Montgomery Champs in Hamburg

Too much mass processing, otherwise typical American sports and food restaurant. Food was great!

This restaurant used to be good but as many other reviews point out it is now overpriced for at best mediocre food. The ribs were dry and the vegetarian burger was drowned in coleslaw and fell apart. We will not come back for at least a while...

We had reserved in advance, which I can only recommend, as the Champs is often very well booked. The food was very tasty and all special requests were fulfilled. Our waitress (Ma...) was great, very attentive and even allowed us to stay longer, even though we only had the table until 8 p.m. I only deducted one star for the ambience because it was very loud at the table, but that was due to the fact that all tables were completely booked out. Drinks were also very good and special requests were also possible here. Thanks to the Champs team

Cool sports bar with a very large selection of typical US dishes. Very good for a meeting with friends, less suitable for a date because of the sports broadcasts8.

Very good American food that I can completely recommend. From little things to mountains of meat. The food was at the table very quickly for everyone at the same time. If you like the charm of a sports bar, this is the right place for you. There are TVs in every corner showing the latest sports programs, the decoration is completely determined by all sports and the volume is of course a little higher. We always like to come back...

We ate here with several people and overall everyone was satisfied. Unfortunately, my steak was cooked well over medium and therefore tasted like leather. The ribs were very tender and tasty. The service was also friendly and tried hard, even if one or two drinks were forgotten. The portions are very large and therefore expensive. A little over the top for my taste but still just within the limit. You can do it, but you don't have to.

Authentic American food in an American sports bar atmosphere. There are many local beers (better than the American ones😉). I drove Route 66 last year and felt transported there again.

We had burgers and ribs and an appetizer. Starter was ok Burger was TK petty firm and dry Ribs were disgusting: without it being mentioned on the menu, the meat is smoked in the Kassler style and not pure fresh meat. I had honey garlic sauce with it. The ribs were dry and not really cooked through. I complained about it and quickly got new ones. Even worse, they were totally dry and sweet as if they were soaked in sugar water. Overall, the price/performance ratio is not right at all. The advertised taste and freshness as described on the homepage is simply missing in all dishes. I wouldn't recommend it

Ok, it's not very common to order fish in a place like this, but it wasn't really edible, just dry and the vegetables were way too fatty, and there was too long of a wait for drinks

Simply fantastic! Montgomery Champs is our absolute favorite restaurant - we go there regularly and it never gets boring. The quality of the food is consistently excellent, the atmosphere is incredibly pleasant, and the service is always friendly and attentive. Whether for a cozy evening or a meeting with friends, Montgomery Champs impresses every time. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

A piece of America in Hamburg. I ate really good spare ribs. The burgers were also delicious. Relaxed atmosphere. Also good with children.

All in all good. Only the prices are totally exorbitant. For the prices I can gorge myself up to 3 times somewhere else.

Riesenladen, als ich wieder mal da war, war wenig los. Familien, die ihre Kids nachmittags mit American Food abfüllen. Die Speisekarte ist umfangreich, aber eigentlich ist alles Hack, Ribs oder Steak. Hohe Burgerdichte. Das Essen ist insgesamt eher Convenience als frisch gekocht, die Küche dürfte große Gefriertruhen haben. Mein Essen war ganz ok, der Salat war allerdings nicht angemacht, Das Salatmayonnaise-Euter der Firma Heinz ist da auch kein Ersatz, finde ich. All-In-Tortilla war ok, leckeres Steak, aber das Pulled Something schmeckt wie drei Tage alter Schweinebraten. Super-Bier (Newcastle Brown Ale!) und der nette Service retten meine Bewertung.

Felix Cheeseburger of the Universe, very tasty. The meat patty was a bit too thick for me personally. But this is a matter of taste. I didn't need a side dish. Service was super nice.

Unfortunately, in contrast to 10-20 years ago, the quality feels like it decreases a little every year. Portions are getting smaller and smaller, every extra has to be booked and the prices are going through the roof. Yes, everything will be more expensive, but then at least the quality has to be consistent, but that's not the case. You can still eat well there, but not once a week like before.

After 3 visits it’s time to write a review: parking lot is small and fills quickly, you’ll need reservations during dinner hours. American style bar & restaurant with great beer on tap and lots of TVs that show current sports events. Service is hit or miss, depending on individual servers. Plenty of food choices, most with meat, such as burgers/ ribs/ chicken wings/ steak/ pizzas. Portions are generous, esp when you choose baked potato dishes. Food arrives hot and well presented. Prices are high! A burger without add-ons is Euro 20-26, add ons are Euro 8-10 … French fries for more than 8 Euros is steep! With a drink it’s at least Euro 40 per person. Alas, the place is packed and popular but we’d choose somewhere different in the future.

Very nice restaurant with good food and a large selection of food and drinks. We can particularly recommend the spare ribs and the large selection of different types of beer. The service was nice and polite. A reservation is essential. It is very difficult to get a place spontaneously. There is a parking space, but you can also easily get here using public transport. Price-performance ratio is appropriate for the quality.

Now we were here with our regulars' table. The food was very tasty with reasonable prices. The girl was also just great and a lot of fun. Always my pleasure !!!

The classic when it comes to ribs, wings etc

We were there spontaneously with a larger group. A seat was found for us and we were served very politely and attentively. Since there were some children there, our table wasn't the quietest and a drink was also spread around the table. The service staff were nevertheless consistently friendly. The food was rich and tasty. The children's portions are also very generous.

I have been visiting Montgomery Champs for years and always look forward to visiting again. The restaurant is a typically American sports bar. Here you can get a good view of the sports being broadcast live from every angle. As a starter, the three of us shared nachos with cheese gratin, which were very tasty. As a main course, different dishes such as chicken wings (700g) or burgers were ordered! Since the portions are really not small, it is usually not necessary to order your own side dish, but rather to share one or two side dishes with several people. As expected, all dishes were delicious! For dessert, ordering the Pizza Cookie with vanilla ice cream is definitely a must. Warm fluffy cookie dough with delicious ice cream. The perfect combination of warm and cold. This dessert is simply awesome! As always, we had a great evening with great live sport and delicious food. If you really want to eat American food, you definitely have to come here! However, it is important to make a reservation in advance as the restaurant is always very busy. We'll definitely be back!

What's particularly great is that the quality remains constant over the years. No matter when we go, it is always a good choice. We're always happy to come back!

We were in the restaurant with 4 adults. I had eaten in this restaurant several times in the past and was actually full of anticipation. Unfortunately, I and we were bitterly disappointed. On the one hand, the service was very intrusive. You had the feeling that you were being paid based on sales .Then the prices .Completely excessive for what you get. For example, you have to order side dishes for burgers separately, so you're easily over 20€ for a burger with fries. We had starters and main courses and none of them tasted good. Completely tasteless. We didn't even finish what was unusual for us. The price-performance ratio wasn't right at all. The food wasn't good and the service wasn't good either. It's a shame! I was so happy. So you can say: never again

Unfortunately, in my opinion, the quality of the food has decreased somewhat. Service is friendly, helpful and very accommodating. The ambience is great, you feel like you're in an American restaurant with everything that goes with it.

Very cool facility. . . but the food is also very good. Unfortunately often full. . . Better to reserve in advance. . . The parking space is also limited. The restaurant is right at the AKN station.

It's been a long time since we've been to Champs. What can I say? Really disappointing! So expensive, so bad and so terribly unfriendly. We had to pass our plates around the table ourselves because the waitress (I don't know) was too lazy?! Or was the path too far? A meat dish for €31.90 plus fries for €5.90 and garlic bread for €4.50? A MAIN DISH costs over €40. It's gotten really crazy. It was just so incredibly warm inside. How about the prices with air conditioning? Just like it would be American. We're just really disappointed and definitely won't be coming back. You become poor, have to set the table yourself and you also sweat.

There are authentic American spareribs etc. Almost every visit so far It was great, only on absolute “peak days” (Easter, Christmas week…) can there be a bit of a problem, but only small things. Otherwise always worth a visit.

The Champs is special, popular and well attended. Sometimes the large parking lot directly at the restaurant is not enough. Prices have gone up a bit, but in our opinion they correspond to the performance offered

So the food was great, I can only recommend the "Mac & Cheese" burger. The service was good, very friendly and I also liked the ambience. It's a bit loud but that's normal due to the many guests and that's all that speaks for itself Montgomery Champs

My friends and I had the goal of watching the Olympics in a sports bar. The games were shown but without sound. This is probably the requirement for all sporting events outside of HSV and Pauli. For someone like me who has lived in the USA for a long time and knows American sports bars, it is of course absolutely incomprehensible. As a big football and basketball fan, despite the need to watch sporting events in large groups, I will no longer be coming back because Champs does not meet the expectations of a sports bar. Too bad.

A great atmosphere and incredibly friendly staff, you feel welcome here. The food is absolutely American, but, as in many restaurants, the price-performance ratio is marginal. A main course that doesn't include a filling side dish can easily cost over €30. Where this will lead, I have no idea!

It's been great for years... we and our children were thrilled... again and again! As our boys say: “a 10 out of 10”

The Champs is divided into a bar area and the restaurant. Of course you can order the same thing in both. Since it is a sports bar, there are large and small TVs everywhere. The atmosphere is cool with the many jerseys, helmets, etc. The service is very attentive and the restaurant is at maximum capacity. The burgers are delicious, I think the “tortilla salad” is great. My son had the "Wrecking Ball" and he loved it. I think the bar/restaurant is something for young and old, sports enthusiasts anyway, and anyone who has been there will definitely come back.

If you like burgers or spare ribs, then you've come to the right place ;)

Today, 2 years later, Champs again. Simply a class of its own - see text below 👍👍👍. (Last ate here 22 years ago. Celebrated my son's 21st birthday today. Ribs (350g) & wings (400g) with honey garlic sauce. So tasty and more than enough for the average eater. Service very polite and attentive. PS: Table received immediately without reservation (4 people).

It would be 5 stars if I didn't have to agree with previous reviews: the price level is simply far too high. All burgers start at just under €20, plus side dishes that vary from €6-9. That doesn't match the quality (although the quality is completely appropriate for a US-inspired sports restaurant... just not the prices).

I would particularly like to mention the service.

It didn't blow me away (the pulled pork would have needed a little more time) but Mika's great service pulled it out of the water.
