Ich habe lange nicht so unfreundliches Personal erlebt

Extrem unfreundlicher Kellner, der uns einen Tisch für das WM Spiel verweigert hat, weil wir um 22:30 Uhr keinen Burger mehr essen wollten. Würde da aus Prinzip nie wieder hingehen.

Wenn draußen Essen, dann hier. Super liebes Personal, tolles Essen mit sattmachenden Portionen zu sehr guten Preisen. Ich kann Doris Diner nur weiter empfehlen.

Wir waren gestern zu viert im Doris Diner essen und sind komplett begeistert. Absolut empfehlenswert und wir kommen definitiv wieder. Leckeres Essen zu fairen Preisen. Mein Steak kam, genau wie bestellt und auch die Burger sahen fantastisch aus und haben gut geschmeckt. Besonders hervorragend war der Service. Die Servicekraft (männlich ü 50) war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Wäre er nicht gewesen, hätten wir googlemaps vertraut und wäre statt 50 Min. 1,5 Stunden unterwegs nach Hause gewesen. Danke noch einmal dafür.

Was für ein toller Ort! Der Besitzer ist wirklich einer der nettesten Menschen, die ich je in einem Restaurant getroffen habe. Allein schon wegen der herzlichen und einladenden Atmosphäre lohnt sich ein Besuch! Der Chili-Burger war richtig lecker, der Schokoladenmilchshake ein Traum und der American Twister ist ein absolutes Muss! Ich bin mit einem richtig guten Gefühl gegangen. Es fühlte sich an, als würde mein Opa sich um mich kümmern. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Essen war sehr gut und der Service auch. Ambiente war in Ordnung, Toiletten etwas seltsam. Alles in allem war es in Ordnung und wir würden wieder kommen.

Durch den Schlemmerblock sind wir auf das Lokal aufmerksam geworden. Vom Service bis zum Essen alles top. Wir hatten den Caesar Salat und Tuna Sandwich. Beides sehr lecker und ausreichende Portionen. Würden wir in der Nähe wohnen, wären wir öfters hier.

Das scharfe Chili war sehr gut. Die Chicken Nuggets waren überhaupt nicht gut.

Es erinnerte mich sehr an die klassischen amerikanischen Gerichte, mit denen ich in Oklahoma aufgewachsen bin. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und ging auf meine Sonderwünsche ein.

Es war einfach wunderschön. Ich habe meine Schwiegereltern mitgebracht, die aus Oklahoma zu Besuch waren, und auch ihnen hat es sehr gut gefallen.

Ich liebe Doris Diner. Ich bin in diesem Lokal seit ca 14 Jahren Stammkundin. Das Essen hat sich wenig verändert und die gleichbleibende Qualität spricht mich sehr an. Ich liebe dieses Gefühl "jetzt den xy Burger von Doris Diner mit extra Speck und Spiegelei" zu haben, einen genauen Geschmack zu erinnern und dann exakt das auch erfüllt zu bekommen. Wir sind meistens mit mehreren Personen hier essen. Die Videoeisenplatte lohnt sich, die Burger sind alle lecker und die Milchshakes sind einfach großartig. Die Kinder bleiben auch nicht unversorgt: neben der Klassen Kinderkarte mit Pommes / Twisters und Chicken Nuggets (ganze Hähnchen Stücke!), sind die Backkartoffeln mit soure creme sehr zu empfehlen. Die Bedienung sowie der Inhaber sind ebenfalls sehr konstant seit Jahren die gleichen Menschen, die sich an einen erinnern und einen das Gefühl geben, ein Hauslokal zu besuchen...

Essen: Alle bis jetzt probierten Gerichte waren total lecker und für diesen Preis auch echt groß. Service: Alle, die hier arbeiten sind total freundlich und aufmerksam, man fühlt sich wohl und die Bezeichnung "der Kunde ist König" wird hier ernst genommen Ambiente: Ein klassisches amerikanisches Diner, wie man es aus dem TV kennt. Es ist nicht mehr alles neu, jedoch hat es in dieser Form Charme. Fazit: Wir als Familie finden es toll so wie es ist und wenn wir nach Hamburg kommen gehen wir jedes Mal hier essen. Leckeres Chili con Carne und eine solide Frozen Margarita.

Wir würden sehr nett empfangen und hervorragend bedient. Sehr nettes Personal. Unsere Burger (Bbq und Chicken) haben uns gut geschmeckt. Die Milchshakes und die Zimtpflaumen waren auch lecker.

Sehr freundlicher Service, gutes Frühstück und große Portionen für einen sehr fairen Preis. Ich komme gern wieder :)

Personal sehr freundlich und schöne atmosphere. Das essen ist leider nur mittelmäßig.

Portionen sind super, es hat alles sehr gut geschmeckt! Die selbstgemachten soßen sind individuell und super lecker, man wird gut satt, das Essen kam schnell. Der Kellner hat viele Gäste mit Namen begrüßt, es gibt wohl viele Stammkunden und das völlig zu Recht! Besonders zu empfehlen sind die Milchshakes. Die Diner- Atmosphäre ist sehr angenehm, das Verhältnis von Bank zum Tisch ist sehr Plus Size friendly! Bänke und Tische sind schön sauber.

Wir können Doris Diner weiterempfehlen. Sehr nettes Personal und eine entspannte Atmosphäre. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet, die Getränke natürlich auch. Die Portionen hatten eine gute Größe. Preis Leistung stimmt hier absolut. Zwischen all den sanierten Altbauten kommt dieses Diner sehr unerwartet. Eine schöne Überraschung.

Kurz gesagt: Ein fantastischer Ort, den man unbedingt besuchen sollte. Das Essen ist super 👍 Die Atmosphäre ist toll und einladend. Das Essen wird hervorragend serviert, die Preise sind fair (die Burger kosten um die 10-14 €) und vor allem ist alles köstlich. Ich empfehle besonders das Dessert, falls ihr noch Platz habt: Das Vanilleeis auf dem Milchshake oder zum Apfelkuchen ist ein Traum. Der Manager ist sehr freundlich. Fragt nach der scharfen Soße, falls ihr es gerne scharf mögt. Der hausgemachte Pfeffer ist *sehr* scharf, aber auch unglaublich aromatisch. Insgesamt ein tolles Erlebnis.

Es ist immer wieder schön hier essen zu gehen. Frische Zutaten, große Portionen und ein wahnsinnig toller Service! Egal wie voll der Laden ist, auf alles wird geachtet.

Eine sehr empfehlenswerte Lokalität! Wir waren mit Freunde dort 2 Tage hintereinander Frühstücken da es uns sehr gut geschmeckt hat. Das Personal konnte sich an uns erinnern und fragte ob wir das gleiche wie am Vortag trinken wollen. 10/10 für die Liebhaber von deftigen, aber auch süßen Frühstück.

Schöner und sauberer American Diner. Von der Einrichtung genauso wie man es sich vorstellt. Wenn die Jukebox noch funktionieren würde, wäre das sehr krass. Der Chef kümmert sich sehr sehr gut und herzlich um seine Gäste, ohne unangenehm aufdringlich zu sein. Wir hatten nur zwei Milkshakes und den Brownie. Beides war sehr sehr lecker. Ich kann vor allem den Blaubeershake "Blueboy" empfehlen!

The bar is good, the food is of decent quality, although the patty on my BBQ burger wasn't great. The portions are large and the prices are fair, but the service isn't very polite.

Unplanned, outpatient visit. Excellent service; the food arrived almost immediately after ordering, and the meal (steak with potato and sour cream) left nothing to be desired.

This is a sweet neighborhood restaurant designed like classic American roadside fast food joints. The service and food aren't bad. It's a good choice if you want a quick bite.

We came here on the recommendation of a passerby. The service was incredibly fast and friendly. We felt very comfortable. The curry was especially good.

Caution!!! We wanted to go out to eat today using our Schlemmerblock (a discount voucher booklet), which was valid until December 1st, 2025. We were rudely turned away by the owner, as it was supposedly expired. Never again!!!!

The food is delicious; you can tell they put a lot of effort into it. The service is also very friendly and attentive. It's worth it!

Delicious burgers super friendly service

Unfortunately, disappointing. The burgers were okay, and the Twister fries were delicious. However, the service was terrible. The server was friendly to regular customers, but incredibly rude to us. We had a discount voucher, but it wasn't accepted because the bill had already been printed and, supposedly, couldn't be reversed. The server became very loud and repeated herself constantly, which I found very unpleasant as a woman. We had also ordered several drinks, so I don't understand why they felt the need to be so rude.

This place saw a better days, portions are big, price is fair, but its absolutely zero taste innit.

There were four of us and we had no complaints; it was delicious and the price-performance ratio was okay.

This American bar is located in the popular Grindelviertel district. The prices are really reasonable. They also offer a few vegetarian dishes. €12.90 for a large burger with fries and coleslaw—you really can't complain. The dishes are also served very quickly and piping hot.

The owner is a very good host. The food is always consistently good. They also accommodate special requests outside of the menu.

The food was delicious and filling, even if the rump steak was a bit tough. The staff and service were all the more fabulous! The staff are truly lovely and take great care of their guests. The shakes are also phenomenal, especially the Blue Boy. Highly recommended!

A few days ago, we stopped by the Doris Diner with our gourmet menu and enjoyed two delicious meals. You can't expect a high-end restaurant at the Doris Diner, but we were thoroughly satisfied with the food, service, and everything else. Therefore, the 4-star rating isn't meant as a criticism of the Doris Diner, but simply to demonstrate that there are, of course, other dining options in the higher-end segment. We always enjoy coming back to the Doris Diner and will continue to do so in the future.

Doris Diner American food at the Grindelhof. Had breakfast here today, had the "John Wayne" breakfast: fried potatoes with a fried egg, toast, and jam. It was delicious, but I actually wanted an "English breakfast." Unfortunately, they don't have it on the menu, which is a shame! ☹ Perhaps they should offer it here? They also have American burgers and Mexican dishes. And a nice craft beer, in a restaurant like you'd expect from the USA. Friendly service, and good value for money.

Good value for money, but the fact that cricket is on TV all the time is a bit inappropriate

Unfortunately, the food doesn't taste good anymore. Every other burger joint in town offers better quality. It's a shame about this great restaurant. It looked like it had changed hands.

Unfortunately, I didn't like the burger – the patty seemed frozen to me, and the sauce tasted more like pure ketchup. The milkshake tasted okay, but it wasn't really cold and quickly became very thin. The fries and coleslaw were okay. I probably won't be back.

A local friend recommended the place to us. Visually, the place has a cozy American feel. The atmosphere is very pleasant, and the staff had a wonderfully calm and relaxed aura. The service was truly excellent; we were greeted and seated immediately. Both salads were delicious and generously garnished with tender chicken, and the garlic bread also impressed us. The bill came with a few sweets :) A definite recommendation for anyone looking for a relaxed meal!

This restaurant is absolutely fantastic. It also has a very nice outdoor area. Great location. Very friendly service. A varied menu, super tasty food at fair prices. We look forward to our next visit.

Super funny service, great atmosphere!

We come here for breakfast every now and then. Unbeatable value for money! A hearty and very good breakfast for two, along with several drinks, all for under €40. Friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere :-) There's also a nice outdoor area.

We spontaneously stopped by Doris Diner; the staff was very, very prompt and really nice. The food was good, but nothing special. However, it was very reasonably priced. Unfortunately, I didn't like the BBQ sauce.

Top authentic American diner with good service.

Essentially just a snack bar, but with rather steep prices. They advertise large portions, but in reality, it feels like you only get six fries with an €18 burger, which is nothing special. The owner pressures you to tip. The place is okay, but compared to other restaurants, it's below average.

Diner as it should be! What an amazing Diner dining experience! The vegan burger was absolutely delicious, the fries perfectly crispy, and even the spare ribs were fantastic. But what really made our visit special was the incredible service. The staff were so friendly, engaging, and even entertained our kids! Top it off with great drinks and a cool, authentic atmosphere, and you've got a recipe for a perfect night out. Highly recommend!

Not an absolute culinary highlight, but as a hangover breakfast it's exactly what you want. Different types of fries where you can really taste the differences. Burger was ok. I've definitely eaten worse ones, but also better ones. Milkshakes were really good and big! And every burger automatically came with a version of fries + coleslaw + ketchup and mayo. In addition, the service was very attentive and prompt. The ambience was ok, but unfortunately the interior has already seen its best days. Still, it was cool to sit in a booth like that. 🙂

Just visited Doris more or less by accident. It's a great place that delivers on the atmosphere and good, but what stands out the most is the kind waiters.

A super stylish shop, just like you would imagine an American diner to be. Very courteous service, the homemade lemonade, a dream. The food is also very convincing, so I have no choice but to give it top ratings.

Dear steak roaster, maybe you had a bad day, that's why I gave you a second try, unfortunately without success. Medium rare can be felt from the outside of a steak; it feels like the junction between the index finger and thumb. A raw steak, on the other hand, is very soft when tasted and very chewy in the guest's mouth. Apparently the good reviews are from the old owner, even if the service is very good, the food has to be good when you go out to eat.

An honest “Well”… we were in the mood for a good burger again and because of the good reviews we passed Otto’s and ended up here. The service was great! Everyone was super friendly, very welcoming, we generally felt very comfortable. Consistently Indian/Pakistani workforce. I had a bacon burger with curly fries. And unfortunately everything was frozen without exception. The patty was standard as you would expect from the supermarket, industrially produced and definitely not homemade. Unfortunately, it tasted so lifeless. The bacon was diced small and packed onto the patty with tomato sauce (!?). The taste was rather bland, the typical bacon aroma was unfortunately completely missing. And because of the very thin sauce, everything just ran out of the burger, so I scraped most of the topping off the plate with a fork. You couldn't go wrong with the fries with mayo. Food came quickly, but I wasn't surprised anymore. And it was the first time that my burger bun was not just warm, but actually hot. Due to the good weather we sat outside. Ambience OK, but nothing special. Right on the street, but there is little and moderate traffic. The furnishings inside looked very nice and like a classic US diner. Price/performance was ok, it was relatively cheap. Due to the lack of taste and no kitchen skills of my own, I honestly wouldn't go there again, because I can easily do it myself at home.

Unfortunately, the taste is not a highlight, but the burgers can still be improved a lot. Prices are quite humane. The local clientele is mixed from spontaneous couple visits to groups of friends to bar veterans who could already be counted as part of the inventory.

Burgers? Yes, but very tasty ones with lots of fresh ingredients. That's just what you'd expect from an American restaurant. The menu, however, offers much more – from great salads to chili con carne to pepper steak. No matter what we've tried so far, everything has been freshly prepared and very tasty. The service is friendly and very personal, and the decor is stylish, including a jukebox. A real recommendation, not just for a quick bite to eat, especially since the price-performance ratio is more than convincing.

Great atmosphere resembling the look of a US diner, extremely friendly owner who personally caters to all guests as well as their likes and dislikes, and finally a great selection of food and the best milkshakes in town (must try if you end up here). Definitely a place I would visit often.

I really liked cricket on the TV and I also liked the linguistic flexibility of the friendly waiter. The service was very quick, even at lunchtime, so we were able to satisfy our hunger quickly.
