Block house hält was es verspricht. Schneller Service, ein gutes Konzept, sehr gutes Fleisch für einen vernünftigen Preis. Nicht viel Schickimicki, dafür authentisch und bezahlbar. Immer wieder gerne !

Das Essen war sehr lecker und der Service war top. Allerdings haben wir dieses Restaurant explizit ausgewählt, weil online steht es sei klimatisiert. Leider gibt es tatsächlich in diesem Haus keine Klimaanlage, wodurch die Lufttemperatur im Raum der Kerntemperatur meines Steaks entsprach. Wenn man nach dem Essen schweißgebadet ist und es dann auch noch keine Eiswürfel gibt, um wenigstens ein kühles Getränk zu genießen, kann ich leider nicht mehr als 2 Sterne vergeben. Sehr schade, denn wie gesagt, das Team vor Ort war sehr nett und die Qualität des Essens wunderbar.

Völlig überteuert meiner Meinung nach, Knoblauchbrot war super, auch die Ofenkartoffel war gut der Salat war nichts besonderes. Das Essen war okay,Service hat Luft nach oben ich wurde schon besser bedient.Ambiente ist Old Scool.

Ich bin zufällig auf dieses Lokal gestoßen. Zur Mittagszeit war es nicht besonders voll, da ich kurz nach Öffnung Platz genommen habe. Ich bestellte das Ribeye-Steak, das mit einer Scheibe Knoblauchbrot, frischem Salat und einer Ofenkartoffel serviert wurde. Der Salat war superfrisch und das Steak perfekt gegrillt und köstlich. Zum Abschluss gab es einen warmen Apfelstrudel mit warmer Vanillesauce. Ein sehr herzliches und freundliches Ambiente. Alle Angestellten waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ein wirklich toller Ort für ein gutes Steak.

Ich war dort und habe den Abend sehr genossen. Auf der Terrasse zu sitzen, ein frisches, kaltes Bier, lecker gegrilltes Fleisch und zum Abschluss Eis und Erdbeeren – ein wirklich toller Abend! Es war zwar viel los, aber die Bedienung hat ihr Bestes gegeben. Ein wirklich gutes Lokal mit schönem Ambiente und toller Küche!

Super kundenorientierter Service, gerne wieder!

Wir sind hier für ein Essen mit Geschäftspartnern eingekehrt. Zusammenfassend lässt sich sagen, dass das Essen wirklich ganz gut war. Das Rumpsteak empfand ich mit 30€ jedoch etwas teuer, dafür, dass es sich bei Block House um eine Kette handelt. Für 30€ habe ich persönlich schon deutlich bessere und größere Rumpsteaks gegessen. Ebenso war das Ambiente ziemlich laut, sodass man sich nur schwer unterhalten konnte. Eine etwas bessere Schalldämmung wäre vermutlich sinnvoll.

Ich war im Block House im Westend essen und es war mal wieder ein super Abend. Mein Steak war genau auf den Punkt auf meinen Wunsch-Gargrad zubereitet, super saftig und zart. Das legendäre Block House Brot und der Salat vorab sind einfach Klassiker, die mich nie enttäuschen. Der Service war trotz vollem Haus sehr aufmerksam, freundlich und schnell. Ich habe mich in der gemütlichen Atmosphäre total wohlgefühlt und komme definitiv wieder!

Wir hatten einen rundum tollen Besuch! Das Essen war unglaublich lecker, frisch zubereitet und mit viel Liebe angerichtet. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir den Service:Hassan hat uns wirklich hervorragend bedient freundlich, aufmerksam und immer mit einem Lächeln.

Seit Jahren bin ich Gast im Block House im Westend und habe dem Restaurant immer wieder neue Chancen gegeben – leider bereue ich es jedes Mal erneut. Die Mitarbeiter verhalten sich häufig respektlos und unprofessionell. Besonders enttäuschend ist, dass mein Steak fast immer falsch gebraten serviert wird und ich mein Essen regelmäßig zurückgeben muss. Der letzte Besuch war allerdings wirklich der schlimmste: Kurz vor Feierabend wurde mir mein Essen von einer Mitarbeiterin mit Putzhandschuhen serviert. Das war einfach nur ekelhaft und absolut unhygienisch. Zusätzlich haben sowohl das Besteck als auch das Glas unangenehm gerochen. Die Geschäftsleitung sollte sich dringend und ganz genau anschauen, wie dort mit Gästen umgegangen wird und wie es um die Hygiene im Restaurant steht. Nach so vielen enttäuschenden Besuchen kann ich dieses Restaurant leider nicht mehr empfehlen. Sollte sich daran nichts ändern, werde ich weitere Schritte prüfen.

Die Atmosphäre ist angenehm und der Service ausgezeichnet. Das Essen ist sehr gut.

Steak-Genuss at it's best! Wir waren Sonntags mit Freunden aus Kolumbien hier und es war ein tolles Erlebnis. Unser professioneller Kellner Ahmed hatte Geduld, damit wir unseren spanisch sprachigen Freunden Details übersetzten konnten. Alle Steaks waren sowohl was die Fleischqualität als auch die Zubereitung angeht super! Das Restaurant sehr gepflegt! Definitiv ein Ort zum wieder besuchen!

Ansich ganz netter blockhouse Laden. Bedienung ist freundlich aber ich musste irgendwie ewig warten… hatte meine Vorspeise schneller als mein Getränk, was ich direkt bestellt hatte. Habe ca. 35-40 min auf mein Essen gewartet, und das obwohl der Laden nicht voll war. Das muss schneller gehen! Das Essen hat dafür aber gut geschmeckt.

Ein wirklich schönes und erfrischendes Erlebnis in Frankfurt! Dies ist einer der wenigen Orte, an denen wir uns mit unserem Kleinkind wirklich willkommen gefühlt haben – nicht nur vom Personal, sondern auch von den anderen Gästen, was einen großen Unterschied gemacht hat. Das Restaurant ist sehr kinderfreundlich, die Mitarbeiter sind freundlich und zuvorkommend, und das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Als Eltern bedeutet uns diese einladende Atmosphäre sehr viel. Absolut empfehlenswert für Familien mit kleinen Kindern!

Rasend schnelle /zuvorkommende Bedienung , das Essen kommt sehr zügig. Die Qualität ist sehr hoch Top frischer Salat, Ofenkartoffel sind auf den Punkt mit selbst gemachter Creme Fresh Souce. Ein zartes Stück American Tenderloin Steak dazu, einfach klasse auf den Punkt / ein Tick schärfer hätte es gegrillt werden können ist aber nur ein mini Ansatz dazu. Klare Empfehlung für ein Männer Essen 👍

Ich war abends dort und die Atmosphäre war angenehm, die Bedienung sehr aufmerksam. Ich bestellte das Rumpsteak, das sehr sättigend und köstlich war. Zum Steak gibt es eine Ofenkartoffel und Knoblauchbrot, sodass ich auch ohne Vorspeise satt war.

Sehr angenehme Atmosphäre, aufmerksames Personal und vor allem hervorragendes Essen. Das Steak im Block House genieße ich jedes Mal wieder gern, wenn ich in Frankfurt bin.

Qualität des Essens für die Preisklasse völlig in Ordnung. Höflichkeit und Freundlichkeit des Personal sehr gut, wenn man bedenkt das zur Zeit Messe war und das Lokal völlig überlaufen. Nicht geeignet für Besucher die eine ruhige Atmosphäre suchen! Tischreservierung nach unserer Auffassung immer nötig. Haben ohne Reservierung was bekommen mit relativ 20 min. Wartezeit im Eingangsbereich. Erreichbarkeit von Messegelände in ca. 10 min. Mit dem Taxi. Der Beilagensalat wird fertig am Tisch angereicht, kein Salat-Buffet zur Selbstbedienung.

Am Samstagabend besuchte ich das Restaurant, und es war wirklich sehr belebt. Trotz des Trubels fühlte ich mich herzlich willkommen, und der Manager der eine dunkle blaue Weste trug war ausgesprochen freundlich und professionell. Auch das gesamte Serviceteam war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Obwohl es ziemlich voll war, kam das Essen rechtzeitig und war wirklich hervorragend. Bewertung – BLOCK HOUSE Frankfurt Westend Ich hatte kürzlich die Gelegenheit, das BLOCK HOUSE Steakhouse im Frankfurter Westend zu besuchen und möchte meine Eindrücke gerne teilen. Zunächst einmal möchte ich die Qualität des Essens ausdrücklich hervorheben. Die Steaks waren hervorragend zubereitet und geschmacklich von sehr guter Qualität. Man merkt deutlich, dass hier auf hochwertige Produkte geachtet wird. Auch der Service während des Essens verlief insgesamt zügig – die Bestellung wurde aufgenommen und die Speisen wurden in angemessener Zeit serviert. Ein Punkt, der aus meiner Sicht jedoch deutliches Verbesserungspotenzial hat, betrifft den Empfang sowie die allgemeine Freundlichkeit des Personals. Gerade beim Ankommen fehlte leider ein wirklich freundlicher, lächelnder Empfang sowie eine herzliche Begrüßung und Sitzplatzzuweisung. Ein Lächeln und eine offene, einladende Art beim Empfang tragen wesentlich zum Gesamteindruck eines Restaurantbesuchs bei. Besonders negativ aufgefallen ist uns dabei ein Manager im Servicebereich, der ein blaues Hemd mit schwarzer Weste trug. Sein Auftreten wirkte sehr ernst und teilweise sogar arrogant. Als Gast hat man dadurch leider kein besonders willkommenes Gefühl bekommen. Freundlichkeit oder ein kurzes Lächeln waren in diesem Moment leider nicht zu erkennen. Gerade in der Gastronomie, in der Gastfreundschaft eine zentrale Rolle spielt, hinterlässt ein solcher Eindruck leider einen bleibenden Nachgeschmack. Auch bei der Bestellaufnahme fehlte leider eine gewisse Servicequalität. Es gab keinerlei Beratung zu den Steaks, Garstufen oder Beilagen. Die Bestellung wurde sehr nüchtern und schnell aufgenommen, fast so, als würde man in einem Fast-Food-Restaurant bestellen. Gerade in einem Steakhouse erwartet man jedoch eine kurze fachliche Beratung oder zumindest eine Empfehlung – das gehört für viele Gäste zu einem hochwertigen Restaurantbesuch dazu. Auch insgesamt wirkte das Personal an diesem Abend eher distanziert und wenig freundlich. Dabei waren wir zu einer Zeit im Restaurant, in der keine Stoßzeiten herrschten und ausreichend Raum für einen entspannten und freundlichen Umgang mit den Gästen gewesen wäre. Das Restaurant funktioniert organisatorisch gut, und kulinarisch war der Besuch wirklich überzeugend. Dennoch würde eine deutlich freundlichere und herzlichere Ausstrahlung des Teams das gesamte Erlebnis erheblich aufwerten. In der Gastronomie sollte der Anspruch nicht nur sein, bereits gut zu sein, sondern sich kontinuierlich zu verbessern – ganz im Sinne von: „We can do better.“ Fazit: Hervorragende Steakqualität und gutes Essen, jedoch deutlicher Verbesserungsbedarf beim Empfang, bei der Freundlichkeit des Personals sowie bei der Beratung während der Bestellung. Mit mehr Herzlichkeit und Serviceorientierung könnte der Besuch für Gäste deutlich angenehmer und runder werden.

Wir waren heute im Block House Westend und können die negative Bewertung überhaupt nicht bestätigen. Das Team ist dort immer freundlich, schnell und hilfsbereit selbst wenn das Restaurant bis auf den letzten Platz gefüllt ist. Man darf nicht vergessen, dass es in der Gastronomie feste Regeln und Abläufe gibt, gerade wenn es um den Außenbereich geht. Als Gäste sollte man manchmal etwas Geduld und Verständnis mitbringen, besonders an sehr vollen Abenden. Der junge Manager hat die Situation heute wirklich professionell gelöst. Trotz des hohen Andrangs blieb er ruhig und organisiert. Für uns war es wieder einmal ein sehr angenehmer Besuch. wir kommen gerne wieder 😊

Fantastische Lage und tolles Essen.

Immer top Qualität! Es ist das beste von den 3 Bock House in Frankfurt und der der Service ist immer gut! Schnell und freundlich!

Habe trotz vollem Lokal sofort einen Platz erhalten. Personal durchweg freundlich, höflich und aufmerksam. Das Essen war gut, schnell serviert. Das Filet war zart und gut gegart. Backkartoffel wird noch mit zusätzlichem Schälchen Sauerrahm serviert. Das bekannte Knoblauchbrot liegt ebenfalls auf dem Teller. Salatteller gab es dazu, habe jedoch das Pfannengemüse genommen (Pilze, Paprika, Zwiebeln, Zuckerschoten). Fand es etwas eng und mäßig laut, aber das Essen war sehr gut. Kinder werden ebenfalls gerne bedient und mit Malutensilien ausgestattet, um den Besuch angenehm zu gestalten.

Leckere Rindersteaks, freundliches Personal, angenehme Räumlichkeiten und gut mit dem ÖPNV zu erreichen.

Das Essen war wie erwartet super lecker. Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und höflich. Das Ambiente an sich war in Ordnung, aber was mir nicht gefiel, war mein Platz direkt mit Blick auf dreckiges Geschirr und Abfall. Eine Abdeckung aus Plexiglas oder Holz wäre toll gewesen, das war wirklich nicht ansehnlich.

Quite loud, acoustics less than ideal, but if you're having rump steak, get it from Block: sensationally tender, perfectly seasoned. The service is incredibly fast and very friendly.

We've stayed at several different BLOCK House hotels in Germany. After reading the reviews for this particular hotel, I was initially hesitant. However, we stayed there and, as we've come to expect from other BLOCK House hotels, were treated with the same courtesy and attention. The food was, as always, of excellent quality. We've been coming here for years, and the food, service, and atmosphere are always impeccable and simply fantastic. We feel very comfortable here. The steak tastes exceptional, and we even use the steak seasoning at home. Yesterday, despite it being very busy in the evening, our food arrived quickly.

It's a real shame that the phone simply switches off and plays an old, unsuitable message. You can do better than that!

I'm not a meat fan but this is really good!

I was there with important colleagues. We had made a reservation. As requested, we were given a table where we could talk. Everyone found something to eat, including the colleague with gluten-free requirements.

We used to come here often with the kids, and it was always great; the food and the children felt comfortable. After probably 10 years, we came back with one child, and it immediately felt very familiar, from the decor to the menu. The excellent quality hasn't changed, but the prices have 😉. Unfortunately, the parking situation has also changed; it's very difficult. Perhaps we had idealized views on the service, but it's definitely different now—not bad, but just okay.

Mean waiter mean cook:( they overcook the filet deliberately! I ordered my filet medium well and received rare I asked the waiter to seat it one minute he took ot back and never returned after 10 minutes I asked he said the cook is taling care of it . I asked how come so long the steak woll dry off i know how filets should be cooked and he answered spitefully: our kitchen is professional and not to compare with a housewife's kitchen! our cook is a profi and the steak needs its time! this restaurant u can see the open cooking area so I went to the cook and saw my steak lying dead on the sizzling iron surface. I asked him why does it take too long I only asked for one or two minutes longer grill but not 10 so he arrogantly answered madam you asked for more searing I said yes but one minute is enough for just a medium well not10 minutes and overdone! He insisted the steak needed more time! After two additional minutes more I finally received my plate back the steak was shrunken Grey and dry like an old shoe sole with no more juices left. I am sure both the cook and the waiter did this on purpose to punish me as if i committed some kind of crime to criticize the doneness of my steak, my joy of eating the American tenderloin piece was destroyed and In the meantime the rest of my family wee already done eating theirs Of course I refused to pay for the dish. No apology whatsoever followed by the restaurant manager or the waiter and no peace making offer either. You get treated much better in a hamburger fast food restaurant at a train station. For the service I would give minus points if I could very unprofessional mean waiter who even expects tips for the lousy service and a cook who treats the guests rather like a nuisance. The atmosphere is more like one of a fast food restaurant also. Just eat pay amd leave:(

The music is very loud i can’t even hear my family. I waited very long for my steak and when it came i realised it wasn’t what i wanted. I ordered a medium steak and got a well done steak which tasted burned and dry. The bread also tasted burned. Also the cooks are unhygienic. They cook and touch the food with bare hands without any gloves. It is very unhygienic and unprofessional. I won’t eat something what other people touched with their hands. It’s very unprofessional

Outrageous!!! I waited 35 minutes for my food (goose leg) only to be told afterwards that the legs were still in the oven and would take another 10 minutes. Seriously??? They should have told me that from the start!!!

Incredibly friendly staff, very delicious food, fast service

We decided to go there Sunday evening and called half an hour ago to check if they can make reservation. He said we can go directly since they are not very crowded tonight. We went and saw the restaurant full and like 10 people waiting outside. We went inside and a person who claimed restaurant manager asked how many people we were without taking any note. He said we will need to wait 15 min but he didn’t take any name. After we waited like 10 min outside, the waiting people number even increased more and he didn’t know who was first to take. He started to say we need to wait 15-30 min more. We did not waste our time more since he created a chaos that he was not able to manage. It is almost impossible that a restaurant that was not crowded suddenly became crowded in half an hour with 10 people waiting outside! Even in such a case, a professional restaurant would take a piece of paper and create a simple list of people waiting list. No way to go back again!

I wanted to make a reservation for the same day here on the website. However, the booking page informs them that same-day reservations are only accepted by phone. So I called and was told that they don't accept bookings on Sundays. Why doesn't the booking portal inform them of this? I wasted time researching and making phone calls, and I feel ripped off. Block House hasn't done themselves any favors. I won't bother them again.

I've been a customer of this restaurant for seven years. We come here quite often, especially because my children love the children's menu. Yesterday we were there again, and since my tea tasted bitter, I asked for some extra hot water. However, the waiter told me he wasn't allowed to bring any extra water—his attitude was rather odd. Surprised, I said they could charge me for the water, as I couldn't drink the tea as it was. Reluctantly, shaking his head, he finally brought me the water. I paid 155 euros and felt very uncomfortable when I asked for 50 ml of hot water. A few years ago, I was put in an embarrassing situation at the same restaurant: I had invited a friend to dinner when two employees suddenly came to our table and claimed that a dish I had eaten a month earlier hadn't been charged to my card. They accused me of this in the middle of the meal—in front of my friend—and pressured me to pay immediately. To this day, I don't understand how they could have been so sure it was me. It was extremely rude and inappropriate. Maybe it was actually the second time, but I paid. Nevertheless, I believe it's the service staff's job to verify payment transactions. Even if they were certain it was me, saying something like that on an evening when I had invited a friend was truly inappropriate and damaged my reputation. It's a story I still can't forget.

The food was really bad and not worth the price.

Well, I'm very disappointed with this place. I ate there for the first time today with my friends. I had imagined it would be completely different. The food arrived completely cold. The fries were cold, so I complained. By the time the new fries arrived, there was almost no meat left on my plate. I won't be going back there again; it's very sad for such a place.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this steakhouse! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The service was flawless – our waiter was attentive, friendly, and made sure every detail was perfect without ever being intrusive. The food was simply outstanding: the steak was cooked to perfection, juicy and full of flavor, and every side dish complemented the meal beautifully. Everything from the drinks to the dessert was top quality. Truly one of the best dining experiences I’ve had – highly recommended!

Very tasty steaks in a pleasant environment. The service is excellent, the meats are EXACTLY as you wish and very tasty. The menu includes, in addition to steaks and burgers, also poultry. The Mr. & Mrs Rumpsteak is recommended, while the caramel cream and the chocolate soufflé were excellent. Great steak house that has been remarkably consistent over many years. I came here with my late parents many times, especially after performances at the Frankfurt Opera. The restaurant offers fresh and very tasty food, even if the portions are rather small. The service was extremely friendly, fast, and competent. The prices are on the high side, but in line with the usual standards in Frankfurt. I would particularly like to commend the person in charge, who treated a man who couldn't pay with remarkable humanity.

The BLOCK HOUSE in Frankfurt's Westend is an excellent choice if you're looking for high-quality steaks in a relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant is modern, cozy, and yet typical of BLOCK HOUSE – you immediately feel welcome. The location in the Westend is very pleasant, somewhat quieter than the city center, but still easily accessible. The steaks are of outstanding quality and grilled to perfection. They are accompanied by the well-known classics such as fresh BLOCK HOUSE bread, crisp salads, and delicious baked potatoes – all top-quality, as usual. The service is also a big plus: friendly, attentive, and fast, without being intrusive. Whether for a business lunch, a relaxed evening with friends, or a family dinner – everything is just right here. The value for money is fair, and the consistently high quality makes the BLOCK HOUSE Frankfurt Westend a clear recommendation for all steak lovers.

Unfortunately, it's becoming increasingly clear that Block House restaurants are also part of the chain restaurant chain. While the food is certainly of a decent standard, the service there has reached rock bottom. In the past, the waitresses would tell you that as a customer, you should please come back. Now, the staff doesn't seem to care about anything. I'm very, very disappointed and am closing the Block House chapter for myself. Addendum: After a long time, we visited the restaurant again on September 4, 2025. We were curious to see if anything had changed in the service. It hadn't! It had actually gotten worse. The only difference from our last visit was that almost all the tables in the restaurant were free.

The Block House in Frankfurt's Westend district has been around for ages, and its longevity is certainly due in part to the quality and service, which we were able to confirm once again on our last visit. The waitress who served our larger group that evening did a perfect job: friendly, attentive, cheerful, and service-oriented! The kitchen also demonstrated once again that they understand and excel at what they offer. The food was accordingly good, although the portions were a bit on the modest side in some places (e.g., the BBQ plate). The restaurant itself is as always. Everything was tidy and in good condition, making it a great place to spend time. Located right next to the Westend subway station, the Block House is also easily accessible by public transport.

Unfortunately, the place was below expectations. The service was poor, taking too long until our table was cleaned from the previous clients and until finally someone came to get our order. The customers service desperately needs an improvement. The meat was tasteless, not juicy, hard to cut. Not worth the price asked. An interest detail as well is the fact that majority of the staff are man. On the day I went there was only one woman serving the tables. An attempt of more gender balance in the environment would be beneficial for the business in my opinion. Last but not least, it would be good if the place have more structure to adapt with the very hot weather on summer time. Letting the windows open doesn’t help, since there is no ventilation. Consider installing AC, fans, otherwise staying indoors is unbearable.

Unfortunately, the salmon was grilled too dry, and I couldn't add more salt because the salt in the shaker had hardened due to moisture. The spinach on the side, however, was extremely oversalted. It was still okay together, but by the time the salmon was gone, the spinach on its own was barely edible. On a previous visit, I had ordered a medium steak, which unfortunately arrived well-done, and I had to return it.

The food itself was very tasty. But for the price, I expected more than about 50g of fries with the steak. The side dishes were generally very small, as my companions and I quickly noticed thanks to the small dollop of mashed potatoes and the small baked potato. Delicious, but you still want to be full.

Absolutely unacceptable experience. Green and yellow cable was found in the food and they did not take responsibility! I’ve been to this place many times, often with colleagues after work, and had considered it a reliable spot—until now. During our recent visit, one of my colleagues found a green and yellow electric cable inside his potato, served with steak. We immediately informed the waiter, who took the cable to the kitchen. After 30 minutes of silence, we asked for an explanation. The response? They claimed no such cable existed in their kitchen and implied we planted it ourselves. Unbelievable. I’ve spent over 330 euros by card here over time—probably more with cash—and this is how customers are treated? Eventually, the waiter returned and offered my colleague a single cup of coffee as compensation. That’s it. When we asked for coffees for the whole table (6 people) as a small gesture after this mess, we were denied again and told to speak to the manager. The manager finally came but had no clear explanation, no sincere apology, and only offered to cancel the charge for the meal with the cable—after we pushed hard. If we hadn’t insisted, would anything have been done? This isn’t just about poor service—this was a serious health hazard. What if someone had swallowed that cable? Shameful handling of a dangerous situation. We won’t be coming back, and I’d advise others to think twice.

This was our first time at the Block House in Frankfurt. The food came quickly and was delicious; the meat was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was nice. Unfortunately, there were problems with the bill. We asked Mr. P. to split the bill into a certain amount. He immediately replied no; we discussed the fact that the amount couldn't be split. My colleague tried to explain why we needed a separate bill, but his point was ignored. I worked in hotels for 13 years; you can split amounts into any desired sum. Mr. P. gave the impression that he didn't want to split the bill into the desired amount, but later gave in and hey presto, the bill could be split after all. When we left, he didn't even look at us and didn't even say goodbye, only his colleague did. Nevertheless, we would be happy to come back.

Hot day in Frankfurt. Did plenty of siteseeing and was tired and hungry mid afternoon. The chap could only serve 33cl glases of beer . Was looking forward to 50cl. Food and service was fine but it is the little things that let a place down.

A cozy block house with a pleasant atmosphere. When the weather's nice, you can even sit outside. The steaks are incredibly tasty and tender, the fries are heavenly, and the service is very friendly. Highly recommended!

We received a friendly welcome upon arrival, and the entire team was attentive, warm, and patient – ​​even with our children. No annoyed eye-rolling, no feeling of stress – on the contrary: we felt completely welcome. The food was, as expected, top-notch: tender steak, perfectly cooked, crispy potato side dishes, fresh salad, and delicious bread to start with. The children's menu is well-thought-out and offers genuine quality – no sloppy "fries with ketchup" solutions, but age-appropriate portions with flavor. We particularly liked how families are naturally valued as guests here – without sacrificing quality or style. The atmosphere is relaxed but upscale. If you're looking for a place where enjoyment, service, and family-friendliness meet, this is the place for you. We'll definitely be back!

The seating is very comfortable. The meat tastes good 👍 and is fresh from the grill. The food is very reasonably priced because everything is included, such as salad and fries.

I like eating here at Blockhose. It's simply a good, old, stable atmosphere with good young bull meat to enjoy. Keis Haus Espresso is great. I don't have to drink it here, but the salad is unique, I'd say. It's been a regular for years. €50 per person, but there's no Merkel bollard in sight. I feel safe.

So, the two of us were here yesterday after a really exhausting day. The mood was immediately lifted by the first waiter! Guys, you can tell you enjoy your work, and that's great. Service 5* plus... I don't need to say much about the food, it was simply amazing... even the salad... :-) Keep up the good work and thank you for the pleasant time. You still know how to treat customers.

What an absolute disgrace. I went to Block House because I actually like their frozen patties — but what I got at the restaurant was a complete joke. They have the audacity to list “hamburger” on the menu, but what they serve doesn’t even qualify as one. A dry patty on one side, a bun on the other — not even assembled. What is this, a history museum exhibit from 1880? It’s 2025. People expect a real burger, not a DIY sandwich kit. Shame on whoever approved that menu.

We spontaneously went to the Blockhaus Essen on May 10th. We ordered two steaks and a kids' burger. We had salad and beef tartare beforehand. The quality of the meat was good, but nothing special. Our steaks arrived at our table as ordered. I would have appreciated a good pinch of salt; there was enough pepper on the steak. The baked potato and the sauces were delicious. The Blockhaus bread with garlic was a blast. The kids' burger was served differently; our short burger was a bit stunned, but without all the bells and whistles, the plate was empty. Except for the fries, which weren't salted and very unloving. I would have preferred a bit more steakhouse style and individuality here. All in all, you can eat well here, but nothing more. Especially for the price, you can expect a bit more.
