UNIKAT Gastro GmbH in Cuxhaven

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wir waren abends mit Freunden dort etwas trinken und hatten einen richtig schönen Abend. Die Getränke waren super – lecker, gut gemischt und schön angerichtet. Was aber wirklich herausgestochen hat, war der Service. So eine schnelle, aufmerksame und unglaublich freundliche Bedienung erlebt man nur noch selten. Man wurde sofort bedient, regelmäßig gefragt, ob alles in Ordnung ist, und hat sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen gefühlt. Eine Bar mit toller Atmosphäre, hervorragenden Getränken und einem Service, der seinesgleichen sucht. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und können sie absolut weiterempfehlen!

Der Service war wirklich gut und das Personal durchgehend sehr freundlich. Leider konnte das die Enttäuschung beim Essen und den Getränken nicht ausgleichen.Das servierte Fleisch war innen noch komplett roh, und das bestellte Bier war leider warm statt kalt. Wir konnten das Essen nicht aufessen und haben das Restaurant mit leerem Magen verlassen. Positiv anzurechnen ist, dass uns das Geld anstandslos erstattet wurde – das Personal hat hier wirklich professionell reagiert.Aufgrund der mangelhaften Qualität der Küche werden wir aber leider nicht wiederkommen.

Kann leider nur abraten. Essen mittelmäßig, Cocktails extrem süß, wahrscheinlich sehr viel Sirup drin. Bei Hitze ist es kaum auszuhalten, keine Klimaanlage vorhanden und es wird sich auch keine Gedanken über andere Möglichkeiten gemacht wie zB. Ventilatoren etc. Flaschen wurden vom Tisch abgeräumt die noch nicht leer waren. Die Preise passend einfach nicht zur Qualität. Und als Krönung wird dann noch von einem verlangt, als letzter Gast die Zeche einer großen Gruppe zu übernehmen, obwohl man sein eigenen Kram bezahlt hat inkl. Trinkgeld!

Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis – Einmal zu viel eine Chance gegeben ​ Wir waren hier für ein Buffet (39 € pro Person), das leider auf ganzer Linie enttäuscht hat. Für ein Lokal, das sich selbst als so „besonders“ darstellt, war das eine mehr als blamable Darbietung. ​Die Hauptkritikpunkte: ​Das Essen (Qualität & Menge): Es gab Schweinefleisch in Champignonsauce mit Beilagen sowie ein Nudelgericht als Veggie-Alternative. Das Fleisch war leider sehr zäh und zudem bereits leer, lange bevor alle Gäste satt waren. Das Schlimmste: Auf Nachfrage hieß es, es könne nichts mehr nachgeholt werden – und das, obwohl im Vorfeld sogar 6 Personen spontan abgesagt hatten! ​ Der Nachtisch: Die Portionen in den Gläschen waren so winzig, dass sie buchstäblich mit einem einzigen kleinen Löffel komplett geleert waren. Für 39 € absolut unangebracht. ​ Der Service: Extrem unorganisiert. Es hat ewig gedauert, bis die ersten Getränke am Tisch waren. Auch das Aufnehmen neuer Getränkewünsche zog sich wie Kaugummi. ​ Das war leider nicht meine erste negative Erfahrung in diesem Laden, aber definitiv die letzte. Preis und Leistung stehen hier in keinerlei Verhältnis mehr. Keine Empfehlung!

Das Essen zur Mittagspause war gut. Es war ein kleiner Salat, das einzige Gericht mit dem Fisch mit wenigen Raviolis und bisschen Gemüse. Ein kleines Dessert am Ende. Wie man liest waren die Portionen zu klein, aber lecker. Nochmal würde ich wohl ein anderes Lokal aufsuchen, wenn der Fokus aufs satt werden liegen sollte. Ich denke aber es ist eine nette Lokation, um für Events dort zu verweilen. Die Mitarbeiter sind nett und es herrscht eine lockere Atmosphäre.

Super Essen, netter Service. Angenehme Atmosphäre!

Nach einem langen Strandtag sind wir mit 4 Erwachsenen und 3 Jugendlichen spontan im Unikat Cuxhaven eingekehrt. Eine Reservierung war nicht erforderlich, wir wurden freundlich und herzlich begrüßt. Aufmerksames und humoriges Team im Service, der Koch versteht sein Handwerk. Es hat allen sehr gut geschmeckt. Hier wird Gastro noch gelebt. Das ist leider selten geworden. Macht weiter so. Klare Empfehlung. Alles Gute und viele Grüße aus dem Ruhrpott.

Essen kam trotz Vorbestellen erst nach 1,5 Stunden und dann war das Essen auch noch kalt, kein Gewürz dran. Die Bedienung hat die Löffel für die Spaghetti erst gebracht als wir fertig waren mit essen. Absolute Katastrophe, komplette 6!!! Nie wieder!!!

Cuxhavenurlaub => UNIKAT ein Muss

Auch wenn wir es diesmal nur einmal geschafft haben. Es ist immer wieder lecker 😋 und Service ist auch ohne Tadel.

Ein toller Ort zum Verweilen. Schöne Atmosphäre, leckeres Essen und freundliches Personal.

Mittlerweile war ich mehrmals im Unikat um dort zu essen. Beim ersten Mal mit einer Gruppe im eigenen Raum war alles wunderbar. Am Abend meines 2. Besuches fand parallel eine Zigarren Veranstaltung im Raucherbereich statt. Leider roch es dennoch im ganzen Lokal unangenehm nach Rauch. Auf einen Tisch und unser Essen warteten wir an diesem Tag über eine Stunde, nachdem bei der Bestellung nach einer Allergen Karte gefragt wurde, wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass eine solche nicht vorhanden sei. Auch die mündliche Beratung zur Allergie war mangelhaft. Die in der lange Wartezeit zur Verfügung gestellte Vorspeise enthielt genau die besprochene Allergen. Wir hatten den Eindruck, dass der Reguläre Betrieb sehr unter dem Event gelitten hat. Mein dritter Besuche war etwas angenehmer. Zum essen lässt sich noch anmerken, dass die Gerichte sehr fettig und Knoblauch lästig sind, somit liegen diese schwer im Magen.

Wir waren gestern zu zweit im Unikat und haben leider keine guten Erfahrungen gemacht. Besonders das vegetarische Angebot – eine Tapas-Platte mit gegrillter Paprika, Zucchini und Frischkäse aus der Packung – hat uns sehr enttäuscht. Für den aufgerufenen Preis ist das schlicht zu wenig. Der Fisch war solide, aber nicht mehr. Insgesamt leider kein gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, sehr schade.

Das Restaurant wurde von einer Freundin empfohlen. Aktuell faste ich und esse nur vegan. Die Empfehlung war wirklich gut. Zwar stehen nur 2 vegane Gerichte auf der Karte, aber man konnte die Tapas vegan servieren. Diese waren ausgezeichnet!

Ich hatte einen Tappas Teller bestellt. Als der Kellner einen Teller brachte, auf dem das Besteck für den Tisch lag, meinte er doch mit vollem Ernst, dass ich den Teller, wenn das Besteck da runter genommen wurde, ja zum Essen nehmen solle. Ich hab ihn dann etwas verwirrt angeschaut und um einen frischen Teller gebeten.

Tolles Essen, bekamen auch ohne Vorbestellung einen Tisch, trotz größerer Gesellschaft die im Haus war.

Alles begann mit einer Suche nach einem Lokal, wo wir am Tag unserer Anreise, etwas essen können. Unsere Wahl traff auf dieses Lokal. Ein Lokal mit Geschichte. Von außen wirkt es eher unscheinbar, aber wenn man durch die wunderschöne alte Eingangstür geht, wird man herzlich Empfangen und vom Ambiente eingeladen dort zu verweilen. Wenn man etwas sucht für eine Feier oder ein gemütlichen Abend verbringen möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Whisky Verkostung, Zigarren Verkostung, Themenräume runden das Portfolio ab. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Küche liefert erstklassiges Essen. Man kann sich angenehm unterhalten, ohne das Gefühl zu bekommen, laut zu werden. Man hat dort eher das Gefühl das die Zeit reine Nebensache ist. Macht weiter so...wir kommen wieder.

Ein absolut empfehlenswertes Restaurant. Der Service war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, das Essen sehr lecker, Cocktails top. Wir haben auch noch eine kleine Führung durch die verschiedenen Räumlichkeiten bekommen sowie Empfehlungen für dazugehörige Lokalitäten sowie den Sturmflut Laden, wo wir dann auch gleich den "Deichbruch" Likör gekauft haben, den wir zuvor im Unikat getrunken haben. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder, auch wenn wir nicht gleich um die Ecke wohnen. Dieses Restaurant ist eine Reise wert. Vielen herzlichen Dank für zwei wundervolle Abende bei euch.

Ein Schönes Restaurant in Cuxhaven im Sommer wie im Winter ist immer wieder meine erste Anlaufstelle wenn ich dienstlich vor Ort bin. Preis-leistungsverhältnis passt. Im sommer ist es natürlich noch schöner wenn man draußen sitzen kann 😊

Schön eingerichtetes Lokal, Service war aufmerksam und freundlich. Leider - zumindest bei meinem Besuch im Januar - war es drinnen relativ kühl. Das Essen (Spagh.Bolo und SchniPo) war durchschnittlich ohne Garnitur und etwas lieblos angerichtet. Super fand ich die Bio Versionen verschiedener Gerichte und das auf Anfrage auch vegan gekocht wird.

Sehr ansprechendes Ambiente, tolles Essen und einen super Service bekommt man im Unikat. Das Lokal ist vorbildlich geführt. Jan Fitter, Emre Önbas und das ganze Team sind Vollprofis. Als Gast fühlt man sich im Unikat sehr wohl und man kommt sehr gerne wieder. Das Unikat ist sehr zu empfehlen!

Alles reibungslos. Die Bedienung reagierte spontan auf neue Wünsche. Die Kellner sind aufmerksam und professionell und behalten ihren individuellen interessanten Charakter. Das Essen war lecker und gut präsentiert. Es fehlt ein bisschen die besondere Note vielleicht. Mit 11 Personen als familiäre Geburtstagsfeier bekommen wir einen schönen Raum mit Schiebetür getrennt vom restlichen Restaurant. Das war top. Mit Vorspeise und Nachtisch 40 Euro pro Person

I was there for a Christmas party with a group of about 7-9 people. There were also several other, significantly larger groups present, with around 30 people each, as well as various other guests. After ordering drinks, it took almost 20 minutes for them to arrive. Immediately afterward, we ordered food, which then took almost 90 minutes to arrive. During this time, a dish for one of my colleagues was forgotten or delivered to the wrong table. After a good 25 minutes, he finally received his food, after everyone else had finished. The service staff were completely overwhelmed! As an apology, they brought us small desserts, but the other tables received the same. It seems this wasn't really an apology at all, but rather intended as complimentary desserts. This certainly makes a great impression when you're lied to, too. :) With our final order of a few nightcaps and a cappuccino, the cappuccino was forgotten and, despite repeated requests, never brought to our table. A real shame. . ... The menu selection is relatively limited, and the prices have increased to reflect rising personnel and raw material costs. However, the quality is excellent – ​​kudos to the kitchen! The portion sizes could be a touch larger for my taste, or at least with a few more side dishes. As a hearty eater, I still had room for more after the 250g rump steak. Otherwise, the restaurant is pleasantly furnished and offers a great atmosphere; the seating is comfortable, and there was even some really good live music. I deliberately chose to focus on the criticism because, unfortunately, the evening wasn't as memorable as I had hoped. Perhaps it's possible to implement these criticisms for improvement, as one can certainly expect better from such an exclusive establishment. I'm fully aware of the effort involved in catering to such a large number of people simultaneously. If this isn't feasible, the number of guests should be limited in advance, or more staff should be employed to handle the workload. Thank you.

The atmosphere was lovely; we were there for prawns. The food was amazing, but unfortunately, despite having made a reservation, we were given a much too small table for our group of seven.

Fast service, currywurst absolutely fine, reasonably priced, we'll be back.

We were here for our company Christmas party. The table reservation worked out fine, and the evening started well, but unfortunately, the service deteriorated significantly as it progressed. The food arrived with very long intervals between meals, the dessert was burnt, and used glasses and coffee cups from the beginning of the evening weren't cleared away for a long time. Overall, it seemed very inattentive. In addition, the live music later became so loud that normal conversation was almost impossible. Rather disappointing for a Christmas party. A shame, because the start was really promising.

Fantastic restaurant in Cuxhaven. We've been here twice now and are thrilled with the food and the subsequent lounge time. The staff are competent, friendly, discreet yet attentive... perfect.

Unfortunately, we had to wait a full two hours for our food. 🥺 We were the first guests in the restaurant, and then this happened. Absolutely unacceptable.

Pure disappointment... Once again, we gave this unique restaurant a chance, and once again, it was a complete disappointment. We waited over 50 minutes, and when we asked where the food was, we were told there was a kitchen breakdown. The next moment, it was a delay due to a high volume of orders. This unique restaurant wasn't even halfway full. As an apology, they offered us a slice of bread with dip. We canceled our order and were then allowed to go home, hungry once again, with the bill for the four drinks. Why don't we learn from our mistakes after so many years?

Great location, great service, great food, dessert a pure delight.😋 There's also a large smoking room, which is very attractive. Always happy to come back.

The food took too long. We paid for our drinks and left the restaurant 1.5 hours after ordering fries and salad. It's a shame.

Price/performance: 8/10 Taste: 8/10 Atmosphere: 9/10 Service: 9/10 Veggie: 7/10 The three of us spontaneously stopped by here on a Sunday evening and got a table without any problems. The service was friendly and the ambiance was very nice. The food was also very tasty, but I felt something was missing from the overall package (poorly presented, small portions). Vegetarians and vegans will get their money's worth, but with the standard fare. I would have liked something a little more unusual here. You can definitely have a great meal here :)

Incredibly delicious food. My husband's meat experience was delicious. His starter, an onion tart, was delicious even though I don't like onions. I tried it once – it was heavenly. My fish curry was very good and hot. The date cake at the end was amazing. We'll definitely be back.

The restaurant offers a good selection of dishes, and the quality of the food was good. However, we do have a complaint about the fact that we were largely ignored late in the evening, and shortly after 11:00 PM, we were told that it was actually closing time and they were open later than usual. We would have liked to have known earlier and had another drink. It's a bit of a shame, but it's worth a visit if you're in the area.

Unfortunately, a disappointment the second time around. We ate here two years ago during our vacation in Cuxhaven. We were drawn to it through the advertisements in the town, and the website was also very appealing and aroused great interest. Our first visit was very disappointing, but after such a long wait, we wanted to give it another try. We had, of course, reserved a table in advance. At the same time, a baby shower was being held in one of the rooms with several guests. So, occupancy was relatively high. Guests who arrived without reservations were immediately told that there would be a long wait (at this point, we had already been waiting for an hour for our food without being informed). In the end, 1.5 hours passed between ordering and receiving our food! We sat at our table with empty drinks for a long time, practically ignored. We fully understand the increased volume and that the kitchen is therefore also at capacity. But if you specifically make a reservation in advance, this enormous wait time and the service are truly unacceptable. Five minutes before the food arrived, we were briefly informed that it would only take another five minutes. This really should have happened much sooner. Unfortunately, the food itself wasn't particularly good either. One of our guests had burnt potatoes that didn't taste good at all (we all tried them and agreed that we'd never eaten such bad potatoes). The Galloway burger was served without onions (although they're listed on the menu). The mustard sauce with the potatoes was very salty. Absolutely not worth the price. After this very long and disappointing stay, we decided against a side dish. So, for us, this restaurant is definitely over.

We were there on August 2, 2025, with 58 people... for our wedding reception... and everyone was thrilled with the food and service... the restaurant manager Emre and his team gave it their all! Everyone had a wonderful evening... and there wasn't a single negative word from any of the guests... everyone was truly more than satisfied! Unfortunately, the live barbecue fell through 🌧🌧🌧 without end... but no one could do anything about that 🤷🤷‍♀️ Thank you to the entire team, it was an unforgettable experience for us... thank you so much... The food was excellent, everything tasted delicious, and the service was friendly even though it wasn't very busy that evening. Perhaps not comparable to other days, but everyone was very nice. The location is top-notch.

Friendly service. Modern ambiance. The food was very good. I recommend the wok-fried vegetables with chicken strips. It's nice to sit and dine for a while. But a little more friendliness and that certain something in the ambiance would have been missing to earn it a full score.

Addendum after 5 years: We thought we'd give this unique restaurant another chance after a long wait. Unfortunately, our reservation for 9 people from the beginning of the year (for the end of June) was canceled a few days before the scheduled date on the grounds that a private party had now registered and all reservations had to be canceled. Yeah, right, you can make more money that way. That's the end of it, too, for the other restaurants in this "chain." Review from 2020: After I (along with 7 other people) waited a full 1.5 hours for our food (and the restaurant wasn't even full), a rather disappointing, poorly presented dish landed on the table. The fries were cold, the garlic sauce in the jar was already warm and curdled. I pointed this out, but they dismissed it with the explanation that it was due to the sauce being bottled in the early evening, which happens sometimes. At least they apologized, but it's still not acceptable. Last time for me... Sorry, last year at the same time the food was much better quality... Service was nice as usual.

€28 for a barbecue buffet – and unfortunately, it wasn't worth it. There were only three basic meats, ready-made potato salad, BBQ sauce, and tzatziki. Everything was rather poorly made and cheaply done. The small print stated that this was the only offer, but it was barely noticeable. Disappointing value for money.

Super netter Service, tolles Ambiente und sehr leckeres Essen und dann noch Happy Hour bei den Cocktails, was will man mehr. Sowohl das Schnitzel mit Spargel und Röstkartoffeln als auch die Grillplatte waren von bester Qualitat. Auch vor kurzem war ich mit 180 Personen da, auch damals hervorragender Service und top Essen.

Super friendly service, a great atmosphere, and delicious food, plus happy hour with cocktails—what more could you want? Both the schnitzel with asparagus and roasted potatoes and the grilled platter were of the highest quality. I was there recently with 180 people, and the service and food were excellent.

Nice restaurant. The ambience is a mix of modern and old industrial buildings and therefore has a special charm. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious.

Priced too expensive... portions too small. Price performance is not right for me for these reasons. Otherwise great atmosphere and easy to reach. Drinks from the neighboring table were booked for me, but that can happen. Still friendly and competent employees.

Das Anbieten ist nett. Wir hatten an Ostern für eine Familienfeier reserviert. Zum Einen gab es nur eine sehr kleine Osterkarte. Vieles war gar nicht bestellbar. Hättean vielleicht sagen können, bei der Buchung. Dann haben wir 20 Minuten auf die Bestellaufnahme gewartet und über 2 Stunden auf's Essen, welches zwar qualitativ gut, aber tw.nur lauwarm war! Auf die Frage, warum es so ultra lange dauert ( hatten auch Kinder dabei) wurde sich mal nicht entschuldigt, sondern nur lapidar gesagt- sie hätten mehrere grosse Gruppen ( aber das weiss man doch vorher?!) Wir müssten mehrfach nach passendem Besteck fragen. Den Nachttisch sollte man rechtzeitig vorbestellen ( haben wir gemacht) und wenn ich nicht nachgefragt hätte, hätte man auch vergessen und mit zu teilen, dass er " aus" war. Alles in Allem ein anstrengender Abend mit überfordertem Personal. Und sorry- für den ersten Eindruck gibt es keine zweite Chance! Nie wieder! Dafür ist es viel zu teuer, um es nochmal zu versemmeln.

Were there at Easter. The food took 1.5 hours and was partly cold, partly over-seasoned, partly not yet cooked through. All in all, not really nice. In addition, there was only a very small Easter card and unfortunately not everyone found something. We were looking forward to a nice evening but were unfortunately disappointed

It was another great evening at Unikat. This time I enjoyed “full of shrimp”. Was so delicious. And the drinks leave nothing to be desired! Great service: careful, fast and extremely friendly. Thanks to Emre and team for the lovely evening and the #throwback2016 with Emre Spezial and JABU!

We can only recommend the ambience and service. The drinks and food were delivered very quickly. The waiters are super friendly. The food was extremely tasty. We now come back there again and again to eat.

The main courses were tasty, but some were a bit cold. Dessert was forgotten in the kitchen. After 45 minutes we asked what was brought to the table, except for one person's dessert. About 25 minutes later the last dish came to the table cold when we went to pay.

We were here for Valentine's dinner in the motorhome and were allowed to stay overnight. Great restaurant with a nice atmosphere, nice, fast, friendly and above all competent service. The food was of very good quality, beautifully presented and very tasty. We liked it very much, we would like to come back.

Modern elegance meets the historically recognizable charm of the old walls with a perfectly modern kitchen. The service staff are polite, helpful and always on hand. We have been there three times in 6 months and are already looking forward to the next few times.

We were there during the week. Portion of bread (6 small slices of baguette), 5 olives, a large amount of aioli and a bowl of salt = €8.50. Doesn't fit. Unfortunately, the waitress wasn't able to adequately account for the drinks we consumed, so we ended up paying €6 more than we actually consumed. In the end we gave up after she had to ask 3 times and the result was still wrong. Unsatisfactory. The food was otherwise good. Nevertheless, we won't be coming back because no attempt was made to offer the customer a solution, even though the mistake was the restaurant's.

Very tasty food, nice staff and the ambience is bomb.

We took part in the motorhome event. That was a really nice evening. Jan Fitter took us on a nice, informative tour of the old fish station. Afterwards there was a very tasty 2-course menu and at the end we tried the delicious cocktails. There were 6 campers in total and we all had a really nice evening. We'll definitely be back.👍

The first motorhome dinner that Jan Fitter and his team organized for us was a perfect experience! Great food, delicious drinks and a really nice group of people came together there. Nice location in the former fishing station. Jan explained everything with so much attention to detail, it was super informative. A wonderful breakfast in Jan's other location, the storm surge at the ferry port rounded off the weekend.

Great ambience, nice service, only the food is too expensive. I ordered the gnocchis a year ago and today they were nothing. The burger was good but far too small for over €20.

Wir waren mit Freunden zum Silvester Diner im Unikat. Bis auf den Service setzen sechs. Das Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis passt überhaupt nicht. Viel Geld nur für billiges Essen und ohne Getränke. Unmöglich. Der Gipfel bestand darin, dass wir zum Anstoßen aufs neue Jahr noch nicht einmal ein Glas Sekt bekamen, sondern es extra kaufen mussten. Diese Lokation ist für eine Silvester Feier nicht zu empfehlen.

Great ambience, great food, great staff

We booked the New Year's Eve menu 2024/2025 and are thrilled. The price is absolutely justified, the staff are very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is very pleasant. We'll definitely come back from time to time! A big thank you to the team, a happy new year and for 2025: keep it up!

After consulting by phone, we went there at 9.30 p.m. Apparently tables in the counter area should be free. When we arrived, we were parked in the uncomfortable side room for an hour. Service was so-so. Friendly but bored. It's a shame I know otherwise. DJ plays good music, Dance floor too small to really dance...December 31, 24. Too bad.

Very nice atmosphere, wide corridors and a pleasant room climate despite the high room volume. Attentive service, compact menu and harmonious dishes. Price/performance is excellent except for the rump steak. The duck leg and the beef ragout were very tasty.

Eat your fill of schnitzel at the Christmas party at Unicat. Unfortunately the schnitzels and vegetables came out of the bag frozen. For 32.- it is much better. Unfortunately not again.

Great ambience, delicious food, very nice service! The portions were perfect for us, not too much and not too little! We will definitely come back on our next vacation!!

Were here for the first time today and are thrilled! The happy hour cocktails were great, the food came super quickly and the portions were just right. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly, which made the evening perfect. We would definitely like to come back!

The dishes were all good. Timing and presence of the service must be optimized. And if the temperature of a Jever on tap is two times too warm, it is not enough for full points. I exchanged the first Jever and put the ice cubes for the cola in the second one ;-).
