Only recommended. The service as well as the quality of the meat and the wines are excellent. The conditions were all more than friendly and attentive. Nothing more is needed! Keep it up!

The food was absolutely delicious without exception. The steaks are a dream. Service attentive. The side dishes could have been a little more substantial, given the price... Overall, the ambience was pleasant, just a little drafty where we sat. We would come back, but only on special occasions due to the high prices.

Excellent steak restaurant. Very high quality food and very friendly staff. If you don't like it so salty, you should ask for a little salt on the steaks. The ambience is very nice, unfortunately not much on the corner, but only opposite seating options and therefore a bit of a deduction, but otherwise great... Very expensive in terms of price.

We simply waited 50 minutes for food and you expect good food, the meat was just very cold and dry, not recommended at all.

A 10% tip is automatically added, but there is no shortage of food and The service was perfect. I ordered an extra plate and the steak was warm enough to eat. You gave it to me.

Not cheap, but good. Focus on steaks 300-400 grams. It can also be heavier. Meat perfectly prepared and of good quality. Annoying: Steaks are “solo”, side dishes have to be ordered (for a fee). Our "waiter", and I can only judge this one, lacked a certain servility. I felt like he was gracious enough to tolerate us as (paying) guests. By the way: The steak knives on the table require a firearms license elsewhere... 😉😉

If you are looking for a good selection of stakes in Frankfurt, you have come to the right place. The service was courteous and the food was perfectly prepared. First of all we had a mixed platter with a very good tuna tartare. The chocolate mousse is a must for dessert.

Not big, stylishly decorated and a very attentive staff. The dishes are incredible. The meat is perfectly grilled, the side dishes and starters such as spinach, king prawns or the garlic potato puree round off a perfect meal in terms of taste. Top wine list and simply the perfect place for a special business dinner or dinner.

If you only order filet mignon it's ok, other meat is unfortunately hard/tough. Overall too expensive.

We asked for a menu to the waiter and they said it was not possible because the owner should be explaining the meat selection. The owner came and basically he managed an appetizer according to his own desire without option to choose our food. Same for main course he showed 4 pierces of meet and it didn’t look as we had other options. He forced to order wine as well with bottles that costs 15 euros were priced 80 eur . They tried to force dessert as well but we became wiser on the journey. No price was showed anywhere and we ended up in paying 620 eur in 5 person for appetizers and a 400 gr of average meat cooked with a lot of butter. Definitely not recommended

One word: they are just stealing your money. Overpriced bad cuisine is a classic in Westend, but I decided to write a little review because The Black Bulls is probably the worst in the art of food fraud 🤣 Picture that: Is a restaurant with menu published outside. You enter and you take your sit. A man arrives showing you a platter of classic steaks cut (raw and foil wrapped). They clearly have no clue about butcher’s cuts or beef breeds and ignore any questions going in that direction. No menu either. Without any other details this could be an average supermarket choice (a note to the reader from an italian immigrant such as the writer: local supermarket and open markets are quite equipped in Frankfurt for beef steak cuts). This will be of extreme importance later in the review: NO MENU. JUST PLATTER. Not just to me or to the group of japanese behind me that didn’t want any beef: NO ONE WAS ALLOWED TO CONSULT A MENU. I could observed all tables after mine completing their order: the man clearly forced each and every table to pick from this creepy platter of foil wrapped cut. Including the two japanese ladies that didn’t want ant beef. I know I am repeating myself. Anyway. You order a “New York Dry Age Steak”. An absolutely normal cut that you can find in the local supermarket (called “Rewe”). You recall “45€” from the menu published outside (price that was lifted from 38€ vs some years before. i attached an old pic). You order the dry age steak. It arrives. You eat. You go and pay. I attached the bill with a couple of funny details. The waiter at the speed of light adds 10% of automatic tip and stamp it over to conceal his greediness. At my stern interrogation on why he may have done so he answers “tip is already included sir, don’t worry” (you think: “I guess this works in making turist assumes that this is the common practice here”). But that’s not the interesting part of the bill The already overpriced supermarket steaks is now chrged 51€… more than what you recall. You check the menu exposed outside: is still 45€. You enter again. You interrogate the waiters on the reasons and you receive the following answers: “45€ on the card, but 51€ from the plate”. Remember when I told you about the fact that no one was allowed to read the menu? Exactly… this was designed to stage the lucrative scheme. So now I wonder: 1) why the hell they didn’t charge those 12€ of margin across my bottle of water, potatoes and glass of wine like any normal dishonest restaurant? 2) I understand the fake tip of 6€: i hope it gets in the waiters pockets… but why, as a waiter, you do all this theatre to make your employer earn 6€ more on each steaks? Anyway: welcome in Westend, Frankfurt 🤣

It used to be really good...unfortunately not recommended at all anymore. Service tried very hard, but somehow overwhelmed. Unfortunately, the quality of the food is no longer the same as it used to be... Very disappointing...unfortunately we won't be coming back.

Wie immer sehr gut. Dry aged filet Mignon mit Pilzen und Kartoffel. Guter wein und sehr aufmerksame und freundliche Bedienung. Lediglich der Lautstärke Pegel war kurz etwas hoch aber es wurde sich darum gekümmert. Nichts zu bemängeln.

Food was amazing! Waiters were so kind and caring! BUT, they were missing organized way of working. The waitress asked for our dessert’s order, after a long time waiting, another waitress came and ask if we like to order dessert!!! We asked for bill to pay, they forgot us and we had to again remind them. Our table was next to window and draft of wind was so much which even could move the leaf of plants!! Generally, in this type of restaurant, the customer looks for a good service in addition to good food. There is still plenty of room for service improvement in this restaurant. Will we visit there again? YES, and hopefully we will get better organized service!

Das The Black Bulls ist weiterhin ein Garant in Frankfurt am Main wenn es um leckere Steaks geht. Anfang Dezember 2023 habe ich erneut ein wunderbares Mittagessen genossen. Der Service war wie eh und je sehr aufmerksam und der Fleischspieß hat ausgezeichnet gemundet. Auch in 2024 werde ich wieder das Restaurant in der Bockenheimer Landstraße besuchen!

Sehr schönes Ambiente, gehobene Preisklasse aber durchaus gerechtfertigt. Durch unglückliche Umstände und ohne Reservierung angefragt und man hat uns kurzfristig mit sechs Personen einen wunderschönen Abend ermöglicht. Danke dafür!!!

It was good to go to once. I was in the area and walked by, and I was able to be seated immediately. I was by myself, not sure if that was what impacted the experience, but the server seemed to be more interested in tables with more people. The food was good but not super memorable. Nice presentation, though.

Wir waren gestern Abend dort und ich muss sagen die Location und vor allem der Service war top. Hier wird man super gut beraten und alle mitarbeiten sind sehr sehr freundlich. Das Steak und die Vorspeise waren auch lecker.

Das Black Bulls sagt uns vorallem - natürlich neben dem guten Essen - aufgrund seines angenehmen Ambientes zu. Das Restaurant ist stylisch eingerichtet und das leicht gedämmte Licht lässt eine gemütliche Stimmung aufkommen. Die Auswahl der Speisen ist gut, das Fleisch wird genau so zubereitet, wie man es bestellt - raw, medium, well-done. Das Personal ist freundlich. Die Parkplatzsituation gestaltet sich, entsprechend dem Frankfurter Westend mit den zahlreichen Anwohnerparkplätzen, etwas schwierig, aber händelbar.

Der Service ist stets sehr persönlich und berät den Gast perfekt nach seinen individuellen Wünschen. Das Filet Mignon der Klassiker. Aber auch alle anderen Steakangebote sind von bester Qualität und werden in diversen Garstufen serviert. Die Weinkarte ist mit den besten Tropfen aus den klassischen Anbauregionen Europas und der neuen Welt bestückt. Nicht zu vergessen die Digestif Auswahl. Ein Traum für jeden Genießer!

Kellner vergessen Allergiepräferenzen und suchen die Schuld beim Gast. Auch koffeinfreier Kaffee wurde vergessen und bewusst koffeinhaltiger serviert - ganze Nacht kaum geschlafen. Bestellungen kamen unvollständig. Essen gut, aber bei dem Preis erwartet man einen ehrlichen und aufmerksameren Service.

We went there for a dinner. Food was nice. Service was very late but their big mistake is that they increase the bill at the end by 10 percent. When we asked why, they told us that it is the service fee. It was not written on the menu and it is not acceptable. No other restaurant in Frankfurt did it. We like to give tips but it has it to be up to us. So we advise you (especially if you're a tourist) to avoid this kind of traps.

Exzellente Steaks und ein aufmerksamer und äusserst sympathischer Service! Wir fühlen uns hier immer sehr wohl.

Ein schönes gemütliches Steakhouse. Wir wurden sehr aufmerksam und freundlich bedient. Das Rib Eye musste gut gewürzt werden und leider kamen diese erst, als wir bereits angefangen hatten zu essen. Vorab gab es ein kleines Stück Oktupus auf Blattspinat. Die Qualität des Fleisches war für mich okay aber nicht überragend für die Preisgestaltung und erstaunlicherweise gab es nur einen Whisky (peated). Mit dem Argument von Lieferungsproblemen wurde ich vertröstet, was z.B. bei einem Ardbeg 10 Jahre nicht nachvollziehbar ist.

Irgendwie kann man den Laden nicht so recht ernst nehmen. Bei der Reservierungsanfrage am Telefon wurde erst einmal so getan, als müsste man schauen, ob noch was möglich ist, bevor bestätigt wurde. Beim Besuch (ein Samstagabend) war dann maximal ein Viertel der Tische besetzt. Ich weiß nicht, warum man versucht, sich so künstlich aufzuwerten. Was ebenfalls gestört hat, waren die doch recht penetranten und häufigen Versuche, uns immer wieder Wasser-/Weinflaschen anzudrehen. Dieses Verhalten begann bereits kaum nachdem wir uns an den Tisch gesetzt hatten und bevor überhaupt eine Speisekarte ausgehändigt wurde. Wenn Gäste lieber Bier zum Essen trinken, sollte man dies akzeptieren. Das Tartar als Vorspeise war nicht sonderlich gut, da hätte man einfach rohes Hackfleisch von der Supermarkttheke löffeln können, das hätte keinen großen Unterschied gemacht. Die Steaks waren ok, preislich in Anbetracht der Qualität allerdings auch nicht wirklich angemessen. Insgesamt noch wohlwollende 3 Sterne, da man doch irgendwo bemüht war, aber ingesamt reiht man sich mit zahlreichen anderen Steakhäusern in Frankfurt ein. Es wird ein scheinbar gehobenes Image verkauft, am Ende geht es aber größtenteils doch nur um Umsatz und nicht um Stammkundenbindung und Qualität - wofür ich gerne bereit wäre, auch etwas mehr zu zahlen.

Good variety of cuts and origins of beef too choose from. Ordered a 400g dry aged rib steak along with two sides. The steak was cooked to perfection and both sides were delicious. The service was good and the waiter provided good recommendations. A steakhouse I would come back to if I’m back in Frankfurt. Do try and make reservation before coming, it was full house when I visited on a Sunday evening. 🇸🇬

Bestellt waren Steak‘s, das Fleisch war sehr gut. Leider war nur ein Gedeck auf dem Tisch, erst nach dem Hinweis und das Essen kam wurde ein zweites hinzugefügt. Das Steak Nr.35 war auch sehr klein, die 30 war fasst doppelt so groß, die Steaks hatten jeweils 200gr.. Wir hätten uns auch eine Salz und Pfeffermühle in einem Steakhaus auf dem Tisch gewünscht. Getränke sind leider online nicht einsehbar und unserer Meinung etwas zu teuer, leider haben wir einen Fehler in der Rechnung erst zuhause erkannt, selber Schuld. Die Bohnen mit Speck und Tomate waren nach unserem Geschmack zerkocht. Vielleicht bin ich zu penibel! Bitte mal das Herren-WC begutachten und eventuell instand setzen.

Es war eine Notlösung, weil die anderen Restaurants entweder bereits ausgebucht waren oder zu viele Gänge hatten, 3 sind für abends genug. Es war ein schöner Abend. Die Vorspeise Oktopus auf Spinat war zwar lauwarm, aber das sollte so sein. Dennoch wollte ich ihn heiß Das Hauptgericht 300 gr. Dry Age und halber Hummer war perfekt. Wurde sehr heiß serviert. Den Hummerschwanz hätte man von der Schale lösen sollen. Das Fleisch war außen etwas trocken, innen aber perfekt gegart und sehr zart. Über den Nachtisch kann man nicht meckern. Das Auge hat mitgegessen. Service war optimal, nette Menschen.

Das Black Bulls im Frankfurter Westend ist weiterhin die Adresse für Fleischliebhaber. Das Filet Mignon kann ich wärmstens empfehlen. Der Service ist stets sehr aufmerksam und herzlich!

For a spontaneous and friendly night out, the restaurant did not meet our expectations one bit. The meat was too chewy and not tender at all, despite the fact we were offered the "best" piece of Tomahawk steak and fillet. When staff asked us about out opinion, we shared our feedback at the beginning of the meal without receiving an alternative option. Service was sub-par and the meal certainly highly overpriced for the low quality that was provided.

Wir waren das zweite Mal dort. Beim ersten Besuch war alles Top. Beim zweiten mal war das nichts (Filet war mit Sehnen und Fett durchzogen und auch nicht besonders zart. Für EUR 50 gibt es da besseres in Frankfurt). Bedienungen waren überfordert. Nachtisch kam überhaupt nicht. Um ehrlich zu sein, das war nicht mal Mittelklasse ....

Located a bit off the main tourist paths but in a very classy neighborhood you’ll find a high class steakhouse. So don’t expect it to be very cheap but the prices are still reasonable Definitely worth a visit.

Für mich ist das Black Bulls weiterhin die Nr. 1 in Frankfurt/M., wenn es um Steak & Co. geht. Der Service ist legendär und die Fleischgerichte werden absolut nach Wunsch gegrillt. Im Freien lässt es sich im Sommer auf der Terrasse wohlergehen!

Die Qualität der Speisen und der Service entsprechen dem Preisniveau. Das Steak selbst war bedingungslos zart ohne geschmackliche Überraschungen (US Beef eben). Die Kruste auf dem Steak war sichtbar und gleichmäßig vorhanden, nicht zu viel, nicht zu wenig - sehr schön! Serviert wird auf einem extrem heißen Teller, das Steak gart also am Platz noch deutlich nach. Wer "medium rare" bestellt bekommt unteres Limit "medium rare", kann jedoch am Ende bei medium landen, wenn man zu lange wartet. Da man kein Thermometer verfügbar hat, ist das eventuell mehr Blindflug, als manch einer auf dem Niveau möchte. Zudem hätte ich erwartet, dass man mit der Antwort "55 bis 56 Grad" auf die Frage nach dem Gargrad umgehen kann. Auf dem Preisniveau sollte man das schon recht genau bekommen (ohne Nachgaren auf dem Teller), genau dafür geht man in solche eher am oberen Ende angesiedelten Steak-Lokale und gibt den Wert eines Wochenendeinkaufs für die Familie für ein Steak aus. Das ist jedoch ein Steak-Nerd-Problem (zu viel "Meatheaven"), das dem insgesamt sehr guten Gesamteindruck keinen wirklichen Abbruch tut. Komme gerne wieder.

I will preface this review with the notation I enjoy a great steak and endeavor to continue my search. The ambiance is very nice and the service was quite good. The food was marginal at best. Tuna was over soy sauced, veggies a bit too much butter and the steak (fillet) really tough for the cut. I struggled to find the right salt/pepper combination to finish but failed as I realized it was the meat and not the spice. More like a round-steak consistency I guess. Wine selection was good and I did not try the desert. Resturant was a 6/10 on my scale due to the large portion size. Advise? Increase your prices and find better cuts of beef.

We had to walk 20 minutes to reach the restaurant but it was worth it. The flavors are rich and the staff is sooooooo nice. They even created a small salad so that my wife doesn't feel leftout without an appetizer. It's really great

The place is a traditional old-fashioned "american" steak house. Very friendly and professional staff. The food is AMAZING. The most well-cooked and tasty steak I ever had. The quality of the meat is exceptional. We were a table a four so we tasted different cuts (fillet, rib-eye, etc.). Everything was more than good. Even the sides. Very tasty and well-cooked also. Finally, the dessert was OK, nothing to remember but the overall experience is for sure something that I will remember for long! Prices are more than average, but it worths a visit in a special occasion.

I have travelled to Frankfurt for work for 30 years now. Only a couple of years ago did I come across the restaurant and since then it has been a regular pilgrimage spot for the best steak. The service is friendly and welcoming, the wine and beer list complete and the steak menu without compare. Invariably perfectly cooked to personal requirement with a great selection of vegetables, I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone (except a vegetarian or vegan of course although even they may be tempted!).

Cosy, traditional, classic style steakhouse, located close to the Palmengarten expo centre. Old school opulence, great choices for carnivores and traditional, luxury service. Starters & steaks were excellent in quality and portion size, with a great wine list as a bonus. Not a budget restaurant by any means, but a superb experience and great for special occasions

I don't know if I was scammed, but I was charged for porcini and served king oyster mushrooms. Nevertheless, if they expect the customer to accept and stay put, this will not work. Also unusual for Germany, they charge tips by default, a hefty %, one even gets politely asked if the service charge (clearly marked as tip on the printed bill) should be cash or card. A real pity as the steaks are good, but the owners far too greedy. To be avoided.

So I’m not a huge meat eater and always find steak houses overpriced and just don’t like/love it as much as others do. However when we tried The Black Bulls, I was pleasantly surprised! Their food was excellent from their soup of the day, salads, cold/hot starters to their side dishes, steaks, huge burger for the kids and deserts! And...compared to other Frankfurt steak houses, I found this place on the “cheaper” price level! Anybody that thinks this place is expensive hasn’t been to a proper steak house in Frankfurt! Excellent value! I would highly recommend this place! I walked away having actually enjoyed my dinner so much that I’m going back again this week with more friends and family!

The place is very nice, Service is Perfect. You need a reservation there. The food was amazing. And BIG portions. It is expensive but its worth it.

I didn't clock how pricey this was when checking it out online. We all had steaks and they were good quality. There didn't seem to be that much difference between my rare steak and the other medium rare ones mind, and they were served with a bizarre barbecue sauce (on the side thankfully). Sides, fries, salad or veg all extra, and were OK, though the cottage fries (wedges) were especially good. The wine list was on the expensive side - nothing until €30 - went for one of the least expensive reds and it was fine, if a bit tannic. The service was good, all very attentive. The setting was much smarter than I was expecting I guess; given the the rather down market name, I was expecting something else - not white table cloths, linen napkins and a posh wine list. It was all very pleasant and we enjoyed our night, but there wasn't a particular USP that compels me to say people have to go there.

Had dinner at Black Bulls with two colleagues in a warm July evening. Despite presence of few outdoor tables we opted for an inside accommodation (quiet, clean and relaxed) and service from Michele was excellent. We had a very good medium-rare fillet with a good Tuscan red wine and a wide selection of side courses. Price on the very high end side but great experiences. Grappa was offered at the end of the dinner.

First off, the staff are fantastic, helpful and happy - so that is a good start. The meet was cooked to perfection and the wine collection is seriously impressive. However this is NOT a cheap restaurant to eat.
