Visited Taverna Kalithea for dinner after we decided to go for Greek food while passing through. We received a very friendly welcome on the phone. You find a sports restaurant that offers much more than initially assumed. Here you get large portions but the quality of the food is not compromised. Nobody goes home hungry here! Staff extremely attentive and accommodating. In addition to the gyros, the croquettes are particularly recommended! Likewise the coffee, which comes from a portafilter. We'll definitely come back to visit next time we're in the area!

Very friendly operation/service

We were here for the first time today. We had our gourmet block with us. Our friends and we absolutely loved it. Nice ambience, excellent service and not forgetting great food. We would love to come back - promise 👍

Looks quite inconspicuous from the outside, Greek on the inside with a typical sports restaurant look. The food was a good portion, the meat was very juicy. Only the “Greek fried potatoes” were ready-made fried potatoes that were fried (but perfectly fine for a sports restaurant 😊) Tiramisu was homemade and very tasty!

We came to Kalithea via the Schlemmerblock and were warmly welcomed. The food was very tasty. We can recommend it with a clear conscience.

Nice Greek. The food was good. The fries were very crispy and the gyros were a little under-crispy. But the taste is right. Very attentive service. On Sunday evening there were only a handful of people there. That was surprising. Sports restaurant atmosphere.

We immediately felt at home in the restaurant and really enjoyed our stay and the food! Our dog was also warmly welcomed.🐕 A few vegetarian options would have been nice, but overall it was still very delicate.

Great Greek restaurant, good selection of dishes. Very nice hosts and really great value for money. Have been eating there regularly for 12 years.

Typical Greek food with German requirements (there is also schnitzel). Always very friendly and usually very quick, unless it is really busy. Even then the waiting time is short in comparison. Nice beer garden right next to the sports field, especially in the summer after training you can discuss the success (or failure) here.

The restaurant was recommended to me by a friend. We were thrilled with the service and the food. Will come back there more often. Keep it up 👍 Greetings Jens

The four of us visited for the second time and, as before, we felt very comfortable. This is primarily due to the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. The greeting, farewell and service are absolutely professional and warm. The food, starting with the salad, with what I thought was an excellent dressing, was also completely to our liking. Well prepared and tender meat. We'll be back.

Sunday lunchtime, we were the first guests at 11:45 a.m.: 2 x souvlaki plates. The skewers were above average delicious: tender, fresh and delicately seasoned. The turkey steak too. But the gyro wasn't freshly grilled, at least not from that day. The tzatziki was also delicious and homemade. Except for the gyro, it was really tasty. The service is attentive and quick. The ambience is unobtrusive. By the way, the beer garden outside is my summer tip! We'll be happy to come back in time. That fits.

We ate there with my family on a recommendation, the service was very nice and competent. The food was great, the atmosphere was very old-fashioned and therefore something different. I can only recommend it, since I have now tested all the Greeks in the area, this one is my/our favorite.

We became aware of this restaurant through a coupon in the voucher book. We were warmly welcomed and got a table straight away. We ate the Zeus plate twice and a Greek salad. Both were very good and filling. Retsina also tastes good with this. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, you immediately felt at home here. At the end there was also the obligatory ouzo. We will be happy to come back.

I came here by chance during a customer meeting. Georgius gave us a warm welcome and gave us great advice on choosing what to eat. The homemade garlic bread is highly recommended (on the menu for warm starters/ easy to miss due to the color). I ate the lamb plate and the second person ate the rump steak (both very tasty). After further nice conversations about the restaurant, we were invited for an ouzo and learned that the restaurant has been in the family for over 14 years. We felt very comfortable and had a crowning conclusion with the homemade tiramisu

We went there for dinner today with our 3 children. The waiter (I assume it's the boss) welcomed us so warmly, he was so nice to our youngest (3 years old) that even she felt comfortable. The food was perfect to the point, the liver was perfectly fried and yet buttery soft, the gyros was perfectly seasoned and the homemade fried potatoes were simply great. Ketchup for the youngest was a given and was even added later. All in all, it was a wonderful evening with the family in a wonderful atmosphere. Despite the fact that it is actually a sports field location, this restaurant is one of the best restaurants in Karlsruhe

Had dinner there today with 6 people, everything was perfect. Great service, food a pleasure. Fish dishes are awesome.

Five of us were there for dinner on July 30, 2024, the food was very good and very tasty, the portions were very large, we were served well, quickly and friendly, and everything was within the normal price range. I can highly recommend TAVERNA KALITHEA.

Juicy meat, crispy fries and delicious starters in a nice, Mediterranean atmosphere - an absolute insider tip of Greek cuisine!

Yesterday we were there again with several people and it is still just as good as it was two years ago. It's a bit out of the way, but you can sit comfortably inside or outside. The owners and the whole family do the cooking and the service. They're super nice. Everything is clean, the food is Greek, Mediterranean and good.

Were there for a birthday celebration with the family. So there were different starters, main courses and deserts. We can therefore say that everyone was completely satisfied, it tasted great whether it was fish, meat or vegetarian, e.g. rum steak was really great or just Schnipo, everything was great. The Inci family are all really nice and the atmosphere there is great. We recommend going there whether in a large or small group.

Fantastic food and service, one of the best meals I had in a while. We both ordered the Kalithea Teller - with a little bit of everything and we both cleared our plates. Great price for the meal also. Would definitely recommend!

Somewhat remote in the Neureut industrial area. Super friendly service. Good Greek music at optimal volume. Great gyros with mushroom cheese sauce. A fresh salad plate beforehand and ouzo at the end, what more could the guest want? We'd love to come back.

The three of us had dinner at Taverna Kalithea on Saturday evening. Our orders were taken very quickly and friendly. The wait for our food was short. Regardless of whether it was a starter or a main course, the food tasted very good and was plentiful. As a starter we had grilled pepperoni and sardines starter plate and as a main course we had 2x the Zeus plate and 1x the Ouzo plate (photo). The main course was accompanied by a mixed salad. The staff was very friendly and helpful from the start. Price - performance = top We will come back.

Went to the Taverna Kalithea restaurant with the family today. We received an extremely friendly welcome and had a very nice evening. The food was very good and the service was very friendly. At the end there was an ouzo for everyone and a "currant ouzo" for the children and even some ice cream on the house. We'd love to come back!

Unfortunately our visit to this restaurant was a huge disappointment. There were an incredible number of mosquitoes outside, which made staying on the terrace almost impossible. The atmosphere is more reminiscent of a run-down clubhouse than a cozy Greek restaurant. The food was also very disappointing: the dishes were soaked in fat and of poor quality. We were looking forward to a lovely evening, but were bitterly disappointed. We certainly won't be coming here again. The service was very attentive

This is the second time we've been here this month. The food is simply excellent as is the salad. Always enjoy coming here. The host was always super accommodating.

It's a nice place where you can experience a perfect family atmosphere, which I always enjoy going to. The food, all kinds of meat and fish, is very good, but my favorite is sea bream, the sincerity of Mr. Yusuf is priceless, the service is friendly and quick, I can recommend it to those who know what they want, it is a nice restaurant you can go to with your family.

Hidden gem. We could smell the grill from outside as we entered. The grill and fryer are optimal and the dishes were delicious. The family that owns it are hospitable and kind. We had a great evening and would definitely recommend!!
