I'd agree with the average reviews. I ordered the entrecôte with an additional side dish. In my opinion, the food lacked flavor, including salt or a basic seasoning of the meat. The same goes for the pak choi, which was intended as a side dish. Service was good, as was the ambiance.

Amazing! High expectations, and far exceeded. Cooking here is art and love. Just like the ambiance. The service was unobtrusive yet always present. It was a wonderful evening that couldn't have been more perfect. We felt at home, even though this was unfortunately our first experience. One thing is certain: we'll have to repeat it soon. We had a really lovely evening! The food has always been excellent.

Saturday evening, only the bistro menu, and the announcement that the restaurant no longer exists? What a shame, the food was very good. When drinks take 25 minutes to arrive, the head waitress simply lectures you with the words: "True craftsmanship takes time." Wow. Truly poor communication, arrogant, and unreflective. The owner should immediately question whether this is acceptable. At least with a bill of €800.

Very expensive – disappointing experience I paid €23 for two non-alcoholic mojitos – it's completely overpriced. I also didn't receive a receipt. I'm very dissatisfied with the service and won't be coming back.

Our friends invited us to dinner and wanted to do something nice for us. We were all disappointed with the service (forgot what we ordered, mixed it up). We spontaneously ate outside - chairs were so hard - there were no cushions). The steak and fries were delicious (although they had been prepared in a nicer way). The eggplant starter was delicious. Unfortunately the chicken burger wasn't good - the meat wasn't of good quality. When you remember earlier times, you are very disappointed and the pictures on the website promise otherwise. It's asparagus season and green sauce time... nothing of it on the menu

The good times are over. The Margarete was our favorite restaurant. But gradually things got worse. The map is diffuse. The service is hard to buy and we were not offered any dessert or coffee. For me, the fries and the burger don't belong on the menu where the main courses cost over €30. Too bad. But that's how it is with gastronomy in Frankfurt.

We had a reservation for the bistro terrace. When we arrived we were told it was a system error. They don't accept reservations outside. We could sit inside and the next free table outside would be for us. We never got a table outside. You could also tell that the staff generally had a very tense mood. The food came really quickly and was very tasty. However, our drinks didn't arrive until after 45 minutes, when we were almost finished eating.

The food was very tasty. The components are very well thought out and coordinated with each other. Unfortunately, my starter (fish) and my main course (gnocci/vegetarian) were a bit bland. My husband had better luck with his dishes, in which case both were a 10 out of 10. The price greatly exceeds the performance. Pricing a vegetarian dish at almost €40 is a bit high (even if they are homemade dumplings). The service was busy with a wedding that day, but unfortunately we had to wait a long time for our food (starters arrived after over an hour) and sat in front of our empty plates for a long time. Which was a shame because it was also our anniversary and we felt like second-class guests. Guests around us who came later also had their food before us.

I am a regular customer at the bistro and a big fan of the lunch menu. The quality of the cuisine is TOP, I wasn't disappointed once. The dishes at the Stammtisch always contain an excellent creative touch from Margarete, even if they are originally “classic” dishes. (and there is always a vegan option). The portions are generous and the lunch menu (15 EUR) is great value for money. The service is always very good and friendly.

The service is friendly and attentive, although occasionally it can take a little longer when the house is full. In terms of price, the restaurant is within the expected range for Frankfurt standards - not cheap, but appropriate given the quality. I don't know of a better place in Frankfurt. I've been coming here for years and I feel incredibly comfortable. First I would like to highlight and praise the service, which treats guests with such attention and care. The service is also very good. The food is consistently fantastic and I look forward to trying the new menu - so many positive surprises. Absolutely recommended!

There were five of us and it started out very confusing. The waiter came, brought a wine cooler with white wine that we had ordered and poured the whole bottle into five glasses, with the one guest at the table who had also ordered the wine just a little, like a tasting sip and among other things young man under 18 the wine glass is three quarters full. He explained with an ironic smile whether we would like to have a second bottle because he had misjudged and put the empty bottle upside down in the cooler with filled ice. The problem is that you don't drink the whole bottle of wine in one go before the food arrives - there are also drivers who want to dose their wine differently, especially since you don't pour three-quarters of a glass full to a young man. (Apart from that, a white wine should not get warm in the glass) We waited a very long time for the food and the bread plates that are served before the food with the knife for bread and butter were only cleared away at the end. People kept asking if we would like to order another bottle of wine and our glasses were still completely full - an unpleasant situation because we felt like alcoholics who couldn't get enough. We complained on several occasions that we didn't want to drink white wine warm like tea, people just laughed at it, then a soup came, I can only call it that, dry soup crumbs, then warm water in a cold, huge bowl Plate was spilled. Unfortunately, the tablespoons weren't at the table yet, which means we had to wait for the spoons. The soup was of course cold - but it's worth noting that the prices on this menu don't correspond to the service at all. After a very long wait, our main course finally arrived, although one dish was absolutely inedible. We were offered dessert even though only two people took the menu and they forgot that the other people hadn't ordered a menu. After a long wait, a new waitress was sent to us, who came to the table very ironically. She asked what do you want to drink and we replied we ordered a bottle of water half an hour ago. Please at least clear away the plates for the bread and butter so that we have space, in a strict tone of course. Then an even sterner, louder tone came back, asking what kind of problem we had. We had no choice but to ask the management. It's a shame, we were so looking forward to this evening, a nice way to start the New Year, and we had a terrible evening. The deer back was very expensive and was also cold and dry. The gnocchi, inedible. I hope we are an isolated case. The restaurant is very nicely decorated, but the staff is not able to handle such a standard. A wanted but not accomplished German haute cuisine. In fact, a lady who claimed to be the management came to the table with a serious tone about what the problem was, but after we explained she understood that we were completely right, she accommodated us with a price reduction, we felt We didn't feel good about it because we didn't want a discount, we just wanted good service with good food, yes that was professional and nice of her, unfortunately we went straight home in a bad mood and the evening was over. Reception is friendly, we have burgers on Wednesday 🍔 day. We have just had the time to order and yet we have accepted. Service was very nice and friendly. Atmosphere is okay, I think the evening is better. We were there around lunchtime. I was at first but was really good 👍

We got a table without a reservation thanks to the friendly waitress and were served politely. Unfortunately the food was very salty, the falfel was burnt and not edible. It's a shame, I've always been happy so far.

The Margarete always scores points for me, especially with the sofas at the head of the bar. A good place to be among people and yet undisturbed. The atmosphere is a bit like being in a very spacious living room and the wall of books invites you to browse. Update 2024: Margarete was my favorite shop for a long time (see above), but that has just completely changed. I went there again today for the first time after a long time. The cozy cafe area gave way to fancy restaurant signage. A frantic gentleman greeted me at the door. I asked what happened to the cafe. He replied curtly, “Restaurant!” I said I saw that, but politely asked again what happened to the cafe. He replied again “Restaurant!!”. I explained again that I knew something different and he replied that it must have been a long time ago. A missed opportunity. A friendly “We have changed our concept, but of course you can still get a coffee here.” ... might have persuaded me to leave it at that and not go to another cafe to write these lines. It's a shame, beautiful, loving Margarete... you remain a beautiful memory.

Very tasty food and great menus, plus an excellent wine selection. Combined with the modern and, in my opinion, homely atmosphere and the attentive service, it's a great location - whether for a quick lunch or a romantic dinner. We will still test breakfast. A little more expensive in the evening, but worth the money. The lunch menu is cheap at 15.

The service is incredibly friendly and very attentive. We sat outside in the courtyard and it was quite quiet and you didn't notice much of the traffic. Unfortunately, you have to go into the restaurant after 10 p.m. The food was super tasty. There is bread with whipped butter and a greeting from the kitchen. Also ideal for gluten intolerant people, as the menu is well marked with allergens and there was even separately packaged gluten-free bread. The staff and kitchen here are very knowledgeable. The food always came at the same time and the main course also came on pre-heated plates. The food is a bit more expensive, but the price-performance ratio is still very good. We'd love to come back. 🥰

There is still room for improvement. Reception was good, we were escorted straight outside without asking us if we would like to sit there. The aperitif Wilhelm spritz tops the spicy venus flop. Unfortunately, there wasn't that much flexibility when ordering the 3-course menu. I think it wouldn't have been a big problem to serve the intermediate course as a starter, even for an additional charge. The male service staff (with glasses and blonde hair) was more empathetic and sold better than their colleagues. At the end of August I found the amuse bouché as cream of asparagus soup to be very inappropriate. But it was okay. For the starter, the beef tartare with mustard was a bit over-seasoned and the cold melon soup also needed a bit more kick. The fried shrimp with the shell on is a bit difficult to eat with a spoon. The main course, however, was very good. The gooseberry and cucumber ice cream dessert sounded better than it actually was. The two components didn't really fit together. The lemon and meringue dessert, however, was very good. Wine prices are accordingly okay.

El martes en Margarete es un día de schnitzel. Vinimos alrededor de las 13 h y ya no había Schnizel para pedir. El personal dijo que hacen 35 porciones para ese día. Entiendo restaurante está haciendo planes a la hora de aprovisionar los ingredientes para el menue PERO restaurante como este NO DEBE quedarse sin menú diario OFERTA , sobre todo haciendo solo 35 porciones. La comida que pedimos no valía el dinero que pagamos. La ensalada de lado y el trozo de salmón a la parrilla cuestan 27 € cada uno? Almuerzo para dos con una copa 63 €. Por último, no había suficiente personal para atender la terraza. Pobre chica corría por toda la terraza mientras el joven camarero caminaba muy casualmente sin conocer el menú precisamente cuando le hice una pregunta.

Unfortunately, we couldn't get any more details out of the visibly stressed but neatly dressed service staff. We therefore refrained from ordering food and changed restaurants after consuming the cocktails we had stupidly ordered before.

Such a great restaurant. I got married in the back and we had the room for 20 people and the back terrace and it was perfect. Very cozy and pleasant atmosphere. They have a disabled-accessible toilet for wheelchair users and there are also parking options outside on the street. The staff were so incredibly nice and the food was vegan, fish or meat. We recommend.
