Restaurant Elios in Karlsruhe

We went there without a reservation and got a table. It's a small restaurant with a lovely ambiance, and the food was excellent. I haven't had such a delicious meal at a Greek restaurant in a long time! The salad 11/10 Main entrance "Zeuss" 10/10 (a bit small for very big eaters, but perfectly adequate for average people) Espresso 10/10 We were given ouzo before and after our meal, and the beer was also very tasty. The service was very attentive and friendly, but not intrusive! All in all, a very good restaurant with truly excellent value for money. We'd be happy to come back.

Very good, very friendly, and very good value for money. I'm a business customer and like good food and good, fast service. Everything is just right here – I had the extensive Zeus platter with very crispy French fries and great minced steaks, skewers, and gyros! With an Aperol, it didn't even cost €27. Highly recommended.

The service is extremely friendly and attentive, making you feel immediately at home. There's plenty of seating too – you can enjoy a comfortable meal both inside and outside. Yes, we ended up there by chance and were absolutely thrilled with the food, the service and the staff. We went back 3 days later to eat because we liked it so much that we celebrated our 40th birthday there and also booked an appointment for our 18th birthday in November... we can only recommend this restaurant... best wishes Franco

We visited Elios, the successor restaurant to Zeus in Hohenwettersbach. We hoped the quality would be maintained. It even exceeded it. The gyro was crispy and juicy. By far the best I've had in a long time. I also highly recommend the Metaxa sauce. We'll definitely be back.

BEWARE OF THIS RESTAURANT!! I ordered something to take away today and was told there would be a half-hour wait – so far, so good. When I arrived at the restaurant half an hour later, I had to wait another half-hour, making a total of one hour, for two simple plated dishes and a portion of tzatziki. As compensation, they gave me the "tzatziki" for free. When I got home, however, I was very surprised to find that the tzatziki was an unidentifiable feta cream. The meat was also substandard – as you can see in the photos, the souvlaki (which wasn't served on a skewer but rather as individual pieces simply thrown into the packaging) was served raw!! If I'm not mistaken, it's okay to eat pork pink, but not completely raw inside. The salad was really not tasty, and the rice was drowning in its own broth, so it was overcooked. Conclusion: never again Elios – I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

A great Greek restaurant with a great outdoor area and a very cozy interior. Good food and great service. Every visit is a little bit of a vacation.

Highly recommended restaurant. The service is friendly and down-to-earth. The food was very, very good, and the portions were generous. Add to that the charming atmosphere, which, while not entirely displacing the big city, still somehow evokes a holiday feeling.

It was very crowded. The service is well-organized. And the food: it deserves a 6*. The dishes aren't overly seasoned, but have their own unique flavor. Simply delicious. There's a beer garden. The interior is freshly renovated. The beer garden is beautifully decorated! Parking and public transportation are available on-site. We'll be back – to what is probably the best Greek restaurant in Karlsruhe. Update 09/03/2023: We were there again, and the food was wonderful again. Update 03/03/2024: We were there again, and it was wonderful again! Update 06/06/2024: People, try the Galaktoboureko! Simply a must! Beautiful beer garden shaded by a large linden tree, next to green spaces and Durlach's high-rise buildings. This makes it always pleasantly cooler than in Durlach's city center. Typical Greek cuisine with large portions and individual character. Very dedicated staff. Every request is fulfilled whenever possible. We'd be happy to return.

A year ago, everything was great (all 5 stars). Unfortunately, I have to adjust that after my last two visits. They're still trying hard, but unfortunately, the food has changed significantly for the worse. Therefore, I can no longer recommend the restaurant. The gyro could have at least been slightly grilled and not just cooked soggy on a spit. The grilled pepperoni was also only briefly passed over the grill – so they were a bit warm straight from the jar. I liked it – OK. It wasn't good enough for me.

The ambiance is inviting, and the terrace is cozy. The food is excellent, and the service is truly attentive and always cheerful. It's always a pleasure. And an absolute must if you're in the area.

The two of us were there and really treated ourselves. It was super nice, and the boss was the coolest guy. Even though it was busy, he was relaxed and joked with the guests. Very pleasantly surprised... the place was super clean and the food was excellent!! The dressing is homemade and the service was relaxed and exactly as it should be. I'm a cook myself and can tell. We ordered trimmed calamari, grilled pulp and gyros. The bread is homemade and everything was prepared just right. I can only thank you for this lovely Sunday lunch. Just try to improve the plate presentation a bit... Otherwise everything was great!! It's not overpriced at all!! I think the prices are very reasonable. And Moninger beer on top!!! It's been a long time since we've eaten at Elios...the meat on the skewer was dry, the peppers were barely crispy, and the fries tasted like they'd been reheated in a deep fryer. The salad wasn't crispy. The salad dressing was good, but the tzatziki wasn't quite as tasty. Unfortunately, you can tell that the two head chefs are no longer with us. We were disappointed and will now gladly make the longer journey to Maxau. There's also a great alternative in Aue; this restaurant also offers lunch at 1:30 p.m., while the kitchen at Elios is already closed.

The owner has changed. Unfortunately, Liza is no longer there. The food is no longer what it was under the previous owners. The menu is identical, but unfortunately the taste is no longer good. We were on vacation and wanted to go out for Greek food. We then decided on Elios. The restaurant is somewhat hidden in the back yard between prefabricated buildings. From the outside the restaurant makes a cute impression. When you come in you are unfortunately greeted by the smell of the toilet/staircase. In the restaurant itself the atmosphere was quite Greek and quite pleasant. We were greeted very friendly and the food was served quickly. The drinks and the appetizer came very quickly. The young man who served us was really very friendly and tried hard the whole time. The food was okay, but it would be better if everything came to the table really hot and lovingly prepared. There is a lot of room for improvement in terms of taste. Sauces should also taste like it and not be diluted with water. The plates and the glasses were not really clean. (Cleanliness and hygiene are the most important thing!!) All in all, the restaurant still has a lot of room for improvement, but maybe thanks to the young boss it can also be implemented well?! I came here on Saturday afternoon, Very nice atmosphere and very friendly service. I had the Rumpsteak and i think the picture talks by itself, The salad and Kartoffeln was the most tasty i had so far at any Greek restaurant in Karlsruhe. Will visit more often:)

The meat wasn't cooked through, the rice was very watery, and the food wasn't warm either. The service was very friendly. What a shame.

I was largely disappointed with my O Trelos plate… the tomato rice was almost like rice soup, and the rum steak was grilled all the way through. The only thing that was really good was the tzatziki ☹️

Food was really not good at these exorbitant prices. Feta prepared in aluminum foil. Really now? Salad with tasteless dressing from the bucket. Eating took 1 hour, which was really a long time. There was also a birthday at the next table, it was very, very loud and the children screamed quite loudly and played loudly in the evening. It was quite tiring to converse. It was our first time in this wonderful Greek restaurant. The waitress Yannis was extremely friendly and very attentive. Entree platter absolutely recommended!!!!! It's not easy to find a restaurant open for lunch, especially when you come as a tourist. Thanks to the Internet, we made a great discovery. Pleasant interior, tables not too close together, view of a green space and delicious, rather copious dishes. The salad dressing was balanced and on 3 different dishes, all were good, including the liver. Friendly service and atmosphere. If we were local, we would come back.

Well, what can I say. The service staff is very attentive and friendly. The food served is decent but can be considered mediocre. However, the price/performance ratio is definitely not right. What is outrageous is that you are told in passing that the prices on the menu are not correct and that an additional 3.00 euros are due. So in plain language: For four courses, 12.00 euros more is charged than stated on the menu. We were definitely here for the last time.

This restaurant is known for good Greek cuisine, regardless of who the owner is. The reopening was a success. Although the entire interior was retained from its predecessor, the menu was redesigned. The starters and fish dishes are highly recommended. The only negative thing to note is a completely tasteless picture of a Mona Lisa drinking energy drinks. When it comes to Greeks, I would expect more Ouzo or Metaxa advertising.
