44 Brekkie in Berlin

So...Saturday lunchtime, cup final in Berlin, it feels like everyone is here, but they say it's always busy. Long line but only a short wait, which was okay, the staff are really very attentive and pleasant. I hadn't experienced the ambiance inside; the outside was a bit worn, and everything was a bit wobbly. But that's probably hip, and no cause for complaint for my daughter. I spilled my coffee while cutting the bread, which was annoying. The food: brioche/bread/toast, whatever you call it, delicious, the sauce, delicious, the egg - okay, the salmon delicious, and the avocado ripe and good. All in all, good, only eaten sitting down, we initially considered taking it with us... What surprised me: everyone spoke English, very few German. Reminds me a bit of when French was spoken at court to distinguish themselves from the common people. I mean, German can be the standard language in Berlin, too. But that didn't detract from the service. Everything is great and recommended, as long as you don't have any figure problems :) Addendum: Cash only is no longer up-to-date

We had to wait 30 minutes for our drinks and over an hour for our food. The cappuccino was cold when it arrived. Unfortunately, I don't recommend it.

The coffee was really delicious and the service friendly – ​​both left a positive impression. The ambiance, however, wasn't my cup of tea: It seemed very improvised overall, the music was coming from a UE Boom, and the furniture resembled a youth hostel. I was disappointed with the food. I tried the highly praised eggdrop sandwich, but I couldn't understand the hype. The eggs were overcooked, dry, and completely unseasoned. The cheese sauce had an unpleasantly sweet flavor, which, combined with the eggs, just didn't go together. In conclusion: Nice service and good coffee, but neither the food nor the overall concept convinced me.

Every time we come to Berlin we stop by, it's a really fun place. The staff is Turkish, their breakfasts, especially their bread, are incredible. It's a bit unpleasant that they only accept cash, but keep that in mind before you come.

Extremely delicious and nice workers. My favorite place in Berlin. Everyone should come at least one time i will really miss here.

Need to update my review… great food, amazing service but now is cash only?? Seriously??? Absolutely delicious!! People super friendly, just bit slow the service. Mr egg is one of the best breakfasts I ever had and just around the corner :) Prices very reasonable, except for the orange juice come on guys, seriously?

The taste is amazing! You really have to try it. The price/performance ratio is absolutely fine in my opinion. Despite the busy store, we didn't have to wait long, and the service was very friendly. The only downside (for me) is that you can only pay with cash.

I love places like this. Managed to get there shortly after opening, before the crowd. Had a delicious brioche with bacon and cheddar, sipping coffee with a nice view of the street outside. Good food, good prices, nice atmosphere.

To put it simply, the Eggdrop Sandwich is a dream. Really very tasty and the best I've eaten so far. As a reference, I had a restaurant in Bielefeld and Frankfurt and the one from Brekki44 was by far the best. I can't say much about the waiting time, it went pretty quickly (on a Monday morning)

Wait times are super long, we waited 15 mins to be seated and another 45 mins to get our food. Staff is pretty uncoordinated and seems unable and unwilling to properly service customers. Food is very yummy but a bit pricey.

Honestly, this place is super overrated. Really don't recommend it. We waited long to sit, then we waited 30+ minutes for our food to arrive. The food was alright, but nothing special. Then, when we asked to pay, they told us they don't accept card, and pointed to a tiny sign on the door that says "cash only". Many people I saw pay were surprised by that. Is it even legal?

A bit busy place with noise but appears to be very popular. Good iced coffee! But ask for an extra shot of espresso if you like a lot of coffee flavor. Good brioche/egg drop but little avocado. Attention: cash only.

I was in the mood for a nice breakfast and found it at 44Brekkie. I had to wait a bit because the health department was carrying out an inspection, in the meantime we had a delicious flat white and a short time later the bacon double cheese garlic. I've never tried this before, but I was very surprised and it was super tasty. I can only recommend the shop, reservations are not possible and it gets very crowded shortly after it opens, so come early otherwise there won't be any space.

So the food and the atmosphere are great, the eggdrop was great, but the sandwich for €17 was totally overpriced. I think it's a shame that it's so expensive, so unfortunately the price-performance ratio doesn't match.

Friendly staff and Egg Drop Sandwich is delicious, probably the best in Berlin. Unfortunately the drinks are only serviceable.

A friend recommended the Berlin German Local Breakfast. Good food always requires patience. We brought a cute Swedish shepherd dog🐶. The waiter in the restaurant filled the water dish for the dog. The service was so considerate!

I wish I could give the place more stars, but the wait was too long for brunch. The drinks arrived quickly. The food was very good at first bite, but it was a little poorly distributed throughout the brioche bread. Too bad!

Brekkie combines a brioche bun with eggs and various accessories such as cheese and bacon, salmon and many other combinations. It is clearly homemade and fresh. Can be recommended for brunch together with the good coffee and possibly a mimosa (sparkling wine and orange juice) to set the mood. Only cash is taken and it is not exactly cheap. For 4 people, we paid just under 100 euros for a bun plus coffee and three mimosas.

Don't believe the hype. It's a sloppy sweat cheesy micture that will stay with the whole day. Too each his own, but not for me. Additionally the price point isn't worth it

I was at Brekkie 44 shortly after 10 a.m. on a Wednesday morning. There was enough space and I sat in a comfortable place outside. The service came quickly, as did my order - all the staff were super nice. On the menu there is “only” the Eggdrop Sandwich in different versions. Whether with meat, vegetarian or vegan - everyone will find something here. I had the eggdrop sandwich with avocado - it was incredibly tasty and totally worth it. The rhubarb-elderberry spritzer and the chai latte with oat milk were also delicious. If you love eggs for breakfast, you will love it here too. Note: Cash payment only.

A great breakfast, I had the eggs with avocado. The brioche bread was so tasty and the eggs cooked to perfection. BUT the thing that stole my heart was the brownie! The best brown I’ve ever had, melted in my mouth. Definitely recommend.

At a price of €12 for brioche toast with egg and bacon, the egg should be real egg and not whole egg from the package! Interior terribly uncomfortable but very nice staff.

Some friends and hotel staff recommended this place for brunch. The vibe was great with outdoor dining. It was quite busy, so service appeared to be abit chaotic. I enjoyed the food and liked the concept.

The sandwiches were tastier than expected - great! Coffee was delicious too! Nice area to sit outside in the sun but the tables and chairs were old and rickety. No card payment. Given the price and basically only one dish on the menu, you could expect more. Still recommended :)

The sandwich is okay, but nothing special. The brioche is very thickly sliced ​​and has a very strong flavor. Service was good until it came to paying, which is only possible in cash. After some annoyed eye-rolling, we were able to pay via PayPal. Our server was very friendly, though.

Delicious EggDrop Sandwiches. Things are a bit turbulent in the store. Quite an in and out, which is due to the hype. Unfortunately service only in English. I don't have to fully understand it. There was a very good egg drop sandwich here once. Unfortunately, the egg has turned from the actual creamy omelet into a watery scrambled egg, which no longer has anything to do with the original egg drop as it should be. Very disappointing. In addition, only cash payment is possible here, which is not even noted when ordering or on the card. I recommend going to another restaurant, there are plenty of better alternatives. This was my last visit.

We came to Berlin from Türkiye for 4 days and had our first breakfast here. Everything was incredibly delicious and beautiful, the staff were very caring and polite, everything was very sweet. Especially Ms. Iraz took great care of us and we thank her very much from here. This will be our first stop on our next visit to Berlin 🙏🏻❤️

45 minutes of wait for TWO SANDWICHES. the food was mediocre, really lacking a crunch, more sause would be nice, it is just dry and just blend. i don't understand the hype. please let your customers know in advance that they need to wait centuries to receive a simple bread with an egg and cheese. some people would appreciate this and find some other place that serves quicker :)

The food and ambience were alright, but the service was terrible. Took half an hour for the food to arrive, and the portion size did not justify the price.

Without saying much about it. Sandwiches are delicious, but the price is unjustified for the quantity, waiting time of 45min-1hour. You have to call service otherwise you will be forgotten. Sauce on the sandwich was very good, but we saved money there and on the egg. Okay to try but there are better breakfast options.

Very overhyped. I had to wait over 45 minutes for a small sandwich. The drinks also took 20 minutes to arrive and were already drunk before the food even arrived. My “homemade” ginger and elderberry lemonade didn’t taste like ginger, but it tasted very, very strongly like elderberry syrup. The eggdrop sandwich was okay, but you can definitely find better breakfast options for €12 in Berlin. In the end it was a brioch with avocado, ham and a large portion of (unsalted) scrambled eggs. Delicious original breakfast. The juice portion is very small for the money. It's worth trying, but not necessarily recommended for a second visit.

Delicious whether eaten on site or ordered. The brioche bread is incredibly fluffy, scrambled eggs are avocado and the sauce is a great trio! Eaten several times and the quality was always good!

Too much focus on presentation and not enough on implementation. The avocado double cheese garlic egg drop looked marvellous but didn't live up to its "egg"pectation (sorry, I had to :p) I ate at the restaurant itself and got the egg drop with the cheese not properly melted & just sat there on top as one blob. The eggs alone had no taste whatsoever. The garlic sauce was on one side of the brioche bread with the flavour lost in the brioche that absorbed it. Suggestion to use bigger plates as the eggs kept falling out onto the table. It always feels a bit chaotic there.. definitely could use more staff to accommodate the turnover. I genuinely appreciate that the staff is super friendly and diverse.

I wanted to try this sandwich trend and it was a nice experience. I ordered for delivery and it was a good surprise. I really appreciate the amount of eggs and sauce topping on the sandwich, however, it was complicated to enjoy it and find any other taste rather than the sauce. It was a bit too sweet for my taste the bread and the sauce the sandwich had in. Overall a good experience for a different fast food meal. However, I must highlight the brownie! The best I’ve ever eaten in years! I totally recommend it.

Crowdy and tightly inside, you can’t pass between tables without touching both of them. Service was nothing special, we were not even asked if the food was okay. The food itself was good, but not warm at all. Also I’m not sure why we didn’t get any fiscalized receipt…?

Definitely go early, the sandwich was great, eggs were juicy and fluffy, bread was soft and crisp, portions were big and filling.

We had the bacon avocado sandwich and the salmon avocado sandwich. Visually they were attractively designed, but the taste was not convincing. Too sweet for a savory breakfast and not enough salt for balance. You can save money, there are plenty of other nice cafes on the street…

Their bread resembles sweet uno bread, it was not baked well, we did not like it very much. I can't say it's bad, but it's not tasty either.

I had eggdrop with ham, it was so delicious. I really like the sauce. It is a cozy place. I drank americano, it wasn't the best americano I've ever had but it was OK. The staff were kind.

I really don’t understand the hype of this place. It is just a bun with scrammed eggs and some extras. It tastes normal, just like it should. Place is very busy, very loud, tables very close, customers typical Prenzlauer Berg or expats. I wanted to leave the place as soon as possible, as the atmosphere was not like relaxed brunch, but quick fast food. Service was quite chaotic. Ah! And you have to pay by CASH - actually all fancy hipster wannabe Bruch places on the street ask for CASH only. So strange … It is nice to try it, but neither atmosphere nor food, nor service deserve 5 stars for me.

A hyped food spot that you can recommend with a clear conscience and a few caveats. The coffee tasted delicious, but nothing unusual anymore when using a portafilter machine. The two egg drop sandwiches were also convincing and were something different. The sweet sauce on the sandwich isn't for everyone, but you could leave that out next time. What's a bit of a shame is that the restaurant is really nicely decorated, but the tables are a bit close to each other. Of course, we are happy for the café when all the seats are full, but this can also seem like “mass processing” to the visitor. In terms of price, it's a bit more expensive, but okay for an irregular visit.

Sandwich was pretty good but the light orange sauce is unfortunately trying to do wayyy too much!! It was too sweet and artificial, and ruined the balance of flavors. Maybe it would be better if there were a variety of sauces offered, and offered on the side and not directly drizzled and served on the sandwich 💔
