Rhenania in Trier

On February 7th The bowling alley is reserved for April 30, 2025. Once there, it quickly became apparent that there was a double booking. The owner immediately acted up by saying, “We don’t make mistakes.” FYI: my reservation back then was written on a beer mat. We didn't have a chance to clarify the matter normally, we were then expelled from the house even though we suggested leaving the bowling alley to guests with children and just staying to eat. This too was aggressively rejected by the owner. It's a shame, I've enjoyed being there often and that was definitely the last time. As a tip, when you reserve the bowling alley, have a receipt issued.

An all-round successful meal in a cozy, traditional atmosphere! As a starter there was French onion soup - wonderfully spicy, gratinated with melted cheese and served really hot. For the main course I had a Cordon Bleu, which was prepared to perfection: crispy and golden brown on the outside, tender on the inside with a delicious cheese and ham filling. There were also fries and a fresh side salad with a very tasty dressing - all lovingly prepared. The service was friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was rustic and inviting – just the thing for a relaxed evening. I'll definitely be back!

The ambience is a bit old-fashioned and rustic, but the excellent food makes up for it!!! The portions are very large, the side salad is very large. The meat (schnitzel, blue cordon & fillet) were bomb!!! We will definitely eat there again and recommend it to others with a clear conscience!!!

Ate there yesterday. And I have to say that it was the BEST Cordon Bleu I have ever eaten. We will definitely come back!!!!

We were here again after years... the food is good... the steak was very good and large. The pepper sauce was ok, as it was very cognac-heavy... the side salads were large and good... the staff was very friendly Update 2024 Unfortunately today it wasn't so good anymore... the salad dressing was extremely sweet! It's a shame because the salad itself would have been great if the dressing hadn't ruined it... the portions are large but everything tasted just "okay" today...

03/23/24: Another good meal in a pleasant atmosphere. The service, as always, was very nice and always had a smile and a good word to say. Repeat factor: 100/100 Very nice service in a somewhat dated atmosphere, but the food (rump steak) is very good and professionally prepared. The side dishes were fresh and the fries couldn't be better. We are already looking forward to the next visit. There are plenty of parking spaces without having to take long walks (although after the generously portioned food that might not be such a bad thing 😉). Therefore, warmest recommendation and 5/5 stars.

Above-average portions and good value for money. I've never had a bad meal there. I can especially recommend the schnitzel and the cordon bleu. The service is friendly and the place is clean. I always enjoy eating here. If the weather is good you can also sit outside.

We ate here today with 4 people. The side salad is larger than average and the honey mustard dressing is very tasty. We had 4 different schnitzel dishes, all of which were very appetizing, and the portions were very large. The service is very friendly and quick. We waited at most 30 minutes for our food. We can recommend this restaurant without hesitation, we will definitely come here again on our next visit to Trier 👍

Food was great, but the waiting time was 1 hour and 20 minutes, which we never had to wait before. Unfortunately, the landlord didn't apologize, not even a goodbye statement. Next time we'll get a schnapps from Mr. Toni. That was the last time we were their guests. Apparently they already have enough money Well deserved, good service, but the landlord doesn't work at all

Waited 90 minutes for my food, absolute impudence! Afterwards there wasn't even an apology gesture, the waitress just said maybe next time! I and my 6 observers can't think of anything else...

Hallo, wir waren 4 Personen und haben unterschiedliche Essen gewählt. Getränke wurden sofort und freundlich serviert und die Bestellung für das Essen aufgenommen. 35 Minuten Wartezeit bei voll besetztem Lokal war noch relativ wenig. Preise für Essen und Getränke in Ordnung. Alles in allem gemütlich. Wir werden das Lokal wieder aufsuchen.

Das Steak war einfach nur gut 👍

Der Service war sehr gut, schnell, freundlich aufmerksam. Den Salat fand ich frisch und lecker, auch wenn die Souce etwas süüss war. Was gar nicht ging, war die sogenannte Paella. Das war eine Fischpfanne ca. 5 cm hoch im einer Teflon Pfanne mit klebrigem Reis und TK Beilagen. Wenn man Fischpfanne gerne isst, ok. jedoch mit einer Paella im spanischen Sinn hatte das nichts zu tun. Das war früher ganz anders. WErde das nächste mal sicher etwas anderes bestellen.

Wir gehen da gefühlt seit 100 Jahren hin. Die Rhenania ist alteingesessen, eine Mattheiser Wirtschaft mit ordentlichem Essen. Null Ambiente, aber alle gehen hin. Das hat was! Klasse auch: Die Portionen sind groß und man kann gut gesättigt wieder seiner Wege ziehen.

Super Essen! Schaschlik, besser geht nicht und zur Vorspeise frittierte Sardinen, klasse.

Leider haben wir es eine ganze Weile nicht geschafft und hatten nun Glück am Sonntag einen Tisch im Rhenania zu bekommen. Trotz der neuen 2G + Regel war es ein schöner Abend. Das Personal wie immer nett und sehr aufmerksam. Das Essen einfach nur lecker. Wir kochen selber viel und gehen auch gerne essen. Das ein oder andere "IN" Restaurant in Trier haben wir schon getestet, aber bisher konnte keines mit der Küche des Rhenania mithalten.

War ein gelungener Abend. Ein Kompliment an die Küche
