatoes are also great! Now with a photo! Lovely location, ordered medium rump steak, got an XL medium rump steak. The fried potatoes were crispy and hot, and the server was friendly and relaxed. Unfortunately, there's no photo because I was hungry. Highly recommended.

Great location...very attentive and friendly. The food is down-to-earth and, given the limited seating, simple and rustic...although it can happen that the loins are oversalted and the mushrooms come from a can...certainly a slip-up, but the friendliness compensates for that.

The food is beautifully presented, of high quality, and extremely delicious, whether it's char, knuckle of pork, roast pork with crackling, salad, Kaiserschmarrn, or anything else. The decor and furnishings are harmonious and beautiful, with love in every detail, and you immediately feel welcome. The service at this family-run business is very friendly and attentive. We've eaten at the "Zipfhäuserl" six times, and every time it's been excellent. The location is also wonderful, with a fantastic view of the Watzmann mountain panorama, especially from the beer garden. The small corner shop, which is part of the business, perfectly rounds off the charming ambiance. Overall, highly recommended 👍!

We're on a two-week vacation at Lake Chiemsee and explored the surrounding area. After nine days, we arrived in Ramsau and discovered this beautiful mountain inn. It's located opposite the Schärtenspitze and is called Berggasthaus Zipfhäusl. The view from the terrace is amazing, the staff very friendly. We (two adults, one child, and a dog) were immediately assigned a seat on the terrace with a panoramic view. After a five-minute wait, we were able to place our order. The drinks were delivered promptly, the food was served just 15 minutes later! We have to say the food was outstanding, we've never had such delicious food in all our vacations! We ordered shank of pork with sauerkraut dumplings and gravy, pork medallion with spaetzle, and 1/2 chicken with fries, along with 2 Almdudler (almond-flavored beer), 2 dark beers, and a 0.5l wine spritzer. The price, like the food, was amazing!! We highly recommend this mountain inn! If we could, we would give it 10 stars!

Very nice discovery, we have been coming to the Berchtesgaden region for 25 years and we had never been there, quiet restaurant with a very beautiful view, very friendly and professional service, only downside, the restaurant closes at 7 p.m. even in high season, I know that restaurants in Germany close early but it is still very early

We ended up here by chance because of the beautiful view and the good reviews for the food. We can only agree; the food was truly delicious. I had the Tafelspitz (boiled beef) and was absolutely thrilled. The taste and consistency of the sauce, the lovingly prepared meat in thin slices, everything was simply fantastic. My husband had the pork loin with mushrooms, which was also really excellent. We highly recommend the food, and the prices were reasonable to inexpensive. This was truly the best meal we had on our vacation!

After a hike along the Ramsau brine pipeline trail, we stopped at the Zipfhäusl mountain inn. The food was delicious, the schnitzels were very large, and the service was very friendly. Unfortunately, card payments are not accepted. Parking is in front of the mountain inn. From the outdoor terrace, you can enjoy a beautiful mountain panorama. There are also benches along the brine pipeline trail. Although the trail is well-maintained, I recommend sturdy footwear. There is also a walkable tunnel, and there are no noticeable elevation changes along the trail.

Service is terrible! Drinks on the hotel's terrace are not permitted.

Yes, I can recommend this place! The food is really good and consistently good. We vacationed here with the family and were lovingly and generously pampered. The rooms are beautifully decorated in Bavarian style, and almost all have beautiful mountain views. We've been here several times now and would love to come back 😊

Hot meals are served Saturday to Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. There's still shade on the terrace at lunchtime, but it can be very sunny in the afternoon.

Unfortunately, the pastries under the ice cream, whipped cream, and strawberries were very dry and tough. They didn't seem quite fresh. If it gets too crowded, it's self-service. However, the hosts are generally very hospitable. The view is great, and the summer toboggan run is an absolute must! Unfortunately, the toboggan run/lift is relatively expensive...

We received a very warm welcome, and the server was attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, we had to wait an unusually long time for our food. From our seats, we could see directly into the kitchen and had the impression that they were quite overwhelmed. Several guests were visibly waiting impatiently, and there seemed to be a lack of organization. The food, however, was good and somewhat made up for the wait.

We took a sweet break at the Zipfhäusl mountain inn on Sunday, June 15th – and were not disappointed! The apple strudel was an absolute dream: crispy pastry, wonderfully fruity filling, and perfectly balanced. The cream puff was a real highlight – a fantastic monster piece, light and creamy, and a real eye-catcher! The mixed ice cream with whipped cream was also delicious – fresh, creamy, and the whipped cream was divine – all lovingly decorated. Plus, friendly service, a great view, and a cozy atmosphere – we'd love to come back!

The Zipfhäusl is worth a visit just for the fantastic view of the Watzmann, Hochkalter, and Reiteralpe mountains. You could sit in the beer garden for hours and just gaze at the view. And when the food and service are also top-notch, nothing is left to be desired. We had a salad with turkey breast strips, and it was fantastic. The salad was very varied and crunchy, and the turkey breast strips with a sesame coating were absolutely delicious. The Leberkäse (meat loaf) with fried potatoes was also very good. We'd love to come back :)

I've known the Zipfhäusl for five years now. A visit is a must on every vacation in the Berchtesgadener Land, as the cuisine is excellent. The steak with fried potatoes, the salad with sesame chicken, and the Kaiserschmarrn are particularly recommended. Located in the middle of the brine pipeline path, it offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a wonderful meal before or after a hike while enjoying a perfect view of the Watzmann, Hochkalter, and Reiteralpe mountains. I stayed here for three nights at Easter and was thrilled by the ambiance. Cozy and clean rooms with a view of the Ramsau mountains. Simply wonderful. My special thanks go to the "fairy godmother of the house," Ms. Gundi Hirsch. With her warm, friendly, and charming manner, she made my short stay an exclusive experience. The lavish and varied Zipfhäusl breakfast leaves nothing to be desired, from savory to sweet. Ms. Hirsch even remembered the guests' coffee preferences, so drinks were provided without a word being said. Thank you so much for this wonderful stay. I would love to come back.

We had an apple strudel which was a real treat. Very very tasty with a scoop of ice cream. Highly recommended… There is also a wonderful view from the terrace. We come by once or twice a year and will definitely continue to do so in the future. A clear recommendation

We had a wonderful last vacation dinner here, which is just down the road from our AirBnB. Food is well-prepared, plentiful, and reasonable. The wild garlic cream soup was incredibly good. Only issues--the fries weren't fresh ( frozen), and lots of flies in the dining room.

For many years this restaurant has remained true to my impression that everything is harmonious. This applies to both the atmosphere and the very good price-performance ratio. You should be there quite early in the evening as the inn closes at 8 p.m. As always, very fast and friendly service.

I've known the Zipfhäusel for about 45 years. The terrace offers a fantastic view in good weather. The food was and still is always excellent. I recommend the Kaiserschmarren (sweet pancakes). It's worth a visit any time of year.

Spontaneous stops and overnight stays after a strenuous day of travel and hiking in Berchtesgadener Land are ideal here during the holiday season. The restaurant with dining room and parlor are a feast for the eyes. The kitchen leaves nothing to be desired. Classics and also vegetarian meals, snacks or delicious schnitzel or boiled beef. It's great to eat here. Great service and plenty of parking spaces round off your visit to the restaurant. In the warm season there is a beer garden with a view of the Berchtesgaden mountains that can only be described as fantastic. The restaurant is perfect after a hike or for a break with family and friends. Attention: no card payment. But the Sparkasse in Ramsau is 10 minutes away down in town. The guesthouse offers modern, high-quality rooms with a balcony and TV. A small but nice bath makes the heart beat faster. The rooms are cozy and lovingly furnished. There are rainy day board games for guests. Everything tip-top and friendly. After a restful night's sleep, the guesthouse offers a delicious breakfast that meets all preferences and you start a new day full and happy in a fantastic environment. Gladly again and again. I am still full of love for this stay.
