We really enjoy coming to the Giesinger Garden. Food, service and atmosphere, really top.

The lunch menu was raised to 9.90 euros some time ago. That would be ok. However, the roast pork portion was reduced at the same time. The onion roast cost 16.90 euros a year ago, then 19.90. Meanwhile 26.90. The price-performance ratio no longer fits. Sausage salad and Obazda still cost the same as before, but the portion is about 40% less. Today I ordered fried chicken for 16.90 euros. I got a breaded chicken breast. Sorry dear chef, but you obviously don't know what a fried chicken is. The waitress wanted to pass on the complaint. I didn't receive a response. You used to be a nice Bavarian restaurant with a good price-performance ratio. I think you've lost a lot of that. I was there about 25 times a year - you'll have to do without me in the future.

Many options, good prices, nice garden

Yesterday we were in the Giesinger Garden again for a long time. The service was nice and pleasant. I had a duck shred burger from the daily menu. A creative idea in itself and the burger was good too. You just have to say that the fries as a side dish were so inferior, that in retrospect you are annoyed that you accepted it like that. Really the cheapest rock-hard fries, any outdoor pool kiosk can do them even better. This confirms to me again that the Giesinger Garden is nice for sitting outside and having a drink, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone for eating. The price level used to be much fairer, so things like this were still accepted. With the current prices you have a certain expectation of the food.

Great garden under trees with sufficient shade even on hot days. The food was very good to my taste and the waiting time was short. For people who like to sit outdoors, it is a small island in our urban jungle. I really liked it and when I come back to Munich I will take my next break and have a good meal. - Oh, before I forget, prices are moderate and tend to be too cheap - value for money is absolutely ok for me. Finding a parking space is a matter of patience😉

I would like to warn every potential customer not to visit this establishment! Apparently salads/mushrooms, among other things, are not cleaned properly before they are served to the guest. I had stones in my salad with chanterelles and damaged two of my teeth (the result was a long dentist appointment and costs of around 200 euros). When I immediately told the waiter about this, all I got was “hm, okay…” The operators, the Kustatscher family, also left a postal letter about the incident unanswered. It's sad when the well-being of your guests means so little to you. There are so many great taverns and innkeepers in Munich - but I will avoid this place in the future.

Actually always good! But the miniature potato soup, tastes good, more of a “soup”, for 7.50!!! with maybe half a wiener I thought was awesome... in a tiny little blue pot. But no one has solved “all you know how to have fun”...

Very good food and very friendly staff

The food was delicious. However, the tattooed and pierced waitress was unfortunately unfriendly, she was in a bad mood, she didn't show a smile, and she threw the papers on the table when we didn't tip, without saying goodbye or wishing you a nice day. Not recommended at all :(

Unfortunately the food has gotten worse and worse. This used to be a good place. That's why we always gave the Giesinger Garden another chance. But the plates are always smeared. The lettuce wilted. Everything seems extremely loveless. Even though we generally had good experiences with the service, I can only advise against the food.

Nice beer garden, as it should be, not like the many impersonal money machines here in M. Served quickly, food arrived quickly. Conditions friendly. Only more than 5€ for a small salad and more than 14€ for cream mushrooms with, at least 2, dumplings is too expensive! A little salt in the sauce would also be recommended. But there was salt and pepper at the table, so it was delicious when seasoned. Nevertheless, I'll come back.

Top service, Augustiner is good anyway, food is great

Great service, lovely beer garden. We had the Münchener Schnitzel and it was delicious! Tarte flambée and goulash are also on point.

We ate here today with 4 people and after waiting almost 2 hours for our food, we decided not to tip. The waitress was then very unfriendly and said that it was the last thing to leave a tip on a bill of €99.30. As we were leaving she said to me “now get out of here”. When I got home I did the math again based on the menu and my companion did the same again. We all came to a total price of €91.30. Something seems to be wrong here or a mistake has been made, now I regret not having the bill given to me. If anyone wants to do the math: 2× Cola 2× juice spritzer (passion fruit and cherry) 2× Schnitzel Viennese style 2× cream mushrooms with bread dumplings 1× Kaiserschmarn I really enjoyed eating here and was happy to give a tip, but this time we just didn't think it was deserved. The waitress has scared away customers and we won't be coming back. The family at the table next to us also didn't leave a tip for the same reasons: long waiting times and unfriendly service. She also asked about it directly so that everyone in the restaurant would know.

Arriving in Munich the same day, we decided to have dinner in this brasserie. What a desappointment ! The place, the atmosphere and the terrace are very nice but that’s all!!! Oh yes the beers… a delight! For the rest, everything else, forget it!!!! The waiters are barely friendly, not a smile and barely a good evening… it’s true that we don’t speak German but do our best to make ourselves understood. As for the food, it’s a joke! A burger for €16.90 with overcooked steak, a bun bought at the local supermarket and a poor sauce Don't take the flamkuche goat's cheese, pear and honey cream!! I didn’t see the cream and even less the honey! No taste no pleasure A summer salad with pork, if we put aside that everything is in a bag, it was undoubtedly the best plate! And all this for the modest sum of €92.30!!! The icing on the cake, when paying, the waitress (unpleasant) asks us if we want to tip... not really wanting to but hey I round it up to €93 (I know it's a bit ratty... but frankly it's is already too expensive to pay) and from that moment on, we were totally pissed off!!! You can imagine that the “goodbye” never happened!! Basically run away except for a beer!

Was there for the round of 16 of the European Championships in the beer garden. I liked it. Obatzda and beer were tasty. Service was good.

Unfortunately, the food is just average for the prices. Service does bring what you ordered, but you can also wait 20 minutes for a drink - but the main thing is to enlarge the outside area, even though you can't handle that. Ambience, on the other hand, is very nice. Lots of potential with moderately good execution

Unfortunately there is no possibility to change the child's diaper. No alternative was offered either. Food very good. Lots of cigarette butts on the ground in the beer garden.

With the Giesinger Garden you go through various ups and downs. I usually have nice service and good food, but more and more recently the food has just been bland and not really worth the price. Of course, it has to happen quickly and there is a lot of rush. But in my opinion the quality should not suffer. They made a name for themselves during Corona, I guess precisely because the guests couldn't be there. In other words, yes, the Giesinger Garden can and offers many advantages, but be it due to a lack of staff (as is common in the industry) or something similar, the quality has declined significantly in recent years. I found the situation particularly strange when I was last there with regular guests who always swear loyalty to the Giesinger Garden and couldn't share my experiences. They defended the Giesinger Garden and admitted that they had also heard criticism like mine, but had never experienced it themselves. These regular guests had been sitting outside in the beer garden for hours (more than 6 hours) to get a good spot on the weekend and linger, but (I come from the catering industry myself) they were not honored in my opinion. Even when they made another reservation for the next day and asked the clearly stressed “boss” (?) a question, they were treated like air. This is completely foreign to me and I hereby appeal to the innkeepers - despite the prevailing criticism - to allow themselves time, a kind word or a drink on the house, especially for these guests. You live from them, others with my experiences probably won't come back. Greetings go to Untergiesing!

Great beer garden. We were here during the European Championships. Good Bavarian cuisine, large portions at reasonable prices. We were there a total of 3 times and always had nice service.

Was in the beer garden once before. Today I wanted to eat something again, I sat there at the table for 20 minutes but was ignored by the service people. I left again.

Danger! Very unfriendly innkeepers, not recommended!!!! We were at the public viewing in the beer garden. The game was also running in the restaurant, but the live stream in the beer garden was 30 seconds behind, so the tension was gone. When we asked the landlord about it, he yelled at us (!!!!) and didn't do anything. The sound also didn't work at times and was much too quiet. The service was also unfriendly. Not recommended!

Nice restaurant and beer garden in Giesing. There is sufficient parking space on the adjacent streets. Reservations are easy via Google. The atmosphere is great for watching football, there are TVs in every direction.

We ordered a roast pork and three Augustiners for delivery on Sunday. Roast pork was ok, delivery was on time. Unfortunately the 3 drinks were apparently lost. Since then I have been trying to find a contact person at Lieferando. It's unpleasant when you have to chase after the money you've already transferred. Finally, I can say that Lieferando transferred the money back to the credit card.

The dishes were freshly prepared and very tasty 😋 especially several vegetarian dishes on the menu. The waitresses were very friendly and quick despite the large crowds outside in the nice weather. It was very crowded. Be sure to reserve in advance on weekends. There are also several spritzes to choose from 🍹

The food is totally down-to-earth and delicious. A bit like “Grandma at home”. The service was also very attentive and friendly. The restaurant itself is not in such an exciting location, but the proximity to the Isar invites you to take a digestive walk.

The food delivery via Lieferando was a disappointment! The meat patty of the burger was still raw inside. That is not how it works! The fries were soggy and cold. The salad was OK. A real shame for the money! The delivery was on time as stated.

The garden is nice. However, the tarte flambée from the daily menu with rosemary from the spice jar was a disgrace for around 14 euros.

Unfortunately, I can't agree with the good reviews. This disgusting shop should get a visit from the health department. I had such severe stomach cramps all night after eating that I finally had to see a doctor, who diagnosed food poisoning. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this store and one star is still too much Update: I lost 10kg as a result, so that's fair

Cozy Bavarian-Munich Augustinian restaurant. I'm often in the Giesinger Garden, sometimes inside, sometimes outside and it's really very comfortable to sit. Sometimes cards are also played, which simply underlines the ambience. The food is really tasty and I can recommend the roast pork. The beer is available at moderate prices, the service is on point and always friendly. I love being here and have never been disappointed

Went to lunch in the “Giesinger Garten” (four adults) on Sunday, February 4th, 2024. I have rarely eaten such good roast pork! The meat was buttery soft, the gravy was definitely home-made, a nice large, well-made crisp rind, two potato dumplings plus coleslaw, which was very well seasoned. The other three dishes: Kasspatzen with salad, spinach dumplings, baked potato with turkey strips and salad. Everything really big portions - price: TOP! The ambience: Traditional Bavarian/Munich. Toilets very modern, well maintained, clean. The service was excellent, that's exactly how it should be.

Nice inn, very nice service and good food. Unfortunately, the salad plate had too much dressing, so the salad at the bottom was very soggy. The potato salad wasn't great either. The Munich Schnitzel, however, was unbeatably good.

Came here for a proper Bavarian lunch. Despite the name (I think Giesinger is the neighborhood), this is an Augustiner-sponsored pub/tavern/biergarten. All of the Augustiner beers are available here, including the Pils and Weissbier in bottles that they pour into a proper glass. Their traditional menu is fantastic, with both the classic German dishes and some great regional meals, including a great seasonal menu. I had a bowl of chestnut cream soup which was simply incredible. Decided on the roast pork in dark beer gravy and sides of saurkraut and potato dumplings. Great vibe/atmosphere with ALL locals coming in for a beer and lunch. Local construction workers, older retired folks, young families. This is clearly a neighborhood institution.

Waren heute zum Abendessen dort. Tolles Essen, super Service und urige Atmosphäre. Sehr empfehlenswert. Zwiebelrostbraten hervorragend.

Outstanding meal, service (with waiter Noyan Bapari), and atmosphere at the Giesinger Garten. Had the weekly Cordon Bleu, and it was one of the best meals I’ve had in Munich. Five-stars, can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough!

Tolles Essen, blitzschnell zubereitet in tollem urigen Lokal 🥰

Vor Ort hat es mir gut gefallen aber bei der Lieferung wurde ich leider enttäuscht. 12€ für eine winzige Ofenkartoffel, kalt geliefert. Falsche Beilage beim Schnitzel und das Fleisch beim Giesinger Pfanderl war angebrannt! Und das ist bei den Preisen leider schon etwas unverschämt.

Der Giesinger Garten ist ein gut bürgerliches, gemütliches Wirtshaus mit Biergarten. Das Ambiente wirkt einladend und stimmig. Die Bedienung war schnell und freundlich, der Service hat gepasst Das Essen war sehr gut, da gibt es nichts zu beanstanden. Für mich hat alles gepasst, hier komme ich gern wieder hin.

Empfehlenswert,nur leider die Preise sind gestiegen und manchmal muss man länger warten auf die Bedingung.

Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis und Ambiente einfach top

Wir waren am Abend für ein Essen mit etwas mehr als 10 Personen dort. Das Essen selber war sehr gut. Der Service jedoch war alles andere als wünschenswert. Obwohl nicht viel los war, kamen die Getränke sehr spät, ebenso das Essen. Wir hatten Vorspeise, Hauptgericht und Nachspeise. Bei 2 Gerichten wurden die Beilagen falsch aufgenommen. Die Teller wurden gar nicht oder jedesmal sehr spät abgeräumt. Letztendlich stellten wir sie an den Nachbartisch oder brachten sie selber Richtung Schänke. Für mich wäre dieser Abend mit diesem Service ein Grund, dort nicht mehr zum Essen zu gehen. Ich kann nur hoffen, dass dies eine einmalige Situation war, in die wir zufällig geraten sind und es sich bei dem Kellner um eine Aushilfe aufgrund der Wiesn-Zeit handelte. Jeder verdient eine 2. Chance, auch dieses Lokal.

Unser absolutes Stammlokal. Gutbürgerliche Küche at it‘s best. Auch zum mitnehmen empfehlenswert. Die Bedienungen sind sehr aufmerksam. Einzig das Bier könnte näher auf den halben Liter aufgefüllt werden. Hier fehlt teilweise mal aufgrund des Schaums gut und gerne 0,1 Liter.
