An absolutely top-notch restaurant in Cuxhaven! The location right by the sea is fantastic – the terrace offers a breathtaking view of the Wadden Sea. The ambiance is modern, stylish, and cozy at the same time, perfect for a relaxing evening. The menu offers a great selection: fresh fish dishes, succulent steaks, vegetarian and vegan options – all superbly prepared and beautifully presented. The service is friendly, attentive, and quick, even when the restaurant is full. The value for money is excellent; the quality justifies the slightly higher price. For us, it's one of the best restaurants in the region – we'll definitely be back!

During our short stay in Cuxhaven, we ate at Leuchtfeuer several times. It has a beautiful ambiance, very friendly staff, excellent food, and a fantastic view. A particular highlight is their Advent calendar, where guests receive a little something each day, such as discounts on certain dishes or a complimentary espresso after their main course. It's a really great idea. We'll definitely be back when we're in Cuxhaven again.

We booked a table for the evening in the afternoon, just on a whim, in November. And we were delighted – ribs and schnitzel!

The food was fine, but unfortunately, they don't accept any of today's standard debit cards. Anyone wanting to pay by card needs the outdated EC cards. Update: Even a year later, they still don't accept any standard payment methods. Even Apple Pay, advertised at the door, only works with a registered Girocard, not a debit card, according to the staff. According to Apple's website, this shouldn't be the case. There are no other payment methods or information listed anywhere. We won't be coming back. What a shame.

We came to you because my family really recommended you. They said it was a bit more expensive, but really good. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the food. The schnitzel tasted completely different than I'm used to. My guess is that it was cooked in the same fat/oil as fish dishes. I found it so bad that I almost didn't want to eat it anymore. The service was also absolutely terrible. Cutlery was haphazardly placed on the table, as if to "put it down yourself." The plate with the schnitzel was placed right in the middle of my cutlery. Very strange. I ordered a second wheat beer. It didn't arrive, even after 40 minutes. We only waited 40 minutes because no one came; even paying took that long. But the food came very quickly, and the atmosphere was really good. Overall, I can't recommend it. Too bad

We were spontaneously seated on a Sunday evening during the fall break without a reservation – which is a positive point. The service (or rather, probably the kitchen process) was disastrous: The plates weren't warmed, but piping hot. Really piping hot. Be careful with children (!). An employee handed me my plate, which he couldn't have put on the table even with just one more person. As I held it in both hands, he remarked, "By the way, they're very warm." No, they're piping hot, so I slid it onto the table with great difficulty to avoid getting a blister. I'm not sensitive, but that's not acceptable. There was no apology, just a flippant remark. Afterward, we were ignored by the service – no reordering possible – as if we'd made a mistake. Unprofessional. The problem, in the end, is the kitchen, which really does heat the plates way too hot. All the wait staff were struggling with towels or similar items to get the plates to the tables. The food is okay - the portions are actually too small for the price. Consequently, they should make the portions larger and raise the price by 1-2 euros. However, this isn't enough for a dinner. No credit card payments (MasterCard/Visa), only debit or cash - not up to date.

OTHERWISE ALWAYS 5 STARS!!!! Went there for dinner on October 4, 2025. Personally made a reservation on October 2, didn't get a table, and was seated at the counter in the dining room. OK, it happens. Service was completely confused. We had three... better than none in the long run, but annoying... We've already ordered, thank you... someone has already taken our order, thank you... etc. The UNFORGETTABLE BUT... I ordered the KIKOK chicken, eaten there countless times, and in the past, even made a special detour to LEUCHFEUER to eat it there. IT WASN'T !!!!!! KIKOK CHICKEN, neither yellowish in color nor tender at all. No taste..... IT WAS A NORMAL CHICKEN, LIGHT MEAT, SOMEWHAT FATTY AND SINNEY... with dark bits. DEFINITELY NOT KIKOK!!!!!!!! My companion's fish platter... had everything, as always... fried potatoes, but prepared by someone deeply in love, and the fish had been 'swimming' in the pan for far too long..... I didn't say anything, because it was supposed to be a nice evening on vacation, and my companion had paid for the meal to please me..... And the wonderful moments I've already had there. I hope it was just an oversight..... But 'selling' a cheap, lower-quality product as a high-quality one..... I'm sorry. That's not okay.

At first I thought I'd done something wrong, but the other guests were also being stared at hostilely by the waitresses. The food was, well, okay. However, my reorder for drinks unfortunately didn't arrive. Not again!!!

We've been coming to Cuxhaven several times a year for decades and visit the lighthouse every time. The view of the beach, the water (when it's there), or the mudflats is simply world-class. On a clear day, Neuwerk is clearly visible. Depending on the time of day, we enjoy the delicious cake with coffee or cappuccino. The rhubarb cake with meringue is simply delicious and a really large slice. At lunchtime or as a snack, I love the lighthouse fries. They're a must-try. The food is always freshly prepared and uses only good ingredients. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. Depending on the weather and time of day, it can be difficult to get a seat. Then you just have to wait a bit. It's definitely worth it.

We were in Cuxhaven with the kids and on our last day we went to Leuchtfeuer. It was worth it, both for the vegetarians and for those who eat meat and fish. The waitress recommended dishes to us, and we didn't regret it. Prices are absolutely fair, and the view is fantastic. Clean, fast, and friendly. What more could you want?

The food and service are truly top-notch. So is the ambiance and the view. The prices are comparatively high (over €20 per dish), but this is probably due to the good location, and therefore acceptable. The only downside is that I find it a little out of place that credit card payments (including Apple Pay and Google Pay) are not accepted.

Magnificent ambience and delicious food!

The only positive aspect was the beautiful location on the dike, with a view of the mudflats and the island of Neuwerk. The food we ordered, including a vegetarian burger with fries, is definitely not recommendable in terms of taste and especially price. The price of €24 (!!) for the served meal can only be considered absolutely outrageous.

A wannabe trendy restaurant. Prices are overpriced. The staff seems arrogant. We were last here three years ago and enjoyed a nightcap. This year we were really disappointed. After many years, we wanted to try again. Today, the potential customers on the terrace were even ignored. Despite looking at the staff at the counter, we were unfortunately not served, even though it wasn't full. Guests at two other tables left the terrace with us. What a shame.

The food was really very good. We would have expected a bit more friendliness from the service, and our seat outside on the terrace was suboptimal because the wind blasted across the window so hard that our food got cold very quickly, and so did we. A small tarp in that spot would have quickly remedied this.

The food was consistently delicious, and the menu was sometimes refreshingly different from the "standard" dishes offered in every restaurant in town. The ambiance, especially outside, was very pleasant, with a great view of the Wadden Sea. It was quite drafty for sensitive people, despite the existing, but open-topped, glass windows. We've visited several times in recent years, but this year the service (we can only speak for the outside area) has noticeably deteriorated. Waiting times of 20 minutes or more between being seated by the staff and the first contact to order are simply too long, especially when only half the tables are occupied. Then, at times, the service staff behaved erratically. For example, an order was taken (electronically) at the next table and, without responding to our attempted contact, they rushed back into the restaurant. Then a few more minutes passed, and food was brought out; once again, we were ignored. It was only thanks to my wife's patience that we stayed seated. We saw at least two tables get up and leave without being served. It's not due to a lack of friendliness, but the service staff seems quite overworked. It's a shame; I don't think we'll be coming back.

Nice ambiance, at least for watching the sunset. Tables were sticky, and the service didn't come, so we left. The prices weren't really our cup of tea either, but that's probably due to the location and the place! Well, at least we know where not to go again!

The food was good, but unfortunately not good enough to be considered good value for money. The service still has a lot of room for improvement! The young man who served us was rude and very bored. Only the lady with the glasses and the lighthouse hoodie was friendly and accommodating! The wait was long, more than an hour after ordering. It's a shame, we won't be back.

We came here on our vacation to celebrate my birthday. The seating is lovely, and outside you have a fantastic view of the North Sea. The food was delicious; we highly recommend the loaf of bread, especially as a starter. We had the tarte flambée schnitzel. It was tasty but a bit dry; for us, it lacked the typical creaminess of tarte flambée. The wildberry Lillet was delicious; we would definitely come back.

The food was delicious, but the price-performance ratio wasn't right at all. The service wasn't in a hurry to serve customers. If you ask where the food is after an hour, you only get rude answers.

I haven't waited this long for food in a long time. I was there with my family, and we all ordered something, which shouldn't take much time. People who had ordered a few minutes earlier got their food much earlier. We then asked how long it would take, and no one even listened to us (but that was only one person, the lady was super nice). Then finally, the food arrived. The food itself was good, except for the Coke, I wasn't expecting syrup Coke 🤷🏼‍♀️, and the interior was much too small.

In good weather, it's a great location and offers a view of the sea and the mudflats. You can even see the island of Neuwerk and the ships coming and going. The herring was very good, and the fish and chips were good. The service was okay. The seats were so-so.

The young waitresses were really friendly. They had a pleasant demeanor and were prompt. The ambiance... difficult. It wasn't my cup of tea. High benches, a sticky table, a bit cramped for my taste. I didn't eat anything; the prices were too high for that, personally. Example: a regular fruit tea... And we're talking about tea here. Nothing extraordinary. Just hot water in a tea glass (not a pot) with a few herbs for €4.50? Again, we're talking about water with a few herbs. I'm aware that everything is getting more expensive, but this? That's exaggerated. Just for comparison, their rum grog is the same price. And there was nothing special there. Just water and a tea bag. Too expensive for my taste.

Things didn't start off so well: being told "cake is sold out" at 5 p.m. on a summer Sunday made you wonder about the kitchen planning. The "Hot Apple Crumble with Vanilla Sauce Shot" I chose from the dessert menu for €8.90 initially seemed very modest in terms of quantity (crumble can also be translated as "crumbs" and "shot" as a shot glass – so it wasn't a lie at all). The first time I tried it, the cute little pot arrived mostly refrigerator-cold. When I politely complained, I was told "it has to be that way." When I then decided to have it warmed up anyway, the heating on the second attempt had probably triggered a chemical reaction, which now revealed a pungent, bitter taste of something like old frying oil (?). The whole experience came with a latte macchiato for a total of €15. Conclusion: Nothing & no one is useless. He/she can still serve as a bad example.

We really had a wonderful evening at Beacon. Everything was perfect! The quality of the food, the service and the ambience! Great wine list, delicious cocktails and above all excellent fish! But burger lovers will also get their money's worth here. Likewise the open kitchen system where you can watch the chefs at work!

First of all, the food was really good. We had two burgers with really good meat, absolutely delicious 👍. Highly recommended! Since we were sitting outside, we had to wait 30 minutes for a server, along with others! So the first drink didn't arrive at our table until 40 minutes after we arrived... Well, it just looks like they're understaffed. The ambiance with the sea view in Dhunen is unique, though.

Wir waren mal gerne hier aber bereits 2024 war es erheblich schlechter als früher. (2024 : Ofenkartoffel musste wegen fauliger Stellen getauscht werden. Die zweite war dann auch nicht ok. Bedienung überfordert.) Dieses Mal wollten wir der Pfifferlingssonderkarte eine Chance geben. Aber an jedem Gericht war die selbe Pampe aus Pfifferlingen, zu viel Speck und Rahm. Geschmacklich nichts bemerkenswertes. Der Rest der Gerichte war durchwachsen. Das Gemüse auf dem Veggie Flammkuchen teilweise so hart, dass man es mit dem Messer nicht schneiden konnte. Die Optionen, in Duhnen gut zu essen, werden immer weniger. Location weiterhin top. Ggf halt nur was trinken. Der optisch attraktive Kuchen war schon immer nicht sonderlich lecker.

The Leuchtfeuer enjoys a fantastic location with stunning views of the Cuxhaven Wadden Sea. The restaurant serves delicious food and cocktails, and also offers top-notch live music.

Attentive service ♡, pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, that couldn't make up for the €25 schnitzel, which was dripping in fat and no more than 0.5 cm thick (excluding breading). A real shame.

We spontaneously visited Leuchtfeuer last weekend, and based on the prices, we expected a lot more...two drinks, two portions of fish and chips, and a baked goat's cheese (which we shared as a starter) came to around €65. We really enjoyed the starter, but the fish and chips clearly had the fat from the fryer (it's not the best way to do it), the breading on the fish was much too hard because it had been fried for too long, and the fries were unfortunately still very wobbly on the inside. The atmosphere is really nice, but unfortunately, we won't be back for the food, but we'd be happy to have a drink.

Located right on the promenade, with a view of the Wadden Sea, you can enjoy excellent food, coffee and cake, or simply a cold drink. Even when the place is packed, the service remains calm and friendly. We've been coming back here time and again since 2014.
