The beyti was simply terrible. Served cold, with sauce slapped on top and lettuce in the middle (?) Where can you get something like that? Normally, beyti is served with bulgur everywhere. It wasn't available here at all. Only the ayran was good. For €21, you can find much, much better.

We were with family, we all enjoyed the dishes, mine was a plate of adana kebab + lamb skewer and it was delicious, service, staff and atmosphere at the top!

Even though there were more than 10 of us, they were quite quick with the ordering and service. The food was also delicious.

I was not satisfied with their service at all because they were very disrespectful and came late to take the order to the customer. I do not recommend it at all. Their kebabs were also tasteless. In other words, we felt like we threw away the money we paid.

It's very overpriced. The fries were raw. The staff weren't accommodating. I had to pay extra for fries. I don't understand why. I've never experienced anything like that, even though you can simply swap it for rice. The meat from Tavik Sis was very soft, not even crispy. So, the bottom line: it used to be very good, but not anymore. Today, it's not about quality, but quantity.

Great food, very high-quality meat. I'm from Mannheim and we ate here with our friends. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious. The paprika sauce (paste) was homemade and absolutely delicious with the fresh bread. My lamb skewers were tender and delicious with the bulgur. I'm Greek and love Mediterranean food. All in all, a great restaurant that I highly recommend. I'll be back with my wife, as we have so many times before.

Four of us went to this restaurant today. I ordered a Ciger Sis and the others each ordered a Beyti. We were very disappointed with both dishes. The Beyti had seasoned yogurt in the middle, but this one was just a regular salad. The red sauce should actually be a sauce, not red water or something like that. The Ciger Sis came with bulgur and no lavash, and it was cut way too large. It was completely unacceptable. The ambiance was way too dark... it felt like the same music was playing ten times. The restaurant was way too hot and loud. We paid €98 for four dishes, including Ayran. Conclusion: I wouldn't bother with it again.

I can't understand the positive average reviews here. The salad was bland and lacked dressing, the meat wasn't particularly spicy or warm, and the rice side dish was also lacking in flavor. Anyone who knows good Turkish food expects more. Plus, card payments aren't accepted; the crowd was 2,025. What a shame.

It used to be my favorite restaurant. The quality has since declined significantly, and the food is served cold. The prices have gotten so high in this place; €44 for a grilled plate for one person is simply outrageous. This will be the last time I eat there.

While Ocakbaşı has been the preferred choice of many Muslims for its delicious and reliable food for years, Boycott hasn't stopped selling its products even after two years. I really don't understand what's good about this restaurant... I personally think it has little to do with real Turkish cuisine, especially Anatolian cuisine!!!!!! The salads are dry, hardly any dressing... the bulgur and Turkish rice are also too dry and again have no seasoning, and there's the typical green pointed peppers that give the bulgur a juicy note!!! The bread was neither fresh nor soft.... I really don't recommend this restaurant, especially not to those who are familiar with real Anatolian cuisine... and the drinks are also mini-sized!!!

I ordered a farmer's salad for over €10.00. It was a farmer's salad, but the size of a side salad. It wasn't marked as a side salad on the menu. The price is truly outrageous. Over the last few times, we've repeatedly noticed that the service, portions, and prices have deteriorated. This was probably our last visit.

If you want to have good food and enjoy every bite, this is the place. I am always pleased with their food and wide selection of specialities. Everything is halal too. Be sure to have cash with you!

The overall concept of the establishment impresses with a remarkable authenticity, manifested not only in the use of original spice blends and preparation techniques, but also in the ambivalent and lively spatial atmosphere, which, with increased acoustic resonance—in other words, a little more volume—creates a distinctive "vacation on the Bosphorus" effect. The culinary composition I chose consisted of a classic Turkish rice dish accompanied by an Adana kebab, a meat specialty characterized by precisely seasoned, finely ground meat, which develops a charismatic aroma over an open charcoal grill, which, thanks to the practiced grilling process, guarantees an optimal Maillard reaction. The consistency of the rice was cooked to perfection, its texture fluffy yet crunchy, achieving a successful balance between hydration and chewiness. The culinary expedition was rounded off with kunefe for dessert, a sweet and cheesy dessert made from fine strands of angel hair dough. Its combination of warm, slightly caramelized dough and melted cheese presented a textural and flavor duality that was extremely successful. It was my first time there, but the food wasn't good at all. The coffee they brought me wasn't worth €2. They charged me €22. They didn't put it on the menu so the first person to eat would get what they wanted. It's not good at all. I hope no one else goes there. It's a shame to pay a single euro there.

I ordered a grilled platter for 80 euros. They served two lamb chops and a lamb skewer. The rest was minced meat and doner kebab. The salad was a joke. I understand now why the place was so empty. I will never eat here again.

If you are craving Turkish food there are plenty of options in the center, but if you are looking for the best of the best, go here. No matter what you eat you keep falling in love with their food. Be ready to wait atleast 15-20 mins on the weekends.

We've been here several times and have to say you get more than enough. We recommend making a reservation on weekends and bringing an empty stomach, as the plate is more than full.

A €44 grilled plate per person, €80 for two people. You still get small portions, four small pieces of bread, and rice costs extra. EC card payments aren't accepted, but there's an ATM next to the restaurant with a €6 withdrawal fee—what a coincidence. Despite these prices, the air conditioning in the restaurant remains off. The salad was poorly cooked and had flies and stones in it. Better to eat somewhere else on the market square!

One of the best restaurants serving halal meat. The ambiance is also beautiful (I'm not a fan of the music, though, but that's a matter of taste). It was the first time I've eaten such good, pure meat. I'll be back for the taste experience. The service is also 10/10, super friendly and accommodating.

I ordered chicken sis and liver sis. Although it was not mixed on the menu, thankfully they were helpful. As for the food evaluation, the chicken sis was 10 out of 10, but I found the liver dry. I think it would be better to serve lavash instead of pita bread with the shish kebabs, because then you can make your own wrap and eat it. Besides, unfortunately the rice pilaf tasted bad, I think they didn't put butter in it. Finally, when I said I wanted to have tea after the meal, they said it was not on Sundays. As for the price evaluation, the prices may be a bit expensive for Mannheim, but since they offer us so many different kinds of kebabs on a real grill in Germany, I think it is still acceptable.

My overall experience at Türk Sofrası Ocakbaşı Mannheim was not very satisfying. First of all, the atmosphere in the restaurant was very dark, which did not create a pleasant atmosphere. The food tasted really good; especially the kebabs were delicious. However, there was no tea service after the meal; there was no tea in the restaurant, which was disappointing for me. Also, when we tried to pay with a credit card, there was no such option. All of this makes me less willing to come back.

Very expensive for these portions. Disappointing. Tasteless, and the portions are like children's portions! Staff unfriendly and unresponsive to customer requests. A real waste of money.

There were two of us here, we are visiting from North Rhine-Westphalia, we haven't had such a bad meal in a long time and the portions are so overpriced. The food wasn't even seasoned and tasted absolutely nothing. The meat on my kebab plate was already cold and the portion size was absolutely not recommended for a 2 year old.

Frankly, it was good after the absence in Munich. Adana kebabs were nice. The kids loved the doner kebab, it was quite big and filling. The prices seemed a bit expensive, we also wanted to drink ayran. What we received was plain ayran without foam, but nice sparkling ayran was served to other tables, I honestly did not understand why this happened. We bought kunefe for dessert and we liked it very much. I deducted one star due to the differences in buttermilk and prices. I definitely recommend it.

The best Adana skewer in all of Mannheim can definitely be found at Ocakbasi on the market square! What also speaks for the restaurant is the fact that every dish is served with a salad, bread basket and, upon request, a tube of sauce. However, a star has to be deducted for the ambience. Unfortunately, people sit very close together in the restaurant and the background noise is also very loud.

It was tasteless and saltless and has nothing to do with Ocakbaşı, and the employees are inexperienced and uninterested. It's not the place to go.

Until a week ago I would probably have given it 5/5 stars because it has been my absolute favorite restaurant in Mannheim for years. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. 1) Mezze was no longer brought to the table like before 2) we were there during Ramadan last week and were the only guests (two of us) along with two other tables. Even after it was clear that we were finished, one of the employees stood around for minutes without clearing the completely full table. 3)We were not offered Çay after the meal 4) You couldn't pay with a card, but this wasn't stated ANYWHERE, it was only said when paying.. My highlight was the food poisoning that I got that same evening and caused me to vomit several times throughout the night until I couldn't stop. Since I hadn't eaten anything else that day except ice cream, which my companion also ate, it was clear that the poisoning came from the lamb meat (I had skewers). Unfortunately never again.

Craving for Turkish cuisine then Sofrasi is the place you should be at. They serve really good dishes made up of lamb, chicken. The staff was kind and friendly. Overall a good place, better price to portion position compared to surrounding restaurants. Must visit

Our last visit was very bad We ordered Adana and meatball plate, first came Adana and 15 minutes later the meatballs arrived and the bulgur on the plate was cold as if it had just come out of the fridge.

I can't understand the reviews for the life of me. We were there today for breaking the fast, and our main course arrived just 30 minutes after iftar. The meat was dry, the kofte was overseasoned, and the fries were cold. The Mercimek soup was very watery, but at least it was the highlight of the flavor. The staff was extremely friendly. The price-performance ratio was still completely off. By the way, you can't pay by card, and you don't get tea after your meal... Today was our first and definitely our last time there. There are definitely better alternatives in the immediate area.

Today I spontaneously looked for a place to have lunch for me and my 4-year-old daughter. My daughter really wanted to go to this restaurant and eat there (because it looks so nice). She was given her own menu and was looked after wonderfully by the waiters, no request was too crazy (there were fries AND rice with the lamb). We felt incredibly welcome and would love to come back. Both me and my daughter enjoyed it very much.

Four of us ate here on a weekday The staff was friendly and always quick and helpful, which we liked. However, the food was not appropriate for the price, we had lamb skewers three times and a dish with kebab meat once, as well as a number of paste starters. The starters were okay, the side salads were fresh but very small with a lemon dressing to drizzle over them. We were served white rice and bread for the main courses; it was only later that we noticed that the dressed bulgur was missing. The lamb dishes were very tasty, but the portion was relatively small. The kebab meat dish was sufficient, but the taste was unspectacular and not very seasoned. The restaurant itself was authentically decorated, it was clean, but a bit noisy. Overall we didn't think it was reasonable for the price and would try another restaurant next time.

Disappointing and Overpriced – Avoid This Place! I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. I ordered the so-called Mixed Grill for 41 euros, expecting a generous and satisfying meal. Instead, what I received wasn’t even enough for one person! The portion was shockingly small, and it felt like a complete rip-off. The restaurant clearly overcharges for what they serve, and the value for money is non-existent. I left feeling betrayed and hungry. If you’re looking for a decent meal, run the other way! This place is nothing but an overpriced scam. Save your money and dine elsewhere.

Unfortunately, our visit to Mannheim okacbasi was a big disappointment. Despite a confirmed reservation, we were not offered a place and the staff seemed completely overwhelmed. In addition, no one could speak German properly, which made communication extremely difficult. The service was unfriendly and disinterested - no apology, no suggestions for solutions. Something like this shouldn't happen in a restaurant. We ended up having to eat somewhere else. Absolutely not recommended! I even got a call back saying my reservation still existed.
