Toni Alm in Grainau

We spent two weeks in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and ate out quite often, but we'd never had such delicious food before (roast goose leg, suckling pig). The ambiance is particularly lovely, with great attention to detail. Our dog was warmly greeted by the staff. The lady with chin-length blonde hair was especially striking. We will definitely be back.

Hello, yesterday we went to the “Toni-Alm” for lunch with friends who live in Garmisch-Patenkirchen. We've been eating out in the region all week - but yesterday at the Toni-Alm we definitely had the most delicious meal in Garmisch. As we walked from the parking lot to the entrance we noticed a very delicious smell. Next to the winter garden they were grilling a fantastic looking suckling pig. We received a very friendly welcome in the restaurant and were given a wonderful table. The whole restaurant has beautiful interiors and is very tastefully furnished and decorated. The winter garden is also stunning with a fantastic view. And the food is fantastic. I had the most delicious “Allgäuer Kässpätzle” of my life. Elke had a “world-class” venison goulash, which can also be served with spaghetti or spaetzle on request, and Peter had the best pork knuckle in the region. Super tasty, crispy skin with delicious, juicy meat in a fantastic sauce. And the service was also very attentive, friendly, and personable—what more could you ask for? We felt so comfortable here and will definitely come back and try other dishes. Best regards, Frank Koop

The service and friendliness leave a lot to be desired!!! We were at Toni's Alm in Garmisch-Partenkirchen at 3:00 PM in mid-October and simply wanted a drink. Unfortunately, the visit was very disappointing!! Although the restaurant was very quiet, we were seated in the far corner. The waitress walked past us several times without even looking at us – instead, they preferred to decorate the tables. Only after 25 minutes did the waitress approach us, in a distinctly bad mood, and ask what we wanted to drink. This ignorance and unfriendliness is truly disappointing – just because we didn't want anything to eat, we were apparently not taken seriously! In this regard, unfortunately, not recommended. Friendliness and attentiveness should also apply to guests who "just want a drink."

We visited Toni's Hütte today. Overall, a great place. My wife's tarte flambée was really delicious and well prepared. My suckling pig, on the other hand, was only "okay" overall. Positive highlights include the separately served crust – nice and crispy –, the dumplings, the sauce, and the coleslaw. All very tasty and well-balanced. Unfortunately, the suckling pig itself wasn't convincing: It was only lukewarm and didn't seem fresh. It had certainly been grilled over charcoal some time ago. This spoiled the overall impression. The service wasn't particularly interested. The question about the food seemed more routine than serious. My honest answer, "overall, okay," was not followed by any further questions – a shame, because a more open ear would have been appreciated.

The Toni Alm is worth every penny for a visit. It has a truly lovely ambiance and delicious cuisine. We come once a year and enjoy the whole package every time. Take a look at the pictures and see for yourself. The service is also exceptionally friendly and entertaining.

We ate there for the first time today. (Please make a reservation!) We arrived as a couple with our dog and received a very warm welcome. We were assigned a beautiful spot in the heated and incredibly lovingly decorated winter garden. The view was absolutely stunning. We were served by the restaurant manager, who more than knows his craft. :-) All we can say about the food is: Top-notch!!!! Our dog was also immediately provided with water, which isn't a given these days. We felt more than comfortable there and will definitely be back. Thank you for this wonderful evening! We wish the entire team all the best :-).

Might be extremely racist towards Asian. Cuz we’ve been told that the restaurant is full but clearly it is not. The lady yelled at my father in law who is German but Asian. Extremely rude behavior! They told us we won’t be able to find any restaurant in this city, but we called and did it on the first try! So…

We went to eat at the Toni Alm last week during our vacation. The reason was the good reviews here – unfortunately, we can't understand them at all! I had a "homemade iced tea." The name is a complete mockery, because it's just cold water with ice cubes and some kind of syrup that was still very visible and had to be stirred in. It has nothing to do with homemade, and nothing to do with iced tea either! One of the dishes was the grill plate. The specially designated barbecue sauce is served in a bottle and is simply a supermarket product. I've never experienced anything like it. The plate is not appetizing in any way. There's just a sausage, two pieces of meat, and fries on the plate. Any chip shop can do better! Another dish was the roasted potatoes. The dumplings were far too salty, the sauce too sweet. Only enjoyable together. We don't recommend them! Addendum: Beware, they're trying to get bad reviews deleted! It's an absolute disgrace. They're attempting to delete them under the pretext that they can't verify the visit. Which restaurant can verify all visits? Luckily, I still have the receipt. Let's see if anything else comes along. Bad impression confirmed!! Further addendum, October 2025: Toni Alm is trying again to have the review deleted. After three years—that's absolutely ridiculous! In my opinion, it speaks very badly against this restaurant that they can't accept a negative review.

We were very lucky to get a seat without a reservation – but we'll definitely make a reservation next time! That just goes to show how popular this place is. What particularly impressed us was the exceptional child-friendliness. The highchair was brought out immediately, and the staff proactively coordinated with us when our child's meal should be served. This is a service you don't find everywhere and makes the visit very relaxing for families. And most importantly: The food was delicious! An all-around positive experience. We'd love to come back!

Grilled platter is a definite must-have. Cabbage salad from a can. Quark tip: also not homemade. Just tasted bland. 👎 Instead of bratwurst, there was Käsekrainer. Viennese veal schnitzel, no luck. Two small schnitzels fried together in the deep fryer. Potato salad, also from a can or one.

Beautiful view, amazing service, and delicious food! I shared the tomahawk steak with a friend and I think it was the best steak I have ever had. The grilled vegetables were cooked to perfection and so flavorful. The waiter even gave a sample of the venison goulash to our table to try. We will definitely be back

We complained about substandard tartar and were thrown out by the owner. We were told the beef was red, but he brought us meat and said it was loin. It had turned pink, like in the photo. It looked like minced meat. Unfortunately, he took it very personally that we found his meat substandard. The iced tea was quite good.

The Toni Alm is simply a dream! We felt completely at home here – and best of all: our dogs were warmly welcomed too. You rarely experience such dog-friendly hospitality. The staff is incredibly warm, attentive, and always there with a smile – you immediately notice that hospitality is truly lived here. The value for money is also absolutely spot on: great quality, generous portions, and not exorbitantly expensive – fair and honest. Add to that the cozy, rustic atmosphere with a stunning view of the mountains.

The seating is incredibly comfortable, and you can even lounge in the sun on lounge chairs. And, especially in the afternoon, you have a wonderful view of the meadows and mountains. The staff is incredibly friendly, accommodating, and even jokes around. Unfortunately, the food wasn't quite to our taste. That was quite disappointing, as everything else was just perfect. It was tasty, but none of our group would go back for the food. But we'd be happy to go back for a few tasty, cool drinks.

We just wanted a cappuccino. The waitress barely understood us, and the cappuccino cost €6.20!!!!!!!

We actually only wanted to have dinner at the Toni Alm on our wedding day, but the team transformed our evening into a celebration of sophisticated hospitality with the excellent quality of the food, super-friendly service, and uncomplicated HighT, and other things like the fantastic view in a fitting ambiance made it an unforgettable event. We celebrated our wedding at the ToniAlm on August 22nd and are absolutely thrilled! 🎉 From the very beginning, everything was absolutely hassle-free and the prices were fair – no hidden "wedding surcharges" like we've experienced at other locations in Garmisch. The ToniAlm was perfect for our almost 90 guests: cozy, but with enough space to celebrate in the winter garden. The decor, in collaboration with a florist from Garmisch, was beautiful and received many compliments from our guests. A special highlight was the food: everything was fantastic, but the appetizer platter truly blew everyone away. We changed it again two days before the wedding in consultation with Markus and Saskia and were surprised ourselves: What the two conjured up was simply amazing; it couldn't have been better! A huge thank you also goes to Mo and his team. He was there that evening and did an outstanding job! All the guests were extremely happy and had a blast – the entire team was fantastic! We especially loved the perfect combination of the cozy hut feeling inside while eating and the cool party atmosphere outside in the winter garden with DJ Vossi. It couldn't have been better! Many thanks to the entire ToniAlm team for this unforgettable day – we're already looking forward to the next party at the Toni Alm! ❤️

The Toni Alm in Garmisch is simply a dream! Super friendly and welcoming team, a fantastic restaurant with a perfect setting, practically a highlight with a view. The food was really good, and everything was perfect from start to finish. A very special compliment goes to our waiter, Nemo ☺️. He was incredibly kind, attentive, and made the visit truly special. We would gladly give him a 6th star just for him! We would love to come back and highly recommend the Toni Alm.

Such a beautiful restaurant, with views all around - whether it be cable cars, the train or the mountain. We ordered the standard/large Kaiserschmarrn - whilst the pancake itself was rather bland (personally I prefer a more eggy pancake flavour), the compote was lovely and the pancake served as a nice medium for it. Would recommend for a nice dining experience.

We were here last year. The food and atmosphere were great again. However, the waiter was very tiring. He was loudly gossiping about the guests at his previous job at the next table. He started here because, in his observation, the tips were high. He doesn't fit in at the Toni Alm. It's a shame.

The restaurant is in an amazing location looking over to Zugspitze, top of Germany. The mushroom soup and gulash were delicious. Käsespätzle was amazing, it is definitely a must to try.

We went to the Toni-Alm unannounced during the evening rush hour. It was a big celebration that evening, but we still managed to get a seat and were made to feel very welcome. We were explicitly warned that ordering might take a little longer, but this was handled brilliantly. Furthermore, the owners don't lose their sense of humor in stressful times, and this calmness rounded off the whole experience nicely, making us feel very comfortable. Due to the hustle and bustle of the evening, the staff apologized several times, which wasn't necessary given our unannounced arrival. We also extend our thanks. The food was, of course, also very, very good, making the Toni-Alm exactly the kind of place you'll feel in good hands with. Keep up the good work and see you next time :)

We had such an amazing experience at Toni Alm today! The service was fantastic. The staff were super friendly, spoke English and made us feel welcome. Our food arrived quickly, and everything was absolutely delicious. We both ordered the Wiener Schnitzel, one with fries and one with Kartoffelsalat, and both were excellent. Each came with a side salad, and we enjoyed an Almdudler to drink which was so refreshing. For dessert, we had both the Apfelstrudel and the Kaiserschmarrn, and they were heavenly. The whole meal was paired with stunning scenery with cable cars, trains passing by, endless green fields, and an incredible mountain view. The price was fair, especially for such a beautiful meal in such a breathtaking location. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Eibsee and feeling peckish after exploring!

The food, the view, and the atmosphere are without question absolutely recommendable. Unfortunately, the service took some getting used to, bordering on unfriendly. We were assigned a table of our choice and then kicked out after an hour and a half with the words, "The table is reserved." What a shame. The service ruined the experience. Addendum to the owner's comment: It's the tone that counts! In the end, it's all about communication, and if we had been informed of the restrictions at the beginning, we wouldn't feel so thrown out.

We tried 6 dishes at this place. Everything was great. The view is very nice, there is a fireplace which makes place very cosy. People were very nice. 100% recommend to visit. Good for lunch and dinner.

On our last evening in Grainau, six of us went to Toni Alm for dinner. Overall, we weren't satisfied, neither with the food ("Toni Alm Gröstl" certainly not) nor with the service. We don't understand where the good reviews come from. However, since the view is beautiful and parking is easy, a 2-star rating is appropriate.

We were in the conservatory; the tables were beautifully set, the view was lovely, but the seating was a bit cramped. The menu was very extensive. The food arrived relatively quickly and was presented in a harmonious and appealing manner. The portions were okay (a little more wouldn't have been bad)... The value for money was spot on.

Small, out of the way restaurant in Garmisch. The food was amazing! I had the Filet vom Saibling which was so delicious! Also ordered at our table was the pork knuckle, and Venison Goulosh. All was scrumptious and highly recommend and kid/allergen friendly too!

We celebrated our wedding there this weekend with around 100 guests, and we were thrilled with the organization, the staff, and the food. The buffet more than exceeded our expectations. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect. We would definitely celebrate our wedding there again. A big thank you again to Markus and his team from us and our guests.

Not highly recommended. Poor service and the food was tasteless and not worth the price. How am I supposed to order my food when the waiter snatches the menu from under my nose? The iced tea was also juice with a lot of water. Simply disappointing... If possible, I would give it 0.5 stars.

I can only warmly recommend everyone to come here! The venison cordon bleu was truly divine! The homemade fries were absolutely amazing! The cheese spaetzle were also perfect! The service was absolutely top-notch, and the stunning view and generous portions were perfect!

Service is great! Very friendly and attentive despite the crowds. The food is so-so. A large portion of fries, the burger with the farm's own suckling pig... completely drowned in barbecue sauce. It's a shame, especially since the quality of the meat is so good, so I would focus on that. Unfortunately, the Trieste trifle was very limited.

We've been vacationing in Garmisch for the past four years. Toni's Alm has always been one of our favorite stops. The staff has always been friendly, and the food lives up to the positive reviews described by other guests. We wholeheartedly agree. For us, with its beautiful view of the Zugspitze, it will always be an absolute place to be! You have to let yourself be pampered here. We'll be happy to come back. Greetings from the Ruhr Valley.

We were there with the whole family on Thursday. We were served very kindly by the nice young Turkish man. Kudos to you for your patience, your good humor, your strong nerves, and the pine schnapps 👌🏼 Thanks for the amazing service despite the dropped glass and bread basket. Stay away from my dad ☝🏼😅 Otherwise, huge praise to the kitchen! We were all thoroughly impressed with the food! The ambiance was fantastic, beautiful, and tastefully decorated! And the walk to the restroom was like a short hike through the mountains with the lovingly designed stones on the stairs. The only "negative": When a salad costs as much as a pork knuckle... They should perhaps reconsider the price or the quantity of the saltea. But we would love to come back! Thank you so much for a wonderful evening!

We spontaneously arrived with our baby, and were immediately offered a highchair. The service was otherwise very attentive and friendly! The menu is very varied, making it difficult to choose. The dishes we chose (pulled pork burger and creamed mushrooms) were truly excellent, and the portions were more than generous. We wanted to go back again, but unfortunately, it was a private party.

Absolutely recommended. We ended up there by chance, and I would go back anytime. Even without a reservation, we were immediately assigned a good table that suited our dog. Very lovingly and harmoniously designed with great attention to detail. The mountain backdrop is magnificent. The homemade iced tea is incredibly delicious and refreshing. I had the Bavarian grill platter, and what can I say... each ingredient was better than the last!!! My husband had mushrooms (with bread dumplings) – I've rarely had such a tasty and successful serving. Tiramisu for dessert – divine!

We're currently sitting on the terrace with our dog; the staff is super friendly and attentive. A water bowl for our furry friend arrived promptly along with the menu. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. We can only recommend this place to everyone. We'll definitely stop by here again for food and drinks during our vacation. We had a wonderful end to our vacation at the Toni Alm. The food came quickly and was delicious. The homemade iced tea is highly recommended. The service was always super friendly and welcoming. The dogs were immediately brought a bowl of water without being asked. We sat in the shade under the bushes in the beer garden. Highly recommended.

Toni Alm Enjoyment is a top priority here. Before the meal, you're served a basket of asparagus and a variety of homemade spreads. We had one of the last cream of asparagus soups of the season. There's no better one in the region, if not more. The surprise alone when you lift the lid is a feast for the eyes. This authentic cream soup was garnished with a few herbs and sliced ​​croutons. But that's not all. The first spoonful is a delight. The second will make your eyes water with this explosion of flavor. There's so much attention to detail in both the food and the restaurant. The main course was cheese spaetzle. There's only one thing to say about it: yum. The portions are large and definitely worth the price. The restaurant shines with a rustic yet clean style, with loving details. 5 stars plus!

Everything was perfect (I rarely write that), very nice, fast, and friendly service. High-quality food in decent portion sizes. There are also some quite unusual creations, like venison cordon bleu with Obatzte (completely new but delicious). Prices are typical for the area and absolutely reasonable. Beer and shandy are a bit pricey, but that's no reason not to enjoy the rest to the fullest!

The service is first-class, attentive, and friendly. The cuisine is outstanding – I would particularly like to highlight the Grande Pasta Toni (a poem!) and the Kaiserschmarren, which is second to none. The quality of the food is excellent – ​​everything is just right here. Anyone who appreciates good food and a great atmosphere must come here. Highly recommended!

We had an AMAZING meal with our traveling companions at Toni Alm in the Garmisch, DE area. Cute little neighborhood restaurant with an authentic Bavarian flare! It was nice outside, but they had some small fire going for ambiance! Service was crisp for charge group, and the food and beverage operation was on point. It was a treat for the group because we were able to order from the menu, as opposed to a to a preset menu. We had the mushroom soup, the also shared the pan seared veal liver and the pizza with bacon. All were TERRIFIC. In fact, we heard nothing but praise for everything on the menu ordered that night! Awesome place, great food, impeccable service, in the heart of Bavaria! Highly recommend!

Service: Positive: Friendly, seated quickly. Contrary: A side dish was forgotten. We would have liked to order more, but after the main course, the waiter didn't come to our table. We weren't willing to wait any longer, so we paid up front and left.

I went there today around lunchtime to reserve a table for two people with my dog. The very nice manager promised me that, and what did we get in the evening? A table in the middle of the restaurant, where the waiters and customers were jumping around like they were at a train station. Unfortunately, the manager wasn't there! The food was, well, okay! Lovely for lunch, but uncomfortable in the evening (terribly loud)!

Highly recommended! Super delicious food, great and fast service, very dog-friendly, and great value for money!
