Gasthaus Schütz in Trier

No visit to Trier without a cozy evening at Schütz. The chicken: unbeatable🐓! Plus fries, salad and Viezporz. Splendid. Good luck to the operators for the future 🍀 and to us many nice evenings with lovely people at the Gasthaus Schütz 🏹.

Price/performance still ok. Unfortunately it's no longer the same inn as it used to be, when the old landlord Schütz was still there.

It's notable that three people behind the counter didn't greet any of us (7 people) upon entering. We greeted everyone in a friendly manner - my companion even said hello a second time because she thought we had been ignored. Unfortunately, it seemed to be more of a deliberate act of ignoring. Temporary stress can hardly explain this. What should be highlighted positively is that larger groups can also be accommodated without any problems. However, the interior seems a bit old. This is generally not a problem, but defective lampshades should be replaced over time. As for the food, most of us had different chicken dishes. The meat was good, the fries less so. The dips served with it were plentiful, but the taste was only average. Overall, there is still room for improvement here.

Back at Schütz after a long time. As always, the chicken was delicious and the service was attentive and very friendly. Only the lady behind the counter, very unfriendly. No hellos and no goodbyes. Being a little friendlier doesn't hurt. That's why the service only gets 2 stars, it deserves 5 stars.

The restaurant was full. The service employee was stressed and very unfriendly. Unfortunately the food always came at intervals. Only half of the main course, where the fried potatoes and side dishes should come. Then came the fries, 5 minutes later the fried potatoes. When we had finished with what was available, the waiter wanted to clear it away, even though the tiles were still missing. There was no apology. The food was okay, but didn't inspire us. We won't come again.

The food was great! But not only did you have to wait an incredibly long time for the bill with small children, it was no different when it came to eating! Among other things, we were repeatedly charged for something that we didn't even have. When we complained, it was removed but then we were charged again for something we didn't have and the whole process happened three times! Heiland... So always check the bill! The prices were also very exorbitant! Despite everything, the food was really tasty! Parking situation as always, terrible!

Very quaint and cozy, with a rustic, local flair. The food was very tasty and plentiful, the waiting time wasn't long, even though the restaurant was very busy.

Previously absolutely great... Horrible today, the chicken was undercooked, bloody on the inside... overpriced, a side salad for 5.50 euros is ridiculous... the parking situation was horrible as before, the service was subpar... The positive thing was that when we complained about the chicken, we got an apology, a 5 euro discount and a 5 euro voucher for the next visit. But because of this experience, it was our last visit there...

Pre-ordering online via the website is great. We placed a large order for lunch and the food was delicious and arrived super on time. I will definitely recommend and repeat. Thank you Gasthaus Schütz.

We were actually always very satisfied, but on our last visit the service really left a lot to be desired. But since the food is really delicious, we will definitely give the restaurant another chance and hope that this was an exception!

Best half chicken ever! It's a shame, and not necessarily customer-oriented, that you have to pay 60 cents extra for a slice of bread.

Everything was better From the service to the food

The rooster was better, the service was quicker and “funnier”. The ambience is still 70s to 80s...

I'm very disappointed. At the moment we only eat in the beer garden. The service came 3 times in 5 minutes to order. You have to read the menu first. Salad 👎 rotten leaves found. COMPLAINT (not even an apology) new salad not ok again. Dressing tasteless. Gypsy schnitzel breading not fried in places. I found the sauce to be too thin. You could still do something about the taste. You could eat fries. SHAME

As always, tip-top, best chicken in town! Unfortunately it took a while this time, but it was also very crowded.

Delicious food, attentive service

So the view is wonderful, but the service leaves a lot to be desired in terms of friendliness. From the greeting to the ordering of the food to the payment process, annoyed to the stubby answers. P.s. If you want to have the rest packed up you will be thrown a bag 😉

I picked up an order and had to wait 15 minutes, so a star deduction, but otherwise everything was great!

Super nice welcome and great service, even without a reservation. The food is simply sensational. Can only be recommended.

Super tasty rump steak with onions/pepper cream sauce. Service was very nice and friendly. Luckily we got another cookie, be sure to reserve in advance.

Came in around 7:00, excited to try the chicken. The place was about a quarter full. Ordered a beer and the chicken. 90 minutes late. The place is full of people. ALL EATING CHICKEN. And i still haven't gotten mine yet. I starting asking the server around 8:00 where my chicken was, and she said it would be out in four minutes. Then ten minutes when asked a second time. Then another ten minutes when asked the third time. But then a new crowd was in, and they were all eating the chicken. Finally, around 8:30, I had to leave. All I can say is, wow.

The problem is the parking situation in the evening and therefore uninteresting for me

Ordered here for the first time via Lieferando and I have to say in advance it's not easy to find something that's reasonably high quality... But you've come to the right place here. From ordering to delivery simply great!!! Very friendly and personable driver!!! The food arrived hot! ! KEEP IT UP!

Home-style cuisine. The specialty is the chicken. This time the drink replenishment also worked.

Unfortunately, our most recent visit leads me to this review. The unfriendliness of the landlady - which we had never seen on our previous dozens of visits - cannot be beaten. From the greeting, to taking the order, to saying goodbye, the behavior ran like a common thread. Above all, we will give her a new chance, but if the impression is repeated and confirmed, it will be the last time.

Everything perfect. Cozy, rustic atmosphere. Staff very attentive and friendly. Eat very tasty home cooking. The small drawback is the search for a parking space.

On Sunday evening, the three of us came to dinner at Schütz's really hungry. It took 45 minutes until we got our fillets and thighs. Strangely enough, the guests who ordered after us were served faster. Salad was soggy, fries were so salty and seasoned too much and fried completely black and only tasted of salt. Fried potatoes definitely from the day before and also black and dry. At some point it was very tasty at Schütz, but this time it was just bad. Don't come anymore.

All is well with the world here. Good home-style food. Fast, friendly service. Fair prices.

Keine Kohlensäure in den Getränken, ungenießbares Bier, schmeckt schal und abgestanden. Trotz Reklamation voll verrechnet. Abzocke!

Im ersten Moment war geschockt, von aussen machte es kein guten Eindruck. Aber wurden sehr nett empfangen und -die Zimmer sind super sauber und ausreichend. Preis Leistung Top. -Ein Ambiente gibt es nicht, keine Bilder ein kalter Flur kahle Wände wem das wichtig ist 🤷‍♂️ -Frühstück ausreichend, Kaffee durch günstige Thermoskannen leider immer oft kalt, frische Dinge nur Tomate Gurke, kein Saison Gemüse, kein Obst, Obstsalat . Das hat mir -wie auch möglichkeit auf warmes Rühr/Spigelei-sehr gefehlt. GANZ viele Minus Punkte war alles in kleinen Plastik Verpackungen, haben für ein Frühstück sooo viel Müll verursacht geschweige das Bio und Plastik Müll getrennt wurden. - Service mmhh ob es immer so ist keine ahnung, aber die Männer , sei es Frühstück oder Gast Wirtschaft waren super freundlich, die Damen genau das Gegenteil. Dachte vielleicht bin ich schuld :) Ging wohl nicht nur mir so. AUSNAHME Putzfrau & Rezeption ..besonderes Putzfrau top!!!! - Das Essen im Gasthaus Schütz ist absolut zu empfehlen, Fritteuse Hähnchen nicht so meins aber die Fleisch Gerichte, Suppen Salate sehr legga und sehr schnell fertig. Hotel Gasthaus Schütz Alles im einem Preis Leistung super, noch bissel an Nachhaltigkeit & Müll arbeiten.

Wir waren mit mehreren Personen dort, hatten einen schönen Abend bei gutem Essen und einem super Service. Gerne wieder!

Leider war der Biergarten schon geschlossen. Größere Auswahl von Essen, erst nach 17 Uhr. Hähnchen waren gut, aber nichts besonderes.

Super Essen in urigem Ambiente. Das Schnitzel war klasse, Bratkartoffeln und Beilagensalat top. Service super freundlich und humorvoll! 5/5!

War schon 2 Jahre nicht mehr dort..Essen immer noch gut, aber Karte hat sich wesentlich verkleinert..Parkplatzsituation ortsbedingt äusserst diffizil... Das Interieur hat sich nicht verändert und könnte ein Makeup vertragen...aber dann würde auch ein Teil dieser schon sozusagen Institution verlorengehen.

Een plaatselijk echt Duitse Stubbe waar je grote borden goed vers eten krijgt tegen een hele redelijke prijs. De inrichting is oud Duits. De bediening is zeer vriendelijk 🤗 en het is een eetgelegenheid voor de omgeving. Iedereen bestelde halve haantjes 🐓 kip. De koffie is goed. Verwacht geen romantisch 💕 restaurant. Het is eten en weg. Een leuke ervaring en onwijs betaalbaar.

Lokal wirkt sehr düster durch sehr alte Ausstattung, eine Renovierung würde sicher nicht schaden. Sehr lange Wartezeit, bis wir überhaupt bedient wurden, Service nicht wirklich freundlich sondern eher lustlos. Schade, denn das halbe Hähnchen mit Pommes und Salat war eigentlich lecker und die Preise vollkommen okay.

Wir waren mit der Gruppe im Biergarten auf der Terrasse, nicht mehr wie in vorherigen Rezession en beschrieben per Telefon bestellen:-).Der Inhaber ist sehr bemüht um Service und Gäste und das Servicepersonal ist sehr freundlich. Die Getränke und das Essen müssen direkt an der Kasse im Küchenhaus auf der Terrasse selbst bestellt und direkt bezahlt werden. Das funktioniert ohne Probleme und man bekommt einen Piper mit einer Nummer wenn es das Essen fertig ist piepst es am Platz. Getränke nimmt man sofort selbst mit. Keine Lange Wartezeiten. Urlaubsfeeling ist dort aufgekommen. Die Preise waren normal, dass Essen würde durchweg als gut bewertet. Die Kaffeemaschine macht einen kleinen Latte machiatto, was sicherlich den Kaffee Kennern nicht den Vorstellungen entspricht, würde aber seitens Servicepersonal sehr freundlich und professionell gelöst, kommt vom modell der Kaffeemaschine. Die Sitze waren modern aber noch ohne Kissen, was dem ein oder anderen störte. Um 2145 wurde zugemacht, Vorgabe von der Stadt, ist aber normal bei Biergärten direkt in Wohngegenden. Der Biergarten war gut besucht, Toiletten waren sauber. Parken mit dem Auto ,in der Umgebung gibt es immer wieder freie Parkflächen, einfach schauen und ggf ein paar Minuten gehen, da es vor Ort etwas eng von der Straße ist. Fazit , gutes und bezahlbares Essen und Getränke selbst abholen und bezahlen funktioniert mit grossen Gruppen sehr gut , spart fehlendes Servicepersonal und sorgt dafür daß es trotzdem läuft. Kommen gerne wieder

Das Wirtshaus Schütz hat seinen Reiz und glücklicherweise auch seine Qualität über die Jahre hinweg bewahrt. Ich erinnere mich noch daran, wie ich als kleiner Junge dort Hühnchen für ungefähr 5 Mark gekauft habe, oder an die Zeiten, als ich mit meinen Eltern dort war und wir gemeinsam die schmackhaften Hühnchen vor Ort verspeist haben. Schütz steht einfach für Tradition. Das Essen mag zwar nicht das gesündeste sein, aber für eine kleine Versuchung lohnt es sich definitiv.

Das Gasthaus Schütz hat seine Terrasse geöffnet seit Juni. Dafür 5 Sterne. Wirklich sehr schön für einen lauen Sommerabend. Man fühlt sich wie im Süden. Der Aufstieg ueber eine lange Treppe lohnt sich. Es gibt nur kalte Tapas in wertigen Pappschalen. Will man warm essen, muss man telefonisch bestellen, also quasi Lieferdienst mit Selbstabholung, dann seine Speisen (in Pappschalen) auf die Terrasse mitnehmen. Dort stehen dann Porzellanteller bereit. Wir haben die einzelnen Tapas probiert, bis auf den angeblich gegrillten Paprika alles ganz ordentlich.Ich wuerde für diese WIRKLICH tolle Terrasse vorschlagen, dass man darauf die besten Cocktails der Stadt trinken kann zu Preisen, die man auch bezahlen kann. Coktailparties mit Fingerfood. Für die Nutzung der Terrasse bleibt noch viel Luft nach oben. Service sehr freundlich. Unbedingt die vertrockneten Gewächse an der Front des Hauses zeitnah entfernen, macht keinen guten Eindruck. Wer Flieten und ähnliches gerne mag, ist unten im Restaurant gut aufgehoben.

Heel lekker gegeten, vriendelijke bediening.

Uriges, vielleicht ein bißchen in die Jahre gekommenes Restaurant, aber mit einer großen Auswahl an leckeren Speisen. Empfehlenswert für Leute die gerne Hähnchen etc. essen. Kommen beim nächsten Trier Besuch auf jeden Fall wieder vorbei.

Das Hähnchen war einfach unglaublich lecker, und der Salat war super frisch und lecker. Der Service war mega nett und zuvorkommend. Hier komme ich definitiv immer wieder gerne hin! Absolut empfehlenswert! 🍗🥗👌

Sehr gutes Restaurant - bürgerlich mit regionalen Produkten

Nach vielen Jahren waren wir endlich mal wieder hier und mussten leider feststellen, dass die Flieten immer noch super lecker sind. Was bedeutet, dass wir jetzt wieder regelmäßig hier hin müssen, obwohl die Anreise etwas weiter ist als früher. Aber der Weg lohnt sich. Das einzige was immer noch negativ auffällt ist die Parkplatzsuche... Für gehbehinderte sehr schlecht.

Montag und Dienstag geschlossen. Für Besuch besser Tisch reservieren.

Gasthaus mit Tradition. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Essen war sehr gut. Bedienung sehr freundlich. Die Einrichtung ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, hat aber seinen Charm. Alles in allem waren wir sehr zufrieden.

Vergangenen Samstag dort gewesen, sehr angenehmes Ambiente, nicht modern, Essen top, Bedienung Top und sehr nett, Preis Leistung Top. Am besten vorher Reservieren um sicher zu gehen einen Tisch zu bekommen
