I love coming here when I want to treat myself to something nice. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the food and drinks are a true explosion of flavor! The menu is composed with a lot of care, planning, and experience, and above all, the taste is excellent, which always manages to pick me up and take me on a little culinary journey around the world. If you can live with the smell of fried food (I like it), you'll feel very comfortable inside.

The restaurant was quite busy, and we were lucky enough to be assigned a table. The first round of drinks and food went quite quickly. After that, the interior became so crowded that the waitress, who was serving alone, couldn't keep up. We would have liked to have had something else to eat and drink. We were there in the evening and unfortunately the photos don't do justice to the delicious food. Everything was delicious, especially the Cajun Spiced Chicken and the Nashville Fried Chicken. The edamame as well as the cucumber salad, the kimchi and the fries completely convinced us. The drinks are original and very drinkable. Really successful fusion food. The service staff was courteous and unobtrusive. We will come again. 잘 먹었습니다.

We were recently at Waya Kitchen in Düsseldorf and what can we say – we were thrilled from A to Z! The atmosphere there is totally pleasant, relaxed and cozy. We got a spot outside and were able to relax there and watch the hustle and bustle. Right from the start, the service was totally friendly, attentive and in a good mood - you immediately feel at home. Now for the most important part: the food! We had the Waya Fried Chicken, one version Maple Style and one Sweet & Spicy. This was SO delicious! The chicken was super juicy and perfectly crispy on the outside. The Maple Style was a brilliant combination of sweet and savory and the Sweet & Spicy had a great spiciness without being over the top. Both are simply great! There was also a side poutine - it was also really well made, nice and cheesy and with a delicious sauce. As a drink we had the Moose Head beer, which went great with it. We really enjoyed our time at Waya Kitchen, from the warm welcome to the fantastic food to the relaxed atmosphere outside. The overall package is just right here. We can recommend the restaurant without any ifs and buts and will definitely come back! If you like really good fried chicken, you have to go here!

A really good shop with very tasty food! The concept is somewhat reminiscent of tapas, as many dishes are ideal for sharing - ideal if you are there with several people. However, I think some dishes are a bit overpriced, such as the cheese sandwich. The changing menus are exciting, but not always to my taste; I used to like some of them better. Nevertheless, it's a great place with great food and I can recommend it overall for a few drinks in the evening

Here you can sit relaxed and eat delicious food. There is a brunch menu on weekends. Shakshuka and Yuzu ginger tea were delicious. I'll come back again in the evening.

Incredibly great food, an absolute must for lovers of taste explosions! We were there for the first time and tried things out a bit - that's exactly what you should do there. We particularly enjoyed the sauce with the scallops. A real recommendation! In addition, the service was really great and the selection of drinks was as exceptional as it was good :)

Waya, what happened to you? We were there for a birthday dinner yesterday. There was a lot going on and we understand if it took a little longer. As is typical for Waya, the food doesn't arrive at the same time, we expected that. What we didn't expect was that we had to wait more than an hour for two main courses. The service was hardly visible at the time, except in the kitchen (obviously eating). It's also a mystery to me that service staff stay there wearing clothes that the waiters wear. This is not Haccp-compliant. When we were finally able to ask about the food, the answer was "coming soon". No apology, no nothing. We then canceled the second main course (poutine - it doesn't take an hour to prepare), obviously both dishes were forgotten and only prepared after we asked. It's a shame, we would have liked to ask earlier, but do you have to go to the kitchen to do that? We observed other tables where food was also missing. So it seemed like there was a worm in there. When we wanted to pay afterwards, we couldn't find any staff again. It's a mystery to me how the four of us can take a smoke break while the tables haven't been cleared and guests are still trying to pay. And that before the second round (reservations at 8) comes? Super unprofessional. I assume that due to other priorities (such as staff who prefer to eat behind the counter and talk to each other) several tables/food were forgotten and this situation arose. It's a real shame, my mood dropped so quickly yesterday and I really didn't feel good, in the end we were very annoyed. And this despite the fact that service used to be one of Waya's strengths.

If you want to have a linegering smell on your clothes and smelling like a deep fryer, this is definitely the place for you.

Very nice evening, unfortunately their hood is not working so all our clothes, coats, etc were incredibly smelly. Clothes etc we can wash, coats had to go the dry cleaning to get the smell out. Left a bad taste after an otherwise great evening!

The food was fresh, light and delicious. The cocktails too are just as good as the food! The staff are very friendly and helpful, in multiple languages.

A really nice, cosy spot. I ordered ceviche to start and for the main I had sweet & spicy fried chicken with some tasty chips on the side. It was absolutely delicious, and you can have such a great time here with each other. The staff are really lovely too. All in all, I’d definitely recommend it. I enjoyed the food so much that I totally forgot to take any pictures!

If you consider that even the ketchup is made in-house, it's really a real hit - everything is made by 0 himself Fresh and crunchy food. The combinations of several cuisines are exactly what I like. Definitely a culinary experience 🫶🏼

The 3 small tacos for €19.50 were a pure disappointment. The price-performance ratio was not appropriate. We have food and drink for €30 per person. ordered and didn't get full. The boneless chicken, on the other hand, was very tasty and we would come back for it. Overall, Waya Kitchen is a nice place to sit and the service was also friendly. We left the restaurant with mixed feelings.

If you had asked me about my favorite restaurant back in 2021, without hesitation, I would have pointed you straight to Waya. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, they consistently delivered an impressively curated menu—fresh, bursting with flavor, and truly memorable. However, my recent visit unfortunately marks the end of an era for me. My partner, who has dietary restrictions regarding pork, ordered his poutine (something he regularly ordered over the years), stressing "no bacon" —a simple adjustment as the bacon was merely a topping— but despite all that the dish arrived overflowing with it. Our attempt to politely rectify the mistake was met with an eye roll from the waitress before she disappeared into the kitchen. Ten minutes later, a replacement plate arrived without bacon, but the damage was done. The dish was disappointingly cold, with limp fries and bland poutine —hard to believe you could mess up fries, gravy, and cheese, but here we are. The combination of the waitress's dismissive attitude and the lackluster, overpriced, cold food left us hungry and disheartened. A place that once brought us immense joy now finds itself removed from our list of recommendations. While I'd prefer to award zero stars, I'll give two, solely for the nostalgia it holds. I sincerely hope Waya can rediscover its former charm, as the owner's passion for his creations deserves better than this.

Ate at Waya Kitchen today, and wow, the food and ambience cannot be beaten, the place has a totally harmonious flair and the service is fast and courteous, but the real star at Waya is the food! The chicken is so juicy, I didn't know if it was the juice from the meat or my tears of joy because it was so delicious! Especially the smashed cucumber salad is SMASH! loving it, gladly again!

We found food, drinks, and concept really very creative and appealing. However, there was one thing that was disappointing: We had ordered appetizers, then drinks, then mains with sides. Right the drinks, the first side came, followed by another one, followed by the main. By the time the mains arrived we had finished both sides and still haven’t seen the appetizers which we then canceled.

Incredibly delicious karage, cool ambience and nice service.. We can only recommend it to everyone.

Was invited to a celebration at Waya. At the reception there were oysters and a petnat of brass red or white. Goed excellent with the oysters. The other dishes were served at the table and were of very good quality and creatively prepared. The service also worked great. I can totally recommend it.

It was the first time there and you have to understand the concept first. The food tasted delicious. Next time I'll order the items individually and not as a bowl. The fact that the fries were swimming in the sauce wasn't my thing.

Good little Asian Fusion restaurant with delicious fried chicken. Here you can eat well as a couple or in smaller groups. A reservation is recommended. Unfortunately, the menu was quite small last week on Valentine's Day and many dishes that I saw in the reviews were not offered. The menu is probably currently being worked on. I remember the service as particularly positive. The waitress gave us very good advice on what to eat and tried very hard to find a suitable dish for my girlfriend, who has to avoid any additives due to her allergies. The edamame and fried chicken were really tasty. It's just that the clothes smell strongly of it after visiting the restaurant 😅

Very cosy and trendy asian fusion. Don’t be afraid to order the spicy chicken. It is more flavourful than spicy. Delicious and unique cocktails. Portions were perfect.

Actually, I always eat the Caesar fries there, only yesterday early in the evening I bit into a portion of fries with my front incisors and one of the fries was so rock hard that a piece of the tooth on my lower jaw broke off and almost a complete tooth on my upper jaw broke off is broken. I won't go there again, even if the food is actually great.

Wow!! Really a great great restaurant, it was incredibly tasty. Service was top notch and quick!! The food was very special and beautifully prepared - there was really something for everyone. If you are nearby you should definitely go there. The drinks were also special and particularly tasty! :-) big recommendation

Sehr coole Fusion Küche, sehr leckeres Hähnchen, Poutine und Tacos. Auch die Beilagen wie Gurkensalat, Kimchi und Reis waren super gewürzt. Sehr freundliches Personal, lockere Atmosphäre, schöne offene Küche, aber drinnen leider etwas laut. Absolut gerne wieder

Leider war der Besuch im Restaurant sehr unzufrieden! Die Portionen waren sehr klein und überteuert! Wir hatten verschiedene Gerichte bestellt, und leider war es nicht besonders geschmackvoll! Tacos mit Pilzen einfach drauf geklatscht mit etwas Koriander und servierfertig für 12,50 Euro. Genauso die Pulled Chicken Tacos. Die einfachen Pommes kamen nicht heiß genug und der Dip- Trüffelmayonaise- kam drei-vier Minuten später! Dafür 6,00Euro plus 1Euro für den Dip. Der einfache kleine Salat hatte als Dressing Pflanzenöl oder ähnliches. Der Cheesecake und Brülle war einfach eine Enttäuschung! Dafür musste man 7,50 Euro bezahlen! Danke aber nie wieder!

Manche lieben es, andere nicht. Ich gehöre zur letzteren Gruppe. Das Essen ist tatsächlich comfortfood, die Einrichtung ist schön und es gibt einen guten Außenbereich, aber irgendwie ist mir der ganze Laden zu hipsterprätentiös. Da wird Unorganisation als ein Konzept verkauft (Ein Tisch bekommt nicht notwendig zur gleichen Zeit das Essen, damit es ‚wirklich‘ frisch ist) und der Service ist nicht aufmerksam, sondern eher desinteressiert gelangweilt. Dazu kommt so ein Quatsch wie Pitcher aus zusammengeschüttetem Flaschenbier.

Gibt es ein Restaurant mit veganer Küche in Ddorf, das dem Waya das Wasser reichen könnte? Ich meine ganz klar: nein! Absolut köstlich, vielfältig, gesund, toll gewürzt, überraschend - wow. Die Entdeckung des Jahres 🥰 Dazu leckere Cocktails auf der Karte, toller Service. Der 1. Preis für vegane Restaurants geht hier konkurrenzlos an den Hermannplatz - Soulfood indeed 😍 Yep: draussen sitzt man besser als drinnen, wo es wirklich extrem laut werden kann und nichts den Schall schluckt. Und natürlich gibt es keine Optionen für Vollkorn und bei den Ölen könnte natürlich auch noch was gehen - wo nicht ... Also gibt's noch Luft nach oben. Aber im Vergleich: wow, die machen verdammt viel richtig, richtig gut 👍🏼 😊

Insgesamt reicht es leider nur für 4 Sterne. Das Essen ist einfach unschlagbar. Daran ist nichts auszusetzen. Wir saßen drinnen und als das Restaurant voll war, war die Geräuschkulisse sehr laut. Der Service ist an sich okay! Ich würde für das sehr gute Essen auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Out of this world deicious fried chicken (choose the chimmichurri option) and homemade fries. Small but tasty selection of cocktails and coolest vibes.

Ich habe unser abendessen erstmal eine woche sacken lassen bevor ich bewerte. Ich muss sagen es fehlt immer noch etwas für einen 5 Stern. Die Qualität der Speisen ist an sich sehr gut, jedes allein stehend. Aber die Gerichte passen für den aktuellen tapas style irgendwie nicht zusammen es fehlt die harmonie der Geschmäcker. Wir hatten viele unterschiedliche Speisen und ich hatte auch noch ein Hauptgericht welches auch sehr lecker war. Mir fehlte jedoch die Auswahl an Hauptgerichten glaube es gab 6. Die Nachspeisen Käsekuchen hat zu Zitronig geschmeckt und die aufgespießten mochis waren zwar gut aber den preis nicht wert, so besonders waren die dann auch nicht. Overall etwas überteuert. Das Ambiente lädt auch nicht zum verweilen ein, stühle erinnern mich an meine Grundschulzeit. Besteck und Geschirr hingegen sind extraklasse. Service ist modern und pfiffig. Jedoch kamen unsere 3 Hauptgerichte zu unterschiedlichen Zeiten. Insgesamt hänge ich zwischen 3 und 4 Sternen. Ich komme wieder wenn die karte wieder wechselt um neu zu bewerten. Erstmal bleibe ich bei 4.

Ich war früher hier gerne und häufiger Gast und so wurde ich auch behandelt. Nach einem Umzug konnte ich das Lokal nun das erste Mal seit einem Jahr aufsuchen und wurde gnadenlos enttäuscht. Die abwechslungsreiche und stetig gute und kleine Karte ist geblieben. Die Portionen sind allerdings um einiges kleiner geworden. Leider wurde ich nicht satt. Ferner war mein Gericht sehr trocken. Bei einem Wareneinsatz von Reis, Tofu, Bohnen und Thai Basilikum 16€ zu verlangen ist für die angesprochenen Menge einfach nur frech. Am Nebentische bekam ein Kunde kalte Pommes serviert, welche er reklamierte. Die Bedienung nahm diese zur Küche mit und brachte sie mit der Begründung, dass die Soßen schließlich kalt seien zurück. Der Kunde betonte abermals, das dies zwar stimmen möge, die Pommes allerdings kalt seien, auch die nicht von einer Soße bedeckt seien. Bei einem Preis von 7€ pro Portion, bekam er dann auf Wunsch eine neu angerichtete Portion. Auf Nachfrage nach dem Essen, wie es mir denn geschmeckt habe, entgegnete ich, dass es mal größere Portionen waren und es doch recht trocken war. Entgegengebracht wurde mir ein: ach echt, findest du. Die Portionen sind eigentlich sogar üppiger als von 1-2 Jahren. Naja, vllt ändert es sich ja nochmal

Dauert recht lang bis das Essen kommt und die Portionen sind eher klein. Nach zweiten Besuch konnte der Laden mich leider nicht überzeugen, da das Essen nicht wirklich nach meinem Geschmack war. Meinen Freunden hat es aber gut gefallen. Auch das Personal ist professionell und freundlich

Hier gibt es feel good Küche aus aller Welt. Die fried chicken sind der Wahnsinn. Ich war schon zum dritten Mal hier und werde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Wirklich schönes, freundliches und durchaus leckeres Restaurant. Preislich leider im Verhältnis zur Qualität und Portionsgröße eher am oberen Ende der Skala. Ansonsten top!

My husband and I went there last week for dinner. The place itself is mid-sized floor with tables and an open kitchen, the lighting and interior is very cozy we order the the large fried chicken that we could have it in two different ways, so we ordered the Hot Nashville and the Cajun spiced. We also ordered the Classic poutine (since I miss it a lot) and my husband ordered Caesar fries, for the drinks we ordered Yuzu mint lemonade and guavaminze. First of all the chicken was really tasty, however, the Hot Nashville was very mild not as we imagined ( as spicy addicts) but we enjoyed it nevertheless it was tastier than Cajun spiced. The poutine was good, but do not go with expectations that it will taste like the authentic poutine the cheese curds didn’t taste like anything in my opinion and the gravy was ok. The drinks were really outstanding, that we ordered a next round after the meal. The drinks and cocktails menu is endless and I think they done excellent in that matter. Some you really have to keep in mind if you want to have dinner at Waya. First, it opens at 6 pm and you have to reserve before you go, otherwise you won’t be able to get a table. Also, if you are expecting American or Southern style fried chicken with bone-in and skin-on you will be disappointed, because the fried chicken is Asian Karaage style chicken, but again it makes sense given it is Fusion kitchen. Overall I recommend it if you are looking for a a cozy date spot or a small-group outing.

Young and cool place. The food ánd wine was surprisingly good. Although we had to wait a while for our food it worth it and the friendly service made up for it.

Delicious fried chicken and fusion sharing plates! They also have an extensive list of cocktails and drinks so it's definitely a nice place to hangout for a group. Favorite was the maple chicken poutine! Service was also really good so props to the waiter who was seeving us the whole night.

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend im Waya Kitchen. Das Essen ist sehr lecker, authentisch und teilweise modern interpretiert, was wir sehr interessant fanden. Das Servicepersonal vor und hinter dem Tresen ist nett und aufmerksam. Einzig das Sitzmobiliar ist meiner Meinung nach etwas zu leger / vintage gehalten. Es lädt nicht zum Langen verweilen ein... Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Small and cozy place with delicious food! The best fried chicken I had in a while. Lots of Canadian style dishes which was a pleasant surprise to find in Dusseldorf. Maybe a bit on the pricey side for the size of the dishes. I have to give props to the staff because they were really nice and polite. Would come again!

Einer meiner absoluten Lieblingsrestaurants in Düsseldorf. Gerade erst entdeckt und liebe die Stimmung, das Essen, die Leute. Gemütlichkeit trifft Grosstadtfeeling. Unbedingt Fried Chicken probieren!

Fried Chicken ist einfach genial, Favoriten sind chimichurri und Maple Style. Die dazu gereichten Gurkensticks sind eine Sache für sich. könnte ich mir als eigenständigen Starter auf der Karte vorstellen. Edamame sind ein muss bei jeder Bestellung. Auch die neue Karte überzeugt.

Waren Auf Empfehlung dort. Super leckere Nuggets und Pommes. Die Preise sind etwas hoch, aber dafür schmeckt es auch SEHR gut!

Vor Ort sehr angenehm, insbesondere bei warmen Temperaturen draußen. Beim ersten Besuch war ich enttäuscht aufgrund des Angebots und der Preise. Beim zweiten Besuch habe ich die Karte besser verstanden und war rundum zufrieden. Auch Bestellung über Lieferando war to. Extrem zuvorkommend. Mein Hinweis auf Allergie wurde aufgenommen und ich habe einen Rückruf erhalten, um gemeinsam zu besprechen, welche Alternativen ich bekommen könnte. Super freundliches Team. Hervorragendes Essen.

Cooler Laden. Kann man durchaus mal besuchen. Die Preise hier sind jedoch schon sportlich und eigentlich zu teuer für den Geschmack. Aber insgesamt ein solides Restaurant

Auf jeden Fall mal was anderes! Die Speisekarte ist kreativ und wird immer mal wieder erneuert, sodass man bei jedem Besuch etwas Neues ausprobieren kann. Die Zutaten werden super frisch zubereitet, das schmeckt man auf jeden Fall - habe hier bisher noch nicht gegessen was mit nicht geschmeckt hat!

Meine Frau und ich waren gestern Abend „zufällig“ in diesem gemütlichen Restaurant. Sehr leckeres Essen, sehr schöne Atmosphäre, sehr freundliche Servicekräfte und ein tolles japanisches Bier! Wir kommen wieder….! LG und DANKE für einen sehr schönen Moment
