Really good tasting steaks! I have known the log cabin for over 20 years and the quality has always been consistently good over the years. Good price/performance ratio The staff could be friendlier and more accommodating. Many people only speak broken German.

Typisches Haus der Kette. Im Großen und Ganzen OK aber auch nichts besonderes. Die Portionen sind zum Preis eher übersichtlich. Vom Geschmack und der Qualität aber in Ordnung. Das beschädigte Gläser an die Gäste verteilt werden, ist peinlich. Vor allem, wenn das Glas offensichtlich nicht erst frisch beschädigt ist. Mehrere Macken am Fuss des Glases. Mit vollem Haus ist das nicht zu erklären, denn viel los war zum Zeitpunkt unseres Besuchs nicht.

Coming from the north, we have known Blockhouse and its quality for a long time. We have been to Frankfurt several times. The quality decreases significantly. The last time we visited a few months ago we weren't so happy anymore. Last week (workday, evening, holidays and hardly any visitors...) Unfriendly service, salad carelessly prepared, fillet steak burnt and overcooked, even though ordered "English". Therefore no longer recommended for the prices. A pity.

The steakhouse is a bit old. Orders were taken incorrectly and by the time the changes were served the steaks were almost cold...

A cheeseburger and a coke for 22,3€ -> see it for yourself on the picture. Neither the quality in taste, nor the visual presentation justifies the price. Thats possibly the worst price/value ratio in the city at the moment

The service was experienced and friendly. You can sit outside in a nice location, but in the long run it's not really comfortable without backrests and padding. The meat and salad dressing were good, but the side dish (fries, probably frozen) and the dessert (gastro ice cream with spray cream) were at best of average standard.

Typical chain house. Overall OK but nothing special either. The portions are rather manageable for the price. But the taste and quality are okay. The fact that damaged glasses are handed out to guests is embarrassing. Especially if the glass is obviously not recently damaged. Several flaws at the base of the glass. This can't be explained by a full house, because there wasn't much going on at the time of our visit.

**Restaurant Review: Blockhouse, Frankfurt** I recently visited Blockhouse in Frankfurt with my 8-year-old son. We chose to sit outside to enjoy the pleasant weather. Shortly after, the manager approached us in a very unwelcoming manner, instructing us to remove outside food. While this policy is understandable, the condescending and cold delivery of the message was unnecessary and lacked empathy. This interaction forced me to ask my son to finish his small sushi pieces outside, near the street, which was disheartening. Despite ordering food from their restaurant, the manager showed no concern or understanding. Even the general manager seemed indifferent to our situation. On a positive note, one of the other employees attempted to improve our experience by offering free ice cream, which was a kind gesture. Additionally, I took a steak to go, which was decent. However, the manager's dismissive attitude overshadowed these positives. I would also suggest reconsidering the ambiance; playing American country music might give a misleading impression that outside food is allowed, akin to some American restaurants. Unfortunately, the overall atmosphere was not welcoming, reflecting a cultural coldness I've observed elsewhere in Germany. In summary, while the food was satisfactory, the lack of hospitality was disappointing. Improvement in customer service is essential for a better dining experience.

Steakhouse in Frankfurt's Westend: The usual food in steakhouses, not worse, but also not better than anywhere else. Unfortunately it was no longer hot when it was served. The waitress had no idea, was not yet well trained and caused chaos in service and billing.

We hadn't reserved a table but got one outside on the terrace. The staff were friendly and the food was great. Even though the restaurant was right on the main street, you hardly noticed any traffic. We would love to come back when we are here.

No atmosphere. You don't hear anything because of the music. You cannot have a normal conversation. The service was horrible. Not attentive, rude and disinterested. The food wasn't that good either.

Burgers come on a piece of garlic baguette without a lid, the whole thing is called a New York Cheese Burger. Oh well. Service was courteous, Radeberger Pils was fresh. The ambience is a bit outdated.

I came here again after 6 years and was disappointed to find that the steaks are no longer the same as the ones I ate there 6 years ago. It's a shame, I think that was the last time 🥲

Wir waren abends zur Essenzeit da und hatten einen Tisch draußen, der noch nicht abgeräumt war. Nach 10Minuten Warten, machten wir auf uns aufmerksam. Der Kellner kam und sagte, es dauere noch einen kleinen Moment. Nach weiteren 10Minuten, in denen ein Pärchen in Empfang genommen wurde, ihr Tisch abgeräumt und abgewischt wurde und die Bestellung aufgenommen wurde, unser Tisch war nach wie mit Gläsern und Flaschen vollgestellt, sind wir gegangen.

Me and my girlfriend ordered a T-bone for two, it took almost 45 minutes to come, twice for me to ask updates and when it finally arrived it was horribly plated (we didn’t even take a picture of it that’s how bad it was looking), uneven sear and no way near close the medium rare that we asked. Waiter could say it might take long time, or inform us at all. 60€ for the steak and 1 drink and this is the experience that we got. Very disappointing from a steak house, really amateur and disrespectful. Never again.

We went here for dinner this afternoon. The waitress was a very friendly, attentive woman who loved children. The child received a coloring sheet and crayons with their order, the food first and a small gift when paying. We were very happy with the food, the steaks were perfect. The ambience was right and also the weather for sitting outside. The entire staff was very friendly. We'd love to come back.

Zwei große Pommes bestellt, etwas zum Trinken. Service relativ unhöflich - jung und abgehoben. Wir wollten in Bar zahlen (mit 2€-Stücken), das wollten sie erst nicht annehmen, und diskutierten erst, bis wir damit zahlen durften…

Absolutely embarrassing..Fillet was ordered medium rare, ribeye medium rare, what we got after a long wait was an absolute joke for me as a chef..Fillet and ribeye were both well done and inedible, after a complaint was made by annoyed staff, and after another wait of almost 30 minutes we received our steaks again..both rare and ice cold..my companion lost her appetite and her steak was complained about and not charged for..I simply ate mine..for A STEAKHOUSE that specializes in meat is absolutely embarrassing and the chef should be thrown out. There were no apologies, just cheeky looks and the sarcastic remark that we should cut our steaks directly to see if we like it this time... sorry, but that's real embarrassing for the standard you advertise

ABSOLUTE DISGRACE. We ordered a medium rare ribeye and a medium filet mignon. They brought us two steaks that were BEYOND well-done...we politely asked to send it back. Our waitress (female, brunette with blonde highlights) was extremely rude about it as if our request wasnt reasonable. They came back with our order. this time it was RAW. and i dont mean rare it was still cold in the middle. my boyfriend still ate his, but as I ordered a medium so seeing as it was nowhere near what I had wanted I said i didnt want it anymore. (my appetite was gone at this point even though I was really hungry when we got there) Waitress was passive aggressive eventhough we were still being nice about THEIR shortcomings. We shouldnt have been, in retrospect. I ended up not paying for mine but my boyfriend did and there was not even an apology. embarrassing, really.... serving customers and making steaks doesnt seem to be part of the skillset in this establishment. Ill go to the downtown blockhouse from now on.

We always enjoyed going to this restaurant during our stays in Frankfurt. Now never again! This service is beyond substandard, outrageous and at the end the waiter even threatened me. We ate well and after the plates were cleared, we sat alone at the table for an hour. No waiter, no coffee, no water, no dessert. Our wine bottle was empty and we would have liked to have another coffee. The restaurant was only 1/3 full, so almost empty. When we finally found a “waiter” to pay the bill and we asked him why we couldn’t order coffee and dessert, he became rude. So no tip (we never do that). When I went out I had my phone in my hand and he thought I had taken a photo of him. Threatened me and said he would call the police. I only took a selfie 😉 Conclusion: after many years there, despite the good food, NEVER GO TO THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN! Oh, we'll let the Block family know about it.

What a lovely Sunday treat I walked to here in Frankfurt. For my first time in the city, I went out walking around when the weather was nice and stumbled upon this place. They claim to have the best steaks since 1960 somethin. The steak itself was pretty good but the deserts & baked potato stole the show for me. The garlic bread and wine is also lowkey veryyy yummy! It has a nice outdoor seating area where you can enjoy the nice weather. If you go here, you must try desserts!

We've been there several times. We have always been super satisfied until we were there recently. The service was worse than it had been in a long time. They didn't listen at all, we got the wrong food and then the steak came with the wrong degree of doneness. Otherwise, as always, it was very tasty. Until next time, hopefully with better service :)

There is a very pleasant atmosphere in the Block House Westend. The staff is very friendly. You can dine here for lunch and dinner on business occasions.

Service was good, the rest can be given away. 2 class Pilsner, 2 small cokes, 1 bottle of water and 4 below average steaks for €187. You can expect a lot more for the money. At home we ate our fill of chips. This has nothing to do with West End prices. You probably have to save money on everything!

The taste of the food was okay, although the vegetables were unfortunately a bit overcooked. Ambience not really my taste. Outdated furniture and the slightly upscale cuisine (at least in terms of price) don't go together for me. Parking situation rather unfavorable.

We loved coming here to eat during our hour-long lunch break. Both the ambience and the lavish and daily changing lunch offerings with freshly put together salad from the buffet are positive. BUT: The service has neither respect nor decency. After we had finished our meal around 12:40 p.m., my colleague very politely asked one of the service staff (it's never obvious which lady is responsible for which table) if she could bring us the bills. After more than 10 minutes and still no one brought us the bills, we politely asked for them again. The waitress who walked past gave us an obviously annoyed look and preferred to loudly speak negatively about us to her colleague. After another 5 minutes, the lady finally came to our table in a rage and literally lectured us... "We should be patient".... We were all very embarrassed because other guests had already joined us looked. By the way, I can mention at this point that the restaurant was far from full at this point! Of course, none of us gave a tip, which is why the lady made a visibly angry face and turned away without saying “thank you” or “goodbye”. Impossible... None of us have ever been verbally attacked in a restaurant. We sincerely hope that our constructive criticism will be taken to heart and that this tone will have consequences! In any case, you have lost us as customers :(

Tried again and again and always disappointed. System gastronomy that wants to be noble. Burger served carelessly and dry on a slice of bread, frozen fries, cole slaw side dish the size of a teaspoon. Sirloin steak mediocre. Same atmosphere for 20 years. But the worst was the waitress. Short, disinterested and constantly stressed, even though it wasn't full. Checking off guests quickly was probably the most important thing. Forgotten drinks, empty plates not cleared away, never asked if there were any more requests. An awkward “I’ll be right back” when we wanted to order something else. Unfortunately that never happened. The lady only took a lot of time when talking to men dining alone and was even able to smile. I had to get up and go to her because we were going to pay after trying to get her attention for 10 minutes. But she was talking and then smooched the guest. No attention to the guests and a zero-interest attitude. That was my last attempt. I can't understand the good reviews here because of the quality of the food alone. Bad and expensive.

It could be modernized again, otherwise it will fit well

One of my favorite places for a business lunch, where you can enjoy the high quality of the steaks with fried potatoes and fresh salad with Italian sauce. The service is good, the food is delicious and I love it. The interior is so beautiful

It's a wonderful steak restaurant that I come to for more than one meal every time I travel to Germany, and I have never encountered anything negative in any of them. The menu is simple and every alternative is delicious. It feels good inside with its warm atmosphere and regulars. Always good and fast service.

Good LUNCH menu, unfortunately since the wave of inflation the prices have been adjusted upwards several times, but still a good selection in the Westend area.

A handful of family and friends recommended BlockHouse so I took the family there on my recent trip to Germany. As a party of 5, 4 had steaks and 1 had Salmon. I ordered the standard Filet Mignon dinner which came with a small dinner salad and baked potato. I also had a side of French Onion Soup. The soup was extremely salty. Hoping it was an anomaly, my salad was simple, with Iceberg lettuce and typical salad ingredients that had slight fennel flavor mixed in. The "American" dressing was good, also having a sweet fennel undertone. Baked potato was typical, fine. BUT, my Filet was Not Good. Yes, the "hero" on the plate was truly disappointing. I'm not sure it was a Filet as the grain of the meat was oddly sideways rather than up and down like typical Filet would be. I had to use a lot of effort just to cut my Med Rare cut. It was disappointing to say the least because I don't eat beef that often. So, to be let down by a Steakhouse was truly disappointing. Service was friendly and good but the servers could clearly see me fighting with my steak knife, just to "carve" pieces of meat to chew and chew I did. And no offer to make another steak was offered even though they could see the trouble I was having. Filets are classically tender. This was NOT a Filet Mignon and because of that, I cannot recommend this restaurant, even though my counterparts were mostly happy with their meals. Truth be told, if this happened in a nicer restaurant in the states, I would have been quickly offered a replacement steak and so it seems that in this case, German-run eateries would rather have me leave unhappy rather than throw a 5 dollar/euro replacement (their cost) on the grill to keep a happy customer for future visits. Overall this is a nice enough place to eat but I really wish I could have reported differently about MY experience. Go but be aware that if your good is not right, you will have to really speak up and hopefully get satisfaction...

It is very crowded there in the evenings, so you should reserve a table. Otherwise the service and the ambience are very good. Food was served as requested. Parking situation is very bad there.

Unfortunately, the service really needed to be improved. At the beginning you were greeted immediately and an order was taken. But things got worse and worse towards the end. The main course was brought, but not even the starter plates were cleared away, even though waiters ran past several times. Unfortunately there was no permanent waiter. After the main course was over, it took longer until someone came and cleared away. I asked for the bill. No dessert or coffee was offered, I would have taken another. However, our child was well looked after and provided with painting supplies. It's a shame, given this price range and the standard of service, I would have expected more service.

It used to be better, the portions are smaller but the prices are higher... unfortunately my steak was only lukewarm... you can get better and cheaper elsewhere

We got a place without pre-booking, but close to the kitchen. It was very restless and loud here. The food was great. We had really great Mrs. Rumpsteak. The waitresses tried very hard to take care of the guests. The neighboring table with kids also received pens and coloring sheets for the little ones.

Wer Steaks liebt ist hier genau richtig! Gute Fleischqualität, sehr aufmerksamer Service, kurze Wartezeiten, gut geeignet mit kleinen Kindern. Seit Corona ist es etwas teuer geworden, aber es lohnt sich immer noch. Geheim-Tipp: geht einmal dahin, wenn ihr Geburtstag habt und traut euch, es der Bedienung wissen zu lassen. Es gibt eine kleine Überraschung, die in Erinnerung bleibt!

Das Tenderloin Steak habe ich ca. 2020-2021 für 31,50€ bestellt. knapp 3-4 Jahre später kostet es stolze 44€ !!! Klar alles ist teurer geworden und ich habe mir die ca 38€ für das Tenderloin zuletzt noch mit Inflation etc. zusammen reimen können. Die erneute Preiserhöhung bewegt mich allerdings dazu Block House den Rücken zu kehren und in Zukunft andere Gastronomiebetriebe aufzusuchen. Fast 50% Aufpreis innerhalb von 3-4 Jahren finde ich inakzeptabel.

Das Essen erfüllt keine gehobenen Standards, aber ist definitiv solide. Bisschen wie IKEA bei Möbeln. Paar Sehnen im Steak (großes Ribeye), bisschen viel Fleischsaft auf dem Teller für Medium, aber ist ok, Geschmack hat es. Block House ist sehr beliebt, von daher immer sehr voll. Wir hatten Glück und haben nach 20:00 Uhr direkt einen Platz bekommen. Dadurch, dass es fast voll ist (eigentlich immer), und der Service sehr freundlich und auf viele Gäste geduldig eingeht, ist er leider etwas langsam. Ich habe mir meine Menükarten selbst geholt, damit wir nicht warten müssen. In anderen Restaurants bekommt man diese direkt bei der Platzeinweisung, aber hier hat man das offenbar versäumt. Das Ambiente ist mit gutem Licht abgestimmt, eher rustikale Möbel, und da es voll ist, ist es natürlich auch etwas laut. Alles in allem guter Durchschnitt.

Hier bekommt man immer problemlos einen platz, auch ohne Reservierung. Die Preise sind recht hoch, aber noch in Ordnung. Der Service ist super nett und fix. Die Atmosphäre ist locker und nicht gezwungen, man kann hier auch entspannt mit seinen Kindern hin. Ich persönlich finde den Salat mit American Dressing sehr gut und empfehlenswert.

Service sehr gut, Essen sehr gut. Meist geringe Wartezeit auch bei recht vollem Restaurant. Preis-Leistung gut, auch wenn die Preise (leider typisch für vernünftiges Steak) erstmal recht hoch im Vergleich zu anderen (nicht Steak) Restaurants erscheinen. Das Kindermenu war spitze, das Kind begeistert! Je nach Tag und Uhrzeit problemlos ohne Reservierung oder eben gerappelt voll.

The steak was pretty good. The meat was delicious and had just enough fat that it was enjoyable. The restaurant was very elegant and clean. It had a nice ambience and good selection of music. The staff was friendly and great as well. Overall it was a good experience and h would probably come again. The filet mignon was the best of the 3 steaks we tried. And the garlic bread was fantastic! 🤌🏼🤌🏼

War wie immer sehr lecker! Wir hatten heute von der Sonderkarte die Erbsencremesuppe und das 350 g Dry Aged Rumpsteak am Knochen mit Kartoffelpüree mit Sour Cream sowie die Bull Soup und die Fitness-Pfanne mit Pfeffer-Sauce von der normalen Karte. Leider gibt es die Fitness-Pfanne Asia mit der leckeren Teriyaki-Sauce nicht mehr. Schade!

Gute Steakhouse-Kette aber die Optik könnte ein facelift gut vertragen. Hier kann man leckere Steaks bestellen und auf den Genuss von Steaks kommen. Die Burger werden auf einem Stück Knoblauchbrot serviert.

Waren nach einem Jahr wieder zur Weihnachtsfeier da. Bedienung gut. Essen war leider so das jedem 2ten. Schlecht war und das ohne saufen. Eine Angestellte fiel 7 Tage aus. Leider hatte sie als einzige das Rindertatar und das hat durchgehauen. 7 Tage. Pommes 🍟 leider auch ungenügend und die Portionsgrösse nimmt leider ab. Der Preis nicht. Seit langer Zeit waren wir am 26.12.2023 spontan (zwischen 17 und 18 Uhr) mal wieder im Blockhouse. Sehr erfreulich war, dass sowohl Qualität des Essens und des Services wie gewohnt sehr zufriedenstellend geblieben sind. Zuvorkommende, aufmerksame und sehr freundliche Bedienung. Die Steaks auf den Punkt zubereitet und Salat und Beilagen sehr lecker. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder (öfter). DANKE!

Amazing steak, it comes with salad, potato and the best garlic bread ever. I have asked to switch the potato with fries and they were delicious. Steak is medium-cooked, i would have asked for a medium-well since it was very red for me but tasted exceptionally well. Not expensive for what you get, definitely recommend!

Este restaurant comete los tipicos errores de las cadenas de restaurantes. Los garzones atienden de forma muy poco amable y la comida se nota que no es 100% fresca. Mi pedido fueron los medallones de filete con papas gratinadas, la carne estaba bien cocida en el punto solicitado, pero los vegetales que la acompañaban eran claramente vegetales congelados, de textura blanda y sin mucho sabor. Las papas al gratin se sentieron un poco acidas. Mi esposo pidio la NY cheeseburger y claro, al garzon nos explico de una forma muy poco amable de que estas hamburguesas son al plato, sin pan. Solo acompañadas de queso, unas papas fritas y un poco de lechuga. No volveria.

Just a very basic steakhouse, at a European standard. It may impress Germans, but for the average North American, you’ll walk away going blah. Totally overpriced for both the service and food you get.

Jeder bekommt eine 2. Chance. Zuletzt hatte ich ja etwas Pech gehabt. Aber die 2. Chance ist gehörig schief gegangen. Gäste die nach mir kamen, bekamen Vorspeise und Hauptgericht und ich bloß den Salat. Ich musste nach einer Stunde (Mittagspause) gehen. Keine richtige Entschuldigung. Kein richtiges Bedauern. Kein "in 5 Minuten haben Sie es" oder "Kann ich Ihnen zumindest noch etwas Salat und Brot mitgeben, damit Sie noch etwas unterwegs essen können". Der Kellner und die Führungskraft diskutieren noch, ob sie mir noch den Salat berechnen sollen, aber die Führungskraft entscheidet, dass ich nichts zahlen muss. Ich ärgere mich und schreibe an die Hamburger Zentrale. Es kam eine Stellungnahme zurück. Sie laden mich zu einer Vorspeise ein. Was sie nicht wissen konnten: ich habe einen kleineren Magen, also für mich nicht eine echte Freude (aber es heißt ja "Einem geschenkten Gaul (hier besser Rind) schaut man nicht ins Maul) war das nicht. Ein Gutschein und ich hätte selbst entscheiden können, wäre mir lieber gewesen. Aber aller Guten Dinge sind drei und schön, dass die Zentrale das aufgearbeitet hat. So kann man es ja nochmals versuchen.
