Toni Alm in Grainau

We ended the late afternoon and evening on the terrace at the Toni Alm. The ambience is a mixture of alpine gastronomy with a Mediterranean touch. Super nice service, varied and slightly different decorations on the tables and also cool glasses and dishes than you would otherwise expect. The good food really makes it a great place! Good weather and the view do the rest.

The only positive thing about our visit was the really nice location – stylishly furnished and well located. Unfortunately, that's where it ends. I absolutely cannot agree with the many positive reviews - our experience was the complete opposite. The price-performance ratio is an absolute disaster. The portions were tiny, the food only came to the table lukewarm, and the taste was anything but convincing. For what you get, the prices are simply outrageous. In addition, the service was unfriendly and showed neither a smile nor a minimum of attention. Not once were we asked if everything was okay or if we were satisfied. The absolute height of audacity: There is a sign at the exit that points out that in Germany it is “usual” to tip 5-10%. This seems like a last attempt to somehow get money despite poor performance - just brazen and completely inappropriate. Conclusion: Nice location, but the rest? Pure rip-off. Once and never again.

The ambience of this inn is very nice, but it is also the only thing you can recommend here. As soon as we arrived there was a rush in the service and a restlessness and a bad atmosphere, so that you couldn't enjoy the view. The food was cold, tasteless and a disgrace for the price. Schnitzel with asparagus - daily recommendation and you can't even manage that. The asparagus was ice cold, the schnitzel was tiny. Statement from the boss - the schnitzels are now smaller because the prices are higher in the city and the portions are smaller. Previously we were in the middle of Garmisch and the portions were large and the service was great. Absolutely not recommended.

Probably the best restaurant I have eaten in in Germany. The bill has not reached €100 for 4 people. The owner is very friendly. Totally recommended

Great ambience, we sat in the winter garden, which was very cozy and stylishly furnished, with a view over a wide meadow towards the mountains - so idyllic and had very lovely, courteous service, we were welcomed very nicely...our dog too 🥰. The food tasted delicious, the selection on the menu was great, the decision wasn't easy 😊

Bombastic location and view. Delicious suckling pig eaten after skiing. The homemade iced tea was also very tasty. Sitting outside a little way down had to wait 20 minutes for the tickets. When I changed the order from coleslaw to potato salad, both came and the potato dumplings were left out instead. My colleague had ordered a soup as a starter, which unfortunately didn't come. But it wasn't listed on the invoice.

My girlfriend and I celebrated my 30th birthday at Toni Alm today. We actually came across the restaurant through the good Google reviews. The ambience is really very thoughtfully designed and a lot of attention was paid to detail. The menu actually offers something for every taste. The prices are fair. But the highlight of the visit was the employees. Anyone who works with so much fun and passion also puts the customer in a good mood. Keep it up!

This restaurant is super nice, especially the view of the Zugspitze, the waiting time for food is a little longer but the food is super cheap. I can recommend the currywurst, it's cheap and super big and the staff are super nice, especially with children

Unfortunately not satisfied. We've been there several times, but it's getting worse and worse. Although we didn't have to pay for the dish, we only gave raw meat back twice and then it didn't come out of the kitchen at all.

Not recommended at all. Alsatian style tarte flambée with very stinky, spicy cheese, completely inappropriate, greasy... It wasn't on the menu. Ordered 0.5l beer for €4.60, got a 0.33l and it cost €4.80, outrageous!! Staff unfriendly, when we said at reception that we didn't have a reservation, the waitress just rolled her eyes... that's not possible!!!!!!

We had dinner there yesterday at the end of our vacation. When we came in we were warmly welcomed and the atmosphere was extremely warm, as if we were in a cozy hut. The food (venison goulash and Kaiserschmarrn) was very tasty and there was also a good portion, even the small portion of Kaiserschmarrn was the perfect size. The service was very friendly and also attentive, we will definitely come back and it is definitely worth a visit.

This cozy, authentic Bavarian restaurant is located near the Garmisch Olympic ski jump. Food is delicious and service is friendly and efficient. They are able to serve larger groups, whether inside or out.

Wow! What a disappointment. Sat at a table and waited for 30 minutes which did not attract the attention of anyone. A waitress was serving two tables over and saw us but she continued to ignore us. Ce la vie. Would advise just driving 20km to Ehrwald in Tirol where the service almost anywhere is better!

The ambient is really very nice. But the food was really low quality. The Montanara grill vegetable was bot really cooked. The „duck legs“ (the actually pricelist on web isn‘t the same as in the place) were dry and chewy and we had one like fish soup what hasn‘t anything to do with fish or soup. Pitty, because the place and the personal are really nice.

Very large, diverse and delicious menu. Always tasty and sometimes very large portions. Of course you can take the leftovers with you. Friendly service and a very cozy alpine atmosphere inside and a beautiful winter garden with rustic tables, candles, fire pits and seat covers. Open or closed depending on the weather. You can enjoy wonderful evening atmospheres here. The crowning glory is the in-house cat, which always has an eye on everything from above. We feel very comfortable there and enjoy coming back again and again, especially since the service is good again and you no longer have to wait forever for your food. Keep it up😃

It used to be my favorite restaurant in Garmisch, and I always recommended it to everyone. Yesterday, we took our foreign friends there, and unfortunately, everyone experienced stomach pain after eating the same salad with cheese. The salad itself was tasteless. The quality of the food has declined, and I won’t be going there again or recommending this place to anyone anymore.

Went here twice, the menu offers a wide selection, the dishes come quickly, are well prepared and taste great. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back. In addition, a beautiful ambience and attentive and charming service. Great :)

Toni Alm is a gem of a place. My toddlers and I ate here for lunch. It was off season so we got a seat outside with no wait. I ate one of the best salads I’ve had in Bavaria, and I was envious of the burger brought to the table next to us. Between its physical atmosphere, tucked under the Alpspitze, and its warm, kid-friendly, lodge feel, Toni Alm does not disappoint!

We were only there for a beer, but the service was super friendly and accommodating.

Schnitzel only tastes like old fat and is tough.

Instead of fried potatoes, baked potatoes are served, Schnitzel breading is larger than the actual schnitzel. Not worth €30. Schnitzel tastes like old fat. Definitely not recommended.

The food was excellent, the waitress was very nice, the atmosphere was so cozy that you felt at home. It's just a little too warm. You could perhaps add a little less salad to Brim Tiroler Tris.

We had dinner there on Sunday. The atmosphere is great, sitting outside on the terrace is really great. Inside wasn't really our thing because the house cat runs around freely in the restaurant. I find it rather inappropriate for a restaurant. About the food: We had 3 dishes. The duck breast was really good. The Wiener Schnitzel was nothing at all - completely overdone and not satisfactory in terms of size for a good €32. Maybe we were just unlucky, but for the price I just expect more. For dessert there was a Kaiserschmarrn, which was unfortunately completely soaked in Amaretto (?), so that the pieces were really heavy and the whole Schmarrn was completely dark. Not good at all, not our taste at all. So in the end we ate much better at many other restaurants for €90. Update: Due to the comment from I deduct another star from the owner: You should accept objectively expressed criticism and respond in a more customer-friendly manner. The comparison with the permitted dogs is extremely flawed because they lie on a leash at/under the table with their owners and do NOT run like cats through the entire dining room and lie on window sills or run over benches. Personally (everyone has their own opinion on this) I find this disgusting in a restaurant. And about your “organic quality”: Here too there is good and bad. We then probably caught the second one and unfortunately didn't notice it at all, it really wasn't good at all in contrast to the duck breast.

The restaurant has a great ambience and the food is expensive but incredibly tasty. Unfortunately, when I asked whether the food was gluten-free (I have a severe intolerance), the older waitress almost smugly assured me that it was of course gluten-free. It was only when I asked another very nice and helpful waiter that it came out that it was of course not gluten-free. An alternative was brought to me, but I still ate something. You should actually be able to rely on the waitress's statement. It wouldn't be a shame to ask the kitchen again if you're not sure, but please don't do that! So everyone with intolerances should be careful!

We were on holiday in Garmisch this week and went to Tonis Alm twice because we liked it so much. The service is great. As soon as you sit at the table, a bread basket with delicious dips arrives to satisfy your first hunger pangs. And our dogs were immediately provided with fresh water 😊 The staff is very attentive without being intrusive, and special requests are easily addressed. The food selection is great, there is something for everyone. The price-performance ratio is right. We didn't have to wait long for the food and it tasted fantastic. This restaurant is one of the best we have ever eaten at. Many thanks to the entire team for these two wonderful evenings. We would love to come back 😊👍👍👍

We went there for dinner for the second time this year. The quality of the food was, again, great, the service was great, very attentive staff. The sanitary facilities were very clean.

Our tour had a BEAUTIFUL experience at this gorgeous spot. The food, service and view of the Zugspietze was phenomenal. I would HIGHLY recommend this place for a nice, quiet lunch at a rustic spot.

Our visit to the Toni Alm was excellent. While many in the region only pay for the view, here the price/performance ratio is right and, above all, it tastes fresh and delicious and not like instant sauce. Location top & cozy, service quick, courteous and friendly. We'll be back!

A very well-kept, modern restaurant! We ate the knuckle and cheese spaetzle. The cheese spaetzle were very tasty, spicy and handmade. There was also a decent salad plate. The knuckle was super crispy, very tender and really juicy! The sauce tasted like grandma's! 5 stars, I can't say more!

The Alm has a really nice atmosphere, very nicely decorated and not too rustic. We were there in the afternoon on a rainy day and there was nothing going on except for two other guests. Even when it's busy, it's not cramped because the tables aren't close together. It has a very large indoor area, but also a beautiful outdoor terrace with a view of the mountains. The portions are a good size, you'll definitely be full. The Kaiserschmarrn there is also a 10/10. Absolutely recommended!

Sign out in front said there was a private event -- at least have the curtesy to inform your guests if you must cancel a reservation. --In response to the owner, our reservation was for a Tuesday night
