The friendly service, the complimentary quzo with the food, and the good value for money are particularly noteworthy. The restaurant is well-frequented, and I felt very comfortable. The food is generous and the price is good, all in a rustic setting.

A typical "old" Greek restaurant. Both the ambiance and the food could use a refresh. But it was perfectly fine.

The Greek side salad is great. The gyro portion was quite large, and the meat was very well seasoned. The fries were crispy. The tzatziki is good, but not exceptional.

In my opinion, one of the best Greek restaurants in the region! Very friendly service, very short wait times (for the daily specials), excellent Greek dishes with typical flavors! Beautiful Greek music plays in the background. I'm always impressed! 🥰

Our meal number 50 was too salty (confirmed by the server). The rice was served in a cafeteria-style manner. Servers who act like cleaning staff are out of place here. The value for money, based on the presentation of the food, is completely out of place. The tables in the back were too close together, also a no-go. Furthermore, the low ceilings are too noisy for us. However, one thing that speaks in favor of Syrtaki is that, after confirming our criticism, we were offered a meal on the house (to go), which we accepted pro forma.

A highly recommended restaurant in the heart of Karlsruhe's city center. Unlike other restaurants nearby, this one still offers traditional, down-to-earth dishes at a very good price-performance ratio. The hospitality and friendliness are honest and authentic. The food is delicious, made from fresh ingredients, and served hot. Regarding the lamb shank, I have to say I've never eaten such a delicious and delicate shank. The meat fell off the bone at first sight; it was tender and very flavorful. The sauce served was clearly homemade, with no added powders. I'll definitely be back next year! We went to this restaurant based on the very positive reviews. We can't say we had a bad meal, but all the dishes could be improved a bit; they're tasteless, both the meat, the salad, and even the watery rice. The only nice thing is that they welcome you with the traditional aniseed liqueur, and if you like, they'll even offer it at the end of the meal. I'd been to other Greek restaurants before and had definitely better food. I think the menu needs a bit of a revamp.

We come here regularly; the service is always very good. And, of course, the food is always of the highest quality and taste. I recommend reserving a table in advance, as there can often be long waits. Update: We visited again after a long break, and it was still excellent. We'd be happy to come back.

This greek is absolutely perfect, the staff is super nice. The food is really great. I really enjoyed my dinner here. Prices where also really affordable. I spent about 54 euros for dinner Incl drinks. However there is one thing that was a bit hard to get over. The food was really salty, i also felt this the next day, not a big problem just something to think about before you eat here.

Very attentive and friendly hosts, but unfortunately, the food has deteriorated considerably recently. The house dressing is very boring and tasteless, and you get the feeling that no one is seasoning the other dishes either.

We ordered a takeaway appetizer platter for two people. Vegetarian options were no problem, the quantity was more than sufficient, and, last but not least, they even gave us a dessert. It was delicious and a 10/10 price-performance ratio. Thanks also to the friendly chef and his team for the free ouzo during our short wait for the food. With such hospitality, we'll be happy to come back!

Food nothing special, lots of free ouzo

Basically a great shop with friendly service. The meat was also of good quality. However, one of the lamb skewers we ordered had a long hair on it. We pointed this out, and they offered to replace the skewer. But we would have finished our meal by then, so we declined. At the checkout, they deducted €5 for this, which I found a bit lame, considering we left over half the meat after the hair. But otherwise, it was fine; we just won't be coming back.

The food was at 8:15, but you're paying for a fine-dining restaurant. I won't go back.

Unfortunately we don't recommend it. Starter grilled pepperoni... Pickled pepperoni were briefly warmed in the pan and served in cheap oil with no taste and with ground breadcrumbs. Grilled lamb fillet... Defrosted in the microwave (also unfortunately pre-cooked), briefly on the grill... The meat was far dry and tough and without any grill color. €27 for that? Went back and luckily wasn't charged. Baked gyros, dripping with fat and tasted pretty neutral. Side rice tasted very watered down. Baked Greek pasta... Pasta was overcooked, swollen, swimming in fat and unfortunately very tasteless. Liver... tendoned and tough. The salad was still floating in water.

We ate in the restaurant and the food was really delicious - fresh, well seasoned and prepared with love. The service was also very nice and attentive, which we found really positive. Unfortunately, the overall ambience was disappointing. The restaurant looks very old, the furnishings are old and uncomfortable. The toilets in particular were not clean and in urgent need of renovation. It's a shame, because the food really has potential - but unfortunately everything around it really spoiled the overall impression. If this is modernized, it could be a really great restaurant.

I wish I could give 10 stars. The service is extremely good, really nice employees and overall a really very good shop. We were welcomed straight away with a small cocktail on the house. Very reasonable prices and lots of free side dishes.

We went here spontaneously for dinner. It was super nice, great service, delicious food. We felt comfortable and would come again if we were in Karlsruhe again.

I reserved a table yesterday because I thought, based on the very good comments, that I wouldn't spontaneously get a free table. I have to say that I don't understand where all these good reviews come from as the restaurant is very run down, old and dirty. In addition, the food doesn't taste good. Starting with the salad. Even the dressing didn't taste like anything. I ordered a lamb fillet as my main course. The meat was rubbery and you couldn't even chew it properly. Service was unkempt. I suspect all the good comments come from the rounds of ouzo that are on the house. This is how they score points. However, I go to a restaurant to have a delicious meal, not to get drunk. I've never eaten so badly. I would recommend everyone not to pay attention to the comments as this does not correspond at all to what we saw and ate there. I'm really disappointed. It definitely wasn't worth the money.

So from the start, the food was a complete disaster. I don't know if the food is from lunch and has been reheated or if it's just not good... I think both. I had gyros with fries and Metaxa sauce (with mushrooms), when I asked if you could leave the mushrooms out, the answer was that you can't take them out, the sauce is already ready and there is mushroom powder in it... what good chef uses mushroom powder please!!! Starters salad was food for rabbits and not for humans, fart dry and barely seasoned. The service was pretty unkempt and not that friendly. There is one positive thing though, there were at least 3 rounds of ouzo and a round of bread. After dinner we asked the boss that the food wasn't good and didn't taste good at all, he didn't apologize for it or anything, he just said next time it would be better and the shop has been around for a long time and is always full... doesn't change the fact that we never set foot there again in our lives. The toilets were also really dirty... and as people like to say, the kitchen looks like the toilet! Conclusion: The rating is misleading. Don't eat there and instead get a kebab with fries, you'll have more of that...

Had lunch at this restaurant today. What can you say… Really a pure disappointment. Starting with the salad. Dressing had no taste and it was really bland. Then came the main course. Gyros were very dry and the lamb chop only tasted like herb butter. Really sad. When we were asked if we enjoyed the food, we gave our honest opinion... that we didn't enjoy it. The owner did not accept our opinion and pointed out to us that he has owned the store for a long time and it has always been good. Unfortunately it doesn't do me any good if the food wasn't tasty. The service wasn't exactly ideal either. Beer mats used as coasters are thrown onto the table. What can you say… overall a pure disappointment. We were particularly pleased with the many positive comments. So it's clear that we unfortunately won't eat there anymore and wouldn't recommend this restaurant either.

We went there after Gottesdienst. In general it’s a perfect place for you to grab some greek food. The meat and Pommes are beyond my expectations but the rice are not good enough to give us a surprise. The waiters are so nice and professional, the decorations and the atmosphere can also make you feel in Greece. Anyway it’s a good place to dine in.

A company party with 30 people at 12 noon – and the restaurant was steadily filling up to capacity. Despite the rush of hungry guests, a professional team was waiting, systematically and consistently taking everyone's orders and processing them with astonishing speed. Considering the value for money, the food is astonishingly good. The meat was excellently prepared to perfection. Even the liver was tender. The tzatziki was a bit bland, but opinions differ here, as we all know. The rice side dishes were well-seasoned. The fries were a bit "sloppy." A total of four ouzos were served in two hours, which is quite exceptional. The hospitality and the team were very friendly and professional in their collaboration. Thank you for these wonderful hours, we'll see you again at the next company party 👋🏻

We received a very warm welcome, everyone was very attentive, the ouzo arrived at our table faster than we could sit down, but the food was unfortunately much too spicy. The waitress simply said, "Don't you know us?" Despite receiving three complimentary ouzos, we won't be coming back. We want to eat delicious food and not get drunk. 😀
