The Hard Rock Cafe is definitely always worth a visit. Whether you're a collector of their shirts, pins, or glasses, enjoy the food, or appreciate the unique atmosphere, you won't regret it. Many people are probably thinking, "Hard Rock Cafe is just a chain, it's nothing special!" – but I have to disagree! Each cafe is unique, with distinctive details and collectibles from famous artists. They often offer special burgers at the different cafes. The Hamburg location really stands out, as it's right on the harbor and offers great outdoor seating in the summer. All in all, it's definitely recommended, whether you're a fan of the chain or not! We'll certainly be back – as we usually do when we're in Hamburg!

The food and service were really great 👍 Unfortunately, I have to deduct one star because only pop music was played during our visit, which doesn't quite meet my expectations for a Hard Rock Cafe.

We were there yesterday with friends who came to visit us. The service has gotten much worse! The guys don't speak or understand German or English! We all ordered dessert. The blonde girl with glasses who served us upstairs brought the brownie portions to three small girls—three enormous portions—without explaining that one portion was made for multiple people. I asked her why she didn't explain that the portions were so large and that it's her job and duty to warn us, but she arrogantly replied that she doesn't know how hungry girls are! I would have settled for a simple "Sorry," but this girl has forgotten her homework and kept arguing with me in terrible German! I asked to speak to her chef, but it wasn't possible! I will never return to a restaurant with such high prices and such terrible service! It's a shame no one manages these rude guys!

Great location! We only stopped in for a drink, so we can't comment on the food. We sat at the bar for a beer and an Irish Kiss. ​​Lovely ambiance, very friendly service, and a great atmosphere. We were back again for New Year's Eve, having ordered tickets online. What can I say... fantastic atmosphere, really great food (finger food), and the service was, as always, exceptionally lovely.

My wife and I attended the New Year's Eve party in 2025. The food, the service, the music – simply put, very good and highly recommended.

The potatoes are the best I've ever tasted, delicious.

We were seated on the first floor without any waiting time. The tables are so close together that the noise level is quite high, and you can easily overhear conversations at the next table. The service and food were good. The prices aren't low (probably due to the cost of living).

I ate at the Hard Rock Cafe Hamburg today and accidentally ordered the spicy Buffalo wings, which I couldn't eat. Our waiter Ali was incredibly friendly and replaced them with BBQ wings. Many thanks to Ali and the Hard Rock Cafe Hamburg team!

We stopped by spontaneously, but only had drinks, so I can't comment on the food. However, what I did see looked really good. The staff was very friendly. Nice location right by the Landungsbrücken (St. Pauli Piers).

The tables were too close together, so the waiter regularly bumped into my shoulders while serving other tables. A Coke cost over €5 for "400" ml, and it was poured over ice. The Big Cheeseburger tasted slightly different than the ones from the popular international chain. It was far too overpriced for what it was. The fried chicken sandwich was completely oversalted, had very little flavor, and the sauce was applied very sparingly. Also overpriced. The fries were okay. No sauce was provided because they charge an extra €1.50. On the positive side, they asked about allergies, and new staff members introduced themselves by name. In conclusion: You're paying for the Hard Rock name and the restaurant's location, not for the quality of the food. It's probably a good spot for tourists in Hamburg, being right by the harbor, but unfortunately, it was nothing more than average. The name makes it more expensive than it's worth.

The food was delicious, as you'd expect at any Hard Rock Cafe. Of course, it was a bit pricey. What we didn't like so much was the very loud atmosphere. The music was so loud that it was almost impossible to have a conversation. The place was packed; you should definitely make a reservation beforehand.

Great place just out of the way from everything

Great staff, fantastic atmosphere, delicious food, good music, and an extensive gluten-free menu. Because we were waiting for a table (it was a Saturday evening), we ended up in the rooftop bar, and what a stroke of luck! Great atmosphere and wonderful bartenders—we would have missed out if we'd gotten a table right away. We had an absolutely perfect evening; a huge thank you to all the staff!

Unfortunately, my visit to your bar/restaurant was very disappointing. The manager, a young woman named Alina, was extremely rude and showed no understanding of how to treat guests respectfully and professionally. Her demeanor, body language, and facial expression were consistently unfriendly and unprofessional. I find it hard to understand how someone with such social and communication deficiencies could have been appointed manager. Based on this experience, I will unfortunately not be visiting your restaurant again.

The food was awful. I ordered mac, chicken & cheese, and the chicken tasted like absolutely nothing. The only good things there were the burgers and fries. The staff were incredibly lovely, very friendly people. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment. The music wasn't rock either; it was almost all pop. My girlfriend ordered water and never received it, and she also didn't get any cutlery. I'm truly speechless, in the worst way. 💔✌️

As a customer of the Hard Rock Cafe in Hamburg, I am writing to express my deep concern about the behavior of one of your managers, Mr. Arturo Rey. During my visit, I witnessed him yelling at and humiliating kitchen staff, which caused me considerable discomfort and concern. I believe this behavior is inappropriate in a professional setting and should not be visible to customers. Based on my experience and interviews with some employees, this behavior does not appear to be an isolated incident but rather a recurring one, and it is damaging the relationship with employees. It is important to emphasize that education and mutual respect are fundamental to a safe and professional work environment. While I feel it is important to document my experience, I have decided not to send this message officially, as I anticipate that HR may not take direct action. Nevertheless, I wish to document my observations and my concerns as a customer, since such situations negatively impact both the company's image and the well-being of its employees.

A fun hard rock café to go to. Not the prettiest, but still fine. The food is also good, and the service was excellent.

A very nice venue, in the familiar and established style. Unfortunately, it gets very crowded at certain times. Everything else is in perfect order.

Great experience overall. Waiters took great care of us and helped us receive and be able to finish our meals in time to take a boat trip nearby.

We had reserved a table online and were shown to it immediately at our reserved time without any waiting. It was very busy, so I can imagine that there might be a wait without a reservation. The service was very good, friendly, and attentive. The food arrived quickly and tasted good. However, I've had significantly better burgers elsewhere for less money. The fries were very good. The mayo was tasty, but I thought the extra €1.50 was expensive. I found the music playing to be very loud. At times, we had difficulty having a conversation.

We spontaneously decided to have lunch there today and were quite satisfied. The food was good, if not exceptional, the service was prompt and very friendly, and the restaurant by the Elbe River is also very nice. So why not 5 stars? Firstly, the food is of a good standard, but it lacked that certain something. Secondly, the seating was quite cramped, and it was very noisy. So noisy, in fact, that it was almost impossible to have a conversation at the table. I've experienced much better at other Hard Rock Cafes. Nevertheless, it's worth a visit!

As always, we bought T-shirts for the whole family 😂 We didn't actually go into the cafe itself. It wasn't that impressive in Berlin either. We were greeted and served in English in Berlin. That's not necessary in Germany. It's nice that they can communicate with foreigners like that, but as a German, I'd like to be addressed in my native language in Germany.

We've never had such a disgusting experience in any restaurant. Two of us ordered the Caesar salad: the price was high, the portion tiny. On top of that, the chicken on both plates was undercooked, as you can see in the photo. It was disgusting. The burger was also sloppily prepared, the salad was stale and inedible, as you can see in the photo. When we spoke to the waiter, he claimed he'd worked there for years and had never experienced anything like it (yeah, right!). Just five minutes later, another guest sent his plate back because his meat was half-raw. Absolutely appalling! Furthermore, there's no organization whatsoever: first, we were stood up because the table was reserved. Then other guests arrived and were also stood up – unlike us, they were smart enough to leave because they found it outrageous. The music was also unnecessarily loud, but they finally turned it down eventually. The only good thing was that the two salads were removed from the bill, which is only right! Ugh!

This was the worst and best service I've ever had at any Hard Rock Cafe in the world. On October 5th, 2025, I visited my 10th HRC. First, we went to the Rock Shop – I'm a collector, I have over 50 items – and this was the first one where we didn't get any discounts, even though I was wearing an HRC Amsterdam shirt and cap. We bought several items, but my card was declined because I hadn't authorized international purchases. As soon as I got my money, I was met with extreme prejudice; the cashier held my purchases as if I didn't have any money. I only bought the items because I like Hard Rock Cafe, but the service was terrible. I paid and went to the restaurant. A blonde woman at the entrance said it was full and there was no space. But there was an empty table, so I went in and sat down. To my astonishment, I was kicked out, yelled at, and told to leave the table. We left immediately! But we decided to go to the Rooftop, and again, to my astonishment, there were several empty seats. There, we received the best service of all. Henrique, a nice Portuguese guy, has the true spirit of HRC, great service, great suggestions, he really provided an incredible experience. It's sad to know that HRC allows the person at the door, greeting people, to act with such discrimination, xenophobia and prejudice. Wait, Henrique and the food, 5 stars. For those two attendants, store and reception, a score of 0. As we were leaving, the blonde even smiled at us and I immediately rejected her smile and signaled that her service was terrible. Would I go back? I don't intend to.

A great place to have a drink and enjoy the atmosphere! However I wouldn’t recommend the food. We had classic nachos plate as a starter and beef fajita and messi chicken sandwich the nachos were good and the portions were big, but the beef fajita and the burger were below average, the meat of both beef and chicken was so hard and tasteless and the burger didn’t look anything like the picture on the menu. We were disappointed in the food.

The food arrived a bit too quickly. It felt like 10 minutes after ordering for 4 people.

The place is incredibly sterile for a "rock cafe," somewhere between a football betting shop and Ikea. Prices for drinks and food are as high as at big concerts (around €7 for a beer). I paid €25 for a tiny "Big Cheese" burger that didn't even taste that great. The fries came in a silly little metal cup, that was it. Cheap 80s pop videos blare from the wall on cheap flat screens (betting shop style). The low-wage waitress was friendly, but they announced last call at 9:25 pm, probably union-organized. A tip for all you Instagrammers: just take your selfie outside the place; it saves time and money.

The cola and the Spezi were extremely watery and undrinkable! The meat was lumpy and the portions were very small; they weren't enough for the average person. However, the dishes themselves weren't extremely bad.

You absolutely have to make a reservation. The place is always packed. I had the grilled salmon. The salmon was delicious. But the green beans were cold and dry. The mashed potatoes were also cold and dry. The waiter offered to remove them from the bill, but didn't. The B-52 shot was tasty, but expensive at over €7. I also thought the salmon with the cold and dry sides was expensive at €29.

I was genuinely surprised and impressed. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food selection perfectly suited the restaurant's character. It's centrally located with a good view of the harbor. Prices are reasonable. Dog-friendly! There are even two bowls of water waiting for you at the entrance.

I was really disappointed today. I ordered my beloved baby back ribs, and the first time they arrived cold, and after I complained, they were lukewarm. I wasn't the only one who complained. I should have sent them back, but I started eating them anyway. Unfortunately, the bottom ribs were still so cold that I lost my appetite and didn't want any more. After complaining, they deducted about €5 from the €30 charge. I'm done with HR Hamburg. 🤷🏼

Our visit to the Hard Rock Cafe Hamburg was simply fantastic – and that's mainly thanks to Mile! From the very first moment, he impressed us with his positive energy, attentiveness, and humor. You can immediately tell that he loves his job and is passionate about what he does. Mile not only gave us excellent advice but also made sure we felt completely comfortable the entire time. His recommendations for drinks and food were top-notch, and even small extra requests were fulfilled with a smile. That's how service should be everywhere! The Hard Rock Cafe Hamburg already has a great atmosphere, but Mile truly elevates the experience to another level. It's rare to experience such warm, professional, and genuine service. The place is actually really cool, but the prices are outrageous and the food used to be much better. Even the club sandwich, which used to be a real insider tip, is gone. What a shame. The guys and girls on the front of house are still just as cool as ever, of course. But thankfully, they're cool everywhere in the world.

One of the worst Hard Rock Cafes I've ever visited.

I often visit Rock Shops to continue my t-shirt collection, which in Hamburg reached number 75. Actually, I bought two t-shirts with Jva's Spanish-speaking customer service for payment, and the attendant tried to talk to the manager about getting me a gift, which is common for collectors who wear the t-shirts they already own, thus promoting the brand for free. But since it was one of the busiest stores I visited in the area, I don't think this made a difference to them. The management didn't even pay us any attention. And we had to endure the embarrassment of the attendant. I usually take dozens of photos at the establishment when we go to the restaurant, but I was so frustrated that I didn't even want to take one. In fact, we ended up eating at Five Guys, where the service was amazing, and we got a souvenir glass just for being there.

Up on the terrace, you get a fantastic view. The service was so-so, even though it wasn't that busy. Unfortunately, the food wasn't anything special, and the price was on the higher side. It feels like you're paying a tenner just for the name. So, of course, everyone has to decide for themselves whether it's worth it.

The drinks selection is really good, although there were no non-alcoholic options. The cocktails themselves could have been presented more beautifully—unfortunately, they weren't very pleasing to the eye. The food was very tasty, but unfortunately not very filling. We were two petite girls, and we had to find something to eat after our visit. Unfortunately, there's no elevator to the restroom on the ground floor...

Just had dinner there. Shrimp appetizer. €18! They were very tasty, but overpriced at €18. I had the Messie Chicken Burger/sandwich. It was tasty, but only lukewarm and tiny compared to the picture on the menu. It's really not worth the money. Sorry. Our server, Jakop, went above and beyond. Attentive, friendly, and courteous, top notch. When the manager came over to ask and I said that the burger was really tiny, she just said, "But the main thing is that it tastes good." Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio isn't right.
