We were actually satisfied with the food, the service is also very friendly BUT what unfortunately really disappointed me afterwards was that I asked whether the vegetable curry with rice was also available as a children's portion (normal price €15.80). This was first answered in the negative, then in the affirmative - which made me very happy, as my daughter really likes to eat rice + vegetables. When the food came, it was a mini-mini portion of rice and the curry (portion completely OK), I then had to order another portion of rice for €5. When the bill came, I was really flabbergasted: €15.80 - €2 less for the children's portion, and + €5 for extra rice - i.e. afterwards we were more expensive than the normal dish. I don't understand why people make such a fool of their guests. Other children's meals cost a maximum of €12.80 or are under €10 It's a shame, although everything else was great.

On the first visit we thought: It can't be true that it's that good! So we had to come a second time purely out of scientific obligation. And what can you say: world-class tavern cuisine again! Salad with sophistication and crunchy, burgers juicy, goulash to kneel down on. Our dog got insect dog treats and thought it was phenomenal. Great food, warm service, cozy atmosphere and we will definitely come back for a check-up. 😋

We went there spontaneously and got a table straight away, even without a reservation. The service was very nice and accommodating. The food (liver cheese with fried potatoes, goulash with dumplings and soup pot) was served quickly, was hot and tasty. We'd love to come by again.

Had dinner at the Waldquelle inn today. Very nice and attentive service. What is particularly noteworthy, however, is the freshness and quality of the food! Had the venison schnitzel with sauce, which was excellent in terms of taste and preparation. Kudos to the kitchen and keep it up. We would love to come back 👍🏻

We came twice during our winter stay in Berchtesgaden and absolutely loved Wirtshaus Waldquelle each time. We particularly enjoyed the hare-ragout and the game-meat burger, but everything else we tried was on the higher-end both in quality and quantity (note that the meat & fish served are either directly local or from the region). The service is just as phenomenal with attentive and friendly waitresses & a general welcoming atmosphere. We strongly recommend. ❤️

The food and service are – as always – absolutely great. For me, however, today's visit was a very special and emotional experience, as my father passed away 14 days ago. This restaurant was his favorite place and I can still see him sitting in "his" chair. The warm atmosphere and outstanding quality here make it easier to preserve beautiful memories and find moments of solace. Thanks to the entire team for this consistency and the loving treatment - it means more than words can express. --- Certainly one of the best places in the area. They only serve best, fresh and homemade food in original style with great portions at a very reasonable price!!! The service and kitchen is marvelous!!!

Super nice and open inn! The two of us and our children (approx. 1 year old) ate here and were thrilled. Very friendly service, you immediately feel at home 😊 A small portion of spaetzle was made especially for the child, I personally can only recommend the Schwabenpfandl to anyone who likes to eat meat 🤩

Absolutely fantastic food and the ambience is great too. However, it would be desirable if the service staff dealt with problems a little more professionally. If you pour a beer all over a guest's clothes and cell phone, you can expect that the service staff will respond or take appropriate action (give you something to dry, for example). However, this did not happen.

The service was very friendly and attentive. Five stars for the young woman. Unfortunately, the onion soup wasn't to my taste as it was completely "over-seasoned" with far too many different herbs. The toast was covered in a lot of sauce and completely soggy. The fries were delicious. The beer is fresh and well chilled.

We stopped in for dinner without a reservation and we were promptly seated and served. The Asian style dumplings were a nice surprise. The meat had just the right amount of savory offset by the sweet dip. The kaserspatzle was bit dry, needs just a little more liquid.

We visited the Waldquelle Wirtshaus for dinner today. The evening was absolutely magnificent. From the service to the ambience to the food, absolutely everything was perfect. You immediately feel at home there, the guest room has been furnished with great attention to detail. Our waitress Steffi was incredibly attentive and super nice. The food was really tasty. We would visit the inn again at any time and can fully recommend it.

A good option for eating out in Ramsau

After a long day of hiking, I had the Leberkäse with fried potatoes and it was incredibly tasty. The waitresses were very friendly and the food came very quickly. Absolutely clear recommendation!

A wonderful experience at the Waldquelle Wirtshaus We recently stayed at the Waldquelle Wirtshaus and can only warmly recommend it! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, but what stands out is the extremely friendly service. The entire staff was attentive, courteous and always there with a smile. We chose grilled chamois medallions and a classic Viennese schnitzel – both were excellent! The chamois loin medallions were tender and grilled to perfection, and the Wiener Schnitzel was golden brown and crispy, just as it should be. There were also fresh side dishes that rounded the whole thing off wonderfully. We will definitely come back and recommend the Waldquelle Wirtshaus to all our friends and acquaintances. A real insider tip for lovers of Bavarian cuisine!

The food was very good and the portions were more than enough. Nice staff and there are paintable children's cards for children to keep busy. Drinking bowls for dogs are also available. Very great for families.

Let's start with the "welcome": You come in and are checked out and ignored. The man behind the counter with his scarf... (is that an FFP-2 mask or a surgical mask????) After what felt like 3-5 minutes, someone felt responsible and showed us our table. As a starter I had the soup of the day, which was a vegetable broth with semolina dumplings. As a guest, you can expect that a soup that is fresh of the day will come to the table hot and not lukewarm. The dumplings were tasteless, the broth was ok. For the main course I chose the meatloaf with fried potatoes. The potatoes were not salted and some were cold. (Also with my companion) The cordon bleu was good. I'd better not say anything about the meatloaf... every housewife can do that better. Let's move on to the underground staff, who act unprofessionally and regard friendliness as a foreign concept. Not even a “goodbye” came from my lips! Never again Waldquelle Ramsau

Very tasty food and fresh. We reserved a table at 5 p.m. Despite further orders, which were repeatedly forgotten, dessert, we were asked to vacate the table at 6.30 p.m. because more guests were coming. My wife was still eating. This is the biggest insolence that has ever happened to me in a restaurant. Venison goulash was supposedly out at 5 p.m., the next guests got it. Thank you very much!

A place that I recommend! We spent a week's vacation in Berchtesgaden and we discovered this restaurant one afternoon after a walk in Ramsau. We liked the dishes at this lunch so much that we made reservations for dinner in the evening a few days later. Everything is really delicious and the portions are generous. The welcome is really friendly. Go ahead with your eyes closed

The pinsa and the pizza tasted really good, but this is not at all right, as there is a €1 surcharge for leaving out (!!) cheese. And that despite the fact that this vegan option was also on the menu (without this surcharge). I am very disappointed. I've been ordering my pizzas without cheese for 10 years, but I've never experienced anything like this. It's a shame because it was really tasty!

Since it hasn't been mentioned in any reviews, I'd like to start at this point. The restaurant/tavern is very clean, from the outside terrace to the toilet (well gentlemen definitely 😅). When furnishing, great attention was paid to rural style. The menu is varied, from heavy home cooking to pizza and bourgeois. The food is set up carefully (no white plates for everything or anything like that). There was really a lot of work on the concept here! And of course the most important thing: “It was tasty” (for wheat beer drinkers: yes, it tastes good too😅) the staff was more than friendly. A small drawback is the parking situation, but that is a general problem in the region. Rarely eaten so well 😁

Super tasty. Service very courteous and quick. Even if the restaurant is completely full, you don't have to wait long for your order, even though everything is freshly prepared. Totally child-friendly, with a children's menu and changing facilities. Something like this is worth a lot as a family.

The portions are generous. The side salad is already from the bottom drawer in terms of quality. We have eaten here several times. The chicken breast in the salad was dry, the fish was partially undercooked in the first attempt and the ribs were also dried out and not tender. The schnitzel is ok. The service is friendly. But we waited forever to pay several times. The view is beautiful!

It doesn't work at all. We had to wait over an hour for our food even though it wasn't very busy. Other tables who ordered much later than us received their food much earlier than us. And we didn't order anything special. Then there wasn't even an apology, but in the end it was the guests' fault. The question of whether we would get a schnapps as compensation for the long wait, which in our opinion would have been the minimum, was rejected in a very unfriendly manner. And paying one euro for every small change in order is no longer the way things are. This can be done quickly with a modern ordering system, instead of just pieces of paper. It was just a disappointment. Thank you very much to the waitress S...... We will cook in our motorhome again in the future.

We were there on Monday which I believe is their GrillNight, much to our delight! We struggled to park as there isn't much but it was well-worth it! Delicious food, kind waiter and our dog was more than welcome in the beer garden (not sure about inside). Affordable food and quality too!

Had the pleasure of spending a few nights in Ramsau as a fitter. Since I only had a holiday room, I had to look for a restaurant. The Waldquelle was recommended to me and it was a very good recommendation. The food is excellent, the service is top and the prices are reasonable, so you get good food at a reasonable price. Also worth mentioning is the view from the beer garden, where the half-light beer tastes even better. The only drawback that should be mentioned is the parking situation in front of the entrance. Unfortunately, the cars sometimes park so stupidly that families with strollers have to take a detour via a side entrance with stairs. Maybe you can create some relief by not blocking the main entrance, as access is sometimes a bit tight for pedestrians because of the cars.

Tolles Restaurant mit abwechslungsreicher Karte. Für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei, von traditionell bayrisch über Burger bis zu Pizza. Wechselnde Aktionstage (z.B. Pulled Pork Burger Donnerstags). Tolles Ambiente mit ruhigem Außenbereich und aufwendig renoviertem Innenbereich. An ausgewählten Tagen im Sommer spiel eine Kapelle. Die Parksituation ist etwas angespannt, Ersatz gibt es nahe der Hauptstraße nur wenige 100 Meter entfernt.

Our first visit to the forest spring. Super friendly staff. Food came after only about 1/4 hour. We had been looking forward to the beer garden in advance, but the rain meant we had to leave the dining room. And it was so beautiful and harmonious. The food (wild boar goulash/butter spaetzle; schnitzel with fries for the child) was absolutely delicious. All in all we were totally thrilled. LG and thank you again 👍

Actually a really nice guesthouse, but we don't quite see the 5 stars in many other reviews. The waitresses are really nice and warm and the outside area is really nice to sit in. Which we found very unfortunate - Unfortunately, the quality of our food was only average (schnitzel and pizza were okay but no more, the fries were hard, the tarte flambée was actually pizza dough with a different topping but not a real tarte flambée) - Reservations are only accepted for indoor dining - it's a shame, this isn't a problem with almost all restaurants in the area - If you want to change small things about the court, rebooking immediately costs an extra €1 - here you get the feeling that individual wishes, which are taken into account elsewhere as a matter of course, are unwelcome here In summary: A very nice restaurant to sit outside if you spontaneously get a seat, unfortunately the food is not convincing. That's a real shame because the personal factor is absolutely great.

We were able to make a reservation at short notice. The service staff was super friendly and attentive. The food was really good, but the chef had a weakness for spiciness😉. The kettle goulash was fiery but very tasty. We can fully recommend a visit.

Extremely nice and warm service. The food went well! Only in the case of the pork fillet medallions would it have been nice to actually preserve them and not just serve flattened pork schnitzels. The venison goulash, on the other hand, was very good.

Really great place. The service (from Steffi) was first class, we have rarely been served so cheerfully and courteously. We were there with a baby and toddler and even special requests were taken into account very kindly. The food was very delicious and nicely presented. Attention was also paid to small details (diaper bags, baby cream, documents, deodorant for the mom). It doesn't cost much and makes the guests very happy. We'll come back on our next vacation! We spontaneously came to this restaurant during our camping holiday. I had the smash burger with fries. The service was very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately the burger wasn't very good, the meat was okay but there was too much cheese on it and the bottom half of the bun was soggy. the portion of fries was very generous. My colleague also ordered a corn on the cob which we shared and it was 10/10. In itself a nice restaurant in a nice location.
