A fantastic stay with a true nautical feel! We thoroughly enjoyed the "Sturmflut" in Cuxhaven. The rustic decor gives the place a special maritime ambiance – a real nautical flair! Everything was clean, well-organized, and tastefully decorated. You immediately feel at home. We'd love to come back!

Located right next to the ferry terminal for Helgoland, you can get an inexpensive breakfast... Two rolls with plenty of scrambled eggs and shrimp for under €15, including coffee. The staff is friendly and very helpful.

We spent a week in Cuxhaven and ate at the Sturmflut every evening! A wonderful atmosphere with a view of the "Helgoland" (at least in the evening!), super delicious food, and top-notch service! A million thanks to Sascha, it was truly magnificent 😉 See you next year! Until then, raise a glass of Sturmfeuer for us! 🙃🙂

Great place. We were at the parking spot by the ferry house. It's 300 meters from there. Really lovely, great food and drinks.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is very pleasant. The location at the ferry dock is also beautiful. The wide selection of drinks is also worth mentioning. We would love to come back!

I stopped in for a coffee and a piece of cake. The waitress (an older gentleman) seemed very annoyed and listless! I didn't feel welcome as a guest!

Great food and a lovely atmosphere. We've been eating there for years, but unfortunately, we were asked to leave at 9 p.m. with the statement that the cleaning staff would be there shortly, even though, according to Google, the opening hours were until 10 p.m. It's a shame...that evening, of all evenings, there was a reason to raise a glass and ring in an early finish...very inappropriate.

Unfortunately, the Cuxhaven Quartet was a flop, they offered a free specialty coffee. Ordered a latte, the waiter said we don't have it!!!!! Only café crème. Specialty coffee??? Just crema? And then it was as thin as dishwater!!!! The waiter's comment was, "Tastes are different." We found that pretty cheeky. Unfortunately, we don't recommend it!

Very good and friendly staff. The redfish with fried potatoes was also really good in terms of both the portion and the price. If you're in Cuxhaven, visit Sturmflut. We've been there several times, and it's always excellent. Go there sometime.

The food was swimming in oil. Some of the food was cold. The fries were unbreakable, deep-fried, or only half-cooked. Not recommended.

We were with several people for dinner, and it was okay. The gentleman who served us seemed to think he could rearrange the tables and chairs without paying any attention to the guests. As we left, we said goodbye, but nothing came back. He was probably playing with his phone, which was more important. We are very disappointed.

The food was good, a bit expensive, right on the Heligoland pier. Parking at the restaurant requires a ticket. €65 for two people without starters or desserts seems a bit excessive to me. However, there were also cheaper dishes. A bit of everything, even if Werk doesn't like fish. The dark beer was good.

We ate there in May, and everything was fantastic. The food was delicious. The service was also friendly and reliable. We celebrated our civil wedding there in August. We had a buffet by arrangement, and everyone was happy. We were happy with everything and can only recommend it. Thank you again so much ❤️

Very good food and even better service. The young man with the small braid absolutely impressed me. The restaurant was very busy, and there had apparently been a complaint. I've rarely experienced a waiter who handles kitchen errors so confidently and still keeps guests satisfied. He enjoys his work. By the way, our meal was excellent.

Nice restaurant/bistro. Had a delicious herring roll and a delicious Jever sausage for lunch. The staff is attentive and very friendly.

We were there for dinner. The place was packed. We were assigned a small table for two. It was perfectly large. Our food was very good. The service was friendly. And if you ask, you can also park for free nearby. There's a QR code inside that you can use to cancel your parking. Just ask. We enjoyed it and would love to come back.

The food is good, but since it's almost always full, you'll need plenty of time, as service takes a long time. Don't sit at the counter. It's very loud due to the people working behind the counter.

Breakfast today during a storm surge. The waitress was completely unfocused, distracted, brought something we hadn't ordered, and forgot something. The rolls tasted like cardboard. Everything was different. We've been coming here for a long time and have always been satisfied. What a pity.

Terrible experience with the kids... Asked the waiter if there were any available table for us, also notifying the windy weather not suitable for our kid. We have notified it was available at the terrace. Have you not wondered, why we climbed your stairs to ask inside instead of just jump any available seat? It's no brainer to guess people wanna sit inside, since we politely asked in advance. Merged two tables and settled. Then suprisingly, same person came and told us that we can not sit inside. It turned out that one of these were reserved even though the other table we sit had no sign. Instead of suggesting us for the one of the other merged table, he simply chose to reject the whole family. No sympathy for the kids but strongly sticking to the rules right? Called the place to report the experience to the manager , but no manager was there at all. One of the crew said, we barely even manage the place with 3 people... Good continue like that... Very poor organization skills as well. Never come there again. Lost potential customers.

Four of us came here for dinner. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. We sat outside in the conservatory and enjoyed the view of the Elbe. Unfortunately, our server, an elderly gentleman, was very listless and unfriendly. Therefore, we didn't go back again during our stay.

Newly discovered, it fits right in. It's a modern, rustic pub with typical Nordic food without any frills and a great view. Good value for money. The entire staff is extremely friendly and offers a family atmosphere that makes you feel welcome and at home. Thank you for that! We'll be happy to come back on our next vacation.

Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. It was rather bland and tasted of nothing. The salmon had a musty flavor, and the shrimp were absolutely tasteless. The restaurant wasn't exactly clean either. The floor was littered with leftovers and sticky. The wait was long.

The stars go to the friendly staff who served us – they were attentive and helpful. Unfortunately, the food overall was not impressive. The dishes were barely seasoned (which is, of course, a matter of taste), and the fish in particular had no flavor of its own, so I couldn't finish it. This was particularly disappointing, as you generally expect fresh fish of excellent quality in the North Sea. The atmosphere in the restaurant seemed very tense. The staff seemed stressed, which had a noticeable impact on the overall ambiance. Of course, stressful situations or staff shortages can occur from time to time – as a guest, you understand that, especially when the food and drinks are fresh and well prepared. In this case, however, the unrest was clearly noticeable, and unfortunately, the food was also not impressive. Added to this was the loud background noise from the bar, which further made the experience uneasy. This is especially unfortunate because I had better memories of the restaurant from previous visits. Unfortunately, this time it was a disappointing experience.

We celebrated here after our civil wedding. We were absolutely delighted. WE can only recommend Sturmflut.

We ate here with friends. It wasn't good. We were seated at a table, but no one came for it. By the time it arrived, we had already placed our order. After 40 minutes, the currywurst with fries arrived. The fries were good, but the sausage was cooked way too long. The skin was so hard, you couldn't taste anything. It was also very loud behind the counter. The empty bottles were carelessly discarded. There are other nice restaurants.

Super delicious, a bit pricey but worth every penny. Very friendly staff. The menu ranges from breakfast (8:30 - 10:30), soups, meat dishes, vegetarian dishes, to desserts/cakes. It's usually very busy, but relatively quiet and has an outdoor seating area.

I visited this restaurant with my son this week. First of all, it's good that they also have a small selection for children. My son ordered nuggets with fries and was very happy with them 😅👍🏼 I opted for the herring fillet, traditionally prepared. First of all, I was very surprised by the rather large portion. It was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Unfortunately, it loses one point because the fried potatoes were rather lukewarm. Otherwise, a really nice atmosphere and friendly service.

Hello Our 3.5-year-old daughter had her first wasp sting, and the Sturmflut team were so kind to our daughter. They treated her to a scoop of ice cream, and the best part was, our daughter ate pasta with tomato sauce. At the end, we got the bill, and it said, "Cool, it doesn't cost anything, pasta." 😀😀😀😀 We were thrilled 😀😀😀

I visited the "Sturmflut" restaurant for the first time, alone. At 6 p.m. on a Saturday, several tables were already reserved, and many were empty for two. I was offered a table in the middle of the winter garden. This was the only free one – I didn't realize it; others probably didn't have the "reserved" card. I don't usually write reviews, but this restaurant advertises itself as "fresh quality and a commitment to tradition." I was surprised that my meal was served after just 10 minutes. Visually appealing, I was initially struck by the enormous portion of "side salad" (drenched in dressing). Unfortunately, my first glance at the chopped vegetables raised doubts as to whether these weren't convenience foods, intended to give them a traditional touch with a freshly sliced tomato, cucumber, and red onion. Incidentally, a slice of lemon is harder to juice than a wedge (just a side note). I was looking forward to fresh fried potatoes and fresh fish. Unfortunately, they were already cold when served, lukewarm at most, and not crispy. The salmon tasted fishy (ergo: not really fresh), the redfish fillet was very translucent—but OK, but the skin was extremely flabby. It was OK—but not what I expected based on the owner's comments. The service was disinterested, attentive—but cool. I rounded up the bill accordingly anyway—no audible or visual reaction. What a shame. Even though, as a Lower Saxon, I'll visit Cuxhaven every now and then, the "Sturmflut" restaurant hasn't won me over as a new customer.

We were recommended this restaurant by the "Sturmflut" store in Cuxhaven. We received good advice and did a great job. Arriving at the Sturmflut restaurant, we waited a long time for poor service. The food was OK, but the service made the visit a disappointment. A long wait (for the first "MOIN" and even longer for the first drink) and, finally, the audacity to handwrite a 5% service tip on the bill... NEVER AGAIN!! And whether I'll shop at Sturmflut again is now also a question.

We went to dinner at the restaurant yesterday for our wedding anniversary. The first thing I noticed was the significant price increase and the smaller portions compared to previous years. Overall, the price increase completely spoiled my appetite. Therefore, only my wife ate anything. I settled for a seltzer water, which was also completely overpriced. We've eaten at the "Sturmflut" restaurant several times over the past few years, but yesterday was the last time.

We had a delicious meal here! The food was fresh, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was amazing! We'll definitely be back on our next vacation!

The pork medallions were excellent, as were the fried potatoes. The mushroom sauce was a bit sparingly portioned. The children's schnitzel was very small and could have been cooked a bit longer; it was very light. Excellent service, and the atmosphere was pleasant and pleasant.

Update 2023: The quality of the food has declined compared to last year; the chicken curry had a smaller portion of meat, and the indefinable yellow spots on the meat were probably pineapple chunks. 😡 At the "Brotzeit Sturmflut" (Storm Tide), the pumpernickel slices were already bent like a bow, and the toasted homemade bread had probably been toasted hours ago, soft and chewy. 😡 Update 2024: Quality back to its old, good level. Very friendly service, and everything was within the acceptable range in terms of price.

Unfortunately, a disappointing visit despite good food We were actually looking forward to a pleasant evening, but were sadly disappointed. Our waiter – an older gentleman – was extremely unfriendly and seemed annoyed by even the smallest question. He kept disappearing outside, which severely impacted the service. Although we've experienced very friendly service on other days, this evening was unfortunately the opposite. The food was, as always, fresh and truly delicious – a huge compliment to the kitchen! But unfortunately, even the best food doesn't help if you don't feel welcome as a guest. It's a real shame, because our first visit was really positive.

Two of us came here for dinner. Reasonable prices, very quick service, and an enormous selection of beers at reasonable prices. The only downside was that the fishcakes we ordered were warm, not hot, and that was after a 45-minute wait. Card payments are also accepted.

The food – I had a meat platter – was very good, very juicy, and very fresh. I can say the same about the salad. Crisp and fresh. There were no brown spots on the cut edges. The service was very prompt, friendly, cheerful, and always enthusiastic. The beer, which we were able to order quickly, arrived very quickly. About 10 minutes after the beer was served, the food arrived. The restrooms are a bit dated and in dire need of renovation. Since the facilities don't appear to belong to the restaurant, this isn't reflected in my review. There's a turnstile in front of the restrooms, which you can use by inserting a 50-cent token. Restaurant guests are free to use. Upon request, you can get a free token at the counter, which you insert to clear the way. Everything was to our satisfaction, and we would be happy to return.

We sat in the fenced-in "beer garden" area, overlooking the surrounding vehicles. Sea view 6 From the winter garden, you have a good view of the harbor, Kugelbake, and the Elbe... The food is very tasty, the portions are large, and the fish is fresh and well-prepared. The fried potatoes were a grade B. The service was cool; the chef was probably having a bad day, a bit grumpy.

I often come to Sturmflut for breakfast, but last time, I was extremely struck by the number of DEAD flies and...that the other empty tables weren't cleared the entire time we were there! It was more than a requirement to sit at the table with your cell phone on!!! 🫣 What a shame

The food was good overall. The service was "slow"; they could have made more money from us, especially with drinks (we were only asked for drinks when we sat down). 😄 And the cleanliness was OK...except for the windowsill, which had dead flies, etc....but you do get a good view of the passing ships.

Visited this restaurant for the first time today. I ordered pork medallions with mushroom cream sauce and a pork schnitzel, also with mushroom cream sauce. But first, let's order. The waitress came and seemed extremely overwhelmed and annoyed. The drinks arrived quickly. The food followed about 10 minutes later. At first glance, it was clear that this was a frozen schnitzel. The accompanying sauce was "fresh" from a packet. The medallions were cooked really well, which unfortunately resulted in the food being dry and slightly tough. (An impressive achievement for pork medallions). The salad rounded it all off. It was watery, definitely not fresh, which was clearly evident from the single slice of cucumber that was dried out. When you open the menu at the beginning, they clearly advertise freshness and friendliness. Unfortunately, this was not the case. For my taste, I will not be visiting this restaurant again. But please, everyone should form their own opinion about the restaurant. This is purely my opinion about my visit here.

We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were a good size, and the bathroom was well-equipped with a shower, sink, toilet, and towel rail. Breakfast was excellent, with something for every taste. The staff was friendly, and the location was excellent—we'd love to come back!

Here you can expect solid cuisine with a maritime touch. However, there's also a wide selection available for those who don't like fish. The service was very satisfactory and always friendly, even with large groups. There's a large outdoor terrace and, in case of bad weather, a spacious covered conservatory. The view from the harbor could be nicer, but for those not near the coast, it's spectacular enough, as ships, etc., can be seen in the distance. There's plenty of parking directly at the restaurant.

Food is okay so far, portions were different sizes for us, sometimes a large schnitzel and the next day much smaller, currywurst not enough sauce and steak fries, for the course, price too high for me, ambience quite ok. What a dining experience. What a great and structured service. What a cozy atmosphere. We took a day trip to Cuxhaven! Departure point Helgoland. I wouldn't park there again. 3 hours for 6€ more isn't possible, that's the so-called day ticket. We walked up to the beach. €4.80 if you are not a hotel visitor. There is also a kind of beach "bus" that goes up at certain times if you don't want to/can't walk this route. I can recommend the restaurant, the storm surge to anyone who is nearby. You have a wonderful view of the sea/Elbe. Any time. The staff is super friendly, HOSPITALITY is very important!
