Unfortunately a very bad experience. Management unable to find solutions. (Unfortunately) The food was ok, but inedible because the smoke in the room was far too great. The reason given is the open kitchen. Some of us had tears coming from our eyes and one person had to leave the restaurant because their eyes hurt too much. We have tried several times to find a solution or at least for management to show insight. But they stubbornly took the view that everything was right and that was the way it was with an open kitchen. But we know it differently. Due to the very negative experience with the manager and his condescending manner, we sent the health department and the trade inspectorate a letter with 10 signatures so that it could be checked. We don't let the manager tell us that our complaint doesn't matter is legitimate. The authorities can now decide that. That can't be healthy!!!!!!!!!! There is also photo documentation!!!!!!!

Great restaurant - especially on Saturdays the atmosphere is great! Perfect for getting away from the stress of everyday life and simply starting the weekend with good food, drinks and a good atmosphere. Quality has its price and you get the quality in the food and service. You have to calculate the waiting time, the staff works with time and you have to understand that it can take a while, especially on the weekend. Definitely recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great atmosphere and appetizers, but mixed feelings about the meat The place is very nice, cozy, and warm, with a friendly staff that made us feel welcome. The appetizers were absolutely brilliant – delicious with generous portions. We highly recommend the Spiedo di pane! However, we were a bit disappointed with the quality of the meat cut for the Bistecca dry-aged. Despite this, the excellent cocktail selection definitely made up for it.

Just wow! We didn't get there until 9:30pm and it was still very busy, but we were able to have a drink at the bar first before being assigned a table. The ambience was lively and pleasant. The truffle fries were the best I've ever had and the Wagyu was fantastic too. The menu is varied and the service is very friendly, despite a small order being forgotten. The prices are a little higher, but justified. A small point of criticism could be the relatively loud music in the restaurant, as the bar was at the front and the music was playing equally loudly everywhere. However, it fits the concept and contributed to the general mood, you just have to like it. Otherwise really great!

Nice place for a drink and more

A new employee dropped a glass on the bar. The entire contents of the glass, including alcohol and broken glass, hit me, especially my face. Instead of taking the incident seriously and apologizing appropriately, I was treated in a very disrespectful manner by the bar manager (tall and slim), who wanted to protect the employee. That was human and I shouldn't overdo it. He held a lamp directly at my face and asked condescendingly: "Yes, where? Show me? Where??? extremely rude and completely inappropriate! I understand that it's human nature for things to break and I could have been happy with a short apology. However, I expect your staff, especially those who have previous experience, to handle such situations with more professionalism and respect, especially when it comes to the safety and well-being of guests.

Unfortunately not worth the 200 euros for 2 people.... Food rather standard, prices very high for what it is.

I visited for lunch. It's about 1 euro more expensive than the menu posted at the entrance, but it's still reasonably priced. The store was empty. Bread and meat topped with eggs. It was delicious.

Unfriendly welcome from an arrogant waiter, mediocre food with carelessly prepared vegetables, I was embarrassed to go there with my business friends from Düsseldorf. By the way, the ambience is from a distant time. We didn't understand the good reviews. On the same street is Best Worscht in Town, you better go there, they have a really good currywurst.

We cannot understand the good reviews. We recently went there on the recommendation of a friend. The starter (purchased Italian cold cuts) was quite good. The burger in the main course was a 1 out of 5. The meat was just bland and unseasoned. In addition, you couldn't taste any sauce and the fries weren't crispy at all. We would never go there again because the food just doesn't taste good!

Everything was perfectly prepared and delicious. I took the filet steak and mashed potatoes with truffle. The chairs were a bit uncomfortable for a long stay. Will definitely visit again.

They brought us the menu within 15 minutes and the dish was a mess. We ordered two steaks, generally not bad, and there were potatoes with truffle mixed and brought without, but they replaced them for us. They kept trying to take our plates even though we were still eating. The expectations were high, but unfortunately not justified. The atmosphere is great.

This place is a hidden gem, especially for lunch menu. It is really valued for the lunch option, about 15 Eur without drink. The portion is huge and tasty. We receive 10% discount for workers of the company in the building.

This establishment may look nice but is absolutely not recommended. At the beginning we were served by an extremely unfriendly and unprofessional gentleman who belongs more on Reeperbahn than here in Gastro. The good man was more concerned with justifying his careless actions than doing what he was there to do, namely serve. The other waitresses who were at our table from time to time weren't great either. Our main course was only served after about an hour and was also wrong. The food is good in itself, but on the same level as any other run-of-the-mill steakhouse in Frankfurt and therefore not worth the price there. The only good thing about this shop was the nice lady who served us later. I think her name was Karoline. With her nice, professional and courteous manner, she really tried everything possible to put the situation right and ensured that we had a pleasant evening despite everything. She was truly a 10/10 in her work. I wish every employee there was like her. Thanks so much.

VAIVAI is definitely an outstanding restaurant! The quality of the meat is very good, especially the ribeye steak is a real treat. The homemade green sauce herb butter is simply incredibly tasty and the service is also good. In the evening you can also have a great party, so I would say the complete package.

Hi, Food was good but came too late. Our dinner lasted an hour.

This restaurant is definitely one of the Gems of Frankfurt. Food is delicious, service is still on top even when it is crowded and atmosphere is pretty good after 21:00. Truffle pasta is must try and the portions of Lasagna are insane. Will visit this place as often as possible. The only limitation is prices, but still looking to the Frankfurt standards, they are pretty reasonable.

I was here with my girls and we felt really welcome! The wait staff are all really friendly and the food is really good! The lasagna and a strawberry tiramisu as dessert are particularly recommended.

The price for the salad with topping is excessive. Neither the ambience, the service nor the “particularly high-quality ingredients” justify this abnormal price. The portion of chicken on the salad is tiny. I couldn't identify fennel or other ingredients in the salad either. Unfortunately it wasn't particularly tasty - I won't eat here again.

An all-round perfect experience! We met in a small group (after prior reservation) at Vaivai. After the nice welcome, we were shown straight to our table and immediately given the cards to order. In addition to an excellent drinks menu, there was also a very appealing menu for our taste with dishes that made the decision very difficult for us. For me I ended up having the veggie lasagne with a small side salad and Sarti Spritz. Very aesthetically presented and tastes perfect! I will have to come back in the near future as there was still so much for me to try... Thank you for an all-round successful experience.

Good restaurant but lately not happy with the service, the music is just a disaster

Simply they have tasty food and drinks are great, service is a little slow and it happened that we had reservations but we waited 30 min to get our table. Dj and music is not but however it is underground trans!

We had dinner there at the end of a bachelorette party because it is advertised as a restaurant with a bar. It's better to reserve a table a month instead of a week in advance; when we asked, they said the place was well booked. When we arrived three quarters of an hour before reservation, the shop was half empty and our table was "already" free, so we were taken straight to the table. The waiters there are very attentive and really on the ball, and the food and drink recommendations were also really good. When it came to food, we had various starters brought to us which we shared, and they were all very good. For the main course, on the other hand, the burgers were beyond reproach, the steaks were crispy on the outside, juicy and cooked to perfection - but unfortunately they were still very cold on the inside and therefore cooled down so quickly. But the prices are very reasonable... When we had finished eating, we wanted to move to the bar area (as the restaurant advertises), but it remained closed that day because it would be too warm outside at 24°C. So we had to replan the evening and couldn't end it at VAIVAI as planned.

The food is simply a 10/10. Everything is delicious 😍 the portion sizes are PERFECT, so you'll be full. Prices are on the high end but with the taste it's worth every cent!

I have been a regular guest for many years and would just like to say thank you!!! Thank you for this incredible place, which has given me so many indescribably beautiful evenings. This shop not only serves delicious food and good wine, but also offers its guests an all-round exceptional evening that you won't soon forget. After dinner, I like to go to the legendary bar with Frankfurt's best cocktails and bartenders who conjure up drinks with passion and always ensure a good atmosphere. And the real highlight of the evening is that the managing director himself DJs on weekends and always manages to make me dance with his incredible tracks. In summer there is a large, inviting terrace and for several months now, VAIVAI has also been offering delicious food during the day. The entire team does an incredible job, you are always greeted in a friendly manner and I think you could call VAIVAI something like the “heart of Frankfurt” in the catering industry. I can only recommend it to everyone and look forward to many more moments there… Thank you VAIVAI!!! P.S. Excellent food and very chic interior design in the style of an old factory hall; The service was always friendly and on the ball, even though all tables were fully occupied. Unfortunately, it is very loud when the house is full, so you are unlikely to have a romantic candlelight dinner here. Admittedly, the whole thing has its price (main course between €20 and €40), but we'll happily come back.

We had our Christmas party at VaiVai. The starter and main course came as platters and there was plenty of it, something for everyone. The beetroot tartare is a dream! Burrata con pomodorini very delicious! Wild salmon ceviche very, very tasty The US Prime Bavette & Rib Eye is incredibly tender and melts like butter in your mouth. Your homemade butter is amazing as well as the crusty bread. Many of us raved about the sea bass and the dessert was the highlight. The service was top and my glass was never empty. We were there for a company dinner as a large group with a flat rate booking for the presentation of plates according to a menu. Unfortunately, it appears that quality was intentionally compromised due to the flat-rate booking. The bavette served was full of tendons in almost all pieces and one piece in particular. This one piece was as extreme as I had ever experienced, which meant I had to chew it up and throw it down the toilet (out of politeness). I've never had such trouble with meat before and of course it wasn't overlooked in the kitchen when it was being cut - it couldn't have been overlooked. My colleagues say similar things, but were luckier. The pasta was overcooked, and the dessert with crushed pistachios as a topping also had crushed shell residue. Unusual and unexpectedly careless. In general, the ingredients were surprisingly not appropriate for the establishment and the price category. Ambiance: music a bit too loud and quite dark. If given another opportunity I would avoid this restaurant as there was deliberate negligence and very likely intention to reduce quality.

Wo war das 24 Karat Blattgold :D Ich habe schon viele Burger in Frankfurt etc. gegessen, dieser hat mich komplett umgehauen mit seinen 26,€.. So einen Standard Burger anzubieten ist lächerlich.

Wayyyyyy Overpriced. The place is nice but the food quality doesn’t match it’s price. All three dishes we ordered were a bit too salty. Cocktails were also so so. I rarely leave a comment on Google but this one really disappointed me.

Ich war das 2. Mal zur Weihnachtsfeier dort. Essen super lecker. Für jeden Geschmack was dabei. Personal absolut freundlich und aufmerksam. Ambiente einladend und schön. Später am Abend legt ein DJ auf. Musik, Stimmung und Menschen perfekt. Zum Tanzen genug Platz. Schließt um 2 Uhr. Vor der Tür nette Security. Für die Mittelschicht eher ein Highlight, da Qualität auch ihren Preis hat.

Für eine Weihnachtsfeier nur bedingt geeignet. Räume sind groß und offen, daher recht laut und für Unterhaltungen nicht ideal.

Zur Weihnachtszeit ist es ja wirklich immer stressig und voll. Und, wenn man als Gast zu spät kommt, auch nicht perfekt. Aber die anderen 2 Gäste waren schon anwesend . Aber so voll und Reservierungen bis zum Anschlag annehmen, dass man gebeten wird aufzustehen ist schon mies, gerade noch bei einem Weihnachtsessen. Hauptsache Profit rausschlagen. Vorallem, wenn uns davor noch gesagt wird, dass man an der Bar noch Drinks zu sich nehmen kann. Wir standen da wie am Bahnhof hin und her gelaufen. Man wurde schon angeschaut, als hätten wir andere Absichten. Erst waren wir willkommene Gäste und zum Schluss nur noch ungewollte Gäste. Das Essen war lecker, aber wohl hat man sich zum Schluss nicht mehr gefühlt und wir haben die Location gewechselt. Zur Weihnachtszeit an einem Samstagsbend wirklich nicht zu empfehlen. Weder bei der Reservierungsbestätigung,- beim reminder,- noch am gleichen Tag zur Telefonbestätigung wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass unser Tisch doppelt gebucht war.

Food and drink were excellent. Great lively environment. The crostini appetizer was a bit disappointing, however. While the toppings were good, the bread was too soft and mushy. Service was adequate.

The brot that came with appetizer was the best. I would recommend ribeye steak rather than fish dish.

Helaas een tegenvaller. Eten was onder de maat, pasta was extreem pittig waardoor de smaak verviel. Drankjes waren oké maar €10,- voor een klein glas wijn is bizar. We waren op zaterdagavond en je kon elkaar niet verstaan door het lawaai. De spots verlichting haalde de intieme sfeer weg. Jammer!

Sehr empfehlenswert und das essen ist sehr gut. Tolle freundliche Bedienung. Alle im Team sehr Gäste orientiert. Ein Punkt muss ich abziehen, die Preise sind mittlerweile bei Getränken deutlich zu hoch, 150 ml Wein um die 10 Euro halte ich bei guten aber nicht herausragenden Weinen unangemessen. Die Branche vergisst, das diese Kalkulation in keinem Verhältnis steht.

Sehr schöne etwas andere Location. Super leckeres Essen und tolle Auswahl an Getränken und Speisen. Sehr nette schnelle Bedingung. Das Vegane Gericht Blumenkohlschnitzel war sehr lecker, nur hatte ich mir die „Schnitzelvariante“ auch als dünnen panierten Blumenkohl vorgestellt. Aber es war von Geschmack und der Anrichtung top. Ab 22:00 Uhr ca wird am Wochenende auch laute Musik gespielt. Definitiv einen Besuch wert. Die Preise sind eher hoch aber für die Location und die Speisen angebracht.

Das Essen war ganz gut so wie die Lage von VAIVAI. Die Inneneinrichtung finde ich sehr ansprechend. Servivekräfte sind nett und höflich aber wenn es am Samstag Abend volles Haus ist, wird es schwieriger die bestellten Getränke wie Coca-Cola zu erhalten. Wir mussten, je später der Abend wurde bereits bei 2 Bestellungen, ein zweites Mal nachfragen. Scheinbar lag es aber leider an der Bar, dass unsere Getränke lange brauchten. Alles in allem kann ich dieses Restaurant empfehlen - finde ihn jedoch preislich überteuert für das was sie bieten.

Samstagabends ist es in diesem Mix aus Restaursnt, Bar und Club laut, voll, chaotisch und übertrieben. Essen hochpreisig, Getränke völlig überzeichnet, Seevice super nett und aufmerksam, aber auch überfordert. Das Essen ist lecker, die Cocktails sind ok, die Weinkarte ist nicht riesig, aber nett zusammengestellt. Preisleistung also passt überhaupt nicht. Aber: Toller Laden, sehr urban, intensiv, gute Leute, Partypeople. Du gibst zu viel Geld aus, aber du gibst es gerne aus. Ein richtig guter Ort fürs Reinkommen in den Abend, Vorglühen für die Nacht und Feiern bis zum Morgen.

Good food but very poor service. Not attentive at all. The place was not crowded at all but still the waitress was almost never there so that we could order. We waited a long time to order another drink or even desert until we gave up and just ordered the bill. That‘s is quite disappointing as this place was one of my favorite restaurants. The service was much better the years before. I would expect more from a place where you spend easily more than 200€ (2 ppl) for dinner.

Sehr leckeres Essen, gutes Publikum und super Service, aber die Preise sind im Verhältnis einfach überhöht. Das hat schon New York City Charakter 10€ für eine Flasche stilles Wasser zu nehmen. Dieses Preisniveau zieht sich bis zum mittelklassigen Tiramisu für 9 €…

Schönes Restaurant und scheint gerade angesagt zu sein - denn es war gut besucht und die Reservierung im Vorfeld war nicht ganz einfach. Generell hat mir die Lage und die Einrichtung sehr gut gefallen. Karte ist Interessant, Getränke sind Abwechslungsreich. Essen schmeckte ganz gut - wobei das Steak nicht ganz wie bestellt war - Portionen waren ausreichend und Präsentation ganz schön. Leider wirkte das Geschirr etwas abgenutzt/beschädigt, Service war nicht ganz so schnell und Aufmerksam, Preise sind eher gehoben. Zeitlimitierung für den Tisch war etwas schade - aber die bald startende Musik gefiel uns ganz gut. Das Rhabarber-Tiramisu fand ich übrigens ausgefallen und keineswegs zu süss :-). Rundum gute Restaurant, mit ein paar Schwächen.

Das Essen war ausgezeichnet, es war viel los, trotzdem wurden wir direkt zu unserem Tisch gebracht. Die Bedienung professionell und freundlich. Ein Kritikpunkt ist jedoch, dass wir waren zum Essen dort waren, die Musik in diesem Bereich war so laut, dass wir uns nicht unterhalten konnten, selbst die Bedienung hat die Bestellung teilweise falsch verstanden.

Excellent food, service was a bit slow and hard to get the waiters attention

Das VaiVai hat mich bislang noch nie enttäuscht. Wir kamen letztens spontan mit meiner Familie nach meiner Abschlussfeier und die Kollegin war so nett und hat alles möglich gemacht um uns einen schönen Tisch zu organisieren. Sowohl das Essen als auch der Service waren top! Jedes Mal wieder!

Sehr nett, sehr schick, aber auch sehr teuer. Allerdings ist der Burger und die Trüffelpasta phänomenal gut. Um sich ab und zu etwas zu gönnen sehr geeignet.

War mal gut, inzwischen hat der Service keine Freude mehr/permanent unfreundlich und die Stimmung ist auch nicht mehr das gleiche. Essen/Küche ist weiterhin gut aber das ist halt nur die halbe Miete.
