Very friendly staff and the food is excellent

My favorite restaurant in Grainau (and Garmisch), I eat here regularly. All the employees are extremely friendly and the food is always delicious. Also beautifully and stylishly decorated.

It feels like everything in Garmisch and the surrounding area is around 5 euros more expensive. The Viennese style schnitzel costs a nice 19.90 euros. The question arises, what can you expect? Large schnitzel, meat was good and without flax. The breading was the typical ready-made breading. The fries are very thin and probably from a discount store. Fried potatoes were ok, but not crispy. Yes, I was full and I didn't have to vomit straight away. But... 19.90 euros for a pork schnitzel, which I can actually get for half in a Bavarian chip shop. Nope, that doesn't have to be the case. Restaurant, small but very nice. Service also good... and then that happens... House music in the background? And when we came in, someone from the kitchen looked at me again and then looked away again. Price performance is not ok here. Room for improvement, but plenty!

The food was excellent, the staff were very friendly and accommodating and the ambience managed to present the classic inn in a modern way.

Das Essen hier ist eine Katastrophe. Alles wird in der friteuse gemacht ( schnitzel, angebliche pfannkuchen) oder wurde als fertigessen gekauft ( schweinebraten). Teuer (schweinebraten für 19.90€,) und nicht gut!!!

Staff very friendly. The food is freshly prepared and very tasty. When the weather is good you can sit outside. However, everything inside is newly renovated and very pleasant.

As an individual you are almost ignored! 20 minutes until you are served.

We passed here from King's Lake to Swan Castle and the road was blocked. The dinner is very authentic and the environment is good. Please note that only cash is accepted! ! !

A cozy and rustic restaurant with Bavarian charm. Even though we didn't have a reservation, they made every effort to get us a nice seat. The food was extremely good. I had the best knuckle I've ever eaten here. The only negative point was that the portions were almost too big. So it's best not to take a starter 😅

Great food, great service, great ambience! Sat in the next room, the food portions were very generous, the taste was very good. Waiting time a bit long but not enough staff and therefore forgivable. This restaurant invites you to eat, you are warmly shown to your seat, the seating is very comfortable because it is covered with fur! It is served quickly, the staff is very friendly and attentive…. The food is delicious and if you didn't have a family you would stay put! Thank you

We were pleasantly surprised because we had previously read very mixed reviews. The food was delicious and I had the impression that it was freshly prepared. I have to deduct a star for the ambience because I just don't think the sheepskins (whether real or fake) are great. Price performance is quite reasonable

The price-performance ratio is reasonable.

The service is very friendly. To be honest, I wouldn't order the Käsespätzle (ready-made dumplings + cheese cream sauce + fried onions) again. But the salad was good. The Gröstl is also more like frozen fried potatoes with bacon and egg. You can eat but not more than that.

We were immediately greeted warmly and, even though we hadn't made a reservation, we were given a place for two straight away. We waited a maximum of 15 minutes for the food, schnitzel with fries and soup, and it tasted great. Both waitresses were very nice and attentive. Happy to come back 😊

We were in Grainau for 7 days and ate in the village fountain twice for lunch and five times for dinner. Totally nice service, good food and a great price-performance ratio. The waitresses are friendly and incredibly hardworking. All the dishes we ate were great. Even after the bar closed we still got something to drink. Special requests, even when it comes to food, are no problem. We can recommend this location 100 percent.

Is super central and very fast service

A real Tyrolean tent where you no longer know whether you are in Germany or Austria. It's not all very culinary, but it is very tasty and a lot of it. This is good if you are hungry after a long car journey or a brisk mountain walk. If you are looking for the Tyrolean atmosphere, then you have come to the right place!

Very nice restaurant with Bavarian charm. You should definitely book a table in advance, otherwise it can be difficult to get a seat as it is always busy. Portions are huge and very tasty!! Schnitzel is really good. You can also order a children's meal as an adult, which we might try next time. Dogs are allowed 🐕🐶 Card payment is not possible, but this was pointed out when making the reservation.

We expected little and were pleasantly surprised. Overall, better than many others in Grainau. Food was plentiful and really tasty. Prices are reasonable.

Waited 45 minutes for my schnitzel and 30 minutes for my water. That was quite ok. When paying you will be informed that card payment is not possible. According to the law, this must be clearly and conspicuously signposted. In addition, there were wasps everywhere and you couldn't drink or eat anything without a wasp disturbing you. There were 2 waitresses for 100 people, both of whom knew almost no German

I know I'm in the Zugspitz Arena, but I find the prices too expensive compared to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The food was okay, but nothing more!!

Bad service, they barely understood us and even took the order incorrectly. As an Austrian, I wanted to explain to myself what a Wiener Schnitzel is. :) Food was ok.

Hello, I work in the catering industry myself and am normally really empathetic when it comes to stress or other things, but I haven't experienced such bad service in a long time. We brought the wrong food, then started arguing and trying to explain to us (Austrians) what a Wiener schnitzel was, even though a chicken schnitzel was ordered. We also had to swap meals with each other instead of being offered an alternative. Raspberry soda is also unknown to the waiters. Waiting time to order and pay is also far too long. So long that we had to go to the cash register ourselves.

Great Bavarian atmosphere inside! We decided to go inside because the wasps didn't allow us to eat outside! But we sat very comfortably inside, were served very nicely and had a great meal! Any time !

Unfortunately, this Bavarian sausage salad was the saddest sausage salad I have ever seen. Four cucumber slices on pre-cut sausage strips with some red onions. The taste is very very weak, just oily. At least there were three slices of bread left. But it wasn't worth the money. This can definitely be improved and should definitely be improved, after all, that is our trademark in Bavaria. We got a place without a reservation but were informed in advance that it might take a little longer, which is completely fine with this information. But it would be a good idea to ask the guest again every now and then when the glasses are empty whether they would like something else to drink, also for the sake of sales. ;) Location is very nice and central.

Super! Even though we didn't make a reservation, the friendly staff assigned us a table. I've had a completely different experience here in Garmisch. (No reservation = out). Not here. I am a trained chef myself and can only say that the food is delicious, authentic and very good. That's how it should be. My culinary highlight here. Keep it up dear ones. Clear recommendation!

The sausage salad was absolutely cheap and carelessly prepared. There were factory-cut sausage strips and a full 5 slices of pickle in there. I avoided onions due to intolerance. Add 1.5 slices of bread and you're done. You could tell from the neighboring tables that small reorders were not possible. (Rather than fries, prefer fried potatoes) Anyone who didn't reserve a spot for the beer garden didn't get one. Although there was the option of sitting in the restaurant, that wasn't even offered, even though there were still tables available inside. (Without reserved note)

Die Kartoffelröstis waren sehr fettig und sehr wenig gewürzt, zudem hat das Dressing am Salat gefehlt. Die Suppe war aber lecker.

The food gets a 10/10. We ordered the knuckle and the rösti, both very crispy and hot. For dessert, the classic Kaiserschmarrn was also very tasty.

At the beginning the staff seemed very unfriendly and uninterested. Over time the behavior subsided somewhat. The food was ok but not great. The knuckle was well prepared but completely unseasoned. Just like the dumplings and the sauce. The sauerkraut was quite good. Kaiserschmarrn tasted good but was very compact. Unfortunately we wouldn't go there again, it's a shame...

The food was okay, some of it was overpriced, for example a Burata with 2-3 tomatoes and a Klaks ready-made pesto for €13.80. Card payments will not be possible here in 2024 either, it's just annoying. Bayer. Schweinebraten: viel Fleisch, aber schmeckt wie drei mal eingefroren und vier mal aufgetaut. Kartoffelklöße und Blaukraut in Ordnung. Meine Frau bestellte gefüllten Pfannkuchen. Drei Fertigteile aus der Friteuse - ohne Geschmack, Salatbeilage sehr gut. Mit jeweils einem Getränk: 48€.

The crusty roast was super tender. The sauce, dumplings and red cabbage were also excellent. The cheese spaetzle had the perfect consistency and the cheese taste was pleasantly spicy. Can just be recommended.

The food was really nicely prepared and you can sit very nicely right on the market square. However, the salad was not very seasoned and very oily.

We ate here for the second time today, June 10, 2024. The service and the food were excellent. Particularly recommended is the roast pork. I've never had such tender pork. If our vacation wasn't over, we would definitely like to come back. Greetings Karsten.

We are currently in Grainau and we have already eaten at “Zum Dorfbrunnen” twice. The first thing that stands out is the very nice and attentive service. You immediately felt very comfortable. The orders always came quickly. As far as the quality of the food is concerned, I can only say...GREAT. The Kässpätzle were a delight, the Leberkäse was delicious and the mega-sized breaded schnitzel was simply delicious. And the young ladies in service are always very attentive. We were there on May 31st evening and June 3rd late afternoon and it wasn't the last visit👍👍👍👍

Great food with child-friendly service

Typical Bavarian inn, menu accordingly with a great selection. Super friendly staff, the food comes quickly. It tastes great, but be careful, the portions are gigantic (I thought it was awesome). Prices are a little higher, but it's definitely worth it, the area is generally a little more expensive anyway.

The restaurant is worth a visit. My rating would probably be a 4.5 but in the end it was really tasty and went quite quickly. Excellent beer and good service round off the visit. You can definitely go here and I am happy to recommend it.

Was here for the first time and am a little disappointed. I had the roast pork with beer sauce, red cabbage and dumplings. Unfortunately I have to say that the roast wasn't as tender as I'm used to. The sauce tasted good, but unfortunately it was cold. The red cabbage had a little too much clove spice for my taste; but the dumplings were good. I won't go there again, but it's all just a matter of taste...

Anyone who loves Bavarian cuisine will not be disappointed. The atmosphere is very inviting, the staff are friendly and the food is delicious. The portions are large and definitely fill you up.

It was okay, the food itself was unfortunately a bit dry but ok. The service staff clearly didn't feel like it and the room is far too narrow for so many tables. Then it got louder and louder. A pity.
