Really good cuisine in Frankfurt with history.

The best meat I think I've eaten on my entire trip through Europe, super tender and very tasty. Don't be afraid to go to this excellent restaurant.

I was wrongly charged for employee meal expenses (Auslagen) in the reception, but I didn't get what I paid. I was wrongly charged for a large meal and received a refund. I was wrongly charged for employee meal expenses (Auslagen) that aren't mine. I am extremely upset and expect a prompt refund. They also seated me right next to the entrance. Other foreigners were seated in the brightly lit inner area. They also seated me next to the entrance where the employees eat. They charged me 3.50 euros for the employee meal expenses on my receipt. Koreans, never go there.

I don't know on what basis the owner thinks he can privilege himself and select guests. However, the way he tells you he supposedly doesn't have a table left—or simply doesn't want one—is absolutely unacceptable!

In my opinion the best value for money steak house in Frankfurt. Usually we order 600g ribeye and never got disappointed. Quality very good and cooked perfectly to preference. Crust is a little crunchy, not sure whether they use a little rub. Good choice of sides. We like the grilled bell peppers. Staff friendly and not pushy. Prices, considering the location, super fair.

The boss is very arrogant, and unfortunately, the staff behaves just the same. You're treated really badly and don't feel welcome at all as a guest. Very disappointing.

One of the best steaks of my life. It was tender, juicy, and tasty. Heads up, you need a reservation in advance, but we managed to get a table for two without a reservation.

The food is truly excellent, and the service staff are always friendly, attentive, and make a lot of effort—there's really nothing to criticize. Unfortunately, this positive impression is completely ruined by the boss's behavior. He selects his guests at his own discretion, arbitrarily deciding who's "right" and who isn't, and in doing so, conveys an extremely unpleasant, unwelcoming aura. This way of treating guests is disrespectful, unprofessional, and immediately spoils the pleasure of the visit. It's a shame, because the food and service deserve much better—but under this management, it's not a place you'd want to return to.

I've been visiting this steakhouse for many years now and I'm always impressed. The quality of the steaks is simply unbeatable – always perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. The side dishes are also fresh and prepared with love. I'd especially like to highlight the service: always friendly, attentive, and warm. You feel truly welcome and in good hands here. The meat is ok, there are other restaurants with better quality of meat for the price. Great wines and cozy atmosphere. Service is okay, however the owner is rude and unfriendly.

We’ve wrapped up our South America trip and are on our way home, with a stopover in Frankfurt for the night. Discovered a hidden gem of a steakhouse specializing in Argentinian beef! If you’re not a beef eater, the options are a bit limited, but I managed to find a few good alternatives. The beef was perfectly cooked, and we couldn’t resist adding their signature burger steak—it was excellent. Thankfully, we arrived early and managed to get a table, which had to be vacated by 8 pm. Definitely recommend making a reservation in advance. Service was made even more enjoyable by our wonderful Italian waiter, who brought genuine warmth to the experience!

Nice place. I overdid it a bit with the 350g ribeye steak, though. There were also side dishes. Good meat, low in fat. Professionally prepared, no meat juices. Points of criticism: We ordered the steak medium-rare, but actually got it medium. And our drink order was forgotten once.

We've been going to Buffalo Steakhouse for many years. The meat is always on point, the quality and taste are always outstanding, and the service is always amazing. There's nothing we don't like here. We keep coming back and can't imagine it tasting better anywhere else. 😄 After more than 10 years, I'm finally writing a review because it's important to me to emphasize that this is the best steakhouse in Frankfurt! This place served Argentinian steak. The place is buzzling busy. Food is acceptable, not the best I have ever tried. if you are used to high quality steak such as Peter Lugers dont expect anything like this. But ambiance and food is acceptable. Waiter abit unfriendly.

I made a reservation for lunch for 4 people on June 5, 2025. I come here often, the food is delicious, and the service is good, but today I was upset because of one waiter.. I knew it was a place with a lot of food, so I ordered 2 medium steaks, 1 salad, and 3 side dishes for 4 people. When I asked for plates to share, they said they would charge extra for the empty plates.. This is the first time I've seen a restaurant like this in Europe;; When I finally paid, it came to 129 euros, so I asked them to make it 132 euros, but they added 1 euro to make it 133 euros. I liked this place, but I was extremely disappointed today. I won't go there again.

We were there for the first time and had a great experience! Very friendly staff who really welcomed you, a lovely atmosphere in the middle of the city, but somehow tucked away between the buildings, so you don't experience any noise but are still in the middle of it all. The steaks, one sirloin steak and one rump steak, were prepared exactly as ordered and were tender and very tasty! The price/performance ratio is also very good. Of course, it should be understood that steaks cost a bit more than a plate of pasta. We would definitely go back.

As a Berliner, I walked 5 km in Frankfurt to find a suitable restaurant for myself. And here I received a really great welcome, had great service, first-class food and I would always come back! Thank you for the spontaneous, lovely evening.

If you want to eat a good steak in Frankfurt, go to buffalo. We love going out for steak and always treat ourselves to one when we travel. The visit to the Buffalo rounded off our trip perfectly. The meat was buttery soft. Medium on point and a baked potato with quark... super delicious. The menu is clear and you can order your own side dishes to go with your meat. The service is very attentive, friendly and they gave us the opportunity to get a table despite not having a reservation. We didn't have to wait long to take our order. Drinks came quickly and the food also came promptly. After ordering, I wanted to change my supplement, which was made possible. Really great shop. When we are back in Frankfurt, we would like to come back. Thanks for the good food. Best regards

I've been going there regularly for years and have never been disappointed. The quality is consistently first class, the taste is simply outstanding - every steak is cooked to perfection. The side dishes also taste outstanding. The price-performance ratio is hard to beat. An absolute tip for all steak lovers! Please continue in the same way - I'll always be happy to come back.

I was back at the Steak House after three months – and the waiter recognized me immediately! That really impressed me and made me feel welcome. As always, the food was excellent, the service attentive and friendly. Absolutely recommended! The meat is very tasty, the best meat ever!

Original review: The fillet steaks (BIFE DE LOMO) are terrific! The preparation succeeds (now rarely) to the point. The service is always very attentive, friendly and quick, apart from the bumpy greeting from the "supervisor" (if present). By the way, the garlic bread deserves special praise - sensational!!! Update: Food still great. But top-down treatment is no longer acceptable. In my opinion, insulting the employees in front of the guests' eyes and ears is not exemplary, but rather bad form - there are more polite and discreet rules for that. It has been a favorite for special occasions for many years now (even during the pandemic). It's a shame, but it's getting too annoying now. Atmosphere feels more and more like a classroom and less and less like a restaurant.

I was there for the first time today and ate a 300g rump steak with potato wedges and sour cream. It was delicious. The ambience is great and the staff is also great for my taste. Neither intrusive nor absent - just the right mix. Another visit will definitely follow soon.

The steak was acceptable, but the staff’s attitude was disappointing. We were rushed to finish before closing time, even though there were still ten minutes left, and they refused to serve coffee.

I would have liked to give zero stars, but unfortunately that is not possible here. Today we had reserved a table from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (side note: we were regular guests because of the good steak and the friendly staff - except for the owner of the restaurant!). Due to traffic we were 25 minutes late, but this shouldn't or shouldn't be a problem since we had a time slot until 7:30 p.m. When we arrived we were hit by the boss because of the delay. He didn't even look at us while we talked, which is more than disrespectful to guests and pointed his hand - note: without even looking over - at a table with the remark "here". When we said that we were stuck in traffic, he said that he had also driven the car in Frankfurt today and there was no heavy traffic and we should have left in time (side information: we came from a city 30km away and not from Frankfurt City). Meanwhile he was typing something on his tablet and didn't look at us. For him, the customer is definitely not king, as the well-known saying goes. Very unfriendly and disrespectful. It may be that he made it to a restaurateur whose shop is always busy, but in our opinion he is a ZERO as a person. Because of the owner, the Buffalo has lost us and our friends, with whom we had dinner there today, as regular customers who left several hundred euros plus appropriate tips with each visit. After sitting down at the table for a moment, we got up again and left because we didn't want to eat there anymore after such behavior as we didn't feel welcome at all. The owner, who called us on his cell phone this morning at around 10 a.m. and again at around 5:35 p.m. to ask whether the reservation remained and where we were staying, didn't think it was necessary to call again after we got up and left unnoticed and asked what was going on or where we had suddenly gone.

Best steakhouse in town, I have been here for 10 years now. And this is my favorite spot in Frankfurt. Servers sometimes don't look friendly but this is how it is and they are nice actually.

We were a group of eight and had a mixed experience overall. Unfortunately, only one bread basket was placed on the table for everyone, which we found insufficient, especially when we expected to order another one, which would be charged extra. The fixed times and the pressure to leave on time also didn't contribute to a relaxing evening. Given the amount we spent, we would have greatly appreciated the "on the house" gesture like in other restaurants, but unfortunately, they were charged for it. This place still needs to learn to be more appreciative and flexible.

Unfortunately the sirloin steak was much more than medium. Also strangely cut as a butterfly steak. Apparently leftovers were used up. At 10 p.m. on a Friday we were rudely asked to leave the restaurant because they were closing. Unfortunately, it's a shame.

No more individual billing for groups of 3 or more. You can pay with 2 cards using your cell phone or smartwatch. Returned here again after what feels like 35 years. For me, a steakhouse used to be considered an “upscale restaurant” (admittedly at business expense). Nowadays we have reduced our meat consumption for health and ideological reasons. That's why good steakhouses are unfortunately on the decline. I still remember the “hype” of this house in the 70s on “Kleine Rothofstrasse”. At that time, Argentinian steaks were the “Non Plus Ultra” for me. In the 90s, the Buffalo moved to Kaiserhofstrasse, somewhat hidden down a flight of stairs into the back yard. For us the “Bermuda Triangle” with a Nighthawks atmosphere around it (B&B bar, Dominicus wine cellar/later Apfelwein-Klaus, the original Szechuan restaurant “Höfchen” in the courtyard in the Kaiserhof at the very back). Thankfully, the Buffalo's order book is still full, as I could see from the entries when the phone rang. “I'm very pleased” (Markus Lanz always says that... he probably means the same thing as I do). I found the atmosphere somehow homely. Glass house entrance with a view of the small screened outdoor (smoking) terrace. Inside, three rooms with precious/empty wine bottles on the shelves and plenty of “salutes” to meat eaters. An apron for sale with the inscription “Vegetarian is an Indian word for bad hunter” – in defiance of the modern “do-gooder vegan society”. The many service employees were busy and reminded me of the perfectionism of today's cider bars. People got along and joked with each other without neglecting the guests. Everything happened a little too quickly for “my taste”. Today, around 2:30 p.m. (after the lunch crowd of bankers/insurers/railway employees in Frankfurt) I spoke to the “old grill master” from the kitchen, who was taking a short break in the restaurant. He invented it, he said. And I was right: “despite his and my cooking and grilling skills at home, we will never be able to prepare the steak so perfectly.” I had the cheapest dish, number 6 on the menu: small beef steak, salad, fries for €19.50. It is a mystery to me how such a small, thin steak can be prepared to medium rare. My respect! My husband chose the Argentinian rump steak (Cadera Grande 300 g) for 28.00 and a side dish of baked beans (5 €). Complete satisfaction! The Argentinian Cabernet Sauvignon (red) wine (0.2 l for €10.50 and the 0.1 l glass for €5.50) was extremely pleasant and perfectly tempered. Yeast wheat beer (unfortunately only "Schöffi") is available from the barrel, unfortunately not in a 0.3 l glass. Anyway…. The espresso from the Joerges family roasting company in Obertshausen in Hesse for €3.05 isn't exactly cheap, but it seemed totally Italian: two thimbles full of flavor. The toilets are on the same level, so everything is barrier-free. Very aesthetic photos of women in the men's toilet and of muscular men in the women's toilet (in our hormone-reduced age, we place more value on a proper greeting and mental well-being). It even smelled nice here! It's just a shame that you can only dry your hands with a fan that spreads virus particles. Personally, I missed lobster soup on the menu. And a “Surf & Turf” offer. I am still extremely grateful for this institution!

Best steaks in Frankfurt in a calm, friendly and cozy atmosphere. It doesn't always have to be the extraordinary, because the down-to-earth is often much better with few frills!

I have been coming here for 15 years. Live in the states but make a point to layover in Frankfurt for the steak. I have traveled the world and by far the best steak I ever had. So disappointed to say it’s the worst service. The waiters are rude as if they are doing a paying customer a massive favor when they wait on them. But then the steak comes and I am reminded why I keep coming back. Take the steak sauce home. They sell it in a jar for your home grilling.

A great place for Valentine's Day. We went and loved it, the prices were normal, the waiters were very attentive.

They really know how to prepare steaks here, because I ate one of the best rump steaks of my life here and at a good price and in top quality. The starter salad and the fries as a side dish were nothing special, but I would happily come back for the steak and the good service.

If you would like to have a business lunch at midday, you should reserve a table in the left area (from the entrance). There the tables are placed a little further apart and you can have a little more undisturbed conversation.
