Steak was good and the burger meat was perfect There are negative points for the fries, which were just greasy, not even remotely crispy and without salt. There was also 1 thin slice of cheese on the burger and you have to pay 2 euros if you want something extra on it. I chose Champions and they came 6 small slices are really 2 euros too much.

So it's actually a great restaurant with a nice flair... everything fits... the burger also looked good except for the bun, which was that Harry part that you throw in the toaster... that's really unworthy of the burger because otherwise was really good .. Too bad

The food is super delicious. Prices are okay. But I don't give full marks for the service because it wasn't that good. The specially ordered sauce was missing, when asked they said sorry, of course it didn't come. The drinks order at the beginning was of course quick after which we were left high and dry. It definitely needs improvement.

Without any doubt the best Hamburger in Hamburg, I know this place since 2019 and since then I didn't find a better burger than this! As you can see from the pics, it's Burger and Bread and not the other way around! (burger bigger than the bread). The quality of the daily fresh meat, makes them possible to cook it from Rare up to well done! And believe me, it's really juicy! 😍 Another plus, do we wanna really discuss about their French fries? Real handcut potatoes, well fried, with crunchy peel around! Absolutely my favorite! The drinks are well selected as well, really good beers, and the Irish mangers cider for example, is a must for me! Best cider ever! The appetizer are really good too! Only problems sometimes the service can be a bit slow, if the place gets full, due to the fresh preparation of the food.

If you are looking for authentic Buffalo sauce, this is the place. The food was amazing, but that sauce… I couldn’t believe it. I have lived in Hamburg for four years and that’s how long it took me to be able to find THE sauce. I will be recommending it, coming back and probably won’t shut up about it for weeks. Also the service was great, the waitresses were super friendly and sweet.

I had a burger and the bread was just a toasty from Lidl or similar. It had absolutely nothing to do with a burger bread. The patty was a huge meatball and only half cooked. It was absolutely not satisfactory for the price!

A special and familiar place with household rolls on the table. 😄 The steaks are in the upper price range, but clearly worth their price. I ordered rare and just received rare, which is positive and not something you can always count on! I drank the Cabernet wine which was nice and powerful. My only small objection is that the waitress, who certainly did her best, was not completely familiar with the menu and the wines. She could have received a little better education.

Unfortunately not good. The citizen with a patty that is way too thick. The taste is also rather neutral. Plus soggy fries that were totally over fried and didn't taste like anything. Can't understand the many very good reviews. Three quarters of an hour passed between ordering and eating. And the restaurant was only a third full at that point. Too bad.

Nice burger restaurant. The burgers were delicious and can be ordered with English muffins or brioche. The patty is handmade but was far too thick for me. But as we all know, tastes are different.

The burger is advertised as "New York style", I was not aware of this particular type. The peculiar thing is that the hamburger is not flat, but is practically a ball of meat. They use English muffins as bread, which makes the sandwich very small, and in my opinion a little too expensive for what you get. The fries are fantastic though!

Here is a possible rating: --- **Disappointing experience** I have rarely had such a disappointing experience in a restaurant. Of the five dishes we ordered, one was completely forgotten and the fries we received were soggy and inedible. Everything was extremely greasy, making it almost impossible to enjoy. The salad was a mini portion and tasted unpleasantly of egg, which didn't fit at all. Unfortunately, the staff was also unfriendly and we didn't feel welcome. The ambience was equally uninviting and only made the entire experience more unpleasant. Overall it was a disappointment - I won't go here again.

In my previous review I was impressed with the burgers. These continue to maintain a good level. However, the fillet steak was a bit disappointing. However, the Caesar salad was a bitter disappointment: the chicken seemed extremely inferior and almost inedible. Such quality should actually be criticized. Of course, you don't go to a fast food restaurant primarily because of the salad. Nevertheless, the operation was an absolute no-go. She was extremely rude and didn't even react when she accidentally dropped an entire tray of glasses right next to us. Not even an apology or an inquiry as to whether we received anything followed. This is behavior that is unacceptable in the restaurant industry

Burger doesn't come with sauce, but the meat and brioche buns are damn good. Each burger is also available as a veggie version with Beyond Meat. The homemade fries are top notch!

An institution in Hamburg when it comes to burgers for years! We were always very satisfied, even if the burgers were a bit unconventional. There is something for every taste and the steaks and chicken nuggets are also amazing. The cheesecake is highly recommended for dessert. Always nice to be here!

The burgers are great, but unfortunately the service has deteriorated. There was no cutlery at the table and the waitress hardly looked at our drinks. Pay at the bar. Were there quite early on a Tuesday (7 p.m.), only saw one waitress.

I had a burger with cheddar. According to the menu, the patty was 250g. It was also a decent buzzer, but apart from the size, nothing particularly noticeable. The fries were very tasty. The service wasn't that good. When we tried to order food at the same time, the waitress rolled her eyes. Instead of being happy, find a way to save money. Overall she wasn't particularly friendly either. She simply placed the plates where it suited her best, not to the person who ordered the dish in question. Ambiance....well.....clean and tidy. It doesn't have to be more than that.

Two of us went for dinner and we ordered a hamburger, which comes with fries and a little salad. One of the best I've tried, highly recommended, they have a menu in Spanish and one of the waitresses also speaks Spanish.

Attention, the following information corresponds to my sole subjective opinion: The spice lies in the brevity: an up and down. Appetizers: -Chicken strips: 8/10 -Chicken wings “mild”: 7/10 -Chicken wings “hot”: 3/10 (much too hot for “medium hot” Main course: -The house burger “the bird”: 3/10 (unfortunately too salty and “way” too greasy… the burger bun was very tough, patty was way too soft and the burger “swam” in cheese and sauce - sorry but too much.) -French fries: Hands down - 11/10 (super tasty!) Service: - The orders were taken very late even though the restaurant was only about 1/3 full. - the two female service staff were unfortunately very stressed and unfortunately sometimes not particularly polite. Ambience: - The restaurant has interesting acoustics and it was “very loud”. - Typical diner atmosphere, very successful - The toilets (1/2 broken) were unfortunately not particularly clean - but the guests can primarily help. Conclusion: We'd love to come back for the fries.

We arrived 10 minutes before closing. There were only a couple of couples at the tables and a guy (who I understand was the boss) gave the go-ahead. We sat down and he turned on the kitchen to serve us. For us it was important to try the Hamburger there since it had been recommended to us. EVERYTHING GREAT THE TRUTH (Price, quantity, flavor, quality, attention).

Hello team from the bird hamburg, from the outside it's a lot of fun and with the right sociability, you could very well end up with you. We recommend that you prepare well for your visit and have some previous knowledge of American food. The beef and cheese sandwich is really cool, as are other dishes in this diner, very comfortable and the rustic furnishings allow a good flair to come through here. The only restaurant I know in Hamburg that serves American-style burgers.

It is the first time outside the US that someone has asked me if I want the meat inside of the hamburger rare, medium or well-done. The foods arrived a bit later than we expected but we loved the taste.

Cheap toasties from Aldi as a burger bun are a joke... Food and drinks took a long time. Fries were very tasty.

We were there with a larger group and when we made the reservation we were quickly shown to our seats. The drinks were brought to us after a short time, we had to wait for the food and then we all got it at the same time. We got almost all citizens and were asked whether we wanted the burgers well done or medium. It is a big mistake to eat burgers, i.e. minced meat, partially raw, as they must be completely heated to kill potential germs. I wanted my burger through a few and ordered it medium rare. The burger patty at The Bird is a very wide, large meat patty, so I ask the kitchen to pay more attention to preparing the meat more intensively. The core of my burger was medium rare and some of our burgers were still bloody and only partially eaten; they couldn't eat the rest of the patty. When the waitress came back to us to clear away, we mentioned it and were told that next time we could ask for them to be put back on the grill, but that was quite late at the time when you bit on the spots and those affected got short ones offered as compensation, which speaks for the service. But as a harsh criticism of the kitchen again, the minced meat needs to be prepared more carefully. Some of us became sick during our digestive walk and one person vomited, which was a major setback for the evening we had planned. Actually, we intended that if someone “pooped” or vomited it would be because they consumed too much alcohol and not because of a burger that came off the grill too quickly. The fries were good but more mayo for larger groups would be better.

Ordered the burger medium and received it raw, not edible. Because a nightcap was offered as compensation, there are two stars instead of one… The burger is not recommended!

I got the crispy chicken sandwich. It was perfectly cooked and delicious. It came with pickles and a huge portion of fries. They offer menus in German and English. We went with a large group and the food was too everyone's order and service quick for what you'd expect.

Unfortunately, the hoped-for taste explosion with the BBQ burger did not materialize. Either the barbecue sauce wasn't on the burger at all or the barbecue sauce didn't taste good. Unfortunately, some of the fries weren't crispy, but rather limp. The service was friendly and at least the drinks were delivered quickly.

The burger buns are COLD toasties, game over for me! The patty was a thick ball and the satat, which actually belongs to the citizen, was lying next to it to cover the plate. If I then have to ask for ketchup with my fries (in a burger shop), well... I unfortunately don't like the canteen at all.

The burger paddies are very very thick. Smash burgers are really in right now… that would be a recommendation. The chicken wings were delicious and my salad was ok too. The location is suitable for groups and perfect for grabbing something to eat before a neighborhood evening with friends. Very nice waitress!

When “The Bird” was still one of the few burger restaurants, people were still enthusiastic. Now it is being overtaken by the competition left and right. There are now much better addresses within walking distance, both in terms of the quality of the food and, above all, in terms of service and warmth. Service during three visits was once snooty, once listless and once overwhelmed. At least that's how it seemed. And please... All self-respecting burger restaurants now bake their own rolls or work with bakeries that have developed something special. You still build your burgers between a toasty. :(

Burger was very good, especially the beef was perfect. The ambience could be worked on.

Unfortunately only a digital menu, the drinks came quickly. The food took a long time to arrive, even though there weren't 6 tables there on Sunday evening. After the wait, the food was a complete disappointment except for the sandwich. We didn't touch the Caesar salad after two bites; it simply tasted very greasy. The Buffaloes too. Unfortunately, we were at least unable to complain or return the salad because no one asked during the meal whether we liked it. All in all rather disappointing, it's only worth it for the sandwich.

Overrated. The place has a slighlty south german feel to it. Service was totally overwhelmed by the sudden arrival of guests (on a friday evening, who would have thought) with our waitress getting a bit of a temper when we addressed the matter. The food wasnt great, the chicken tasted like it was all put in the fryer and just served without any seasoning or other taste incentives. All in all a pretty disappointing experience. The only plus was the other waitress who also took charge of the bar that evening and tried to help our waitress out but in a very friendly manner.

The burgers are okay. Meat patties could be tastier compared to other burger places. Fries tasty but not crispy. Delicious beer selection on tap.

Strong taste and diverse menu. Original American taste. The three of us were there on a Saturday evening and ate and drank very well. The chicken wings are great and I was particularly happy that there were also buffalo hot wings, which taste like they do in the USA and are rarely found in Germany. Perfect! The cheesesteak sandwich was also perfect. There are a lot of options for the burgers, but I didn't find it particularly successful. It was a small but very thick patty. Well fried, but I personally like it a little flatter and wider. These would also be easier to eat. But everything tasted OK. Only the fries could have been crispier. But I really liked the brilliant ending with the best cheesecake. We will be back.

Unfortunately our order was forgotten. After 45 minutes we asked. The drinks were on the house and the food came after another 30 minutes even though we were the only guests who got something to eat. Burgers were average good.

We waited a total of almost 1 1/2 hours for our food because our food was forgotten. In between, no one came to check that everything was going well. Food was okay, but definitely not worth the wait.

Even if the place looks a bit like a canteen, the burgers and the rest of the food have been good for many years. Unlike other stores, I like it. My absolute recommendation is the cheesecake - definitely share it, it's not a real bomb!

Ambiance not cozy...needs to be renovated...just little things like lamps or toilet...food was ok...service was rather casual...sometimes too casual...I ordered food with an extra request for cheese. ..unfortunately this was forgotten...I meant the food doesn't have to be made separately...just bring me a free drink to compensate...what do you bring: a slice of cheese on a plate!? Doesn't work at all... Burgers expensive and small...even if the meat might be better...still the price-performance ratio wasn't cool... Even if it's St.Pauli... you don't need anything more than a drink here...

The Bird is a burger lover's dream come true in Hamburg! Their burgers are simply out of this world, with juicy patties, flavorful toppings, and English muffin (which is their default bun). We're particularly fond of the Da Woiks, it's so incredibly delicious! And if burgers aren't your thing, they also have some amazing steaks, like their flank steak. It was incredibly juicy, tender, cooked to perfection, and didn't feel greasy at all. It's a must-try for any steak enthusiast. The portions are generous, and the staff is super friendly and attentive. We highly recommend making a reservation in advance, as the place gets pretty crowded, especially on weekends. To top off our incredible meal, we indulged in their signature cheesecake, and it was simply divine. Rich, creamy, and perfectly sweet, it was the perfect way to end our dining experience. Moin, leckerer fleischklops auf Toastie. Wie haben 3 Bürger medium bestellt und 3verschiedene garstufen bekommen, einer war leider komplett roh,den hätte man zwar nochmal raufmachen können, aber diejenige, hatte leider kein Appetit mehr. Die Bedienung war sehr nett, kleiner Gruß aus der Küche hatte gut getan,wenn wir schon den vollen Preis bezahlen. Trotzdem nett die Leute und deswegen ein Grund mal vorbeizuschauen.

Einfach ohne Worte...habe ich so noch nie erlebt. Habe ein Burger bestellt der komplett Roh angekommen ist. Habe direkt im Restaurant angerufen...die waren extrem frech und unfreundlich. Haben nur abgewiegelt und gesagt das das nicht sein kann, mich als Lügner dargestellt und aufgelegt. Danach nicht mehr erreichbar. Wolt hat mir das Essen netterweise ersetzt...aber es bleibt ein fader Nachgeschmack...werde da definitiv nie wieder bestellen.

Das essen war sehr gut. Bis auf die Fritten die echt nicht knusprig waren und etwas zu kalt waren. Das Steak war gut gegrillt und hätte etwas mehr Würze gebrauchen können. Die Steak Sauce war dafür echt köstlich. Der Laden ist sehr laut und könnte etwas gemütlicher sein. Und er ist etwas zu teuer. Bei der Lage überraschen die Preise aber nicht. Die Portionen sind sehr groß! Die Burger gewaltig!
