I ate there with friends and family for the second time yesterday, so I can now rate a total of seven dishes. This will also be my last visit, as the experience wasn't any better than the first: An Italian restaurant where the chicken burger tastes better than pizza and pasta—find the mistake! The lasagna consisted of a single sheet of pasta, and the sauce was questionable. The pizza was sloppy. The dish with the black pasta and shrimp was pretty bland. The Frutti di Mare sauce was sour/bitter. Guys, tomato sauce needs sugar, tell your kitchen that! The food came so quickly both times, there can't be any quality behind it. It's simply too expensive for that! Stars are given for the very friendly waiters and the cozy atmosphere. But that's not the reason I go to a restaurant...

We arrived very late (10 p.m.) and they only had pizza left. But that wasn't a problem, because it was very, very tasty. We shared one and it was served on two plates. Plus points for this attentiveness. The staff is very friendly, and as a guest you feel absolutely welcome. Everything is just right here: food, service, ambiance.

Unfortunately, the service was a bit overwhelmed due to the high demand. The restaurant has modern decor, but unfortunately, it's a bit noisy and therefore not very cozy. In conclusion: If you're staying overnight in Gateway Gardens and don't want to drive far, you'll find a solid Italian restaurant here.

We travel to this airport hotel area annually for work and always frequent this restaurant at all times of day! They have some of the best non-alcoholic drink options in the area with many sparkling fruit juice options and coffee choices. Their breakfast options are a little disappointing but their lunch and dinner menu are phenomenal. Wait staff are very friendly, chairs are very comfortable, and the atmosphere is light and lively late at night. We highly recommend the fruit juice drink options - the fresh squeezed orange juice is amazing and something we can not find many places back home in Florida where oranges are grown all over! Their margarita pizza is also very good and flavorful!

Not just pizza... a thoroughly enjoyable evening! The service was excellent – ​​the staff were attentive, friendly, and enhanced the entire evening with their professionalism and warmth. I particularly liked the fact that they really take the time to engage with guests and ensure every aspect of their visit is perfect. The ambience is modern and stylish, with a perfect balance of traditional Italian charm and contemporary design. The restaurant's location is also ideal – right in the heart of Gateway Gardens, making it a wonderful spot for a relaxing evening. A truly beautiful spot that's definitely worth remembering.

I've never had such fast service. We ordered two drinks and two pizzas. The drinks arrived within two minutes. And the pizzas also arrived after ten minutes, even though the place was packed. The atmosphere was very nice; we immediately felt at home. We'd like to thank you for the service and especially for the delicious pizzas. The Italians in the Ruhr area should take a leaf out of their book.

We were here in a small group and were very pleasantly surprised. Very accommodating, very friendly service, and the food was excellent. The food was very quick, and despite different dishes, everything arrived at the same time. A must-try experience. Highly recommended 😊👍

Little bit loud, food was tasty and service fast

The atmosphere was very nice as was the server but that is where the positives end. The waiter brought out a chicken burger instead of the beef burger we ordered but my wife was very hungry and ate most of it. The minestrone soup was way too salty. My risotto had no flavor and the shrimp was overcooked. We would not recommend this place

If you’re standard at an airport hotel in Frankfurt there aren’t too many options around. The Italian was open late, had super friendly staff, and the food was decent.

A very cool location with a diverse selection of dishes – there's something for everyone here. We chose tuna salad with garlic pizza sticks and tortellini de la casa. Both portions were generous and delicious! The service was friendly and attentive, both at the reception and at the table. The prices are above average, but also reasonable. It's a great place to treat yourself to something delicious before your trip starts ;-)

The food (mixed starters and pizza) was good. Service was attentive and friendly. A bit loud, making it difficult to have a conversation because there were many large groups there.

The salami truffle flatbread and lemon sorbet with prosecco at [Restaurant Name] were delicious. However, the service was incredibly disappointing. After my dessert, I was completely ignored for over half an hour, despite being near the kitchen and server station. When I finally got my server's attention and asked if it was customary to ask for the check, he said, 'Yes, in Germany.' But in my two weeks in Cologne, I've never had to do that. It felt like they were only interested in taking my order, and showed no interest in checking on me or providing a good dining experience. Their service felt very cold and impersonal.

We were here twice – before and after our vacation. It was kind of nice, but also kind of not. We were asked to move to a table for two. The tables were so close together (outside) that we had no privacy. The pizza was okay, the salad was small and unexciting. We enjoyed the Montepulciano and the coffee.

We had one of the worst experiences at this restaurant. We arrived around 9 PM and asked if they did takeout. At first, the staff member (an Asian man, possibly the owner or manager) said they don’t offer takeout. As we were leaving, he stopped us and said he would “find a way” and offered to serve us at a table, then give us boxes to pack the food ourselves. From the beginning, he pressured us to order drinks, saying they wouldn't take our food order without drinks. Then, we asked about the pizza sizes, and he told us they were individual-sized – only enough for one person. Based on that information, we ordered five pizzas. We were tourists and unfamiliar with the area, so we trusted what he said. When the pizzas arrived, we were shocked — they were huge and clearly meant for multiple people. We could barely finish two of them and had to give the rest away at our hotel because we had no way to store or transport them. On top of that, they brought the boxes before the food arrived and made us pay and tip upfront, which felt very pushy. After the food came and we questioned him about the size, he just smiled and kept saying, “Okay, thank you, you can leave now.” It felt dismissive and dishonest. We ended up spending over €100 on a meal we couldn’t even finish because we were misled. The whole experience felt like a scam, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Be cautious — especially if you're not local

Restaurant is ok for layover, but isn’t typically Italian. Fine if you’re hungry, but nothing more. Nevertheless the staff is friendly and it’s clean.

Would not recommend eating here. The salad dressing was sour and tasted spoiled, we returned it and still got charged for it. The pizza was poor quality. They also try to upsell anything, no tap water only water for purchase, and extra costs for condiments.

Overall, l'osteria 2.0 in every respect. Far too loud, waiters friendly but unprofessionally overwhelmed, sometimes juggling individual drinks in their hands. Checking isn't a core competency.

I usually never leave bad reviews, but my experience with one of the extremely rude staff members has led me to write this. We were sitting at our table when the waitress, after taking an order from the table next to us, came over and asked if we needed anything. I asked for a menu at the same time the gentleman from the other table also requested something. Instead of handling the situation politely, she grabbed a menu from the table behind her, slammed it onto our table, and said, “I can’t split myself into two and serve two tables at the same time, can I?” The attitude was completely uncalled for, especially since she was the one who asked if we needed anything. Very disappointing experience — would not recommend.

Ignored for 20 minutes – despite the shop being completely empty and only having three full tables outside. We wanted lunch, but if you're doing enough business and don't need customers, then keep it up. The service is the worst I've experienced in a long time!

The pizza Caprese was very small and quite pricy for its size. On top of that the pizza really wasn’t good. It tasted mostly neutral and was average on a good day. Also I don’t like paying 20 bucks including tip on a meal and an espresso that leaves me as hungry as before. Just my two cents.

I had to spend a day in Frankfurt and I discovered this restaurant by coincidence. There weren't halal restaurants nearby however this restaurant had many suitable vegetarian and vegan options so I went there for dinner and breakfast. Food was so good that I finished the whole plates which usually doesn't happen. Prices were very good too. I couldn't speak German but the staff spoke English and Spanish which was very convenient for me. The location is great is next to so many hotels and near the airport so you can watch planes if you chose the outdoor seating area.

I went there with my wife for dinner, and it was delicious. The food was delivered quickly, and we received very friendly service. Our table was on the terrace, and it was very loud there. We were unlucky enough to have people next to us talking on the phone for an hour on speakerphone. But even without it, it was very loud. For a romantic, quiet evening, I'd rather go somewhere else. It's very suitable for a good atmosphere or a business lunch. I want to mention the good food again :-)

The restaurant wasn't crowded at that time of day, so you could choose a seat in peace (whether inside or outside). The food was delicious! If you want to order a pizza there, you have to be very hungry ;) The prices were also perfectly reasonable, I'd say.

Parking in Frankfurt is generally difficult, especially in this area. We were staying at a nearby hotel and went to this bistro because they didn't serve breakfast after 10:30 a.m. We liked the concept: You can eat there anytime – with no time limit, which is nice. It's really nice and cozy inside, and okay outside. The chairs outside didn't seem particularly sturdy to me, but they served their purpose. I had a beef burger – it tasted okay, but rather small for the price. A positive was that I could get vegetables instead of fries. My wife's meal was much better – delicious and beautifully presented. Unfortunately, the service was poor: hardly any eye contact, no one asked if we wanted anything else – overall, it seemed as if the waitresses weren't particularly interested. This significantly tarnishes the overall impression. Conclusion: Three stars. The food and ambiance were okay, but nothing special. The service was disappointing. Overall okay, but not convincing enough to come back or recommend it.

Great restaurant with gluten free options. I was staying at a near by hotel for the weekend and was exploring gluten free options. I am a coeliac and noticed that this Italian had GF pasta on their menu. Dish was great, lovely location too

Food is mediocre at best and the service is almost non-existent.

Disappointing visit from an unfriendly, almost aggressive waiter. After a long day at work, my colleague and I wanted to relax and enjoy a pizza at "The Italian." Although the restaurant was at most one-third full, a waiter (with long brown hair in a braid) asked us to leave our chosen table for four by the window and sit at a smaller table for two – citing a "rule." When we asked why other guests were allowed to sit at four-person tables, the answer became contradictory: Outside, it supposedly doesn't matter where you sit. This made the rule arbitrary and difficult to understand. The way we were spoken to became increasingly brusque, the tone unfriendly, almost aggressive. After ordering, we felt so uncomfortable that we left the restaurant. Other employees seemed irritated; apparently, our impression wasn't entirely unfounded. If rules are more important than treating guests with respect, especially in a nearly empty restaurant, something is fundamentally wrong. Friendliness costs nothing, but it scares away fewer people than unnecessary strictness or rules. What a shame!

The Italian is located near the hotels in the Gateway Gardens area and was a great place for lunch during an overnight stay in Frankfurt. Despite the concert-related crowds that day, we easily got a table for two. There's plenty of seating inside and outside. The service was excellent: Despite the busyness, the staff were relaxed, friendly, and happy to have a quick chat. The food arrived quickly, was attractively presented, and very tasty. The Italian will be on our list for our next visit.

A great restaurant! The service was excellent and the food here is always delicious. This time I had a pastrami sandwich – amazing! My colleagues loved it too. Unfortunately, it tends to get a bit noisy here, so it loses a point for the atmosphere.

Our dishes were way, way, way too salty, and the others weren't salty at all. Unfortunately, it was inedible, but the waiter was very nice.

Delicious, good service, it may seem expensive, but it's worth it. Its proximity to the airport hotels makes it the perfect choice if you want to have a good meal in the evening before your flight the next day.

Friendly restaurant that serves good (but not exceptional) Italian dishes. I went there around 17:50 alone and the place and there were plenty of tables. I would recommend here since there aren't many good restaurants nearby. The young staff were all friendly and I visited around 5:50 PM and there were many empty seats so I didn't have to wait. There aren't many good restaurants nearby so I'm willing to recommend it, but it's not an 'exceptionally' delicious restaurant.

Levo and Ravos made the experience exeptional along with the amaxing food! Ive been in around in Europe tue past few months and having these two guys welcome me the way they did made me feel at home! In my in Europa, this has been the best service i have received.. I would highly recommend the italian Frankfurt as a memory captured in the time i was here!

Located at the Frankfurt airport hotel area, can tell how popular this place by the area of its. Ordered their chicken with fried vegetables, the mushroom sauce is rich but smooth, only if chicken can be a little bit more tender.

We had to wait an hour for our food. The kitchen had printed the receipt but hadn't processed it. Unfortunately, our server didn't notice, even though the food was being served to our left and right, even though the guests had arrived after us. Spoons for the noodles were only brought after we asked for them. We didn't ask if we wanted anything else, nor did we ask if we enjoyed our meal. Instead, the server chatted to the next table for minutes. The restaurant manager acknowledged our complaint without a word!

We were here for the first time on May 22, 2025, to meet up with our cousin, who was flying to Canada. We do this often. But this time, everything worked out perfectly. We got a table spontaneously, great food, and fantastic service! Mr. Yavuz Kaan Kurt treated us to excellent food and drinks. He constantly asked if everything was okay. He was super nice and enjoyed his work. Thank you. So, I can recommend it!

Went there with a group and ate mostly pizza. It was very tasty, large, and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and helpful, although we were still trying to find someone to take a charge for a pizza and drinks. The interior was still pleasant, and the outside area was equally appealing.

I ordered bruschetta with three spreads. The spreads were tasty, but the five small bruschettas were gone after two minutes. Far too few for the spread. I ordered more bruschettas because I can't eat tuna paste without it, but in the end I was happy with cold slices of white bread. Five slices arrived, about 4x10 cm. They really charged me! Over two euros for these five little ones, which they should have already included with the spread! I already suspected it! Exactly! Great business model! No, no! I'd rather go back where I get enough bread for the price that I can also use up the spread. I would therefore order enough bread BEFORE ordering. Remember: small gifts keep friendships alive. Too small ones destroy them.

We've been to this fantastic restaurant several times. It's located in Frankfurt Gateway Garden, and we always use it before our trips from Frankfurt Airport. Staying overnight at a hotel near the airport and then having dinner at "the Italian" = perfect. Everything is just right here, and the outstanding service is particularly noteworthy. The staff are so friendly, so well-groomed, and modern. We felt very comfortable. The food is amazing, the pizza so delicious and made with good ingredients. The drinks are excellent, and the ambiance is unbeatable. Thank you very much.
