Restaurant Jägerstüberl in Grainau

The food was incredibly delicious. The waitress was very friendly, and the service was quick, even though it was busy. Reservations are recommended, as some people had to leave without reservations because all the tables were taken.

We visited the restaurant without ordering. We received a very warm welcome and were quickly seated for two. The food was plentiful, delicious, and lovingly prepared. The hospitality was very warm and accommodating. We would love to come back.

The best cevapi in ages! The Djuvec rice is absolutely delicious! You can taste that everything is homemade. We really enjoyed it, thank you so much!

The service was smooth and friendly. We didn't have a reservation, all the tables were reserved, but we were able to grab one for another hour and a half. The location was beautiful with a view of the mountains. The food was ready quickly! We were eating about 15 minutes after arriving. The dishes weren't particularly special and pretty standard for a German menu. (We had soup, schnitzel, and chicken.) But overall, they were fine. One downside: it wasn't clear to us beforehand that payment was cash only. Good to know!

I don't usually participate in reviews, but this time I have to. I've rarely eaten such a good roast.

Last week, we were spontaneously looking for a restaurant at 8:00 PM after an excursion and happened upon the Jägerstüberl. Luckily, there was still (or already again) a beautiful table outside with a view of the mountains available. Although the restaurant was completely full, we were served quickly and very friendly. They even apologized for the hustle and bustle. The food was absolutely delicious and more than plentiful. We were all absolutely thrilled and haven't eaten this much in a long time. 🤩 We had the sirloin steak, schnitzel, chicken breast fillet, and the Kässpatzn (cheese spaetzle) 😋. A large sign at the entrance indicates that you can only pay in cash, and that wasn't a problem for us. To finish off, we even offered a schnapps or espresso and gummy bears for the little guests 🥰, which isn't something to be taken for granted. The prices are, in my opinion, completely normal and you won't find them cheaper anywhere else. And it's completely justified, given the great food and atmosphere. We would definitely come back and can highly recommend the Jägerstüberl! ☺️

The staff pretended I wasn't there. After 45 minutes, a gentleman approached me and informed me that the kitchen was closed. Besides the food, the way you treat others is also important. If you don't want to wait forever for service, I recommend a lovely, unassuming restaurant with delicious food next door. At least they don't complain about customers and being busy.

A very (very) good restaurant with typical Bavarian dishes and some Croatian specialties. The stuffed schnitzel is simply delicious. A warm and friendly welcome. We highly recommend it!

We reserved a table for two, but they wanted to seat us at a table for six. Service was very hectic and rude. The drinks and food took a very long time to arrive. Beer was below the recommended level. Some parts of the goulash were very greasy and inedible. The second potato pancake served was missing a quarter. Not good value for money. We won't be back.

During our stay here in Grainau, we visited the Jägerstüberl twice, and we were more than satisfied! The food, service, and ambiance were simply fantastic! We recommend making a reservation, but we were able to get a table fairly quickly.

We were very satisfied! The food not only tasted excellent, but was also served with a stunning view of the mountains. Even though we didn't have a reservation, the team went to great lengths to get us a table – very friendly and attentive. My husband had a cordon bleu, and I had the cevapcici – both were perfectly prepared and delicious. We even finished with a shot of schnapps on the house. In summary: A thoroughly enjoyable visit. Keep it up – we'll be back!

Definitely recommended! Tasty food with friendly and smooth service. Here you can still hear the employees laughing with each other. Nice idea that employees enjoy their work and that radiates in their hospitality.

We ate at the Jägerstüberl twice during our short break in Grainau. The young gentleman who served us was super-responsive and very friendly. The food was excellent both times. To finish off, we were treated to a schnapps or an espresso on the house. We will definitely stop here again on our next trip to the area. Thank you very much & keep up the good work.

We felt completely at home in this restaurant. The food was really good, the portions generous, and the service friendly. The apple fritters were our highlight – we would order them again anytime!

So we were there to eat and the food went like this: there is asparagus on the menu which costs 27 with schnitzel and the hollandaise sauce is from the Tetra pack from Lukull which is a shame. The dumplings were definitely a convincing product. The rest was edible but given the situation you should think about whether you don't talk to the chef because he can definitely do a lot better 😉😉 for that you have to praise the service and the cleanliness very much because everything was perfect, including the drinks the price line is definitely okay

My favorite restaurant is 1000km from where I live! It's amazing how traditional cousine can be made with passion, unforgettable flavors and served in a way you just want to go back over and over again! If there's one reason to come back to Grainau, it's Jägersübel!

The food was average and unfortunately nothing special, but the prices were quite high and not justified. Service was okay, we just found it a shame that they didn't point out that the kitchen was closing, so we couldn't order any warm dessert. We then ordered an ice cream sundae with hot blueberries, unfortunately the blueberries were anything but hot and they were warmed up in the microwave, absolutely not acceptable for a restaurant. Additionally, card payment is not possible, which is quite annoying as this should be standard in a restaurant these days. The ambience was nice. Unfortunately we cannot recommend it…

I was traveling alone. The service was exceptionally friendly! Even though there was a lot going on, they handled it so well. And the food was really a 10/10. I think I've ever had the best hollandaise here. And Grainau is one of the most beautiful places in Germany anyway!

We had crusty roast, which was simply great. The crust is perfect and the meat is nice and lean.

Very disappointing! We sat down at a table and waited for 15 minutes - no one came to serve us. When someone finally came to us, we were told that we could only drink something and not get anything to eat. This is completely unprofessional and disrespectful to the guests. We left hungry and will definitely never come back. Not recommended!

Super delicious food!! We had very tender fantastic schnitzel (pork loin)!! Very friendly service, short waiting times and nice atmosphere outside. A large parking lot is a few meters further with free parking time (I mean it was 2 hours free). The choice that evening was completely right!! Thank you ❤️

I would like to give more stars. This was by far the best garlic soup my husband and I have ever tasted. The schnitzel was super tender. Service perfect. Ambiance totally cozy. Everything went well, thank you for the lovely evening with you, it was really outstanding.

We have been coming to Grainau once a year for many years. The Jägerstüberl is an absolute must. Always very good. The owners are very warm and friendly. The food was outstanding. The beef loin is highly recommended! We have always been very satisfied over the years.

Our visit to the Jägerstübl was very nice. The grill plate is recommended, very tasty and the portion is really large. We were also very welcome with 2 large dogs. The service and ambience were very good, hence 5 out of 5 stars for this restaurant!

This little restaurant is absolutely recommended!! We were there by chance and just had to eat there a second time. Starting with the two super nice ladies, the restaurant was very well decorated. Orders were taken quickly and the food was ready even quicker. You can really hear how people are working in the kitchen (very positive). I had the schnitzel for the second time, it was pounded really nicely, super tender, great marinade and the fried potatoes were on point. What you have to say is that 2 schnitzels are served, so double the enjoyment. The price is absolutely right, but you can happily pay more for it. After all the positive writing, you can now honestly say that the restaurant really deserves first place in the TV show “My Local, Your Local”.

Croatia meets Bavarian. I'm always skeptical about mixed restaurants. But in the Jägerstüberl the concept works and both the Bavarian and Croatian dishes are at a top level. The service was warm, attentive - top. The food and drinks, definitely not cheap but absolutely acceptable for the quality offered, it was delicious! We both had soup, 1 drink each and a main course. The ambience, rustic Bavarian inside, looks more modern on the outside, in any case well-kept and clean. Conclusion: A great restaurant, we would love to come back.

A locals restaurant for sure, because the place was full. Great service and pet friendly, too. I would say their specaltiy are cream sauces, which both dishes that we ordered came with, the chicken pasta and the roast beef; both were delicious. Our dinner there made for a memorable evening and would definitely return there if I ever make it back to Grainu. Please note, cash only!

No matter what you choose from the menu, everything is great. The vacation is always far too short to try all the delicious dishes. For us it is now “eating with friends”: Suzana, Zeljko, Melanie and team, you are the best. You cater to all your wishes - you can't eat better anywhere.... Ambience, warmth and food: top 👍

Rarely eaten so badly. Tasteless and greasy. When we asked how it tasted, our answer was “not good” and “thank you”. Find the error. We'll definitely never come back. Card payments are also no longer up to date Since you can't respond to the answer from the restaurant, here's the answer this way: First. The plates weren't empty. You should take a closer look before you say that. Second. We didn't accept the offered liquor. Also wrong of them again. Third. If from your point of view food should only be “edible” - then we have a different understanding of “eating out”.

The first time was in the Jägerstüberl when I was 6-8 years old...next year I'll be 23 years old and the cheese spaetzle is still my highlight every holiday (the other food is of course also very tasty)!!!😋 The service is great and everyone is very nice. The food is always amazing!!

Totally recommended! We ate there today without a reservation because some restaurants were closed on Mondays. Luckily we still got two places. After 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. it is recommended to reserve in advance. Nice ambience, nice and fast, courteous service and, above all, very tasty, rich food. It tasted really good and was good value for money. The schnapps at the end shows the customer-oriented orientation of the inn.

The pork loin was unfortunately bad and the salad had too many different things, but I thought it was a buttery tender schnitzel, but apart from these points it was a very great local place. Large portions for a really fair price, a cool service team and a very nice atmosphere. Gladly again & definitely a recommendation.

We were there two evenings in a row and we were very impressed with the food. The potato chips and the schnitzel are very good, but the huge number of wasps on the terrace were annoying. Unfortunately, the atmosphere among the service staff is not always very harmonious and you as a customer notice that. We were still served very friendly and we never had the feeling of being overlooked or forgotten.

One of the best dishes I’ve ever had while traveling. The employees were very kind. They made room for us even though we did not have a reservation. But I strongly recommend making a reservation. The only negative was the construction happening around the restaurant and the many bees. But the food is well worth it! The garlic soup was AMAZING!!! My only regret was not taking note of the name of the dish I had on the chefs specials menu. So if anyone knows the German name for the crispy onion schnitzel PLEASE let me know or share the picture of the menu! I never write reviews, but was so happy with our experience here that I felt compelled to do so😊

The food was very good and the service too. Noise within the premises and crowds spoil the enjoyment somewhat. It is or was also high season. If you want to eat delicious food, you can and should stop here.
