Dear St. Valentin team Dear Thomas We have just arrived home after a great stay with you. We had a great evening - thank you very much for that! Reservation: Reserved a table by calling your restaurant manager Yve this afternoon. Great service and information about possible reservation of a sea bream👍..... which I also took advantage of. Arrived at the restaurant, was greeted by Yve and assigned our table. The drinks were taken quickly and served quickly. Ordering the food...... We were lucky and there was also a second sea bream available. An order: 2x sea bream with wild herb salad and baguette 2x pancakes with chanterelle cream sauce and two side salads. Salads were quickly brought to the table. The main courses were also served soon afterwards. We were very satisfied with all the dishes 👍👍👍👍 Everything was very tasty! Compliments to the kitchen General service...... Good team led by Yve On point, friendly, polite and very attentive... Well and now for you Thomas.... Restaurant in the middle of the forest with a very pleasant terrace in the event of a heatwave, friendly waitresses, varied and copious meals.

Great place and terrific pancakes. A star deduction because families with small children shouldn't be served last if they were there first - that relaxes everyone's nerves ;) Otherwise completely satisfied and definitely a recommendation. Thank you!

We had a lovely stay. The service at the table was great. We enjoyed the food and the ice cream with hot raspberries for dessert was also great. The drinks cooled us down again, because that was necessary after such a climb. Now some people ask themselves, why do you only give 3 stars when everything in the restaurant was fine? I have to mention this here because there is nothing about it on the restaurant's homepage. The parking situation is such that you are asked to park your car at the bottom of the street. When we got there around 5:45 p.m. everything was already parked. On the edge of the slope, sloping terrain. That leaves an uneasy feeling. Then comes the climb. Even Google can't help here, as it says this route is mostly flat. It's a steep climb. Now we have a person who is disabled but doesn't have a disability certificate, but we have taken into account people who are more severely disabled. Unfortunately not others. Some others ignored the clear sign. After 400 meters to the restaurant, we pass the parking lot for the "disabled". Here, young families with children get out of the vehicles, usually with local license plates on the SUV. That's no fun. Maybe we just have to be a little bolder or even more ruthless when the Paralympics are just starting on TV. One last sentence to St. Valentin, as great as it is with you, we won't be coming back for a while. You need to communicate this better. Or find a solution, perhaps with an e-shuttle.

Were here for the first time and are more than thrilled. Staff super friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself is beautifully lit in the evenings and creates a great atmosphere. The steak couldn't have been better. Medium-rare was perfect and the cheese spaetzle was also great. We will definitely come back when we are in Freiburg again.

The approximately 400-minute walk from the parking lot to the restaurant is well worth it. The food is very tasty. Price-performance is great. Very moderate prices for what you get. Definitely worth a visit.

Very tasty food. I would describe the prices as cheap. The staff was very nice. The atmosphere outside is something. You can enjoy spending the evening with friends there. Rather old-fashioned and uncomfortable inside.

Beautiful outdoor restaurant area. We were there twice in August. It was always well attended, but the service was quick and very friendly, the food was great, and the salad dressings were also good - highly recommended - ordering in advance is important.

We arrived without a reservation thanks to Tripadvisor reviews and without a doubt we are going to come. They welcomed us very well and despite it being peak dinner time, they offered us a table super quickly (it is worth clarifying that there were only 2 of us). The food is very delicious, top quality, you have something for all tastes, even if you are vegetarian. The attention is excellent!! If you have time don't miss it!!!

The place is worth it because of how beautiful it is. But the food is also very good and then there is Yves (I doubt if he was the owner or manager) who speaks perfect Spanish and has brilliant attention. Attentive to any questions and provides suggestions that help you a lot. We aim to repeat it at some point during this trip and above all to recommend it.

TOP restaurant/bistro/beer garden! Made the detour here from the A5 (and luckily reserved it by phone in advance). Very professional team - polite, courteous and on the ball! (with good time management) Cheese spaetzle with a salad, which alone would have justified 5-8 euros, for just under 11 euros, freshly baked schnitzel with fries for 13 euros. Everything was great! Certainly rustic in the rooms even in winter/in bad weather! Gladly again! P.S.: And the short ascent and descent whet your appetite, or rather are a short digestive walk. ;)

We come here to eat every year on vacation. Every time I find something new on the menu that I want to try. The changing daily menu makes you want to come back again and again.

Het ligt in een prachtig gebied. Houdt er rekening mee dat je een heel eind omhoog moet lopen vanaf de parkeerplaats. Er zijn slechts een paar parkeerplaatsen nabij het restaurant voor gehandicapten of mensen die slecht ter been.zijn. De porties zijn groot en de snitzel hebben ons na een lange reisdag heerlijk gesmaakt. Zeker een aanrader om Het terras of restaurant eens uit te proberen

Great restaurant in the middle of the Freiburg forest. Nice location and nice terrace. We ordered the Alsatian salad, a traditional pancake and cut of Argentine meat with delicious chips and special butter. All very very rich and forceful. The guy who helped us spoke Spanish well. He was very kind. The site is totally recommended even if it is far from the city.

What a nice place. Everything was tip top from the reservation, service, quality of the food and of course the weather :-) Don't forget the mosquito spray, but yesterday we were allowed to use the one from the restaurant. A big thank you to everyone.

Nos quedamos con las ganas de poder probar mas platos y hacer alguna ruta cerca. El camino repleto de vegetación para llegar hace que el lugar sea mas especial. Mucha gente llega andando. Merece la pena ir a este sitio si vas a friburgo!

Relaxed atmosphere and delicious food! We enjoyed a bike ride to St Valentin, lots of soft drinks, schnitzels and a pancake. Laughed at the word 'Tischverteilungsstation', probably a nice solution for busy days. The route given by Google Maps was a bit too steep and rough for the rental bike... perhaps worth mentioning on the website that you should not just follow it, but the paved route indicated on the signage. And in our corner some nettles had grown a little too far above the chairs - but we quickly remedied that :).

Wij kwamen voor de tweede keer. Fantastische locatie, midden in de bossen. Prima eten en grote porties voor een heel schappelijke prijs. Wij kozen dit keer voor snitzel met knoflook, en varkensvleesmedaillons in roomsaus. Prima kwaliteit vlees. Heel aardige bediening. Al met al een aanrader.

The salad was drowning in the sauce and the tarte flambée consisted of 1cm^3 thick, not good tasting and extremely tough Serrano ham cubes. My sister-in-law completely returned her salty and greasy plate. The normal tarte flambée was quite okay. Overall, I didn't think the quality of the food was good. The service, however, was super friendly!

Courteous staff from start to finish. After it was noticed that our table had not yet been served, the service manager came and immediately apologized and brought us champagne as compensation. Personally, we didn't think it was a bad thing that we had to wait a while, as it was very full. But his sincere nature impressed us. Food came super quickly and it was simply delicious. We will definitely come back and look forward to our next visit.

Eating the best of this kind I've ever had. Waiting times for food are completely acceptable. In general, I can only recommend a 10/10.

We've been wanting to eat there for a long time because of the good reviews. Unfortunately I can “only” give it 5 stars. I would like to give more because the food: Pasta Caserecce à la Chef was sensationally good. When I saw the fine steaks at the next table after placing my own order, I was skeptical as to whether I had made the right choice. I have to say that the pasta was definitely the right decision. It was really something special with a very good taste and a slight spiciness. Very nice and friendly service. The high ratings are deserved. Thank you for the great and good dinner!

Absolute recommendation. There were 5 of us there and everyone ordered something completely different - and everyone was really excited about what they were served. I personally had a garlic schnitzel - absolutely delicious. The staff was also super nice and everything ran like clockwork.

Best restaurant I've ever been to👍👍🏿👍🏽🫡🤗

Terrific! After I asked my work colleagues about their walking ability, I left the group in the dark about the fact that it took around 20 minutes to walk up the mountain from the tram (outside temperature was around 30 degrees Celsius) and that the blessing was seriously wrong when we arrived Waldrestaurant deserved all the sweat. An outstandingly good meal at ALL, the service was very good and really noticeably low prices! The colleagues raved so much about their steak fillet (Wednesday steak evening) that they almost wanted to go back there the following evening. We enjoyed sitting in the arbor and were one of the last to walk back into the valley at 10:15 p.m. We were even able to observe fireflies. A really exceptionally good evening!

Having hiked up and around Lorettoberg before dragging our weary bodies to St. Valentin did work up an appetite. Keeping that in mind, the mushroom pan and pork medallions with spätzle we had for lunch were pretty damn good. Even the last slope up the hill was charming as heck, as was the whole corner of Freiburg where the restaurant is located.

Large portions. Food the way you expect it. Nice and nice service. Excellent prices. Moreover, a nice ride to get there. Recommended!

I was a regular customer here for years and was up there almost weekly. Service and cuisine were always impeccable and the atmosphere in the beautiful location in the forest is great. We almost always combine Valentine's Day with a bike tour and it's the reward that you then arrive and can stop off there. There is also a lot for vegetarians. In the meantime I also started working in service. I can only recommend it because it's a lot of fun and you can take a look behind the scenes. Thanks to the new view, I'm not less excited, but rather more excited than ever before. I'm looking forward to working and stopping in several times next week.

I worked there as a student under Ms. Trenkle 40 years ago. I am pleased that the restaurant has been modernized but the old charm has remained. Pancakes and “spicy Paula” were also on the menu back then. Great work done by the team. It's great that the old barn is now also being used with its unique atmosphere.

Very nice location, unfortunately we probably made the bottle choice with the sausage salad with fried potatoes. Everything else we saw was normal to large portions only our choice came on a cake plate and was more of an appetizer. Tastes great, but definitely not enough after a long bike ride. Just under €12 was not appropriate for that. For the same or a little less there would have been a huge portion of cheese spaetzle with salad. Unfortunately, you don't know this in advance.

The St. Valentin impresses with its wonderful location, excellent food and very good service. The food is very good and there is a good selection, so there is something for every taste. Highly recommended location with a unique atmosphere. Fairy lights, torches and fire bowl. We were in a large group in the adjacent arbor. This was wonderfully warm despite the cold weather. The staff very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, the meat was very well fried and the accompanying sauce was incredibly tasty. So all in all, highly recommended. 5 out of 5 stars.
