We went to Mannheim from Switzerland for a trip and sat down at this restaurant for dinner. We ordered three mixed kebabs, but we wish we hadn't. We waited a full hour for our order. The waiter just said, "Okay, it's coming," and left. After an hour, we couldn't take it anymore; they brought our drinks, we paid for them, and left. The staff were indifferent. An elderly gentleman wandering around looked quite distressed. When we asked him about it, he brazenly said we were 160th in line. Unfortunately, some mindsets don't change, even if the location changes. Instead of apologizing, he gave such an unpleasant response.

Unfortunately, our visit to Lale Restaurant in Mannheim was a huge disappointment. The wait was over an hour, even though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. Our order was initially forgotten, and when the food finally arrived, all the orders were wrong. Instead of the requested side dishes, we always received fries, regardless of what we had actually ordered. Furthermore, the quality of the food was very poor: half the dishes were either burnt or still raw and therefore barely edible. The service was unprofessional overall, and complaints were met only with excuses instead of solutions or an apology. Given the very high prices, the quality offered is absolutely unacceptable. Overall, the price-performance ratio is completely out of whack, which is why we unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant.

I had eaten here before and was very satisfied, so I chose it again. There were three of us. I don't want to deny the quality of the food; it was quite good. However, I was a bit disappointed with the service this time. We ordered soup, but there were no spoons. We asked for spoons, and they came, but there was no vinegar or garlic for the soup. We tried to order, but they wouldn't even look at our order. We ordered a mixed grill, Adana kebab, and chicken skewers, but they brought them without grilled tomatoes, peppers, and onions. We asked the waitress where half the zucchini was, and she said she'd go tell the chef. A minute later, she came back and said something like, "Unfortunately, we're very busy today, you'll have to manage like this." We asked if we could get the grilled tomatoes and peppers later. The waitress went and asked again, came back, and said, "Unfortunately, you'll have to manage somehow today." If you don't have the ingredients, don't take customers or offer menus. Say it clearly from the start. Then four children from our family came to our table; they had been out for a while. They wouldn't let them into the restaurant at all, saying, "Unfortunately, we're having to manage like this today," and that they were closing. We said from the beginning that the family business would continue, if you were going to close the shop anyway, you shouldn't have hired us then. It definitely won't be a place you'd choose again.

We had to wait a very long time for the food...the food didn't impress me, nor did the restaurant...we won't be going there again.

You can have unlimited buffet until 2 PM. It's a nice touch that they charge for leftover food and drinks on plates to prevent waste, but I haven't seen them actually implement it. They constantly replenish supplies until the end of service hours. The staff and cashier are friendly and polite.

I don't even know where to begin or end. In short, the food was definitely the lowest quality, both in terms of ingredients and meat, but that wasn't the main issue. My only problem today was that I wanted to pay with my discount voucher booklet. It states that these vouchers can't be used on public holidays, but Sunday isn't a holiday. When I told the owner this, he simply said curtly that it wasn't possible and he didn't want to discuss it. It was strange that he told us the vouchers couldn't be used on public holidays; we already knew that. But when we pointed out it was Sunday, he just ignored it and acted as if it applied to Sundays too. He also said there were plenty of customers who didn't need the voucher, yet he participated in the discount program. It's absolutely outrageous that they just make up their own rules and treat customers like that. Disgusting!

There were four of us at Lale's this Sunday, December 28, 2026, for the breakfast buffet. We wanted to use our Schlemmerblock coupon with the 2-for-1 offer. However, the owner said it wasn't valid on public holidays. This is also stated in the terms and conditions. We pointed out that today was a regular Sunday, not a public holiday. He then said quite rudely that he wouldn't discuss it and that he didn't need to advertise. We replied that we weren't concerned about his advertising and that he had to abide by the terms of the contract he had entered into. He couldn't make arbitrary decisions. He replied again that there would be no discussion. So we paid the full price. For years, our family had often gone there for Sunday breakfast, even before this Schlemmerblock offer, which only started on December 1, 2026, was introduced. We had always been satisfied. But we won't be eating there again, as we find it very disappointing that even the owner doesn't adhere to the terms and conditions he himself set. That's not fair play, and it's truly a shame that such decisions are made arbitrarily to avoid losses. We have already submitted our complaint in writing to the Schlemmerblock (a discount booklet).

My visit to Lale was unfortunately a very negative experience. Right from the start, we were accused of frequent customers who always tried to avoid paying – even though my companion was visiting the restaurant for the very first time. This created a very unpleasant atmosphere and overshadowed the entire experience. The food was also disappointing: the chicken skewer was burnt on the outside and still raw on the inside. When we politely pointed this out, the response was not constructive; instead of showing understanding or offering any assistance, an unnecessary argument ensued. After this experience, we certainly won't be returning. We found neither the respectful treatment of guests nor the quality of the food acceptable.

Our experience at Lale today was truly disappointing. We went with our two sisters, our children, and our spouses. First of all, the service was incredibly long. Despite having two children, and even three small children, with us, our orders arrived completely disorganized and late. Our spouses' soup was served first. Then, a later order of pizza and döner arrived at the table. Our children's meals arrived last. The delay was attributed to "lack of staff and overcrowding," but the restaurant was half empty. This explanation was completely inconsistent. Another disappointment came when we paid our bill. There was an ad on the window that said a €5 parking fee was covered for orders of €50 or more. Since we had exceeded that amount, we wanted to take advantage of this offer. However, the restaurant owner told us that this promotion would start in December. Despite the ad's lack of a specific date, he claimed this. In other words, it was clearly misleading. In our opinion, this is pure misleading. In conclusion, the food was unsatisfactory, the service was terrible, and customer honesty was unacceptable. Therefore, we absolutely do not recommend Lale. It's a business that shows no respect for customers and doesn't keep its promises.

We ate there last December, a group of four ordered four different dishes, and unfortunately, none of them were very tasty. Before our visit, I called to ask if a reservation was necessary, and they said no. When we arrived, all the tables along the wall were reserved, and we had to sit in the middle where everyone was walking through, making it completely uncomfortable. I asked the waitress why the tables were reserved, as I had been told they didn't accept reservations. She responded rudely. Despite this, I wanted to give it another try this year and went for breakfast on Saturday. I called, since they apparently do accept reservations, and simply wanted to reserve a table. The waitress said, "As a matter of principle, I don't make reservations." What does "as a matter of principle" even mean? Where is the customer satisfaction? And to say that directly in response to my normal question! Your competitors are much more customer-friendly. Unfortunately, as far as I know, they don't have a breakfast buffet, but their lunch service is a 10/10, while yours is simply a 0/10.

We went to Lale Restaurant this evening, and I absolutely cannot recommend it. The service was terrible—unfriendly, slow, and completely disorganized. The food was mediocre at best and not worth the price in any way. For what was offered, the restaurant is clearly overpriced. Truly disappointing, and certainly not a place I will visit again.

My experience at this restaurant was unfortunately very disappointing. A waiter, who was quite powerfully built and whose appearance reminded me somewhat of someone from Afghanistan (just a description, not a judgment), treated us extremely rudely during our visit. My sister ordered a large drink, but he misheard her as "small." While the order was being processed, we pointed this out to him. He replied, and I quote: "No, tough luck. Tough luck, I'll bring you a small one anyway." He didn't correct the order and later actually brought the small one, even though we had repeatedly asked for the correct size. When we also asked if they had doner kebabs, he immediately and very rudely replied: "No doner, no doner." This was despite the doner kebab being clearly visible. When we asked him about it, he even said he wouldn't recommend the meat because it was "from yesterday." This completely baffled us, and he said it in a very unfriendly manner as well. We felt disrespected, not taken seriously, and absolutely not treated with customer service. The food was also completely unconvincing. There's a competitor right next door in Mannheim that is clearly superior in both taste and service. Therefore, I cannot recommend this restaurant. I would advise everyone to visit the neighboring establishments instead; you'll receive much better service and the quality is significantly higher.

Tea and juice are included, which I think is really great. For €16, it's absolutely recommended – we'll definitely be back!

I like coming here for the lunch buffet because there's a wide selection of dishes (usually at least two with meat) and also plenty of side dishes (fries/rice/potatoes, lots of vegetables, a few fried items), salads, and a dessert station and fruit. The price is more than reasonable at €15, and I have to say the food tastes *very* good; especially the meat here is cooked/fried to perfection and well-seasoned. There's also a breakfast buffet before lunch and on weekends. While I prefer other breakfast buffets in the area, you can have an omelet made on-site, which is great. It gets very busy on weekends, though, as the breakfast selection is actually even larger (especially when it comes to bread and cakes). One small criticism: people from outside often come to beg at the tables, which seems to be tolerated by the staff – it's not the end of the world for me, but oh well. You can also eat à la carte here, of course; the pide are especially popular and look absolutely delicious!

You should definitely go to the restaurant hungry if you order this dish, as it would be a shame to leave any leftovers. Fresh bread and small side dishes are served alongside, rounding off the meal. Overall, the Lale restaurant offers an excellent combination of delicious food, generous portions, and a very pleasant atmosphere. Anyone looking for a restaurant in Mannheim that impresses with both taste and price should definitely plan a visit. I'll definitely be back!

Mittagsbuffet was good and had nice service. They refilled very quickly.

We come here often, but unfortunately, the quality is getting worse and worse. Today we had the grilled platter for two people again. The lamb was brought five minutes later than the platter. The chef had forgotten it. It was obvious. It was dried out and rock hard. Then I realized the lahmacun was also missing. It arrived lukewarm and with white cheese. The table was cleared, which was fine. But so were the half-full glasses. We didn't want to argue any further. We won't be back. The friendliness was also very poor. The restrooms were very dirty.

If there was an option to give 0 stars or minus for the service, I would choose that. The food is not worth the price, not very tasty. They charge a fee for children under 7 years old. I paid 9 Euros for my 4-year-old daughter. I will not come again and I will not recommend it to anyone.

Unfortunately, the breakfast has declined considerably. The sausage was in a tomato soup, the sucuk was dry, and many hot containers were almost empty and not refilled (we were there around 11 a.m.). Other guests also seemed visibly disappointed. Several dishes, including the soups, were dried out and discolored around the edges of the containers. Unfortunately, it's no longer worth the price. When prices rise, quality should also keep pace – unfortunately, the opposite was the case here.

The waiters are very friendly. I wouldn't recommend the Döner Restaurant here. The Döner meat wasn't cooked well and was served a bit pink. I tried a couple of the cooked pieces, but the meat didn't taste good at all. My son only ate the Pommesi, thinking it looked good in the picture, but he couldn't eat it. He, like me, normally enjoys any Döner Meat. May God bless the food, but we only managed to eat that little bit of Pommesi. So, we went hungry and came back hungry. My wife chose the mixed grill, but she liked it.

A friendly welcome at the door is important to us, and I value this greatly. We ordered some of the food, but we didn't like it, but the other dishes were delicious and tasty. Service was quick, considering the small crowd, and we didn't have to wait. The price wasn't expensive, so it didn't break the bank. Mr. Owl came by that day, and we chatted and chatted, and overall, it was a wonderful day. We went from Mainz. The mosque was also very important to us, so we thanked him for that.

Ansonsten war es okay.

We paid 40 euros for pide, soup, a grill plate, ayran and coke. The dishes were prepared very quickly. After dinner it started to rain heavily and a restaurant employee called us a taxi - which was a very nice gesture. Service and food were at the highest level!

The owner is honest and said that Ali Nazik's eggplant is canned, but in many places they want to claim that we make it ourselves, even though it is like that. As a result, it is my first choice when going to restaurants in Mannheim.

Unfortunately, despite having made a reservation, we were moved to the adjacent upper floor. After a stressful 45 minutes my food arrived and after another 15 minutes my wife's food arrived. Both dishes were cold. Unfortunately Adana is still raw (not medium but raw). Not nearly as good as the surrounding restaurants. The only thing that worked smoothly was the card payment. The toilets can only be accessed via the backyard balcony. We don't come here anymore.

Waited 40 minutes for food, my record waiting time, thank you for that. Drinks weren't so cola, it tasted like syrupy cola, food wasn't good either, chicken, little veal, lamb, etc... with the mix grill plate.. Food gets a rating of 5 bad Drinks grade 6 bad Salad 4 is still possible and can be eaten Service 3 were nice, correct but a bit slow... Conclusion. Only in an emergency...

A pure disappointment, close to a rip-off! We are often in the area to eat in the surrounding typical Turkish restaurants and therefore have a good comparison. However, since there were long queues for a table everywhere on Saturday evening between 7 and 8 p.m., which was the shortest at Lale, we decided on Lale. We couldn't shake the impression that this was exactly what was being exploited. Prices are extremely high for the area. According to expectations. Unfortunately, these were not fulfilled. When it came to drinks, we were served the large version without asking, without asking whether it was “big or small”. We waited an extremely long time for the Esseb. At the First bite I had a sandy, dirty feeling in my mouth. It was a piece of charcoal. We had lamb skewer once and chicken skewer once. The plates of the main courses were miserably filled and carelessly presented. My actual 2 skewers were only about 1.3 skewers and the second skewer, almost half of it, was definitely not chicken, but something else. And that for 18€. I'm willing to pay that much for a chicken dish, but only if the quality is right. The price-performance ratio here is definitely not right!!!! Especially since it is more of a fast-food restaurant and the atmosphere has nothing to do with “eating out in a relaxed atmosphere”. This must be reflected in the price, which it definitely isn't. You weren't asked if everything was ok, which reinforces the impression that it was a deliberate rip-off.

Forced to be there. Unfortunately, my local restaurant had an extremely high volume, so I wanted to give the Lale Restaurant a chance. Spontaneously went on a Saturday at 6 p.m. and immediately got a table without waiting. The atmosphere is very loud and restless. It felt like you were waiting at a train station, people were constantly walking past you and hanging on to the tables. The waiter was friendly and helpful. Value for money is lacking, small portions, which were unfortunately served cold. The taste was okay, but with an Iskender plate costing just under €20 you can expect it to arrive warm and contain more than 150g of meat instead of 80% yoghurt.

We were there for breakfast today. The smell in the restaurant was very unpleasant and the toilet was also not recommended...which overall made us "sick". It is definitely not recommended
