The Spanish Garden in Linz am Rhein

I haven't been here in ages, and when I heard who had taken over the Spanish Garden, we were keen to eat there. The outdoor seating is really nice and feels like you're on vacation, and the inside is certainly very nice and cozy too. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the papas arrugadas with mojo sauce and the Iberico ham, which were divine. The restaurant was packed and the service a bit stressed, but we'll be back and are already looking forward to the delicious food 🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸

This was our second time there. There are many different tapas to choose from. We ordered from the entire menu both times. Everything was delicious. Add a delicious glass of sangria and, in the beautiful outdoor area, you really feel a little closer to Spain. 😊

The restaurant is okay - nothing more. That's not even the fault of the food, but much more due to external influences. First, the food: The creme Catalana was overcooked and simply not good. The dips were tasteless. The rest of the food was good - really tasty. BUT: There's no internet in the basement - all good - you don't need it while eating. But people... hygiene! There are thick webs of dust everywhere in the basement and meters of dust. Sometimes it's right above your head. Lots of visible expansion foam on the ceilings - it really doesn't look good. You're supposed to hand over your menu - why not keep it so you can order more? That's in the restaurant's interest, right? A repeat? Probably not.

Delicious food, excellent service, and a lovely indoor and outdoor area. I already know the owners from their previous restaurant. It's always worth a visit, and I'll definitely be back often!

We discovered the Spanish Garden by chance on our first day of vacation after the wonderful aromas of food wafted into our noses, and we were completely thrilled. So thrilled that we went there almost every day, whether for dinner or just a glass or two of wine. The owners are warm and very attentive. You can feel how much love they put into their restaurant and the dishes. The waiters round off a successful evening, are attentive, and also offer good food recommendations. The food is truly delicious and fresh. A variety of tapas, with great attention to quality. Simply a dream. The ambiance fits the theme perfectly and is very cozy. We enjoy sitting there for a long time and feel very relaxed.

Dear team, Thanks to your flexibility, we were able to eat outside without a reservation this weekend. What a GREAT restaurant! I come from the restaurant industry myself and can recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves a nice ambiance and good food! This is a high-level nitpicking – I also said on site, please automatically add bread to the tapas. Chickpea puree, for example, definitely needs bread :) Keep it up!

I used to visit the Spanish Garden often and was always very satisfied. Unfortunately, the owners changed, and I wanted to try out the new restaurant. No sooner said than done, and last week, on my birthday, the time had come. The outdoor garden hadn't changed since before. Inside, it looked just as gloomy; unfortunately, I didn't notice any changes. Okay, we sat outside, and the waiters were friendly and attentive. The menu consisted mainly of tapas, which is generally good, but the selection of dishes was very limited. The food was very tasty, but the portions were tiny! The chiruzo portion, in particular, was very limited. Unfortunately, the value for money isn't right there. Bread is also charged extra, which I'm not used to. All in all, everyone was still hungry afterward, but no one was full! It's a shame, I expected something different. Therefore, unfortunately, only 2 stars: one for the staff, the other for the quality. We won't be visiting the Spanish Garden again in the future....

We visited the hotel for the first time under the new owner and were thrilled. Everything was to our complete satisfaction. We will definitely return on our next visit to Linz.

The garden is small and cozy. The tapas and sangria are excellent. The cellar is also very nice, and the owner is a real character.

The food was very tasty and fresh, although the portion size was a bit small in my opinion. Unfortunately, I received pork that was completely overcooked and therefore dry and tough, and without any sauce or dip. I assume it was an oversight—but that shouldn't happen.

This is the second time I have been there since the reopening and the new operators and I would come again and again! Both the outdoor and indoor areas are inviting and give holiday vibes. The Spanish music and the great decor really bring the Spanish atmosphere across! The staff is super nice and even when it's a little busy they're there to help and give you advice and have time for a little chat. The menu fulfilled all wishes and the food was delicious! The aioli is the best I've eaten so far and I can also recommend the chorizo ​​to everyone! Thanks also for every tip from the waitress, everything that was recommended was really tasty. A tip for the boss: even if you want to run your business like a family, and we're in the Rhineland, you shouldn't address your guests informally if they're there for the first time and you don't know each other personally!!!!!!!

Fantastic place, wonderful people & a typical ambience on top of that. Full 5 stars and it's absolutely not about perfection but rather a love of good food and humanity. Yes, it was full, so we expected a longer wait. The girls worked incredibly hard and the chef cooked world-class food. What more could you want?! Nice atmosphere, friendly service, price/performance ratio is not right. Food hardly seasoned, bread has to be ordered and paid for separately. Had something to drink, but no attention from the staff, so paid and left. It's a shame, we expected more.

Very cozy restaurant and courtyard. The new operators have it remarkably clean. That caught my eye straight away. Unfortunately, our spontaneous visit was too late for dinner. Nevertheless, the new operating couple took the time with us to have a nightcap after a busy day. That's what I call true hospitality. You will see us here more often in the future. Clear recommendation! This time the restaurant management is genuinely with Spanish roots.

Rustic atmosphere, a highlight for us for many years, the best sangria and stunning aioli. Homemade bread.

The Saarland hobby chef forces a conversation on you without asking. He also claims to be able to judge the “lack of doctoral degrees” among anesthesiologists. Without being asked, he proudly explains his career from banker to amateur chef. You lose your appetite. Even the waitress asks, bored, whether he's finally finished with his lecture so that she can finally take the drink order. The waitress is the only positive thing that can be mentioned here. You should not make a reservation in the vaulted cellar if you have to be reachable by phone. There is no reception there. Cold tapas are more reminiscent of a third-rate sausage platter and the warm tapas are further away from Spanish cuisine than Linz is from mainland Spain. The frozen squid rings are better in any supermarket than in the “Spanish Garden”. Cold, stale bread is served with the aioli. Last but not least, dirt constantly falls from the ceiling onto your head and into your food. That same evening, some of our group spent a lot of time on the toilet, and the remaining 10 people had to deal with gastrointestinal problems the next morning. Let's hope that his successor does more with this restaurant with a really nice atmosphere. A visit to the current operator is under no circumstances recommended

We got a table in the Spanish Garden at fairly short notice. Since there were eight of us, we were given a round table outside in the best weather. We shared tappas with several people and were more than full. The other dishes also looked really excellent. The fast and friendly service is also worth highlighting. We had a great evening with very good food and a great atmosphere.

Very very disappointing. On the first visit everything was great, the reservation went smoothly and the food was also very tasty. Now we wanted to come back with a larger group, but unfortunately the gentleman on the phone was so unfriendly and dismissive when he told me that nothing was available anymore that we definitely wouldn't go there anymore. Apparently the restaurant is overwhelmed with a booking of 8 people. The second star is only given because the food was really delicious last year.

My god, what should I write? This restaurant is so beautiful. The inner courtyard is so beautifully planted. You feel like you are in Italy/Spain. The food was amazing. My brother invited us here for his birthday. It couldn't have been better! The food was amazing, the best tapas I've tasted so far. The inner courtyard and the restaurant are lovingly designed, the vaulted cellar is a highlight, especially for the children, and the boss is a wonderfully refreshing one-of-a-kind. A very small, fine restaurant where you can eat very well, the various tabas are served, they all taste very good while they are still hot and the price for two people is around 60 euros. You almost have 8/9 different Papapas, a bottle of Ballasion water, very nice service, the ambience is great, you can see the pictures, the restaurant really looks at you, it's really a secret and you have to reserve in advance so we can't get to a place.

We found the restaurant while strolling through the town of Linz. The view of the Garzen was inviting and made you want more. We first walked past only to stop there at the end. The tapas were delicious, the wine was good and the atmosphere was pleasant. On top of that, we received other excursion destinations as recommendations from the boss.

A cozy restaurant with a great ambience. We had made reservations for outside but had to sit inside as it had rained and the outside seats were wet. As a result, the arrival and start of lunch wasn't as friendly and relaxed as I would have liked. There is wonderful food, which is beautifully presented. Everything tasted very good, according to my meat-eating companions. My vegetarian dish was great. A restaurant that I can highly recommend, but you should reserve in advance if you want to be sure of a seat.

Very quaint and cozy restaurant with excellent food and good wines! You can absolutely rely on the recommendations of the head of the house - a true Saarlander! Very nice selection of tapas and friendly service.

A humorous couple runs the Spanish Garden with a lot of love. The tapas are a dream and all handmade and individually seasoned. The ambience in the listed house is very rustic and decorated with fresh flowers and Spanish wine. The bread and Aljoli are also homemade and get you in the mood for Spain. We particularly recommend the grilled squid or the black tiger. The stuffed tomatoes are also a must when we are there again.

The owner's unsympathetic manner really makes the joy of eating go away. As a vegan, you just want to eat in peace, like everyone else, without having to have what feels like the tenth fundamental discussion with the owner because he thinks he keeps making his negative attitude towards veganism known through stupid sayings and disinformation. I've really had enough. And my mother's guests also found the invasive manner inappropriate. My mother's next birthday will take place somewhere else.

Sehr schönes kleines Restaurant mit freundlichen Bedienung, klasse Beratung bei der Auswahl von Speisen und Getränke.

Wir waren heute hier zum Tapas Essen. Durch die Jahreszeit konnten wir leider nicht in dem schönen Garten sitzen. Da kommen wir auch zum Flair .. auf den ersten Blick sehr charmant und gemütlich, nur leider hätte das Restaurant sehr dringend einen Hausputz nötig. Die Spinnweben, bis zum Staub und dem Dreck auf dem Boden.. die Krönung war aber eine Serviette auf dem Boden, dass diese noch nicht laufen konnte, war alles. Der Service ist soweit gut und freundlich. Das essen war okay. Wir waren definitiv schon bei vielen Spaniern essen und dieses hier war eher ausreichend. Leider ist viel aus der Tiefkühltruhe und man merkt es an der Qualität. ZB die Tintenfischringe oder auch die Aioli ist definitiv nicht frisch zubereitet worden. Meine Frage an die Kellnerin, ob frische Eier verwendet wurden (da ich schwanger bin), konnte sie mir mit stottern beantworten: „ja, wahrscheinlich, aber ich frage sonst nochmal sicherheitshalber nach.“ Im gesamten war unser Aufenthalt okay, daher die drei Sterne. Aber wir gehen definitiv nicht mehr hierher.

Sehr leckeres Essen, große Auswahl, am besten Tisch vorbestellen.

Durch die Bank weg ein Traum. Der Besitzer (schien jedenfalls so) begrüßte und und fragt ob wir schon mal da gewesen wären. Als wir verneinten, stellte er uns verschiedene Platten vor und erklärte uns, was diese beinhalteten. Das hat uns die Entscheidung sehr leicht gemacht und es war sympathisch. Wir hatten die Tapasplatte bestellt und wurden mit sehr leckeren Tapas überrascht. Das Essen war super zubereitet und die Qualität merkt man sofort. Der selbstgemachte Sangria dazu hat das gesamt Erlebnis wunderbar abgerundet. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, fragte mehrmals ob alles in Ordnung sei, fanden wir gut! Auf Nachfrage gab es nochmal frisches Brot und Aioli nach und das ganze ohne Aufpreis. Das wird sicher nicht unser letzter Besuch sein. Danke für das tolle Erlebnis!

Es war außerordentlich gut. Das Wetter war hervorragend und wir konnten im Innenhof essen. Unbedingt vorher reservieren! Es wurde sofort leckeres Baguette mit hausgemachter Aioli serviert, einfach köstlich. Anschließend haben wir uns verschiedene warme Tapas ausgesucht (Champignons, Krabben in Tomaten-Sherrysoße, Tintenfischringe, Kartoffeln mit Meersalz und 2 Soßen, Käse und Thunfisch im Blätterteig, Fleischspieße) Alles war super lecker und die Sangria spezial passte wunderbar dazu. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Wenn wir noch einmal durch Linz kommen, werden wir wieder einen Tisch reservieren.
