Stylishly furnished bistro with a large bar. The menu has a not too large but varied and fine selection of food and drinks. The mocktails were very good, the food was also very tasty. Children's portions of the dishes were also available upon request.

This restaurant serves quality food and a very special apple sparkling wine, which may taste light but is actually quite a strong wine. I ordered an octopus salad, nicely made with fresh salad and well balanced salsa dressing. The octopus tentacles were tender and grilled to its best. I ordered a medium-rare beef steak but it came medium. However, it was ok because it was quite juicy.

When the weather is mild and sunny, it's nice to sit outside.

Stopped in spontaneously on a Saturday lunchtime and found space for 8! People received because the service went out of its way to look after us. You don't get that often at a tourist hotspot these days. Good food at reasonable prices, very nice and attentive service, great wine recommendations. Gladly again at any time and a clear recommendation.

Food was alright. Location/atmosphere are both great. Really nice place to have a drink and/or meal outside when the weather's nice. Staff couldn't handle the amount of customers, so we've had to wait quite long to be able to get their attention each time we wanted to order something.

We wanted to hold a small celebration at Walderdorffs. But since we never received all the information about prices and the process, we had to ask several times. This was obviously too much for our contact person, so we were canceled for flimsy reasons, even though everything was already clear. Then we didn't get any more feedback. Very unprofessional and not recommended!

We celebrated our son's wedding here. It was a completely successful celebration! The processes were perfectly organized, with excellent time management and adaptation to individual wishes. Extremely child-friendly and open to personalizing the party! We can highly recommend the bistro as a venue for celebrations!

I have a bad memory of this place. The food I ordered was not good, the waitress had a bad attitude towards the customer and the price for a glass of wine was out of space. The only plus was the view of the historic cathedral. I want to forget about this place as soon as possible.

Von der ersten bis zur letzten Minute war unser Besuch in diesem Restaurant ein wahrer Genuss. Das Ambiente ist gemütlich und stilvoll, mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Schon beim Betreten des Restaurants spürt man die herzliche Gastfreundschaft, die den gesamten Abend über anhält. Das Essen war absolut hervorragend! Jede Speise, die wir probierten, war frisch zubereitet und unglaublich geschmackvoll. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die kreative Präsentation der Gerichte, die ein wahrer Augenschmaus ist. Der Koch versteht es meisterhaft, traditionelle Aromen mit modernen Einflüssen zu kombinieren und dabei die Qualität der Zutaten in den Vordergrund zu stellen. Der Service war ebenfalls erstklassig. Das Personal ist aufmerksam, ohne aufdringlich zu sein, und beantwortete all unsere Fragen mit einem Lächeln. Wir fühlten uns rundum gut aufgehoben und bestens betreut. Alles in allem war unser Besuch ein rundum gelungenes Erlebnis, das wir jedem nur wärmstens empfehlen können. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Super Stimmung, nettes Personal und angenehmes ambiente. Sei es der Kellner, die Barkeeper oder sonstiges Personal, alle sind freundlich und respektvoll mit uns umgegangen, obwohl wir eine sehr große Gruppe waren.

Liebes Walderdorffs Wir hatten das große Vergnügen, gestern im Waldersdorffs in Trier an einer Hochzeit teilzunehmen. Was soll ich sagen? Es war einfach fantastisch! Die Location ist wunderschön und bietet den perfekten Rahmen für eine Hochzeit. Das Essen war von höchster Qualität, jede Speise ein Genuss. Besonders beeindruckt hat uns, wie perfekt die einzelnen Gänge zeitlich aufeinander abgestimmt waren – nie zu schnell, nie zu langsam. Die Getränkeauswahl war ebenso hervorragend, und der Service ließ keine Wünsche offen. Das Team war aufmerksam, freundlich und immer zur richtigen Zeit zur Stelle. Wir können das Waldersdorffs wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Es war ein perfekter Tag, vielen Dank dafür!

Es hat leider nicht geschmeckt, und die Wartezeiten waren sehr lange. Man musste immer wider um die Bestellung bzw. die Rechnung bitten.

Das Walderdorffs werden wir in bester Erinnerung behalten. Das Essen, die Getränke, der Service... einfach top! Besonders gefreut hat uns, dass unsere ergänzende Bitte, die wir in der Reservierung über Open Table gesendet hatten, so liebevoll umgesetzt wurde.

The food was very tasty (poultry ragout) and the homemade strawberry and elderberry lemonade was a relief from all the wine, cocktails and soft drinks. Terrace is located on a quiet square with a view of the Cathedral. Beautiful place.

The scampi was like rubber without much garlic...and he didn't see Pernod either 😞 The corn poularde was definitely normal 🐔 chicken..... there were no glazed carrots., Instead, frozen vegetables, peas, carrots, celery, kohlrabi in an unseasoned white sauce. 😞 underground. Simply serve what is on the menu and what was ordered, that is expected. Expectations not met.

Walderdorffs is a nice and cosy place with a perfect patio in the midst of a historical ambience. The staff are extremely friendly and courteous. Could be a slightly quicker. 😉 Overall, a perfect place to enjoy your afternoon. Starting with a delicious dinner and perhaps ending by a decent house music also inside the club. Highly recommended.

For €8 you get a champagne cocktail. Of course, the card didn't say that it only contained 100ml.

Visited this place in January 2024. The restaurant's interior is inviting and pleasant. The service was somewhat nonchalant, however, and the Schnitzel was distinctly average.

During our stay in Trier we recently had the pleasure of dining at Walderdorffs and were completely thrilled. The food was excellent - every dish was freshly prepared and tasted simply fantastic. The service was equally impressive: the staff were attentive, friendly and made us feel very welcome. The location of the restaurant is also ideal, with beautiful surroundings and a direct view of the cathedral. Overall, a wonderful experience that we can recommend to everyone!

We wanted a simple diner to celebrate my wife's birthday and to have a relaxing night. In turns out to be a very big dissapointment. It took them 1.5 hours to serve the main courses. The food is good, however the service is really bad. We will not go back unless they improve their service.

My sister was stung by a wasp. So the staff came with ice and care for the wound. Very nice staff. Good surroundings and good prices and good food.😀😀😀

What's great is... just the view of the cathedral. Otherwise.... the bistro is so good that everyone runs there.. 😉 Tapas average but expensive. Even outside, extremely loud. After a sunny day, I can understand the lack of service.

The price-performance ratio is absolutely right! The location directly opposite Trier Cathedral would suggest that the prices in the restaurant would be correspondingly high. However, that's not really true. The prices felt no more expensive than anywhere else in a city restaurant. The meals were very tasty and freshly prepared. The portions were large, well-balanced in taste and filling. Unfortunately, our spontaneous visit meant we couldn't get a seat on the terrace, but this did give us the opportunity to admire the cozy and exclusive ambience inside the restaurant. We were traveling with our little son. The staff was very accommodating, nice and child-friendly. There are some vegetarian and vegan dishes on the menu, which we also tried. All were very good, although the vegan curry would be highly recommended.👌 The drinks menu also includes very good regional and foreign wines, although I would personally absolutely recommend the Primitivo because it is super aromatic!👍 It's worth a visit ✌️

Bad service! When we made the reservation on the phone it was very friendly, but upon arrival our reservation (for 7 people!) was canceled for inexplicable reasons without any consultation. Very disappointing, as it's not that easy to find such a large table without a reservation at 6:30 p.m. on a Sunday evening in Trier. I wü I wouldn't go there anymore.

Sitting outside directly in front of the cathedral is possible with heating columns and blankets on cold days. Very nice. Two halls inside so enough space here too. The restaurant is never really overcrowded, and the atmosphere and service are good. Since the restaurant is also a bar, it is open until late at night so you can sit comfortably for a long time after your meal.

Fresh and high quality ingredients. You definitely get something for your money. Went back in the evening for a few cocktails, which were very tasty. The atmosphere was relaxed and the DJ was a hit!!! In summer you can sit on the beautiful sun terrace with historical surroundings. The Walderdorffs is worth a visit. Service and food with the location meant we ate here twice in 24 hours during our trip to Trier - tapas menu and main menu. Proper loved every minute of the experience, particularly the Salmon with Rosti.

Visited for cafe purpose. I was able to enjoy a relaxing cup of coffee at an outside seat right in front of the church. The summer-only frappe was delicious with sweet iced coffee.

Bistro Waldersdorff, located in the picturesque city of Trier, certainly offers an inviting ambiance and a menu that won’t break the bank. However, given its lofty top 10 ranking on TripAdvisor, my visit left me feeling that it's somewhat overrated. I started my meal with a Strawberry Colada, and unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the spot. The alcohol was too pronounced, overpowering the fruity flavors that should have been front and center. On the flip side, their homemade iced tea was a pleasant surprise—refreshing, well-balanced, and just what I needed. For dessert, I decided to try the Bienenstich (Bee Sting) cake. It was okay—sweet and decent, but nothing to get excited about. It lacked the depth and richness I usually look for in this classic treat. The highlight of my meal was definitely the Fish and Chips. The fish was cooked to perfection with a crispy, golden batter and tender, flaky meat inside. The chips were also nicely done, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was a comforting and satisfying dish that showed the kitchen's strengths. In summary, Bistro Waldersdorff offers good prices and a cozy atmosphere, but it doesn’t quite live up to its top 10 billing on TripAdvisor. It’s a decent place for a casual meal, especially if you stick to their solid options like the Fish and Chips and skip the cocktails in favor of their delightful iced tea.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und das Essen schmeckte sehr gut. Die Auswahl der Gerichte ist umfangreich und es gibt für jede/jeden etwas Leckeres. Auch die Weinauswahl ist hervorragend. Um 21:30 Uhr fing allerdings ein DJ an die Musik aufzulegen und es war so laut, dass man sich nicht mehr unterhalten konnte. Wir sind deswegen nach Hause gegangen, obwohl wir gerne noch etwas getrunken hätten.

We had a table for 4 Persons in Walderdorffs Restaurant and were very satisfied.

Very disappointing. The supposedly homemade lemonade tastes like stale water with a splash of syrup, the tortilla is tiny, dry, served with mayonnaise that pretends to be aioli. The bread that went with it never reached my table. Really bad.

On the terrace you have a great view on the Dom. The soup and asparagus were good good. The ham a bit hard and dry on the outside.

Our waiter was excellent. He came to our table several times to make sure all was ok. Food was very good, the steak was excellent but the asparagus was very soft and was cooked with a little too much lemon juice. Price was high, 78.30€ for 2 main courses, one coke and one beer. Overall an enjoyable evening.
