First off, I worked as a cook for 30 years myself, and my trainer always said, "Only serve food that you would eat yourself!" I would recommend you reconsider the gyros, because even after the first one was dried out, the second one was... I have no idea where it came from, but it wasn't from the spit or the pan, so I left it untouched! (The smell alone put me off.) It would be better to remove something from the menu in winter than to serve it like that! The service was good, and I think the server was visibly embarrassed! Nevertheless, the dish was completely unacceptable; they could have at least offered something for dessert or something! But anyway, we'll still come back to give it a second chance!

I do not recommend it! The worst Greek restaurant I've ever been to. The food was very unappetizing.

Unfortunately, we didn't enjoy our visit. The starter salad was very basic – basically just a few lettuce leaves with some dressing. The gyros was okay, but the quality of the rest of the meat left much to be desired. The service was friendly, but overall the food didn't impress us. It was sadly our most disappointing experience at a Greek restaurant so far, and we wouldn't be returning.

We ate there twice within three days. But simply saying we ate would be a massive understatement. It was more like a feast and a true indulgence. The service was incredibly friendly, and absolutely nothing was lacking. I honestly don't know why I'm missing a star from this review. I wanted to change it, but I'd already submitted it. 😉 Maybe I'll stop by in a few days and personally deliver the fifth star for the ambiance. If you're looking for a good laugh, craving a cryotherapy experience, and don't mind that the service looks like it's just fallen out of a parallel universe – then head to the Greek restaurant in Scharbeutz. We certainly had an epic, albeit unintentionally hilarious, time.

We wanted to go out for a nice meal with friends... unfortunately, the food was a huge disappointment. The gyros was swimming in grease (not from the spit), lukewarm, and a very small portion. We're used to better. The owner apologized for the food and gave us a voucher for next time, but the evening was still ruined.

I stopped by spontaneously and went in. The service was quick, and we were given an ouzo beforehand. (Delicious) The food was plentiful and delicious. Location / staff / prices / top notch. I'd be happy to go back.

Unbeatable staff friendly courteous top

Very good, fast, and friendly service. The food was okay. The portion was sufficient.

Rude and arrogant staff with a macho attitude. When we were there, almost the entire terrace was empty, and we wanted to have a drink and wait for our friends who were touring the house. We were then asked several times if we wanted to order something to eat. We repeatedly declined. Then a completely overly overly rude waiter approached us and asked if we just wanted to play on our phones the whole time or if we finally wanted to order something to eat. I find this behavior a disgrace. If the restaurant had been full, we would have been able to understand it. When we left the restaurant, we even had to endure laughter from the waiter. Never again and I do not recommend it.

I should have known. The one-star reviews were there, black on white. But no, I thought, "Oh come on, souvlaki, gyros, feta, bifteki—what could possibly go wrong?" The answer: everything. The souvlaki was as dry as the Gobi Desert, the gyros tasted like it had seen better days in a previous life. The feta seemed offended that it had to end up there, of all places, and the bifteki... let's just say: chipboard has more juice. Occasionally, the thought occurred to me: Maybe this is simply a very radical detox concept—zero enjoyment, a lot of money, maximum learning effect. At least it did achieve one thing: From now on, I'll trust the one-star reviews blindly. But hey, the next stupid tourist will get it.

Very friendly and attentive staff. The food was plentiful and delicious. We were also treated to three free ouzos.

This was our first time there, even though we live almost around the corner, and we'll be back. The prices are, as usual, in the region, but we also found the portions to be good. (Gyro fries, Gyro Metaxa, and Greek salad) The fries were crispy, the meat flavorful, and the salad was fresh and crisp. The seating inside is a bit too close for my taste. But otherwise, everything was wonderful.

I was unfortunately quite disappointed with my visit. The food didn't live up to my expectations. The dishes weren't prepared with much care, and some of the meat was still raw. The fries were soggy and not crispy at all. The quality of the ingredients also didn't seem particularly high, as some of the salad was rotten. In my opinion, the value for money isn't right at all. You pay a lot of money for bad food. It's a shame, I had expected much more, as I had ordered last year and the food was relatively good. I won't be ordering here again.

Unfortunately, you don't get much for your money at this restaurant. Small portions, dry meat, and few side dishes, overpriced. The staff is friendly, but that doesn't make it any better. I won't be going back.

The food was very good and plentiful. The service was quick and friendly. The restrooms needed a little love, but they were usable.

We were warmly welcomed like regulars, even though it was our first time there. Our table on the terrace in the evening sun was lovely. The food was absolutely fantastic; we were all stuffed and satisfied. The waiters are extremely friendly and attentive, always with a quick joke on their lips. If our vacation weren't almost over, this would be our regular restaurant in Scharbeutz.

I have never eaten such bad Greek food

2 people. June 22nd. Order placed. Food arrived after 7 minutes. No wonder it tasted of nothing, the meat was dry and tough, and the beer was rather lukewarm. A dreary atmosphere. Unfriendly service. A thoroughly enjoyable evening! We actually really enjoy Greek food. We've never experienced anything nearly as bad as this. After this, we need a longer break...

We were there spontaneously today with 3 people, great welcome, were warmly welcomed, food was great and we sat comfortably in the beer garden, we will definitely be back, thanks to the whole staff 👍

Wir waren zum zweiten Mal dort, nachdem wir 2021 während Corona schon mal dort gewesen waren. Damals hatten wir etwas länger auf das Essen warten müssen. Die Wartezeit wurde aber mit ausreichend Ouzo versüßt. Dieses Mal wurden wir wieder nett empfangen, das Essen war lecker und die Portion ausreichend. Die Atmosphäre war locker. Wir mussten auch nicht lange warten. Mehr kann man von einem guten Griechen nicht erwarten.

Never before have I eaten so modestly at a Greek restaurant. The portions were quite modest, and my taste buds weren't even bothered—salt and pepper had to suffice. It was nothing.

High prices, below-average quality. The only consolation was the house ouzo.

We got a seat spontaneously :) It was outside but it was the best decision :) The waiter tried hard but was still often cheeky with his manner... The food came relatively quickly but unfortunately we had to send two meals back because the gyro was raw and mushy.. :( And the fries weren't cooked well... The portions are really ridiculous. We didn't get full and to top it off, it was over €21 which was really crazy... Unfortunately, this was the worst Greek restaurant we've ever been to.

Unfortunately, the food wasn't good. 2 x chicken with rice and sauce was good. The gyros and the mixed meat platters with fries and rice were very small and of poor quality. Once, we had to remake the gyro because it was almost raw. Unfortunately, a huge, expensive disappointment.

We ate there on May 1st, 2025. It was announced to us that lamb fillet, chicken fillet, bread, fries and red soda were out. After a very long wait we finally got our drinks and after another wait our food. It wasn't just like this for us, but also for other guests, where special guests (most likely regular guests) had everything on the table within 15 minutes. We have eaten there several times every year in Scharbeutz, but this time it was anything but good. Then there was the comment from the boss in front of all the guests after some complained: “That doesn’t bother me!” This way is not justifiable.

The food was tasty but the portions were too small for the price. Funnily enough, the food came very quickly too! At first we were expecting the salad. However, it was on the plate of the main course.

It's more of a chip shop with restaurant prices. The waiters are nice and attentive, the food is below average. Of course we have eaten Greek many times. Unfortunately, the taste of what was served here was just so-so. Price/performance unfortunately only rips off tourists. No recommendation from us.

I was in Scharbeutz and happened to pass the Taverna Rhodes and stopped in there. You were warmly welcomed by the owner and you barely sat down; you were greeted with a delicious cold ouzo. The food was excellent and the service was terrific. At the end there was also an ouzo and an espresso on the house. What a great host. I would happily recommend a restaurant like this and would love to come back to eat!

Absolutely avoid! Tourist rip-off in the early season / actually not a restaurant but a gyro delivery service that plays restaurant / delivery drivers sit at the guest tables and play with their cell phones / 1 stressed waiter serves everyone / boss sits at the entrance and monitors his staff / got 2 almost unseasoned mini souflaki skewers, instead of grilled they were only pale fried, with small piles of iceberg lettuce and 1 tablespoon full of watery tomato rice at an extremely ambitious price / the food was so bad that I only tried it briefly / the barely touched food didn't bother the waiter and he cleared it away without a word after paying / much of the menu couldn't be ordered because it wasn't in stock / overall a shame for the other mostly good and hospitable Greek restaurants.

We ordered online for pickup. We were surprised that we didn't receive any information for 40 minutes about when we could pick up the food. Then we called and asked about the status. We were told “Why didn’t you call?” Yes, because you could order it online 😅 We had a grill plate and gyros etc. The food is not edible. This has absolutely nothing to do with Greek food, but with convenience food. We both have stomach ache and are absolutely sick. It's a shame for the price at over €20 per meal!

Hello, we spontaneously went out to eat and of course read the reviews beforehand. The route to the restaurant from the hotel was of course also crucial, but that's irrelevant. We got a table, our order was taken quickly, drinks and food arrived relatively quickly. As a result, we had fresh food, a gyro which was one of the best I've ever eaten, not dry, not dripping with fat, but slightly juicy, the Suzuki was also very good, the fries were crispy. That's how it should be!! It was tasty and we'll be back.

We have never had such bad Greek food as in this restaurant. The noise level in this location was extreme because all the tables were very close together and a private party had taken place there that evening. It couldn't be compared with comfort. To eat, the first thing that was alcohol-free was the Hefe Weizen. My husband then ordered a Hefe Weizen with alcohol and received a normal beer at the table! The portions we ordered were far too small for the price quoted. The bifteki and souvlaki were basically unseasoned and my husband's mini lamb chop was also unseasoned and consisted mostly of just fat. My husband was the first to finish his meal and his plate was cleared, and of course the waiter wanted to clear my plate too, even though I was still in the middle of eating!!! We would have expected high quality from this location of the restaurant. unfortunately none. Further recommendation.

We walked past this rather inconspicuous restaurant and spontaneously decided to eat there. We are very glad we stopped there! The food was very tasty, the staff was very friendly and the price-performance ratio was also good. I can recommend it!

Simply super tasty, hospitable and child-friendly staff. How you can still be so funny and on the ball in the off-season and after these crises is simply unbelievable. We ate here with the whole family and were not disappointed. Very nice and attentive boss and totally friendly service. The food was very tasty and sufficiently sized. What more could you want? If you want to go for Greek food a little away from the promenade, you're in good hands here.

We were there today and unfortunately have to say that it is the worst Greek restaurant we have ever been to. The gyro was flaky and not crispy as it should be, the bifteki was a strange pink color, apparently overloaded with paprika spice and the suvlaki was unsurpassed in terms of tastelessness. The rice was also a complete tomato paste mush. We had a sheep's cheese cream beforehand which was good but unfortunately everything that came after was a complete disaster. We cannot understand the partly good reviews in any way. From our point of view it was almost 100 euros for 3 people which wouldn't even have been worth 30 euros. It's better to go somewhere else because the guest is not welcome here. The owner sat at the table and made a video call and did not feel the need to greet his guests either when entering or leaving the restaurant. Clearly a tourist rip-off.

Ich hatte heute Gyros bestellt, nachdem alle Gerichte mit Hühnerfleisch ausverkauft waren. Das Fleisch bestand fast nur aus Fett und war ungenießbar. Der Chef war dennoch begeistert von der Qualität und Zubereitung. Wir gehen dort ganz sicher nicht wieder hin.

Absolute disgrace! Were visiting Scharbeutz and called to ask if the restaurant was open (8 p.m.). The answer was: “All right; “Stay where you are, we’ll close straight away.” We've really never experienced anything like this before. Despite the bad rating, we wanted to give this restaurant a chance... It's a shame, but NEVER again...

What an impudence!!! In November we reserved a table for today (New Year's Eve) for 4 people and when we got there today it was canceled. No chance of getting a table. Not even an apology. We've been here several times, but that was the last time.

The delivery was great and exactly on time! Unfortunately the food was a disappointment, we had gyros (the meat was just fatty and mushy) and the pasta with Metaxas sauce - unfortunately the sauce was very watery and had no taste and the price was disproportionate. We were there for the first time. When ordering, it turned out after a few minutes that there was no sparkling water, no lamb plate, no schnitzel, no cherry juice. When asked what is there? The waitress immediately became aggressive and said what can I do about it. We also got 8 seats for 10 people. The food, well... We definitely won't be coming back...

The employees are overwhelmed and constantly forget what you ordered. They are also rude and take away the space, the children are squeezed together. They also don't look at the other guests and treat others like trash. You don't enjoy eating, sometimes you are lied to or dishes are offered and in the end there were no more three dishes. The food doesn't taste good either.

A very small but cozy tavern with delicious food (I recommend Penne Metaxa!!! Hmmmmm...!!! Greetings to the kitchen!!! 🫶) with nice staff who are happy to pour ouzo without being asked almost every time they walk past the dining table 🥰❤️ A reservation in advance is absolutely recommended, as there are not very many tables and on each of our visits they were always full 😉 We would be happy to come back on our next visit 🫶

I don't normally write reviews, but I'm making an exception here. Ordering etc. went smoothly and the food was ready quickly. The lady was also very friendly, but I had to refuse Ouzo... Ambiance was so-so. When we got home we got a nasty surprise: the food was subpar, and that's an understatement. The calamari was not thoroughly cooked and seasoned with curry (??!), the skewers not at all. The lamb fillet was long past its best days and the rice, well... Everything was thrown together very carelessly, a blob of ready-made sauce on the salad and it didn't smell delicious either. The food then ended up in the bin, so unfortunately I can't recommend it.

Wat is Rhodos achteruit gegaan qua eten. Had Gyros met groet besteld en als extra rijst. Werd ik gebeld dat de rijst op was en of ik iets anders voor in de plaats wilde, dus ik zei doe dan maar extra portie friet. Bij aankomst waren de zakjes en bakjes waar de gyros en friet in zat doorweekt van het vet, de friet en gyros waren super vet en heel zout, en de uien leken wel alsof ze al weken er tussen zaten. Als je ziet wat je aan prijs betaald en wat voor eten je er voor terug krijgt staat dat totaal niet met elkaar in verhouding. Mijn banaan met slagroom was uiteindelijk lekkerder dan de gyros waar ik enorm zin in had. Wat ooit een goede eettent was is nu een eettent met een zeer slechte kwaliteit van eten echt jammer. Ik bestel voortaan wel bij een andere griek

We wanted to go to the toilet. The statement immediately came that the toilet was blocked, only the women's toilet was free. Which I was still allowed to as a man, which is okay. I then asked if my wife could take a moment and the answer was “no, we’d better wait for the technician.” Next time just say that the toilets are only for guests. (of course we would have paid for each trip to the toilet)

Nice little tavern, a little away from the beach promenade. All in all it was good here. The service is super hardworking, fast and friendly. The food comes quickly. As for the food...if you expect food like in Greece you will only be partially happy here. However, if you are looking for the typical German "Greek Restaurant"... Personally, I would have liked it to have been a little more seasoned. But of course that is not representative. Conclusion: price and performance are okay

Delicious food and super nice staff (they asked if we wanted uso, the children were brought a children's uso and they were given an ice cream). You felt welcome in the restaurant thanks to the great hospitality of the waitresses. We can highly recommend the restaurant.

Unfortunately, it gets worse and more expensive every year. If you want to be served by untrained staff (in jogging suits) or are impressed by excessive hospitality, this is the place for you. You sit in the flower bed with a view of garbage cans. The food is standard and nothing special. Everything had to be seasoned, which is certainly a matter of taste. There won't be another time.

Based on the reviews, we were prepared for anything. But what we experienced was tops... unfortunately. We would be greeted in a very friendly way with: Hello everyone. This man doesn't even know us. Well, we were still happy and were really surprised. The starters came before the drinks, which were served incorrectly twice. We were already starting to smile. After the main course was brought to the table incorrectly several times, our gallows humor came through. The food tasted good, the quantity was perfect because it wasn't overloaded. What was, however, very bad and unpleasant: Apparently one of the waiters was there to test work. The entire crew regularly gave him the run for his money because, of course, he didn't know the table numbers by heart. He regularly delivered to the wrong guests and was talked down to on the crowded terrace. We found this extremely embarrassing and unpleasant. Because he was the only one who wasn't fake. The boss made fun of him and played his way into the foreground... That's not possible. Unfortunately, the store is a juggernaut in terms of hygiene. There is a bucket on the terrace that is filled with something and all the tables and the team's hands are wiped with a cloth soaked in it. Coming from the medical field I was really disgusted. You can imagine: we will never go there again Fortunately, we have never had to experience anything like this before.
