Sturmflut Bierlokal in Cuxhaven

Had a lovely evening at the “Comedy Night”. I had a currywurst with “steak fries”. The sausage was very good and there was also a small side salad. The fries could have been a little more. Then the price of €12.50 would be appropriate.

We really liked it, the food was great, service too, except that you have to wait a little longer until you get a card, but that takes away from the ambience in the winter garden. Were very happy with the food, plentiful and good 👍

View, atmosphere, service, food are just okay. There is a lack of attention to detail, constant effort and great slogans: "We cook with hearts and not with stars" on the wall cannot save everything. A little more attention wouldn't hurt when announcing that it's guests' birthdays. If you order certain breakfasts, you have to be informed that ingredients/contents are missing! As a guest, you are not necessarily allowed to see how offers are adjusted at one table and surcharges are charged at other tables. Baking bread rolls seems to have become an art. The experience I had before at this restaurant was much more positive. 3 stars are overly positive today.

We were there for breakfast. The eggs were completely hard and therefore inedible, there was little choice of sausage and no normal cream cheese (only with pineapple or pepper flavor). The service was also really bad, the lady and the gentleman walked past 10 times without even asking if we would like anything else or let alone clearing it away. We sat there for an hour after breakfast with our dirty dishes in front of our faces. Unfortunately there are few options for breakfast in Cuxhaven, but we still can't recommend it there.

Extraordinary venue for us. The lady who served us was very attentive, very friendly and approachable. Our meals were rich and very well-rounded in terms of taste. We felt very comfortable, so we are already planning another visit! There are always complaining guests, even when we visited. The way I talk/deal with people is how it echoes back 😉 A kind word is good for everyone, even when you're on vacation.

Nice service, prices are ok, are happy to have breakfast 👍🏽. Just one small thing: the winter garden could have been a little warmer.

Great restaurant, but we only had a coffee because we were waiting for access to the Helgoland ferry. The food that was distributed at the neighboring table by the very nice waitress looked really tasty.

We spontaneously went to eat here and were lucky to get a table without a reservation. The chicken breast and salmon burger were outstanding. Plus, it happened quickly. Friendly service rounded off the meal.

My tip is to reserve a table. Food very good and tasty, very nice service and really good view. Tip the storm surge liqueurs. We'd love to come back.

We were having breakfast, 12 people were registered and 1 person got sick at short notice so there were 11 of us. I immediately said they could take away 1 place setting. I actually had to pay for 12 people, which I found very petty. The waiter wasn't very attentive and I had to keep asking if something was empty - it was a buffet. So the breakfast was tasty, but by buffet I mean something different. We were very disappointed with the treatment towards us 😞

Unfortunately, we also have to deduct stars as we have been coming here to eat here intermittently since it opened. The service has deteriorated significantly here, staff where you worry that you would bother them if you spoke to them. Harsh and unfriendly answers, unfortunately the drinks we ordered didn't even arrive. The food tasted good but was lukewarm and the portions were very manageable (with the salmon with rosemary potatoes, add 2! half small potatoes, that takes courage). Unfortunately, the potatoes that were delivered after the complaint (with the staff rolling their eyes as they left the table) only came back to the table after 15 minutes, only lukewarm, by which time the rest of the plate was already empty and unfortunately there was no trace of rosemary. Conclusion: OK for tourists, they won't come back after their vacation anyway, as a local it's a failure. We won't be coming back.

The food was lukewarm and not completely complete, but tasty. The waiter felt harassed by the guests and made no secret of it… That was very annoying.

We went here for dinner twice during our vacation. The first time we came without a reservation, the second time with one. The first time we had to wait a bit so that the table for two could be prepared. But everything was within the framework and friendly! The second time everything went smoothly. Our food was always very good and the service was friendly and quick! Recommendation on our own behalf: The in-house schnapps 👌🏻

I ate a vegetable stir-fry on the terrace. It was very tasty but the portion was a bit small. Service very attentive.

I can highly recommend this restaurant. If you want fresh, delicious fish from very friendly service, this is the place for you. The schnitzel with fresh vegetables was also very tasty. The prices were good. We would love to come back and say thank you 💐

Just nice for good middle-class food.

Waited a long time until a bad-tempered waitress accepted the drink request, and even longer until the food was ordered. Breaded schnitzel came out of the fryer, the fat ran out of the breading. Terrible!

We were treated very kindly by service employee Mareike with tasty food and drinks. However, the nice atmosphere that this employee had created was destroyed by the completely rude, one could also say, trampling behavior of the counter employee on September 7th, 2024 at lunchtime! When we asked about toilets, she asked whether we were guests at all. In her arrogance, the lady should have taken better care of the cleanliness of the place, she would have been better off there than in contact with guests!

We discovered this restaurant by chance during a bike tour and stopped in spontaneously. We really liked it here. In our opinion, the price/performance ratio is absolutely ok. We have nothing to complain about.

We ate here in the afternoon, unfortunately the dishes were limited to 4 at the time. We had currywurst and fish. The sausage was OK but unfortunately a bit cold. The fish was very tasty and also very rich. We would have liked to choose from the entire menu, but we'll probably have to come back again in the evening for that 😉

We have been to the Sturmflut restaurant in Cuxhaven twice now and it was an absolute pleasure every time! The location right on the pier is perfect, especially if you want to end the evening with a fantastic sunset. The service is incredibly friendly, relaxed and at the same time very accommodating. You immediately feel comfortable and in good hands. When it comes to the food, I can only rave. The “Great Storm Surge” was absolutely delicious! The fish dishes are particularly noteworthy: the fish burger comes with a good portion of fish and tastes simply great. My husband tried the matjes and loved it - the best he's ever eaten, he says. The fish soup and fresh crabs were also first class – super fresh and plenty of fish in it. Another highlight are the homemade liqueurs – an absolute must! We liked the own brand so much that we bought a bottle straight away. All in all, a restaurant with a great atmosphere, great food and service that makes the whole experience perfect. We'll definitely be back!

Yesterday we spontaneously stopped in for dinner. There were still places available, but not anymore. So maybe it's better to make a reservation. The food came quickly. However, the meatball of my burger was rather cold. Everyone still enjoyed it. What we really liked: There are free pasta with cream sauce for small children.

On the receipt you could read that “Anna” served us. Super nice, helpful and competent. The way the waitress rushes up and down the stairs from the restaurant to the terrace with plates and glasses (we were sitting outside), a feat in itself. We particularly liked our service. Special requests were no problem. We once again enjoyed the food and the iced coffee too. We have been here several times and would love to come back

Nice restaurant on the Heligoland pier. Service was very friendly, coffee and cake were great, food looked great. Prices normal. Recommendation 👍 Addition: The main courses are also great. We were really looking forward to fish. Unfortunately it was drowned in fat, as were the fried potatoes. The waitress probably didn't really feel like it either. Food was slammed onto the table without comment. Nope, I don't have to go there again.

We have been coming here for several years (whenever we are in Cuxhaven). Whether for a meal, for a “coffee when you arrived in Cuxhaven” or after a walk... It's always wonderful, the staff is courteous and we're never disappointed with the food. We'd love to come back.

Unfortunately I had an old fish on my plate, it was hard and slightly gray, went back... fish fillet mind you 🙄

Unfortunately very sleepy, unmotivated staff. Until you got a breakfast menu, you sat for about 20-30 minutes and the waitress walked past you several times and preferred to clear tables. Then we got a card, which only came from the side from the waitress. "The kitchen hasn't changed the breakfast menu yet". Another 10 minutes later we finally received a card and could order. The breakfast itself was delicious but it didn't blow your mind. It's a shame, you could do more with it

Good morning, We were in this restaurant on Saturday. Unfortunately the staff didn't really notice us (we are older). After it was explained to us which card was valid at which time of the day 🤔 and we realized that we wanted to eat at the wrong time of day, we decided on a cool drink. That would be nice to slap on the table for us. Now we wanted to pay with the card and it was explained to us that our turnover (8.45 euros) was not enough for a card payment. This payment method was only possible from a turnover of 10 euros. Dear operator of this restaurant, We really tried to understand your "different menus" and the associated times, but we didn't find anything about card payments from 10 euros anywhere. Thank you for your gastronomic offer in the restaurant and on the beach, but you feel a bit ripped off... But you are well on your way to achieving your 10 euros in sales yourself with your prices... and then you can set 20 euros in sales for card payments.

We were there as holidaymakers and unfortunately the service was absolutely unfriendly and super slow. Unfortunately we didn't feel comfortable, we were often passed over and I had to get menus myself. For a restaurant in a holiday destination it really has to be better...the food wasn't bad, but that was all...

We went out to eat today based on a recommendation and as far as the food was concerned it wasn't a bad decision. The fish was first class, as were the burgers and the currywurst was good. The staff, however, could have been a little more on the ball. We sat for about 15 minutes with five people before the first one came and at least brought us a card. But we weren't allowed to order there yet. That took another time. After ordering, the food and drinks came quite quickly. The reordering of drinks was then forgotten. But as I said: the food is good - the staff is first class and there is room for improvement.

Good selection of drinks, friendly service, menu extensive and varied, dishes tasty and plentiful, prices okay. Update 2023: In contrast to the previous year, the quality of the food has decreased, the portion of meat in the chicken curry was smaller, the indefinable yellow spots on the meat were probably pieces of pineapple 😡 At the "Brotzeit Sturmflut" the pumpernickel slices were already bent like a bow, the toasted house bread would probably have been toasted hours ago, soft and chewy 😡 Update 2024: Quality back to its old, good level, Very nice service, everything is reasonably priced

Nice restaurant at the harbor pier of the Heligoland ship at Grimmershörnbucht. Delicious food, fair prices and MEGA DELICIOUS LIQUEUR 😃👌 Be sure to try salt caramel or salty licorice 👏👏👏

Food was delicious 😋 and plentiful. Ambiance was nice, inside and out. Service was quick and friendly. So a clear recommendation 😉. gladly again.

Were here on the Easter holidays because we could only reserve a table here. When we arrived our table wasn't available. The two dishes I chose were out. I actually wanted to eat fish, but that was the end of it. At the next table there was a cheerful, cheerful party group with the right volume. The service was overwhelmed by the rush. The restaurant has more of the charm of a tennis hall bar. We were disappointed and will not be returning.

My wife and I each had the large fish plate "Big Storm Surge". There was nothing to complain about. Good portion, everything very tasty, nice atmosphere and friendly service. I just don't like the Jeverbier, but there is at least one other beer on the menu here too. We can recommend the restaurant.

Unfortunately, as a young person from Hamburg, the fish dish didn't appeal to me. I'm used to something different. So unfortunately we won't be coming back. It is strongly recommended to reserve a table...

Very good fish dishes, large portions and reasonable prices, the salmon was buttery soft, a dream, the storm surge burger was unfortunately quite small and dry. The toilets are at the back, you need a coin from the service. But clean.

You can eat very tasty food there

Unfortunately the service was absolutely unfriendly. One had the impression that it would be unreasonable to ask the waitress to do her job. Some orders were delivered incorrectly, but they were very tasty. When the bill was supposed to be split between several parties, the service was again very incompetent. Several invoices were incorrect. Any service took an enormous amount of time. The outside terrace with a view of the Heligoland branch was a pleasant atmosphere.

As a group of 8, we were looking for a relaxed meal today. Unfortunately, our entire group was completely ignored and treated very unfriendly by the waitress. After almost 35 minutes the drinks were finally taken. Although the food was delicious, the poor service completely ruined the day. Such treatment is unacceptable. Never again!

The beer bar Die Sturmflut is an averagely good restaurant in Cuxhaven. Here you can get a good fish plate or, alternatively, one or two nice burgers. In summer you can sit on the solid terrace with a partial view of the “big pots” and the “to go” hunger has also been taken care of in times of Corona. It's always a good and easy place to go, especially if you're cycling, because it's right next to the ferry port and on a cycle route. The parking options are worth mentioning, as there are plenty of free parking spaces awaiting you here. Price performance is very good! Update!!! July 25, 2024 Today we visited the restaurant with a group of 8 and found a place on the outside terrace. Unfortunately the service was an ABSOLUTE disaster! We can write a book about unfriendliness, rudeness and snappy answers. The drink took 30 minutes after arriving at the restaurant, the food was, as always, very tasty, but even continuing to drink seemed like asking too much. The lady who served the outside terrace is completely out of place here, unfortunately we won't be coming back! Splitting the final invoice into 4 parties was also not desirable and additional items were simply written onto the invoice that were not there when we ordered. When asked, again only curt answers. A pity !!! Very unfortunate!!!

I'm happy to pay the increased prices in the restaurant if I get the appropriate value in return. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case in the Sturmflut restaurant on our evening. The food was okay, but nothing more. The plates were, apart from one, carelessly arranged. The boiled potatoes, for example, were simply “thrown” onto the plate and had gray spots on them. Remoulade and sauces tasted like ready-made products. The service seemed a bit stressed and was sometimes rough in tone. The food was presented at the end of the table and had to be distributed from there. What was also negatively noticeable was that a fee of 1 euro was charged per change, even for a 27 euro dish when changing from fried potatoes to fries. I wouldn't say a word about any of this in a factory canteen, but if I put almost €200.00 on the table in a restaurant, I expect more. P.s. The toilets were an absolute disgrace, dirty and with the floor full of toilet paper, plus the smell was almost unbearable.

The friendly waitresses are very accommodating. Currywurst is very tasty 😋 The dishes are very tasty and well prepared. We will be back.

The Sturmflut is a cozy restaurant. We had dinner with a large group of people. When my friend mistakenly received the burger with onions (intolerance), she was given a new burger upon request. Big plus!

Today was the first time and certainly not the last time we ate here. Come to Cuxhaven so often. The staff was very friendly and we would like to thank you very much for bringing our meal forward. We will definitely come back more often now.

Waren am 1.7.24 dort essen war super, alle super nett dort, preislich auch super. Super auch der hinweis das es ein Laden gibt richtung cuxhaven Innenstadt / gegenüber der wilma. Dort kann man auch die liköre probieren und viele andere schöne dinge kaufen. WICHTIG: fragt nach der geschichte hinter dem name sturmflut. Super interessante geschichte die sich im laden wiederspiegelt

The best food on this Cuxhaven holiday. Delicious and rich.

The food is quite ok but slightly overcooked. Ate a plate with two different fried fish, fried potatoes, fried vegetables together with some garlic sauce in a bowl. The hygiene does not seem to be the best among the serving staff. Unfortunately! Also would have looked nicer and fresher if EVERYONE was uniformly dressed in the company T-shirt and not someone in a long-sleeved shirt and the next in a hoodie. Thanks for the visit.

My go-to place after returning from Helgoland. Good food, friendly staff, nice atmosphere. What more do you want.

The service was poor and my request for no tomatoes on the burger was skillfully ignored. Also, the steak wasn't cooked through. However, it is a pleasant place to eat.

For the toilet you need a token from the counter, which you get for free as a guest. There was no toilet paper, unfortunately the toilets were not clean (around 2 p.m.).

Staff very unfriendly, the first large Alster was drunk immediately after a long wait. We still didn't have the new one we ordered when we finished eating. There are other things to note. I don't feel like it anymore and won't go there anymore No Labskaus at 1:30 p.m., has to be redone first..... great planning.
