Good restaurant with Italian flair.

We stopped here because of the good reviews and were completely disappointed: Chicken was already out at lunchtime, even though it was on the daily menu, tagliatelle with vegetables were floating in a Maggi soup - which was probably supposed to be white wine sauce, wasn't on the menu and didn't taste like it at all. The asparagus in the meal was barely peeled and was inedible due to the peel. The homemade lemonade for almost 6 euros consisted mainly of mineral water and syrup. Even the cappuccino provided by the house as an apology couldn't make up for the 50 euro bill for 2 people and the bad food. Service rather annoyed. We cannot recommend this restaurant. Too bad!

I went to Pane e Vino a few times with the family last summer and overall I was really impressed. Above all, I liked the large selection of vegetarian dishes, which is not always the case with Italians. But there were always fluctuations in the quality of the food. For example, I thought the antipasti or tagliatelle with pear, pine nuts and gorgonzola was great. My wife once had panzerotti with swordfish that she didn't like very much and my father-in-law's ravioli with osso buco was probably not good at all. But overall the impression was positive, so I decided to spend Valentine's Day there with my wife. This time, of course, we were indoors and I immediately noticed that it wasn't quite as comfortable inside as it was outside. Although the hall would actually be spacious, it is so full of tables that everything is very narrow. Of course you want to serve a lot of customers, but in its form it seemed very cluttered. I don't know what on earth happened to the toilet either. To be fair, there was at least a usable cubicle available, but being greeted with the rubble of the urinal as soon as you went to the toilet doesn't make a particularly good impression. But the biggest problem was the overall experience yesterday. Of course we had made a reservation by phone in advance, but when we arrived they couldn't find our name. There was no apology or anything like that. At some point another waitress came over and said that she already knew about it and would take care of it. She then led us to a table and explained that we had an hour to eat. First of all: I don't know what exactly went wrong and I don't want to be ungrateful that an alternative could be spontaneously made clear on such a busy evening, but we were looking forward to an evening at Pane e Vino and not about eating our food in such a short time. Open communication would have been nice here - perhaps a short apology or explanation of what exactly happened. Instead we were really only offered a table for an hour - eat or die. Since we couldn't quickly come up with an alternative to eating out, we decided to go for it, but wanted to make it clear once again in a very friendly way that we had really made a reservation, whereupon the waitress simply left without a word - not very professionally. When we ordered we tried it a second time. It was then said, “We’ll see what we can do,” which was then ignored. Here, too, I wouldn't have expected any miracles, but a short "We're sorry. We made a mistake, but the table for the hour is the best we can offer right now." would at least have been friendly. Mistakes can happen (even if I don't know how they happened), but then they should be communicated openly. We then ordered, skipped the starter, dessert and wine, just quickly ate our main courses and paid. The food was good, although not outstanding. My wife's tagliatelle with beef fillet tips were very tasty, even if the beef was a bit coarsely cut this time. My ravioli with porcini mushroom filling tasted good, even if the herb butter tasted a bit watery. But the food wasn't the problem here this time. Difficult to make an overall judgment here. If you sit outside, just want something quick to eat and order the right things, you can have a good experience here. However, Pane e Vino seems unsuitable for a cozy or romantic evening and seems more like a tourist check-in. It's a shame because I was happy to finally have found an Italian restaurant with a good vegetarian menu, but under the conditions I won't be coming back.

An absolute insider tip for lovers of Italian cuisine! From the starter to the dessert everything was perfect. The pasta was homemade and cooked to perfection - you can simply taste the quality of the ingredients. I would particularly like to highlight the friendly and attentive service, which made the evening even more pleasant. The atmosphere is cozy and authentic, you immediately feel like you are in Italy. We'll definitely be back!

We got a table outside after the other guests had finished. We took the table and placed an order. After 10 minutes the waitress came to us and said that the other guests who came to the restaurant later than us were waiting for this table. She offered us to go indoors instead of offering this to the other guests. We didn't want that and had to leave the restaurant and cancel our order. Something like this shouldn't happen.

Quaint Italian restaurant in downtown Potsdam. Delicious pasta dishes, but no pizza. That's what makes it so appealing, as the noodles are made in-house. There's no chance of not leaving here full and satisfied.

The reception was very pleasant, it took 30 minutes for the first order, and with four drinks, one was forgotten. The dishes looked very good and appealing, but in terms of taste they fell by the wayside. So there is no price-performance ratio here. For the comments on the dishes, we would have given an espresso on the house as a courtesy. Conclusion of the evening, not here again.

We went here for the first time yesterday after the restaurant was recommended to me. The food (two pasta dishes) was really delicious and well prepared, the drinks were also delicious. We found the price-performance ratio to be very fair. The interior design is remarkable, we felt like we were in a cozy place in the heart of Italy. Unfortunately, despite having a reservation, we were made to wait 10 minutes before we were seated. That too at a “temporary place”, where we then stayed. Hence the service deduction. Afterwards, the employees were friendly, attentive and helpful. Overall, we really liked it and we definitely want to come back. Hopefully then without complications :)

The restaurant offers a charming Italian ambience and serves authentic, delicious Italian dishes. The staff is very friendly. There were three of us there and all the dishes were really tasty - you can tell that they were prepared with a lot of love. I can recommend the restaurant without hesitation.

Nice, cozy, tight facility. The food is very good and the prices are consistently fair. Interesting pasta dishes offered here. Bottle of wine is recommended, as the open wines were not of such good quality that they could be rated higher here. Reservations are recommended during peak times. What bothered me was that the anti-theft chain locks on the table and chairs were still left on during the evening. As a total package, the trattoria is highly recommended.

Really decent cuisine, down-to-earth Italian. Friendly service.

Food was great. No notable defects. Unfortunately, service was a bit behind, the food was there quickly, but then the empty plates were left on the table for a little over half an hour and then cleared away when you asked for the menu for desserts. You felt a bit neglected after the food was brought to you for the first time. Ambience was cozy Italian. Overall good experience, maybe service today wasn't up to par, would come again.

Very delicious Italian pasta and friendly service..

Such a nice place to have a lunch and spend some quality time with your family or friends. We were here on Summer, and btw it was quite cool, but without conditioning — smart windows placing. But most importantly — we really enjoyed our pasta — one with salmon, another with truffles— you should really try it! My brother had stake — it was just and delicious!! Also we were with a small child, and it was never a problem for anyone. Definitely coming back!!

From the reception and greeting to the selection of starters and main courses, the friendly service and the desert, everything was just perfect! Questions about the menu, requests for changes and even the sale of a bottle of the olive oil used, all no problem! All dishes, pizza, pasta, steak, various appetizers and the souffle were delicious! 5 stars top class, the price is absolutely right, would be happy again at any time!

Best Homemade Pasta in Berlin & Potsdam; Service depends on the day, mostly slow and not very careful

The waitress gave the impression that she wasn't interested. When I asked about wine, they just showed me the menu without giving me an answer to my question. The bread had seen better days and was very dry and difficult to chew. The parmesan pasta was tasty, but you didn't feel like preparing the dish at the table like you're used to. Since I didn't give a tip due to the overall situation, the waitress thanked me in an even worse mood. Unfortunately I cannot recommend a visit.

We ate there after a classical concert. Everything worked out wonderfully. Very nice service. Good wine recommendation! That's how it should be. For us, a successful end to a beautiful day in Potsdam. Amazingly good price/performance ratio. We say THANK YOU!

Great menu but poor executed. Really nice and cozy place I actually went here twice motivated by the google reviews (which I later found out everything under 4 stars gets removed by the owner). I can recommend the tomato soup. Also had the lasagna and pasta amatriciana both sadly disappointed as the lasagna was really dry and the pasta had a watery sauce, not really reduced. Also service took over 30 minutes before I could even order a drink on my second visit.

Wir sind 2-3 mal im Jahr hier! Für Sylvester 2024 schon lange vorher gebucht! Dann kamen wir an und wurden in die letzte Ecke verfrachtet. Es zog und war einfach ungemütlich. Auf Anfrage bezüglich eines anderen Platzes, wollte sich die leicht gereizte Bedienung kümmern, tat sie aber nicht. Auf nochmalige Anfrage erhielten wieder dann endgültig lautstark eine Abfuhr. Letztendlich nahm sich die zweite Bedienung unseres Problems an und hat uns total unkompliziert sowie sehr freundlich zufrieden gestellt. Lieben Dank dafür! Das Essen war allerdings, wie immer, sehr gut!

The place was very busy a good sign of good food. I was so blown away by the food that there wasn't much room for improvement. Then the main course came together with the starter which is also not happy. You always had the feeling that you had been forgotten at the small table. Finally, the unfriendly dismissal with they now want to pay in a very brisk tone. Well, a lot could still be improved.

A strange restaurant. Book a table for 1 person online. This seems to be a problem when I arrive, the waitress incredulously asks "only for one person?", gives me a table in the far corner and tells me "but only until 7:30 p.m.". Then they let me sit for 20 minutes and the temporary worker who came then told me that I had waited a maximum of 10 minutes. All that's missing is "Don't act like that." That's how I got to know Potsdam shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall, in a mushy way.

Were there today for a Christmas party. Service underground. 3 men behind the counter. 2 men at the guest. Mistake number 1. When we asked, after 20 minutes we got the card. After another 20 minutes we got the starter, shortly afterwards the first drinks. And so it went on. At the end the evening was over after just 2 hours. Of these, the waiting time totaled 90 minutes. Conclusion. Food Tasteless, watery sauces and poor quality. Basically not recommended at all. Thanks for nothing. Pure disappointment.

We were there before rush hour and were lucky that the starters and our pasta were served very quickly afterwards. Everything was simply delicious and, above all, really sufficient. Pleasant and attentive service.

Very nice authentic trattoria, great atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food and especially the service on the second visit were very disappointing. Before I even got the menu and could order a drink, another guest who came into the restaurant after me was already completely fed.

If you “just” want to eat good pasta, this is the place for you. After two sensational visits, we unfortunately had Pasta Kukidente last time, we consider that a misstep and will definitely come back.

As soon as you walk in, you immediately feel like you're in a well-equipped Italian restaurant. The service was quick and courteous. The three different dishes from the lunch menu left nothing to be desired and were very tasty. A bowl of bread with olive oil was also on the house beforehand, as was the digestive afterwards. We chose this restaurant based on the reviews on Google. We were able to reserve online for the evening on the exact same day, which was easy via the website. We had to wait longer than usual to place the order. What's more, we had to wait 45 minutes for our order. The food itself was good and filled me up. Unfortunately, the restaurant wasn't big, so people sat very close to each other.

Wir riefen an und bestellten einen Tisch für zwei Personen. Bei der Ankunft wusste das Personal nicht wo sie uns platzieren konnten, da nichts frei war. Wir bekamen dann doch einen Tisch neben der Toilette und wurden auf eigenen Wunsch noch mal umplaziert. Wir bestellten Safran Risotto mit Lachs und Tagliatelle mit Spinat und Lachs. Risotto war aus Barboild Reis fertig gegart, ohne Safran mit Tomatenvierteln grünen Parika. Also keine Risotto. Die Tagliatelle hatte verbrannten Knoblauch, welche das Essen dominierte und leider kaum Spinat. Der Lachs war in beiden Fällen nicht gewürzt. Es ist sehr schade, das die Italienische Küche so verunglimpft wird. Wir denken das dieses Restaurant auch nicht von Italienern geführt wird. Wir werden dort nicht mehr essen gehen. Wieder eine Enttäuschung durch die Potsdamer Gastronomie.

Leider kann ich hier nicht viel gutes berichten. Wir hatten Pasta Arrabiata ( die war in Ordnung, aber nicht herraussragend) und dann von der 'Tafel' ein Gericht mit Pfifferlingen, Huhn und Tagliatelle. Letzere Schwammein in einer Bullion von der auf der Karte keinerlei die Rede war und was mit Italienischem Essen nach unserer Auffassung nichts zu tun hat. Im Vergleich dazu das Foto hier bei Tripadvisor, so wie das Gericht wohl 2015 mal ausgesehen hat (und aussehen haette sollen) Als wir die Kellnerin drauf ansprachen bekamen wir ein sehr defensives 'Das machen wir immer so', 'das gehoert so' und 'bei 50 Kunden hat sich nie jemand beschwert'. Glaube ich einfach nicht, niemand erwartet bei einem italenischem Nudelgericht eine Nudel-Suppe aufgetischt zu bekommen. Dass man im Essenraum den Kloakengestank des Strassen-gulli's durch die offene Hintertuer gerochen hat, hat dem ganzen dann noch die Kroenung aufgesetzt. Und eigentlich gehoert der Parmesan auf den Tisch, nicht schon vorgestreut auf den Nudeln, aber das nur so am Rande. Sonst muss man allerdings sagen dass die Bedienung sehr freundlich und bemueht war. An den arrabiata hat man auch gemerkt dass die Kueche durchaus potential haette... es wird nur nicht genutzt.

I absolutely loved the Trattoria Pane e Vino! The location right in the town center is perfect and gives the restaurant a charming atmosphere. The service was incredibly attentive and friendly, I felt completely at home. The starters were not only delicious, but also more than sufficient. I was particularly impressed by the main course: pasta with black truffle, which was served straight from the cheese body - an absolute delight! Even though the sidewalk runs through the restaurant, it didn't really bother me. If you appreciate good food and excellent service, this is the place for you. I will definitely come back!

Very tasty food and nice service, who even called back to make the reservation - that was great service! The shop is nicely decorated and it's pleasant to sit outside behind laurel-like bushes that block the view of the street. The only small disadvantage: the train runs directly past quite often, which is something you should keep in mind. Overall, a highly recommended location.

The food is tasty but nothing special. Unfortunately the bread was a bit dry, as if it had been lying around for a long time. This also ran through the bruschetta. All in all, still tasty. The street in which the restaurant is located is quiet and there are cars and many trams every now and then. That's really great. Here you can pay by card. According to the description only with EC card. Debit credit cards are not mentioned. You should come by public transport. There are few parking spaces and the ones that are there are expensive.

The best (so far) pasta in Potsdam. Homemade, delicious. Super friendly with changes in a dish, I asked for vegetarian carbonara, 😋 with Broccoli instead of meat. super creamy.

Everything great It doesn't get any better

The food is delicious, they know how to work well with local ingredients in an Italian style. If you are hungry, consider ordering a starter if you choose the pasta. The downside is that they only accept EC card or German debit card, it lacks a bit of modernity. The price is not that cheap so they don’t have a machine that accepts all cards. Google maps said the restaurant closed at 11:45pm, we arrived at 9:15pm and were pressured to order right away, without giving us much time to think. In addition, they didn't let us order dessert. We also missed having a menu in English. We need to return at a less busy time to see if the service is better.

We always enjoy coming here. Price-performance is great. But what we always notice is that you have to wait a long time to order drinks. Authentic Italian restaurant. We chose homemade ravioli filled with porcini mushrooms and pasta all rabiata. Both very tasty, in our opinion the pasta could be even more “al dente”. But the German guest probably doesn't like that. The service was friendly. Cleanliness, yes. Unfortunately we could only sit inside. But it was very warm there. Still recommendation.

Good food, but with a truly terrible service..., a waitress that is borderline, arrogant and out of place to work in front of the public and in a tourist place. We asked for a bottle of water and they gave us a glass of tap water for which they charged us €3 or so. To top it off, when we went to pay for lunch he told us that they do not accept Visa/Mastercard, only German cards, we asked him for an ATM to withdraw money and he bluntly told us to look it up on Google. Honestly, a bad experience not to be repeated!!

Unfortunately, the appetizer plate is inadequate for the price quoted, with a lot of salad there is a lot of savings on sausage and cheese - although the taste and quality is very good. When we ordered the starter, we were apparently forgotten in the kitchen and we only got the main course when we asked, which happened very quickly. On the whole we were very satisfied, but the little things make the picture not so nice as a guest.

Unfortunately only 3 stars. Spaghetti Aglio Olio sunk in already quite bitter olive oil. The garlic burnt. The taste hung throughout the entire meal. The service is slow and so is the kitchen. The fennel salad was too big and not a good combination. 15 minutes until the waitress came. By that time I would have had a cola in the heat. 17 minutes for the starters and then another 45 minutes for the main course. And that with only a few occupied tables on the terrace. There are 3 cooks in the kitchen. This is a poor performance. I didn't complain about the dish so I wouldn't have to wait another 45 minutes. Simply serving a 0.4L drink without asking the customer is audacious. Cola comes in 0.2 and 0.4. If in doubt, you should ask the customer. I measured the times because it was immediately clear to me that it would take longer here. No seat cushions on the terrace. However, all chairs in the restaurant have cushions for this. I wouldn't subject my guests to these hard wooden plank chairs without cushions. 10 minutes of extra work and the customer feels more comfortable.

A really good trattoria a bit away from the tourist hot spot. Honest good Italian food with no frills. Very good pasta variations.

Food is super delicious! This restaurant could become my “go to restaurant”. The ambience inside is really nice, as you would imagine a trattoria. You sit outside on the street/sidewalk; There are more bikes, buses and trams on the road than cars. The service was a bit slow, but very, very nice and the lady was solely responsible for the entire restaurant.
