Great restaurant experience as a family with three small children. Very cozy atmosphere, benches, tables, high-quality furnishings, clean and well-kept. High chair and changing facilities available. Super fast, attentive and friendly service. The children's menu is very extensive and not just standard fries and nuggets. Also pasta, freshly fried meat, pancakes, etc. The daily menu offers a great selection. We had ox cheeks, dumplings and red cabbage (have never had such good red cabbage before). For dessert there was cream with raspberry sauce and pretzel crumble. It was fantastic. You can taste the cuisine's own standards in the fresh, homemade dishes. (Otherwise there would be no home-made red cabbage but instead products from a jar.) We were very satisfied and will come back. Price performance is right. EC card payment is possible.

Everything perfect, as always! We sat on the terrace and had a wonderful time with good food and friends!

We were there because of the good reviews, but unfortunately we can't confirm them. The schnitzel with the fries was too salty, and the schnitzel itself wasn't a hit... the soup, however, was very tasty... unfortunately we weren't given a particularly friendly welcome we didn't feel comfortable here...

- very nice, rustic restaurant - beautiful view of the mountains - very tasty food, the venison saddle with the sauce and the fried potatoes was a 10/10, it was slightly bloody on the inside. Chapeau to the chef 👏🏻 - Pork loin with the sauce and fries was also a 10/10 - After 4 hours of hiking, we ate incredibly well and were served very well - top service (a smile here and there from the two ladies, that would be perfect) - very baby/children friendly

The inn appears to have been newly renovated inside.

Price-performance is simply top. I can only recommend it.

This inn on the way to Ramsau scores with good home cooking and reasonable (large) portions. Priced like all other places nearby. Service good. Ambience nicely decorated and not overloaded. When the weather is nice - go out on the terrace!

We became aware of the restaurant through TripAdvisor and were extremely satisfied. We didn't make a reservation and we were given a table anyway because we went there very spontaneously. The service was on point and very friendly. The food was super delicious. Highly recommended.

We were there on Bridge Day, 5 p.m. Everything was reserved, but we still got a place until 6 p.m. The service was great, as was the food.

We stopped here on our way through. We got a table straight away without a reservation. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The food was very good. We had homemade pasta with game bolognese and game meatball with spaetzle in mushroom cream.

I have never tasted such delicious wild goulash and the other dishes are also sensational. The service is very friendly and we felt very comfortable. Anyone traveling in this beautiful area should definitely stop by here.

Magnificent view of the mountains from the outside terrace!! The food was really very good, we were really impressed. There were also great variations in the menu and the restaurant is very flexible if you have allergies or are not allowed to eat pork due to illness. They then rebuild the dishes accordingly at no extra cost. Really great!! The portions were generous and the staff was attentive and friendly. We would love to come back and can definitely recommend the restaurant.

At Wachterl we particularly appreciate the quality and special selection of dishes. In addition to the classics such as cordon bleu or schnitzel, there are game specialties. Reservation recommended.

Wir waren mit einer Gruppe von 10 Personen im Gasthaus Wachterl zum Abendessen. Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen. Die Speisekarte war nicht zu groß aber es war für jeden etwas dabei. Von Standard Gerichten wie Schnitzel bis zu etwas ausgefallenem wie Oktopus Carpaccio. Die Bestellungen wurden schnell an den Tisch gebracht. Die Speisen hatten eine sehr tolle und frische Qualität und schmecken richtig lecker. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis bewerte ich als sehr fair und günstig. Die Mitarbeiterinnen im Service waren sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und hatten immer ein lächeln im Gesicht! TIP: eine Tischreservierung ist empfehlenswert! Vielen herzlichen Dank an das gesamte Team des Gasthauses Wachterl. Wir hatten eine sehr tolle Zeit bei euch und wir fühlten uns sehr wohl. The service seemed a bit lackluster; we only received a proper greeting after the second speech. The information as to whether there was Kaiserschmarrn was also given rather annoyed. A menu had to be requested first. Despite the raisins, mistakes happen, the Kaiserschmarrn was very tasty. But I think €13.80 per person is pretty steep. We paid €36.50 for two Kaiserschmarrn, a water and a cola.

We had not made a reservation, which was not convenient, because of the weather it was only possible to sit inside, so it was full... but they were kind enough to let us sit at the regular table and still provide us with a good Bayerischer meal. Friendly service. Tasty food. And fair prices. Top.

Schnitzel fried to death, staff well, friendly is different. Ambience, sat at the cat table. The people of Berchdesgarden don't seem particularly friendly, which is one more reason for us to leave after two days.

Everything looked nice when we got there. However, they only accept cash or European EC cards. No ATM available and in the middle of nowhere. Thus we had to leave without getting our meals.

We spontaneously came here for dinner. The friendly, attentive service assigned us a table in one of the bright, spacious dining rooms and brought us the menu straight away. Here you will find a large selection of regional, creative dishes. The food was served quickly and tasted absolutely convincing. We'd love to come back.

It's my favorite restaurant when I'm in the area at least twice a year. For me the world's best Cordon Bleu! All other dishes are also very tasty and recommended. You feel welcome and comfortable. Thanks and keep it up!

We ate here for the first time and we loved it. Friendly service, short waiting times, very tasty food (seasonal and regional), great atmosphere and view, great value for money. We will be back.

Due to the good reviews and the ambience, we visited the Wirtshaus Wachterl on our short vacation today. Service and ambience were also ok. The food, however, less so. My wife had a steak medium rare with hash browns and salad. The steak came raw but was immediately fried when asked. It can happen. The salad that came with it was watery and not fresh. I had the spare ribs with BBQ sauce. They didn't taste good and I should have known better. How do you want to offer ribs in a non-specialized restaurant in a short time. The meat was still firmly on the bone, the skin was barely peeled off, and the sauce was something that was put on after grilling. In addition, the meat didn't seem fresh. The Caleslaw salad that was offered was far from the original. So it was a disappointment for us.

Great panorama which unfortunately is ruined by the service. The operation leaves a lot to be desired; No hello, no please or thank you... just very reserved and unfriendly. The food is okay but nothing special, there is much better and more authentic cuisine nearby.

Lunch was 10 out of 10, and value for money too. Unfortunately we couldn't sit on the terrace because of the weather, the view of the "tangible" mountains with powdered sugar was beautiful.

Bavarian home cooking (very tasty). It is advisable to reserve a table, as it is usually fully booked in advance. The Magentratzerl as a starter is highly recommended.

We hadn't made a reservation but still got a table for 45 minutes, the food was ordered quickly and arrived just as quickly! The staff is very friendly and makes everything possible, the Cordon Blue was very, very tasty and extremely tender! We'd love to come back at any time, you'll stay on our list!
