Dick & Doof L´orginale Bornheim in Frankfurt am Main

Everything was great, but it was a bit strange that you had to order your own food when you came in and collect your food from the counter, even though there were enough staff on site. This was a bit difficult as many of the tables are tightly packed together and it's difficult to get through. But pizzas are excellent.

The food was delicious and the portions were larger than expected. They even spontaneously reserved the next available table and kept my outside drink cold until we were finished. Totally nice people. Really nice evening! :)

Nice pizzeria and good food. However, the demeanor of the staff/owner urgently needs to be reconsidered. When they wait several times a day, posing together on their motorcycles, cigarettes in hand, it unfortunately comes across as rather threatening and off-putting.

For such a small mini pizza 13€ I'd rather order somewhere else sorry guys you have small children's portion for a lot of money

The new location is very nice, but the pizza is a little smaller and sparser. At least it tastes good. So: a glass of mediocre wine from a 2.5 liter bottle with your small pizza, and you've already spent €18.50. I've been going to Dick and Doof for over 40 years. I'll probably look for an alternative.

Pizzeria Dick & Doof is an absolute classic on Berger Straße, and I'm so glad they stayed loyal to this wonderful street despite their move! Now at Berger Straße 130 in Bornheim, absolutely nothing has changed in terms of charm and quality. The pizzas are still fantastic – crispy, thin crust and always freshly made. The pasta dishes and salads are also worth a visit. The cozy interior and friendly service make every meal a real pleasure. If you're on Berger Straße and want really good pizza, you should definitely stop by here. Dick & Doof remains an institution at its new location! By the way: The wonderful terrace will also be opening very soon, where you can enjoy the delicious food on this wonderful street in Frankfurt.

Not bad, but not that good either. Today we ate two pizzas. It's strange that there are two pizza sizes: 28cm is too small while 40cm is too big. It is still possible to return from time to time.

Ate at the old location so often and always loved it. Now at the new location I was unfortunately disappointed: a pizza soaked in fat 👎👎👎 the pizza box got oily on my tablecloths at home. Service was nice though.

The music is way too loud that you actually leave with a headache. The prices are too overpriced and the interior design is also very tight. The staff is very nice, but otherwise I wouldn't recommend it.

First of all: there is nothing wrong with the taste! The only thing that disappointed us was the size. We took the pizza to-go with us and at home we were a bit surprised at how small the pizza was - and in typical German fashion, we measured it at home just for fun: instead of the approx. 28cm according to the map, the diameter was a maximum of 24cm. I find that a bit of a shame. For the price and the true size, it's pretty steep. I would still come back because I think they taste great ☺️

Overpriced and small portions unfortunately

The pizzas taste good, all the pastas are super tasty, we also recommend the lunch menus. Unfortunately, due to the move to Untere Berger, it is no longer as comfortable and quiet, and there is also no nice outdoor area for eating. Apparently the owner is having customers pay for the renovation. Since then the dishes have become €2 more expensive.

Furnishing the new rooms (Berger Straße 130) – I can't say anything about the quality of the food. But about the furnishings: “The eye eats with me!” – and mine loses its appetite here. The aesthetics are so subterranean that I can't eat a bite while I'm there. Maybe I'll order something to take away. Hopefully there won't be any argument about the taste of the delicacy ;). Solid pizza, but according to my taste and also in terms of size/price ratio, it could do with a little more toppings (see picture - pepperoni sausage is available quite sporadically). In the restaurant itself, the seats are arranged somewhat differently. I think this could have been solved better.

I deleted my old review and am writing a new one. You can have a bad day and then you don't get anything done as a chef. I'm a chef myself and am on vacation in Frankfurt and have ordered food from Dick & Doof a few times and I'm absolutely thrilled. No matter whether pizza, pasta or, like today, No.85 with pizza bread. The vegetables had a bite and weren't overcooked, even the baked eggplant still had a bite, everything was nicely seasoned and the pizza bread was wonderfully fresh out of the oven. It couldn't have been done any better. It's a very small pizzeria, so I only rate the food. But I'm also a fan of the films and find your collection of these comedian legends unique. ❤️ Thanks for that 👍!

The pizza is good and everything works when you pick it up - but the delivery service is unacceptable. When ordering it was advised 50-60 minutes, after two inquiries the pizza arrived almost 2 hours after ordering. Sorry, but this needs to be planned or communicated better.

If you fancy Italian food. ORDERED FROM DICK UND DOOF ON BERGER STRAẞE. POINT. There is no one in Frankfurt (or anywhere else) who delivers food like this for such a fair price!!! My top recommendations: Riggatoni/Tortellini Kitti al Forno (10/10) Pizza Tonno (10/10) Pizza with salmon and spinach 10/10) Kind regards to the entire team and special greetings to the delivery person who regularly asks how my leg is doing. I ordered there today after I had already had a busy day and all I got was a driver from the restaurant himself who made a complete fool of me because I supposedly didn't answer the bell after he himself didn't answer the phone has. We had dinner here today. Ordered pizza and number 83. Pizza was tasty but the nr83 wasn't that good. Mild abdominal pain and vomiting... According to the owner's response, there is one star less. As if I'm making this up! And we all know how often food inspections are carried out and something can happen from time to time. But to pretend that you're making it up is audacious. We will avoid this chain!

We celebrated a children's birthday in Bornheim and were looking for a location to eat. Since our actual venue didn't have a kitchen, we wanted to eat at Dick and Doof L'Orginale. And what can I say: it was the best decision! The value for money is absolutely top, the food deserves a full 5 stars, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. We felt completely comfortable and were well looked after. A perfect start to your birthday! We will definitely be back and can recommend Dick and Doof l’Originale to anyone looking for delicious food and great service.

Everything is fine on site. Via order service, highly unacceptable quality. 4€ surcharge for 8 slices of the thinnest salami?! Otherwise there is almost no coating and just a dry affair. It's a shame that the phenomenon of ambivalent quality has once again caught up with you. For just under €23 I can get consistently good quality elsewhere in Bornheim. If you look at the Google reviews, this is not an isolated case. How roughly and carelessly can you treat tomatoes and their products? You should be ashamed of saying something like that!! I put burrata on it myself because it was otherwise inedible. What a shame, you once made awesome pizza and pasta that I grew up with for the last 20 years.

Really delicious pizzas! We had the Pizza Carlos and Pizza Speziale, both were amazing. Fluffy but not dense dough, nice char, flavourdul toppings, cheese that don't slide right off, and the view from the bar in this autumnal weather is very Gilmore Girls 💕

Today we visited the small restaurant Dick und Doof in Bornheim and were overall satisfied. The restaurant is cozy, but more suitable for a quick snack or pick-up. There is limited seating, mostly high tables and chairs, which are less suitable for children, wheelchair users or with strollers. The two of us ordered a lasagna and the dish “Hayate Ulla” with chicken breast strips. Both dishes were delicious - the food deserves a solid 8 out of 10. The service was friendly and quick, even though the restaurant was busy. Due to limited seating, the restaurant is geared toward pickup. Overall, a good place for anyone looking for a quick, tasty meal in the area. We'd love to come back!

The food is good. Unfortunately, this is the second time I've had a bad experience with the supplier. Since it was the same both times, I assume he belongs to the restaurant. When ordering via UberEats, it was specifically stated that the name was not on the bell and so you should call. This has never been a problem with any of the other suppliers and there is also the function to write a message if necessary. For the second time it was like this: you get called, come out and then get yelled at. The call cost him money and we wouldn't have given him a tip. If you're being yelled at, there's not much time to give a tip. (Aside from that, tipping is not mandatory) Last time my girlfriend was outside alone and he also yelled at him, which isn't exactly the best behavior, especially if you're a woman alone. At the end there was the threat that next time it wouldn't be delivered, don't worry, we won't order anymore.

The pizzeria has gone from being a restaurant to a self-service joint. You order, pay and are then called over the loudspeaker. So service is zero, as is the ambience inside... But the taste of the dishes is okay and we have the same atmosphere at home. Prices are okay.

Ate the first pizza from Dick & Doof in 1976. For me it was an unforgettable pleasure. Even years later, into the early 2000s, I can say the taste has never changed and I have never had better pizza. Plus all the stars in the world. Since the founders stopped, their tradition also stopped. It's a shame that the new owners couldn't or didn't want to maintain it. The pizza no longer stands out from the rest. Therefore only 3 stars. L'originale is far away!

Be careful, especially the chef doesn't care what he does in the food. This was confirmed to me on the phone. He cooks the way he wants to. You can completely forget about the allergen list. I ordered vegan pasta because I have a severe lactose intolerance. I got pasta with parmesan added on it. Nobody there is interested in severe lactose intolerance. I was told on the phone that we can't change it anymore, the stomach ache will come. People, you are making yourself liable to prosecution. The health department has been informed.

I waited 45 minutes for my food in the store, while my companion had hers after 15 minutes. I sat there without eating. They said they had accidentally packed it up and put it away. When asked, it was warmed up after standing around for half an hour. Pasta completely overcooked, terrible mush. Pretty wrong. The dish should have been fresh and newly prepared.

Food came much later, +1 hour The cream sauce for the tortellini was as runny as water, and you could go looking for as little ham as there was in there. The pizza was 25cm instead of 28cm. No apology despite the delay. I think it was the last time we ordered there.

We always enjoy ordering there and we also accept the price increase. But when I order a schnitzel with Champion cream sauce for €19 and a schnitzel arrives that is just swimming in oil and you have to look for the cream sauce, that's really annoying for the price. Sorry, but that doesn't work at all.

I ate here for the 1000th time today. I paid 3.0 DM for my first pizza at Paolo in 1972. Today I paid for my meal with a 100.00 euro note and received change for 50.00 euros. I just noticed it before I plugged it in. Of course he apologized profusely. It's possible that something like that could happen, but as the Swabian says, it leaves a bad taste. I'll be even more careful in the future.

Unfortunately, our pizza was only lukewarm and the base was rubbery and overall the pizza had little taste. We've eaten much better there.

The best thing is the salmon pizza and when the whole staff thanks you loudly for tips. And even on bad nights, everyone is always friendly.

Pizza very small and not really tasteful. Tomatoes on pizza taste like nothing. Delivery of 3 pizzas takes 75 minutes even though we live around the corner.

It would have been nice to have also received the salad dressing sauce that was ordered and paid for. Pizza was grade 3 Pasta, well, I was able to make it edible with some effort. Delivery time 55 minutes But the delivery person was very polite and friendly. Oh yes, NO delivery fee in Bornheim? But 2 euros! Ate there almost every week 20 years ago and it was cult. WAS!

We have ordered our pizza here weekly for years. But the quality has been noticeably declining for several months and has now reached its absolute lowest point. What was once the best pizza in Frankfurt is now worse than some frozen pizzas. The once so aromatic, fluffy dough, which once made the pizza worth it, is bone dry and inedible. You have to order the pizza with extra cheese to get even close to the amount of cheese you used to have. With a heavy heart we will now start looking for a new regular pizzeria. A pity!

Have it delivered? Better not... Ordered another round of pizza for a birthday party and yes, it was a big surprise whether what was delivered was great. 3/4 of the pizzas were rock hard and completely dried out, only one corresponded to the experience of the pizzas we had eaten on site many times. After all, the supplier was very friendly and delivery was quick. Another call to the pizza maker only resulted in a friendly apology, that's what I call customer service. Conclusion that was the last order via home delivery... But we've never been disappointed on site. It's a shame that things went so wrong with the home delivery
