The food tastes good, there is little to complain about. We were there with a larger group and the service was a disaster. Maybe it's because they can't handle large groups there. Nobody felt responsible for us. Food took forever. At 12:30 p.m. on a Sunday we ran out of bread, an absolute no-go for such an expensive breakfast restaurant. When the lady at the checkout suggested we go and get some rolls from a bakery in the area, I lost all faith.

Had to remove two stars from my last review, as I was there yesterday at 1:30 pm and they had run out of bread?!? My friends and I first of all could not understand how a brunch (!) restaurant runs out of bread (don’t you have some frozen for emergencies?) and why none of the staff just went and bought some at one of the bakeries around the corner. We had the impression the staff did not really seem to be bothered by this nor did they seem motivated to even try to find a solution… the food was delicious but breakfast food without bread felt very unsatisfying. I’m not sure if I will be back or would recommend this place. Very unfortunate! The brunch is excellent! Depending on which items you choose for your brunch, the food can obviously be more filling or a little lighter, but I definitely wouldn’t say portion sizes are too small. The prices are fair since they use good ingredients and every dish is special! My favourite is the fried cauliflower. We left feeling full, satisfied and happy 😌

Waited half an hour for a piece of quiche & cake even though the place was not so busy. The place looks nice & the food itself was good (better if it came warm) but the unacknowledged delay by the staff, cold coffee & quiche makes me give not more than 2 stars- sorry.

It was my previous review 5 stars! Now they started to save money, salmon is not having cottage cheese on side and the portions are smaller. Not worth it anymore. We left hungry 🙃 Previous: Friendly, tasty and nice!

Did a trial shift of 4 hours on a sunday, ACTIVELY SERVING FOOD, no break. And wanna know what? I wasn't paid. Plus they're serving food on heavily chipped plates. I really not recommend this place.

The food is tasty, but honestly nothing special. The place serves portions that are not up to my standard as an adult, e.g. I paid €4.50 for 2 mini-slices of bread, seriously? It's just bread and there's very little of it. Well, otherwise a good atmosphere, friendly staff. It's okay, it's just not good for my wallet.

We went there for a quick lunch today and had 4 dishes, the Thai sausage, the roasted cauliflower, the avocado and hummus, the pink grapefruit, a cheesecake, coffee and enjoyed every single bite. The food is delicious, the prices are incredibly fair, the staff are very friendly, the interior is lovely. I also took a quiche to go which was amazing as well. We left super happy and fulfilled, and can't wait to go back.

Great concept and nicely prepared food. It’s a bit on the more expensive side of things - expect to pay around 20€ just for food + drinks to leave with a full and happy belly. Overall nice place - the only thing that really bothered me was the 4.5€ I paid for two (!) slices of bread with butter. This is the word we live in now lol.

It's not about the quality nor about the quantity. For these prices, you need to do better. The grilled "cheese" (idk what that was) toast was so old and burnt, I was afraid I would break my teeth eating it.. the staff couldn't care less (I waited 20mins in almost empty cafe), but I believe the staff is always the reflection of the owner and their business mindset. The bathroom seems seriously unsanitary. Someone sold the idea to Berliners that it's cool to pay on average 20 eur for below average breakfast and coffee in the place the toilet seems to be cleaned once a month and they are here for it!

A good variety of items to choose from and the small plates allow you to sample most of them. Great staff. Great ambience. (The outside construction is not their fault). Lots of healthy choices.

We were there on Saturday around 12 p.m. The food is really delicious, but very little for the price. There were four of us and we had to wait about 1 hour. When you order you have to pay immediately, which makes the whole thing very impersonal. There is noise inside and it is very loud, which makes the atmosphere very uncomfortable.

Unfortunately there was a celebration, which is why it was very, very loud. We paid over €50 and it was a shame that we weren't told that...

Food was so fresh!! The beetroot cream cheese was divine and they were easily able to cater for gluten free

Honestly, it was nothing special. The service wasn’t great, which is normal for hip cafes in this area. While the food looked impressive and tasted alright, you can definitely find better options at other similar places. Also, those tiny dishes they serve the food in are more about looks than practicality. The cafe itself is pretty average too. I won't be returning.

Definitely the best breakfast place in town!!!! Normally, it was far from my hotel, and since it seemed like a long way, I was a little worried about my decision to come here. But I can say it's the best breakfast I've had in Europe.

A great brunch café with lots of small tapas. The service was friendly. I will gladly come again. However, a small point of criticism: We didn't manage to get our waffle in the end and I asked if we could have it packed. Unfortunately they said there is no packaging for it. I think that's a shame from a sustainable perspective. Maybe we could think about (sustainable) packaging material, preferably for a deposit or a small surcharge, etc. I would have preferred to pay a little more than see how the leftovers end up being thrown away :(

I had brunch here with my girlfriend and was very satisfied. An absolute gem in the Kreuzkölln breakfast scene. I'll be back.

The Venue is my favorite breakfast and brunch place in Berlin. The food meets the price/performance ratio in my opinion. It is prepared with love and the quality is first class! The staff is helpful and even when the store is full they keep a cool head. Hats off! My international friends also liked it incredibly much and even they recommend it to people who are on vacation in Berlin. Yes, what can I say, I always like to come back ✨

I got food poisoning after having a baked cheesecake here. Horrible experience. I hadn’t eaten anything else that morning, and I couldn’t eat anything afterward, so I’m certain it was the cheesecake.

Absolute recommendation! We were there for breakfast and had delicious food. Poached eggs really on point. Bread crispy and delicious. Pistachio croissants are my favorite. Very good coffee, one of the best in Berlin. We were truly blessed. In addition, a super well-coordinated and friendly team and a very nice owner. We'll definitely be back.

Overall, the food was very tasty. However, the avocado we received was stale, with brown spots. The staff offered a new portion. When I wasn't interested, I heard that they would pass it on to the chef and that's it. No apology or other proposal to resolve the situation.

Unfortunately not as great an experience as expected. The food wasn't bad at all. Nicely designed concept though Unfortunately the place is quite dingy. It smelled strange in there and wasn't very comfortable. Unfortunately the toilet floor looked bad in the morning. It was visibly wiped without water and you could see that the dirt was dragged back and forth and smeared. The staff who served us didn't speak any German and didn't care about the cleanliness of the place. We arrived very early shortly after the opening in the morning. Tables outside were dirty, probably from the day before. We went outside anyway because it was a bit too dark and uncomfortable inside. I asked to wipe the table. The cellar lady (dirty and loose hair) used an unsightly wipe after I asked her to wipe the table. While she was wiping the table, it wobbled so much that you would notice that it would be impossible to eat on this table if you didn't fix it with a coaster. Well, we then sat down at the next table because we already understood that the details of the service are not important here. Many of the plates were really tasty. Avocado, sausage, salmon, hummus, waffle, eggs.. were very tasty. Mushroom salad was not good. I didn't quite understand whether the dressing had gone bad or the mushrooms had gone bad, but I left it straight away. Beetroot is nothing special. Bread great, butter looks nice but not my personal taste. The special daily offer was particularly delicious. When I asked what it was and what was in the cream, I was just pointed to the piece of paper on which the description was written (without specifying the ingredients of the cream that I was interested in). It was only then that the winemaker looked into what was on offer today and started reading what the dish consisted of. She is so uninterested and unmotivated. Just (sorry) doff smiles are far from service. I then asked the chef. He was very nice and explained to me that it was the wild garlic cream. It's all a shame. Espresso not good. Giant tea bag served with a small tea cup is also strange. I would advise using a small jug as that is what a bag like this is intended for. The quality of the tea was good. Unfortunately there were no flowers for sale that I saw on Instagram but that's ok. Unfortunately we won't be coming back, but anyone who has low expectations of comfort, service and cleanliness can be happy here. Thank you anyway:)

Anything but a relaxed breakfast with friends - it's so loud in the back room that it's almost impossible to have a conversation at the large table. The tapas are delicious, but the portions are far too small. Bread is charged extra, unacceptable for the price. You first have to look for sugar, salt and pepper - unfortunately there was no comfort.

“Breakfast Tapas” as a concept with several small dishes. Perfect for sharing or with a (small) group - at some point the table gets tight... The bread from Albatross is great, the cauliflower is recommended & the in-house changing waffle is also great! Delicious coffee. Sunny to partially shaded places outside, otherwise spacious inside. Great for vegetarians, vegan is much more limited.

The people are cool and it's an absolute Berlin hipster spot, but I found it very expensive. I paid €30 for 4 small dishes (one was asparagus), coffee and mimosa and I was still really hungry afterwards. So if you want to be full, I wouldn't have brunch there. But for a relaxed vibe, you can go there. The waiting time on a Sunday was also okay.

I asked for a coffee here at half past four and was told that this wasn't possible... They close in half an hour. That's sad with three employees hanging around the counter busy with their cell phones.

While this self-service café has its charms, I found the food to be too expensive considering the taste and portion sizes. The place also tends to get very crowded and loud, which doesn’t make for a relaxing experience.

Super delicious food and perfect place to get a high quality breakfast. There are five of us with two small children Children ate and everyone got their money's worth. Breakfast comes as a kind of tapas, so everyone ticks what they want on a piece of paper beforehand. The food came quickly and generously and everyone was full. Is there anything specific to recommend? No, everything tastes so delicious. Is the food for those on a tight budget? No, it's not, but it's not overpriced either and the prices are absolutely justified. All in all, definitely recommended.

We were there for brunch and I have to say that it tasted really good. Unfortunately, the portions are manageable and the salmon is quite salty. The ambience is a matter of taste, very stuffy inside and the benches and tables shake outside. Conclusion: yes, I'd love to do it again, but not every week 😉

One of the best breakfast/brunch spots in Berlin!! Every single small dish was soo fresh and tasty, altogether the combination of everything was immaculate! Also you are very free to choose whatever you want so if you’re craving both sweet and savory breakfast, this is the place to go. The Venue on Weserstrasse is a fantastic brunch restaurant! The atmosphere is inviting, the staff is friendly and the brunch menu is varied and delicious. A perfect place to enjoy the weekend and be pampered.

Revisiting. Portions got smaller - a typical case of 2023/24 shrinkflation. Brunch for two can no longer appropriately feed two people, and this time, we left disappointed. Now we find it very overpriced for what it has to offer. Small note: please don’t call soft-boiled eggs poached eggs. Those are two very different things. I guess most customers don’t care, but they should when they pay these prices. The atmosphere is your typical Weserstr. One person on a Zoom call, two people studying and/or working to escape their WG, a group of tourists being super loud and taking 57 photos of their food, a bearded guy reading his book and rolling his eyes (that’s me, btw). Service is excellent! Respect for the people working there. If you’re the owner, pay them more! Nobody tips around here.

We were there last Saturday. As expected, with a bit of a wait. But it was okay and went pretty quickly. We were served very friendly and the food was great! A bit expensive, but absolutely justified for the quality. Even if we thought it wasn't enough at first, in the end we didn't even manage to do everything. All in all, a super nice and delicious brunch spot!

What one might call a nice hipster cafe, with nice service and and nice brunch options, all nice, but... not a single dish here is perfect, everything has a little need for improvement, and the smell of the kitchen is floating around the room. I'll certainly be back to check this place again in the future. I hope they will take a greater care of the small things that give a person a reason to become a regular customer

Great restaurant with lots of self-contained dishes. A little expensive but very tasty. I liked the avocado salad and the waffles with cherries the best... just super good!

I loved the idea of choosing 4 different items in the menu (15€ offer). It enables you to test different kind of food. Food was excellent, perfect quantity, service is super friendly. And cool atmosphere. Credit card accepted. Recommend it 100%.

This place has a menu concept 4 items for 15 and 8 for 29. it seems like most of the menu is regionally sourced from Berlin and the bread is fresh. While the plates are small they are enough to share between two people. The reason why I love this place is it’s the one place I can get really simple egg and toast for around 8 euro (you don’t have to get 4 items) Which isn’t cheap but is cheaper than a lot of places that charge 12 with the only difference being some salad leaves on the side. The service is really nice and easy going.

Generally, it is a beautiful and cozy place located in a vibrant part of Neukolln (with many food and drinks options). The food was definitely good but a bit overpriced; actually quite overpriced! Apart from that, it is a good option for either a coffee or to work on your laptop.

Das Essen war lecker. Den Stern Abzug gibt es für die total verpeilten Bedienungen. (2 Dinge vergessen, dann noch 2 mal Getränke für andere Tische zu uns gebracht.) Und für die lächerliche Menge Brot für Frühstück für 2 Personen (wohlgemerkt kosten extra) nämlich ganze 2 Scheiben. Mussten zweimal Brot nachbestellen damit es gereicht hat.

Very nice concept and interesting menu. We generally enjoyed ourselves and might come again on a less busy day since service was quite challenging. Dishes ranged from not to great to quite nice. Was here on a Sunday afternoon and service was a little challenging. Had a few forgotten coffee orders. Found the mix of “order and pay at the bar” + waiters coming by to take your order a little challenging to navigate. Once the crowd died down in late afternoon, things were much easier since the place was half empty by that point. Poached egg was completely cooked which was quite disappointing. Might be my first time receiving this in a restaurant.

I really liked this coffee spot! It's got that Berlin style with cool, artsy vibes and spacious seating both inside and out. The cappuccino was delicious, but I wish it was a tad hotter. The staff was nice, especially the lady. Ok the dude not so really, sorry! Give it a try!

We went here for late breakfast. You can select 4 items for each person. Portions were small but satisfying. I ordered currywurst but that was too salty for me. Cauliflower was so good and hot. I didn’t like the pistachio croissant, it was tasteless and not fresh.

Essen war ganz lecker - wir hatten das Frühstück mit den vielen Kleinigkeiten zum teilen. Absolut in Ordnung, aber vielleicht auch nicht den Hype wert. Die Atmosphäre ist ganz nett, aber typisch Neukölln - absichtlich herunterblätternde Tapete ist ja der neue Trend. Kaffee schmeckt leider gar nicht, nach Tomatensaft. Frischer O-Saft war aber super! Croissants Waren sehr lecker!

Das Restaurant ist zwar stilvoll und das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker aber die Portionen waren winzig. 30 Euro für zwei Personen und von 8 Portionen nicht satt werden ist schon absurd. Für 2,80 zwei kleine Scheiben Brot?!! Echt Leudde, dass kann eins doch nicht bringen! Dann noch extra Getränke bezahlen. Leckeres Essen kann nicht alles retten.

Das Frühstück gibt es in Form von Tapas zu einem super fairen Preis. Es war alles top bis auf den Schokokuchen. Der war leider etwas trocken. Das Ambiente ist ganz süß, aber auch super hellhörig leider.

Cute interior design, very open and chill. The food was tasty and great to share, you can choose from many small dishes and have a great variety breakfast or brunch. At first we thought the food wouldn't be enough due to the small portions but it definitely was. Great food, nothing extraordinary but all tasty. Would come back for sure and maybe hope for a little bigger slice of the buttery salmon. The staff is very kind! All in all a lovely experience.

As a cafe/ meeting place- really good. Designed beautifully. Space to have a chat, comfortable, servers are nice and quick, water is available. As a breakfast place- they should change concept/ chef. It’s basic breakfast elements like scrambled eggs , bread, or bratwurst, packed in small bowls and gussied up with microgreens, garnishes etc. They call it “brunch tapas” and charge accordingly. Kinda crazy, not good enough to justify the price.

So, if the food is expensive, the service should be good and the tables clean. None of which was the case recently. I was really enthusiastic about the place and recommended it to bunch of people, but in the meantime the Venue really went in the wrong direction. My recommendations: A) Do not tell your customers who want to pay: everyone has his/her place in a line. Use a more gentle tone. Or allow more staff members to collect the money. Or organise the work in a different way. Or train the staff to handle situations with a lot of customers and not be overwhelmed. B) Have the tables cleaned regularly. If sticky, it is a bit off-putting even for Berlin. C) Don't let the staff check on customers who are sitting alone during working days every few minutes creating an atmosphere that they are not welcomed in the Venue. Except if it is a part of the concept. D) You have a really cool design. Don't turn into yet another inconvenient place. Add a welcoming note to the Berliner Schnauze Style (which you were not before).

Saftige Preise, aber die ausgefallene Auswahl an verschiedenen kleinen Optionen, die man sich zum Frühstück zusammenstellen konnte, hat einen den Preis dann wieder etwas vergessen lassen. Was wir aber ziemlich daneben finden, dass einem 1 Scheibe Brot (für zwei Personen) gereicht wird. Nachbestellen kann man dieses Scheibe dann für 2,80€. Das ist frech und nicht mal mehr mit der hohen Inflation zu rechtfertigen. Was leider auch einen dicken Daumen runter verdient, dass ein Café wie dieses Aufpreis für Hafermilch nimmt. Geht gar nicht mehr heutzutage, das muss nicht sein! Bedienung ist aber super lieb gewesen :)
