Taste of India Munich in München

Good Indian cuisine on the outskirts of town. The interior is a bit small and has a '80s feel. Advance reservations are essential, otherwise, with only 50 seats, it quickly becomes crowded. The food is very decent. There's nothing to complain about. Good value for money. Service is solid. Sometimes the food arrives a little late.

I came across this restaurant via Google and immediately planned a visit. I received a warm welcome upon entering. The waiter, possibly the owner, immediately made it clear that he had a table ready, but that we should be patient for a moment. This clear announcement was perfectly acceptable, and indeed, it only took a minute or two for a freshly set table with a new tablecloth to appear. Since it was a weekday lunchtime, we could choose from the attractive lunch menu, which is more affordable than in the evening or on weekends. You could choose between a soup or a small salad – I opted for the spinach soup, which was generously seasoned with garlic and very tasty. The main course didn't take long to arrive, was extremely attractively presented, and lived up to all our expectations in terms of flavor. Also worth mentioning is the coffee: As soon as I entered the restaurant, I noticed the coffee machine, and I had the feeling the coffee might be above average – and I was right! The espresso and latte macchiato were highly recommended. Overall, it was a successful visit in a welcoming atmosphere. The staff was friendly and attentive, and all at a reasonable price. I would definitely be happy to return and highly recommend this restaurant.

Paneer tikka starter was good. Karahi paneer gravy was decent. It could have been better. Naan was good. The ambience is great and the service is very good.

Tried this restaurant after hearing a good compliment about it and it was definitely worth it :) we had vegetable pakora and samosas for starters it was good and the chutney was for sure the best one i have ever tasted for main course we had chicken tikka grill which was soft in the inside and had a decent seasoning , laam biryani was yummy , butter chicken was good and i ordered it spicy and it was even better and delicious the best one i had so far! Enjoyed coming here for sure will be coming again since the food was SO GOOD , the service was good and smooth and the waiters were friendly and welcoming

If you looking for a Halal authentic Indian food’ this is where you need to drop your guards’ in Munich. Was so super hungry didn’t have time to take more photos’ butter chicken & Naan was delicious! Do try the karak chai. Staff is superb too…

I ordered takeout. Chicken tandoori. They gave me way too little rice. I had to reorder from somewhere else. I don't think I'll go there again.

Definitely the best Indian restaurant in all of Munich! The food is incredibly delicious – no matter what you order, you'll be pleasantly surprised every time. The drinks menu is also impressive: the house-made Taste of India water and the refreshing Sarti Spritz are particularly recommended. The ambiance is very modern and clean. You can feel the attention to detail, which immediately creates a pleasant and inviting atmosphere. In summer, the beautiful outdoor terrace is a real plus: quiet, cozy, and ideal for relaxing outside and enjoying a beautiful summer evening. I recently tried Taste Of India on Forstenrieder Allee with my family and was absolutely thrilled! The quality of the food was outstanding and one of the best Indian dishes I've ever had. The tandoori dish, in particular, was incredibly delicious and authentic! The new drinks menu with the various spritz drinks was also a highlight. The atmosphere was pleasant, and I highly recommend the restaurant! I will definitely be back and can't wait to try more dishes!

This restaurant is a must for anyone who loves Indian food! The appetizers were simply amazing – the Gobi Manchurian was just perfect, not too hot or spicy, and the pakora and the zucchini fritters with garlic sauce were a delicious addition. There are many vegetarian options; I tried a delicious Karahi Paneer. But what really impressed me was the super friendly and attentive staff! The young men are incredibly nice and cater to all requests. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back. 😄

The best culinary experience amin Münich

Unfortunately, the evening was anything but good. We had to wait 1.5 hours for our food. They said the dishes weren't spicy, but the opposite was true. The service also left a lot to be desired; it took forever for someone to take our order, etc. This happened every time. Even when we finally wanted to pay after almost four unwanted hours, we were kept waiting forever. Instead, tables were cleared. Unfortunately, we won't be back; the previous owner, Beppo, on the other hand, was a dream.

The food is good, but the original portion of rice that comes with it was so small that it was gone after 5-6 spoonfuls. It should be mentioned that the rice bowl wasn't even full when I got it. I still had 3/4 of the sauce after the original rice was gone. If you then ask for more rice you get a portion for €3.80. It honestly doesn't get more outrageous than that. This is the first time I've had to pay for rice at an Indian restaurant. Sorry, but I'm not going to put up with this kind of rip-off again. Then they write next to the price of the sauce that the rice costs extra.

The restaurant offers good quality food. Very friendly staff. The outdoor terrace is a great place to sit when the weather's nice. Today's lamb curry could have cost two euros more, with two or three extra pieces of meat. But thanks to the poppadoms and soup, we were ultimately well-satiated.

We just had a fantastic lunch there! The food was delicious, the service very friendly, and the prices for Indian food are absolutely unbeatable. I checked the bill twice to make sure everything was included. We definitely recommend it!

Nothing has changed. The staff is still very friendly and accommodating. Cloth tablecloths and napkins are used, and everything is beautifully presented. The price/performance ratio is good. The portions are plentiful. We always enjoy coming here and enjoy our stay. Reservations are a good idea.

A restaurant with a great ambience and a very nice terrace in summer, but quite loud in the back area despite the small space. Compared to previous visits where we were very satisfied and enthusiastic, in our opinion the service is now decreasing and the food no longer impresses me. I clearly missed the spice this time. I've been raving about it to a friend for a long time and then unfortunately it wasn't as expected anymore. The Prosecco that we treated ourselves to "to celebrate the day" tasted a bit stale. On a weekend evening we were suddenly asked to pay quite early, even though there were other guests there and we wanted to order something. It's a shame...maybe we just had a bad day, but it shouldn't keep happening...

Best Indian ever! Everything perfect! Food and service a dream!

After a long time we came here again for dinner and it was delicious as ever. 7 different dishes, everyone was very satisfied. There are also a few children's dishes without an Indian touch, such as chicken nuggets with fries, so our younger daughter was also happy. It is advisable to reserve in advance as the restaurant is not that big.

Fantastic restaurant!!! The cuisine is exceptional with refined products and recipes that adapt tradition with novelty and modernity while maintaining authenticity. I've probably tried a dozen Indian dishes in Munich - but we always like it excellently - the spiciness sometimes varies - but people always ask for it🙂‍↔️ The Channa Masala is very tasty, as are the duck and chicken dishes. The Sizzling Platters are always very good as well as varying weekly dishes and starters. Must try Gobi Manchurian starter.

Dishonest Service and Poor Food Quality – Avoid This Restaurant I had a deeply disappointing experience with this restaurant during my recent visit to Munich. I ordered food for pick-up, expecting authentic and fresh Indian cuisine, but was utterly let down. The rotis they gave me were stale and nowhere near fresh. This is unacceptable, especially when catering to people who expect quality and authenticity based on the reviews. I am postings the photos of the rotis. Anyone can easily recognise which is a fresh roti and which is stale. The paneer dish I ordered was excessively spicy, completely overpowering the flavors. It felt like no care or thought had been put into preparing the food. What’s even more frustrating is how misleading the fancy reviews and glossy interiors are. Let me tell you, these do not reflect the reality of the food or service. I am going to share my review with all my colleagues at work and all my friends so that they don’t get fooled by the fancy reviews there are. Waste of money, there are not so fancy Indian restaurants in Munich which serves much better fresh food .

Great ambience, excellent service and the food was excellent. We had two chicken dishes - here the chicken was first grilled in the tandoor oven and then added to the curry to develop the full flavor. The starters and drinks were delicious and beautifully presented. Cleanliness 10/10, something you don't always experience at Indian restaurants. Definitely recommended!!!

As an Indian, I had high hopes for Taste of India in Munich, but unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. The authenticity of the food is lacking. The spices and flavors, which are the heart of Indian cuisine, seemed diluted and unbalanced. Dishes that should be rich and aromatic were bland and far from what you’d expect from genuine Indian cooking.

It was so incredibly good! Personally, I'm not a person who can tolerate spicy. Nevertheless, I love Indian cuisine. In this restaurant I was able to try really good Indian food for the first time. We came for early lunch on Saturday. Atmosphere and service were good but the food wasn't convincing. Starter: Paneer Pankora not fresh but probably fried a second time. Main courses: Eggplant in sauce with too much cream. The vegetable Jalfrezi gave the impression of Leipziger Allerlei with Indian sauce. The rice with cloves and cumin was also too simple, the naan was too dry. Only the mango lassi was convincing. For atmosphere and service, Taste of India deserves a second chance. We'll come back in the evening.

I've been there several times and have always been completely satisfied. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and also has a nice terrace facing the street. The service was very accommodating and always friendly, consistent with the quality of the ambience and the food. At lunchtime and in the evening I found the food really good, you can see and taste the ambition to serve quality to the guest. I particularly like the tandoori dishes, they are pretty authentic and the sauce with them is simply delicious. A clear recommendation for me!

Classic Indian cuisine, but better quality than all other Indian restaurants in the south of Munich. In addition, friendly service and tasteful furnishings “without Bollywood”. At every meal (4 in total) we enjoyed everything, whether with meat or vegetarian.
